Lil Durk, 42 Dugg & More Pop Out For Rod Wave's Birthday Concert

Rod Wave invited his famous friends to hit the stage at his special birthday concert in his home state.

The festivities went down on Saturday, August 24, at the Amelia Arena in Tampa, which is minutes away from his hometown of St. Petersburg. “Rod Wave & Friends Birthday Celebration Concert II" was the party of the century for some fans. During the show, the Nostalgia rapper surprised the fans with sets by his friends like Lil Durk. Durk was joined by OTF's Doodie Lo as he performed songs like "Hellcats & Trackhawks." He even brought a die-hard fan with him on stage after they met for the first time.

Rod Wave also had Lil Poppa, YTB Fatt, 42 Dugg, Tom G and more come through with memorable performances. Of course, the 25-year-old, who was celebrating his 26th birthday, also belted out numerous hits for his fans like "Lonely" and "Green Light." The show also featured elements of his "Nostalgia Tour" including the infamous balcony he used for his performance of "Come See Me." During the show, Rod got up on the rail as if he was preparing to fall backward as he'd done in the past. However, this time he stepped off before the end of the song and flashed a message that had the suicide prevention hotline.

It's been nearly a year since Rod Wave dropped his Nostalgia album featuring 21 Savage, Sadie Jean and Wet. A month after the album arrived, he hit the road for a 35-city arena tour beginning at Pinnacle Bank Arena in Lincoln, NE on October 19. Rod Wave wrapped up his tour last December at the VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville. Several months after the tour ended, Rod prepped fans for his next project by sharing his recent single "Numb."
