“Good music never goes out of fashion.”

A soon-to-premiere docuseries about legendary country artist Willie Nelson will tell the Texas-born artist’s story and share details about his life from some of the industry’s most beloved stars. Willie Nelson & Family is slated to premiere on December 21.

The docuseries initially premiered at the 2023 Sundance Film Festival earlier this year. Later this month, it will be available to steam on Paramount+. It was executive produced by Yellowstone’s Taylor Sheridan, along with Thom Zimny and Oren Moverman. Paramount+ and CMT posted a trailer of the docuseries on Instagram about the iconic Country Music Hall of Famer, who celebrated his 90th birthday in April, on Thursday (December 14). The docuseries will feature Dolly Parton, Emmylou Harris, Kenny Chesney, Sheryl Crow, Rosanne Cash, Bill Anderson and others.

“The first authorized work exploring the extraordinary life of Willie Nelson traverses the personal and career ups, downs, and in-betweens of one of the world's most beloved musicians.”

“Willie's music formed the soundtrack of my youth,” Sheridan said, per CMT. “His songwriting helped shape me as a storyteller. Willie is a national treasure, and his story will serve as inspiration for all those seeking their own path that leads away from the clouds of compromise. Willie has opened his life to us — warts and all — to serve as a beacon to overcoming failure, realizing dreams, and keeping your compass once the dream is achieved.”
