When search for a place to settle down and call home, many factors may play into one's decision, such as safety and criminal activity, proximity to incredible restaurants and exciting nightlife, and access to quality health care or education. However, one of the biggest concerns when it comes to finding a home is the price. While there are plenty of more affordable places to live around the state, if you're looking for something a bit more extravagant, it will come with a heftier price tag.

According to a list compiled by Family Handyman, the most expensive neighborhood in all of North Carolina is Wrightsville Beach and the 28480 zip code. This island located just outside of Wilmington has a population around 2,500 and has a sky-high median home value of more than $1.3 million.

Here's what the site had to say about the most expensive zip code in the state:

"This four-mile-long beach island makes up the quaint town of Wrightsville Beach. Zillow reports its median home value as being $1,387,200. Surfers, shoppers and sailors alike will enjoy this adorable area."
