Chris Brown wants to make sure the world knows exactly how he feels about being compared to the late Michael Jackson.
The Virginia native emphasized his thoughts about the comparisons on Saturday, August 17, after Tank weighed in on the topic. During his recent appearance on The Stephen A. Smith Show, the R&B singer declared that Brown is better than the King of Pop.
"We talk about Chris Brown, we’re talking about the evolution of Michael Jackson," Tank said. "The evolution of Usher. The evolution of me. The evolution of Ginuwine. That is what this kid is.”
The never-ending debate over Chris Brown and Michael Jackson has popped up several times over the past few years. He addressed the debate for the first time in 2022 when he sat down with Big Boy.
“My personal take on it is I wouldn’t even be breathing or even be able to sing a song if that man didn’t exist,” Brown said. “I don’t know if they look at it as a Jordan-Kobe thing, but I can't even look at it. He’s lightyears ahead. There is no competing with him.”
Brown's thoughts about the debate haven't changed. In an Instagram Story he posted over the weekend, Breezy reposted the clip from Big Boy's interview in response to Tank's comments.
Tank isn't the only artist who believes Brown outshines Jackson's career. Earlier this year, Fat Joe crowned the 11:11 singer as the most talented artist of our time. However, he also highlighted the key difference between Brown and Jackson.
"If Chris Brown never got into the controversy with Rihanna, we would be calling him Michael Jackson right now," Joe explained. "Not like Michael Jackson—Michael Jackson. He is the most talented singer, artist, performer, hitmaker of our time. There’s nobody even close to Chris Brown, and it’s time we move past it. It’s been 20-something years that I know of — there’s been no more incidents. We gon’ let this lifetime go by without saying the truth?"
It looks like Brown wins the popular vote over MJ, but Breezy is doing everything he can to stay away from the debate.
