US Women's Basketball Extends Olympics Streak, Advances To Knockout Round

The United States Women's Basketball team defeated Germany, 87-68, during their final Group C matchup on Sunday (August 4) to advance to the knockout stage of the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Jackie Young recorded a game-high 19 points, as well as four rebounds, two assists and four steals off the bench to lead the Americans to a perfect 3-0 record in Group C play. Veteran starters A'Ja Wilson and Breanna Stewart combined to score 27 points as Wilson finished with 14 points, three rebounds, two assists and three steals and Stewart recorded 13 points, three assists and three rebounds.
Team USA has now won 58 consecutive games in Olympic play, a streak that dates back to the 1996 Atlanta Games and have won seven consecutive gold medals.
