Seven-time Super Bowl champion Tom Brady admitted that some of the jokes made during his recent Netflix roast "affected my kids" while appearing on The Pivot Podcast with former NFL players Ryan Clark, Fred Taylor and Channing Crowder this week.

Brady's divorce from his ex-wife, supermodel Gisele Bündchen, the mother of his son, Ben, and daughter, Vivian, and ex-girlfriend, model and actress Bridget Moynahan, the mother of his oldest son, Jack, were among numerous topics covered during the Netflix roast on May 5.

"I loved when the jokes were about me. I thought they were so fun. I didn't like the way that it affected my kids," Brady said. "So, it's the hardest part about the bittersweet aspect of when you do something that you think is one way and then all of a sudden you realize I wouldn't do that again because of the way it affected the people that I care about the most ... Like I said, when I signed up for that I love when people were making fun of me."

Brady included Bündchen and Moynahan, along with his mother, Galynn, and his sisters, Maureen, Nancy and Julie, in an Mother's Day Instagram post shared on Sunday (May 12), one week after both were mentioned multiple times during his Netflix roast. Moynahan shared the quote, "Loyal people take s–t more personal because they never would’ve did that s–t to you,” along with the caption, "So true," in an Instagram post last on May 6, the day after the roast streamed live on Netflix.

The couple's December 2006 split, which took place while Moynahan was pregnant, was referenced by comedian Nikki Glaser who joked about Brady's extended NFL career and multiple retirement announcements. Bündchen was reported to believe that Brady "once again put football before his family" during the Netflix roast, sources with knowledge of the situation confirmed to Page Six last Tuesday (May 7).

Brady's divorce from Bündchen and her relationship with jiu-jitsu trainer Joaquim Valente was referenced numerous times throughout The Greatest Roast Of All-Time stream, which included host Kevin Hart, among others, implying that the supermodel cheated on the seven-time Super Bowl champion. A source with knowledge of the situation previously told PEOPLE.com that Bündchen, who shares two children with Brady, was "deeply disappointed by the disrespectful portrayal of her family on Sunday evening's roast show."

"As always, [Bündchen's] priority is to support her children who were affected by the irresponsible content that was broadcasted," the source added.

Page Six acknowledged that Brady went along with several jokes about his marriage and Bündchen's relationship with Valente, but warned comedian Jeff Ross "don't say that s**t again" after he told a joke about New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft's 2019 arrest for soliciting prostitution in a Florida massage parlor, which resulted in charges against him being dropped.

In March, Bündchen initially broke her silence after rumors of having cheated on Brady were "amplified."

“That is a lie,” Bündchen said while addressing the speculation in an interview with the New York Times published on March 23.

Bündchen's comments came weeks after reports that Brady had reportedly "accepted" that her relationship with her Valente began "years ago," a source with knowledge of the situation confirmed to the Daily Mail.

“This is something that happens to a lot of women who get blamed when they have the courage to leave an unhealthy relationship and are labeled as being unfaithful,” Bündchen told the New York Times. “They have to deal with their communities. They have to deal with their family. Of course, for me, it just happens to be a little bit amplified.”

In February, Page Six reported that representatives for Brady and Bündchen were disputing in the press over her reported new relationship with Valente, who she was reported to be "deeply in love" with.

“They have been dating since June. They’re taking it slow. They started out as great friends first. She’s very private about this and wanted to keep it quiet while they got to know each other,” the sources claimed.

Sources linked to Brady then claimed that the relationship started much earlier, telling TMZ, "They should add '2021' after June. Then the headline would be accurate."

Brady and Bündchen filed for divorce in October 2022 and were reported to have separated in June 2021. Valente and his brother, also a trainer, had been spotted with Bündchen on several trips to Costa Rica and her native Brazil since November 2022, though the supermodel previously claimed that things were platonic, calling him a "true friend."

A source claimed that Bündchen and Valente were reported to have "had a conversation and became a couple" in July 2023, Page Six reported last week after another source said they saw the two kissing on Valentine's Day in Miami.

The 3-hour long roast covered several other controversial topics including Brady's $30 million losses in Crypto.com, the Patriots' alleged involvement in the Spygate and Deflategate controversies, and the retired quarterback's relationship with longtime head coach Bill Belichick, who also participated in the event.
