Southern California residents, get ready for a cool down and some rain.

According to ABC7, Thursday (April 4) is set to see a significant drop in temperatures, with possible drizzle and rain arriving by nightfall. But the real rain is expected to come on Friday (April 5). Los Angeles and Orange counties can expect highs of around 62 degrees on Thursday, with the possibility of rain in the evening. Friday could bring about a quarter inch of rain. Meanwhile, the valleys and the Inland Empire will see similar conditions, with highs reaching around 60 degrees. Up to a half inch of rain could fall on Friday.

If you're planning a trip to the beach, expect cooler temperatures there too. Beaches are predicted to reach a high of 59 degrees, with surf heights between 2 to 4 feet.

For those living in the mountain communities, Thursday will be partly cloudy and breezy with a high of 47 degrees. Snow is expected at elevations around 5,000 feet, with about 3 to 6 inches predicted.

In the deserts, expect blowing dust and a high of 61 degrees on Thursday. Showers and windy conditions are forecasted for Friday.

This weather change is due to a second storm hitting the West Coast this week. The storm is expected to bring heavy rain and potential flooding to Southern California into the weekend.

So, if you live in Southern California, it might be a good idea to clear out those drainage pipes and prepare for the incoming rain. The weather is expected to dry out early next week, returning to normal conditions.
