Watch Shania Twain, Tenille Townes Relive An 'Insane' Full-Circle Moment

Two decades ago, Shania Twain spotted a 9-year-old girl in the crowd at one of her shows and invited her on stage.

That aspiring artist was Tenille Townes, now a country singer-songwriter herself. Townes, now 29, joined Twain on her headlining “Queen of Me Tour,” a global trek that wrapped up in Canada. Townes shared a video of the “full circle” moment she’ll “never get over,” she wrote in her caption on Instagram.

“Shania, thank you for seeing a 9 year old kid in your crowd and… (fast forward almost exactly 20 YEARS!) for inviting her on tour with you NOW!” Townes added.

Twain and Townes held hands on stage in front of the cheering crowd, sharing the story of how they first met 20 years ago. Twain said it was an “incredible” story, and noted that at 9 years old, she’s never stood on a stage in front of such a large audience.

“It was insane,” Townes said, remembering the homemade outfit her mom crafted for her. “I told me mom, I was like, ‘I’m singing with Shania tonight. This is the night.’ …and you saw me! You saw me, and you pulled me up here. You are such a huge reason why I’m standing here doing the thing that I love to do so much.”

Twain said “it just blows me away,” that Townes was the 9-year-old girl who joined her on stage and pursued her dreams years later.

Townes has previously shared a photo of that full-circle moment, when she was revealed as one of the guests on Twain’s global tour, which also included Kelsea Ballerini, Lindsay Ell, Hailey Whitters, Breland, Robyn Ottolini, Priscilla Block, and Mickey Guyton.

“If you'd have told this nine year old kid who was randomly pulled on stage with her hero, that a few years later, she'd be opening up for that hero on an arena tour, she would have lost her mind,” Townes previously wrote in her caption on Instagram. “Currently losing my mind... this is the craziest full circle and I can not wait for these shows 🥹🖤🤘”
