Wes Scantlin has had some trouble with the law in recent years, and last week that resulted in a standoff with police. According to TMZ, the Puddle of Mudd frontman was arrested on July 31 after getting pulled over for a traffic violation in Burbank, California. After taking his ID, cops discovered there was active warrant out for his arrest regarding having a weapon at an airport.

The outlet reports that Scantlin refused to leave his vehicle when asked by law enforcement, and after failed attempts by a crisis negotiator and even deploying pepper spray, police called in SWAT at 4 AM to break the window of his Hummer H2 and shoot non-lethal pepper balls into the vehicle, which finally made him surrender and exit the vehicle. He was taken to the hospital to get his eyes flushed, then booked in jail for the previous warrant as well as the new charge of resisting arrest. Scantlin's since been released and has a court date set on August 20.

Scantlin was also arrested last year after reportedly trespassing on the property of his former Hollywood home, which he lost to foreclosure nearly 10 years ago. This was his second trespassing charge, following an incident in 2016.
