Carly Pearce debuted a snippet of a stunning, heart-wrenching post-breakup ballad as fans eagerly await details about the award-winning singer-songwriter’s next full-length album. Pearce penned “My Place” about feelings that follow a “devastating break up,” she wrote in an Instagram caption as she shared an acoustic rendition over the weekend.

“I wrote this song about that feeling you get after you go through a devastating break up,” Pearce said. “Where you find yourself still feeling entitled to what they’re doing, who they’re with… but realizing that those thoughts don’t belong to you anymore. This song is my realization of that very moment, and one of my favorite new songs. This is ‘My Place’ 🤍”

The sneak peek of “My Place” quickly drew praise from Nate Smith, Lady A’s Hillary Scott, sister duo Tigirlily Gold and others. Some commenters wrote that it’s an “amazing song and brutally painful,” it “shakes me to my core,” and many said they’re eager for Pearce’s fourth studio album.

Last week, Pearce shared a teaser on her social media channels, writing in her caption that it’s time for “end of the year chaos and last swipe surprises.” The final photo she shared at that time appears to be a screenshot of a Dropbox folder labeled “! CP_MIXES 2023,” which made many fans wonder whether it was a signal for new music releasing soon. Most recently, Peace has released “Country Music Made Me Do it,”“We Don’t Fight Anymore” featuring Chris Stapleton, and “Heels Over Head.” Her next project will follow 29: Writen In Stone, which released in 2021.
