Dolly Parton mourned the loss of her 9 to 5 co-star, Dabney Coleman, in a statement shared on Monday morning (May 20). Coleman’s daughter, Quincy Coleman, confirmed to TMZ that the actor “took his last earthly breath peacefully and exquisitely in his home,” around 1:50 p.m. on Thursday (May 16). He was 92.

Coleman starred alongside Parton in 9 to 5, which also included Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin in the cast. The iconic film made its debut in 1980. Coleman was known for that role in addition to WarGames, Tootsie, You’ve Got Mail, his appearance Yellowstone and more throughout his decades-long career. His cause of death was not immediately known.

“Dabney was a great actor and became a dear friend,” Parton shared in her tribute. “He taught me so much when I was doing my first movie, 9 to 5. He was funny, deep and smart. We remained friends through the years and I will miss him greatly as many people will. Love, Dolly.”

Quincy previously said in a statement: “My father crafted his time here on earth with a curious mind, a generous heart, and a soul on fire with passion, desire and humor that tickled the funny bone of humanity. As he lived, he moved through this final act of his life with elegance, excellence and mastery. …A teacher, a hero, and a king, Dabney Coleman is a gift and blessing in life and in death as his spirit will shine through his work, his loved ones and his legacy...eternally.” Coleman is survived by his four children.
