Social media influencer Eva Evans, who gained notoriety for documenting her life as a New York City native, died by suicide, TMZ reports.

Evans, 29, was reported to be found hanging inside her New York City apartment by a friend who had a key and went to check on her late Saturday (April 20) night after last seeing her alive Friday (April 19) morning. The friend reportedly called 911 and told police that they were unaware of Evans previously being depressed or emotionally disturbed.

Evans was pronounced dead at the scene by responding paramedics. A source told TMZ that a note was left behind, however, the contents were unclear at the time of publication Tuesday (April 23) night.

Evans' cause of death hasn't officially been ruled on as toxicology results are pending. Eva's sister, Lila, initially revealed news of her death in a post shared on Instagram.

"Yesterday my family received news that our sweet, fabulous, creative, caring, hilarious Eva, my beautiful sister, has died," Lila wrote in the caption of a photo showing her sister. "After 24 hours, I still find myself in a constant cycle of denial and acceptance, so i know how unbelievable and hard to process this news will be.

"We will be holding a celebration of Eva this coming Tuesday, 4/23, in the evening in lower Manhattan. Please DM me so I can get a headcount and will share the details. I wish I had Eva here now to refer to because she would have better words and know how to say what i don’t.

"I am keeping this brief, so we can plan for the next few days, but you’ll be hearing a lot more from me on how much Eva means to me and just how different the world will be be without her."

Evans launched a comedy series on Amazon Prime Video called 'Club Rat' which centered around an influencer trying to re-enter the dating scene following a viral video of her breakup, starring alongside Noa Fisher and Marcela Avelina. The 29-year-old, who had more than 300,000 followers on TikTok and more than 28,000 followers on Instagram, shared her last posts on both accounts four days ago.
