Bruno Mars' Doo-Wops & Hooligans album is iconic. With hits like "Just The Way You Are," "Marry You," "Grenade," and "Talking To The Moon," there are so many amazing tracks that came from Mars' debut album — but where did Doo-Wops and Hooligans come from, anyway?
Speaking to iHeartRadio, Bruno said, "My father put me on to doo-wap music when I was a young lad. I think when I write, my style is a little influenced by that, because doo-wop music is real simple, four chords, and lyrically incredible, but it's just straight to the point. And I think 'Just The Way You Are' and songs like that have a doo-wop sound. And the hooligans, you know, I'm a young man, I'm not in the studio all the time, nerding out, writing songs. I like to have fun. So, Doo-Waps and Hooligans."
Elsewhere in the interview, Bruno also talked about his collaborations with B.o.B. and Travie McCoy.
