Sabrina Carpenter and Jenna Ortega are a match made in heaven.

Carpenter enlisted the help of her fellow Disney Channel alum in the fun and gory music video for her latest single "Taste," the opening track on her sixth studio album Short n' Sweet, out Friday (August 23). The hilariously dramatic video sees the duo battling it out over a boyfriend in a love triangle of sorts.

The song explains how the man Carpenter had been seeing has reconnected with his ex, portrayed in the video by Ortega, with lyrics like, "I heard you're back together and if that's true, you'll just have to taste me when he's kissing you."

The music video, which includes a warning about "explicit content" and depictions of "graphic violence," opens with a shot showcasing an assortment of sharp weapons laid out on top of a pink bedspread as Carpenter sweetly sings a dark version of the lullaby "Rock-a-Bye Baby" about how her rival "soon will be dead" before she picks up a tube of lipstick — and a large knife.

The rest of the video features Carpenter and Ortega repeatedly taking shots at each other, sometimes literally, in references to films like Death Becomes Her, Kill Bill, Ginger Snaps and even Psycho. However, the video is full of twists, including a major twist at the end that brings the pair closer together than ever.

Carpenter also celebrated the release of Short n' Sweet with a grateful post on Instagram, writing that she feels "extremely lucky that each time i wrote a new record i learn a little bit more about myself."

"the making of short n' sweet was one of the most special, honest, up and down, stupid and fun experiences of my life," she added. "I though if something was funny enough to make me laugh then maybe it belonged in a song. happy or sad!"
