'Uncle' Lloyd Sings To Ashanti & Nelly's Child During Touching Performance

Lloyd brought a tear to Ashanti's eye after he serenaded her pregnant belly with their iconic collaboration.

On Sunday night, May 19, the seasoned crooner joined the pregnant singer during her set at the Met Philadelphia. While they performed their smash hit "Southside," Lloyd crouched down in front of Ashanti and sang his verse directly to her and Nelly's unborn child. Fans cheered on as he rubbed her belly while Ashanti happily danced to the song. Shortly after the show, Lloyd took to Instagram and posted a tear-jerking message to the new parents and their incoming baby.

“Dear Baby Haynes, you are surrounded by love, by good energy, and by ppl who have prayed for your piece of mind way before you were born,” Lloyd wrote under a photo from their performance. “One day I will tell you of the times I got to sing to you while still in your mothers belly, of how your mommy changed my life, and of how your dad was there for me when I needed a little love and guidance. Can’t wait to meet you and make you laugh. Inshallah, Your Uncle Ladi"

"Omggggg I’m cryinggggg and u know I don’t cry," Ashanti replied. "Thanku Ladi love u soooooooooo much!!!!! Such beautiful and meaningful words… I truly appreciate you so much. I’m literally crying."

A rep for Ashanti and Nelly first confirmed they were expecting their first child back in December months after they rekindled their relationship. Since then, fans have watched Ashanti glow brighter with every performance she's knocked out this year. Last month, Ashanti formally announced her pregnancy in an ad for Proov and followed up with some stunning photos of herself and her baby bump.
