Lil Jon brought the ATL to Chi-town as he represented his home state during the Democratic National Convention.
The "Get Low" rapper delivered a surprise performance at the DNC in Chicago on Tuesday night, August 20. During the roll call curated by DJ Cassidy, the representatives from Georgia were called upon to cast their votes for the Democratic nominee. That's when Lil Jon screamed "YEEEAHHHH!!" and shocked the crowd by performing his and DJ Snake's hit "Turn Down For What."
"Ladies and gentlemen, we are here tonight to officially nominate Kamala Harris for president," Lil Jon shouted. "DNC, turn down for what!"
Well, the South definitely had something to say! Atlanta native @LilJon joined @RepNikema, @ReverendWarnock and others for Georgia's roll call vote. π pic.twitter.com/2SibTO5Dxu

The King of Crunk made his way around the floor of the United Center and even encouraged attendees to chant "We're not going back." Before he bowed out for the night, Lil Jon flipped his iconic hook from "Get Low" to say "VP Harris, to the Walz" as a nod to the presidential candidate and her running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz. Jon stood with Georgia Representatives Raphael Warnock, Nikema Williams and others as they solidified their support for the Harris/Walz campaign.
Lil Jon's performance was the highlight of DJ Cassidy's "Pass The Mic" style roll call. Each state was represented by music of all genres as they proudly cast their votes for Vice President Harris and Governor Walz. California appropriately played Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg's "The Next Episode," 2Pac's "California Love," and Kendrick Lamar's "Alright" and "Not Like Us." Meanwhile, North Carolina blasted Petey Pablo's "Raise Up" while they declared their
Jon wasn't the only musical guest to hit the stage. The legendary Patti LaBelle opened the event with her hit βYou Are My Friend. Later on, Common hit the stage to perform "Fortunate" from his joint album with Pete Rock. Check out more scenes from the second night of the Democratic National Convention below.
