Blake Lively, Justin Baldoni Share Steamy Kiss In 'It Ends With Us' Trailer

The moment Colleen Hoover fans have been waiting months for has finally arrived.

Sony Pictures Entertainment just released the highly-anticipated "It Ends With Us" trailer based off Hoover's best-selling novel, and it's a rollercoaster of emotion. Viewers are invited into the life of Lily Bloom and are immediately thrown into a storm of romance and hardship. The tailer shines a spotlight on the opening of Lily's flower shop where she meets romantic interest, Ryle Kincaid. The two fall in love to Taylor Swift Folklore track "My Tears Richochet" just as quickly as their tragic past rips them apart.

"It Ends With Us" production photos began to surface in 2023 that featured Lively with long red hair, and outfits that social media users were not impressed with. Per Entertainment Tonight, Hoover responded to the criticism in June 2023 stating that she never described Bloom's outfits in the book.

"I don't remember describing outfits at all. I don't care what they have on. In my head, it's about the conversation they're having and the story. It's the same way in the movie."

The acclaimed author shared an Instagram video with fans and followers ahead of filming in January 2023 to detail the meaning behind the novel and why the story holds such a special place in her heart.

"I just want everyone to know how appreciative I am to my mother, who got us out of a scary situation when I was a little girl and brought us here to this house which doesn't look like much, but this house was full of love and joy. Thank you, Mom, for making that very difficult decision. This house holds nothing but wonderful memories for me."

The creative continued:

"We are now discussing a movie that's made from a book that was loosely inspired by my mother. It's bittersweet. So many people have had to go through that. But to know that my mom's decision has helped so many people get out of that... I love you, Mom."

"It Ends With Us" is set to hit theaters on August 9th!
