Miami Dolphins Pro Bowl cornerback Jalen Ramsey has reportedly agreed to a three-year, $72.3 million extension, which will include a $24.1 million annual salary, once again making him the highest-paid cornerback in the NFL, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport and Cameron Wolfe reported on Friday (September 6).

"The #Dolphins and All-Pro CB Jalen Ramsey have agreed on another huge extension, this time a 3-year, $72.3M deal to make him the highest paid CB in the NFL again(!), per me and @CameronWolfe. The $24.1M per year deal was negotiated by @DavidMulugheta of @AthletesFirst," Rapoport wrote on his X account. "The 3-year, $72.3M extension that includes $55.3M guaranteed was agreed to a couple days ago, but Ramsey wanted to wait until he was back on the field to release it. Safe to say he'll be at practice today."

Ramsey remained one of the NFL's best cornerbacks, despite battling injuries during his first season with the Dolphins in 2023. The former Florida State University standout recorded 22 tackles, three interceptions and five passes defended in 10 games last season, having missed the first few weeks of the season while recovering from a full meniscus repair in his left knee.

Ramsey was acquired in a trade with the Los Angeles Rams that included a third-round pick and tight end Hunter Long being sent to Los Angeles, as well as the Dolphins giving Ramsey an additional $25 million guaranteed while taking on his previous two-year deal paying an average of $20 million annually, Rapoport reported at the time. The Tennessee native's five-year, $105 million extension with Los Angeles in 2020 previously made him the highest-paid defensive back in NFL history.

Ramsey won Super Bowl LVI during his third season with the Rams, having spent his first four seasons with the Jacksonville Jaguars.
