Carly Pearce “could hear a pin drop” during her live performance of an unreleased ballad from her upcoming album. But halfway through the song, that silence broke way to thousands of festival goers filling the arena with cheers and applause.

Pearce took the stage during the C2C: Country to Country music festival over the weekend in Glasgow, Scotland. During that festival, the Kentucky-born singer-songwriter delivered a stunning rendition of a song that’s set to appear on her highly-anticipated, fourth full-length studio album, hummingbird. Pearce previously teased “my place” on her social media pages and shared a video from her live performance on Sunday (March 10). She wrote in her caption on Instagram:

“Played my brand new song ‘my place’ tonight in an arena in Glasgow of 7,500 beautiful country music fans & could hear a pin drop… and then this happened halfway through the song 🥲. Thank you for giving me so much love & for listening to my stories the way you did tonight & every night this weekend during [C2C: Country to Country music festival]. It was truly so special ❤️❤️❤️”

Pearce previously shared that she “wrote this song about that feeling you get after you go through a devastating break up. Where you find yourself still feeling entitled to what they’re doing, who they’re with… but realizing that those thoughts don’t belong to you anymore. This song is my realization of that very moment, and one of my favorite new songs. This is ‘My Place’ 🤍”

The award-winning country artist revealed in a long-awaited announcement earlier this month that her new album, hummingbird, will make its debut on June 14. Pearce released the stunning title track and delivered the first-ever live performance on that same day, at the 2024 Country Radio Seminar (CRS) in Downtown Nashville, Tennessee.

“The last few years have been a season of loss and growth, of healing and happiness. A belief that if I did the inner work, I would rebuild myself stronger than I was before, and a knowing that I have done some living and will always be unapologetic about it,” Pearce wrote as she introduced her new era. “These 14 songs incapsulate my confidence that there is light on the other side of darkness and my true love of country music.

“When you hear this album — Wherever you are on your journey, I hope it shows you that pain can be a lesson that shows you just how strong you are and what you truly deserve,” she continued. “That we can all find the ‘hummingbird’ in the midst of whatever we’re going through.”
