WWE superstar Chelsea Green claims she was kicked out of a popular Manhattan hotel after staffers mistook her for an escort based on her clothing.

Green, 33, who was in New York after the live broadcast of 'Monday Night Raw' from Barclays Center in Brooklyn, said she was planning to have drinks with a friend at The Plaza Hotel's Champagne Bar prior to seeing a Broadway show Tuesday (April 3) night before her plans were changed.

"Man… one night you’re wrestling at Barclays Center, having the time of your life and the next you’re being kicked out of @FairmontHotels and accused of being an escort because of your outfit Life is funny! Maybe next year I won’t celebrate Wrestlemania weekend at The Plaza Hotel LOL…," Green wrote.

Green told TMZ Sports that the incident took place at around 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday and claimed she was told the bar was closed to the public despite having called in advance and being told otherwise. A patron reportedly witnessed the situation unfold and invited Green and her friend into the bar, at which point the Canadian wrestler claims staffers screamed, "Get back here. We aren't playing your games. We know what you're doing here."

Green said she took the comments as accusations of being an escort as she was wearing a white off-the-shoulder top, denim skirt, brown boots and a dark coat. The wrestler said she was "pissed" and "embarrassed" by the incident, which resulted in her being told to leave by three additional security guards.

Green said she was finally able to speak to a manager, at which point the same security guards allegedly stood by and laughed prior to her ultimately giving up and leaving the building.

Green, who returned to WWE in 2023 after stints with Impact Wrestling, Ring of Honor and the independent circuit, is married to independent wrestler Matt Cardona, who had previously wrestled for WWE under the moniker 'Zack Ryder' and recently appeared on All Elite Wrestling's 'Collision' program.
