Kendrick Lamar opened his mouth and the Recording Academy gave him multiple awards during the 2025 Grammys.

On Sunday night, February 2, the Compton native collected four of the seven trophies he was nominated for at the 67th Annual Grammy Awards. During the live broadcast, Kendrick Lamar won Record of the Year thanks to his smash hit "Not Like Us." Lamar went up on stage in a Canadian tux with the song's producer Mustard to accept the award from presenter Miley Cyrus. During his speech, he shared that his aunt Sharon passed away the day before and dedicated his win to her.

"Rest in paradise my aunt Sharon she transitioned yesterday so this is special right now," he said.

Kendrick Lamar returned to the podium shortly afterward to accept the award for Song of the Year from presenter Diana Ross. Lamar was accompanied by Mustard and his business partner Dave Free as he shouted out Ab-Soul, Jay Rock and JAY-Z, who was in the audience when he won. Prior to the live broadcast, Kendrick Lamar's diss track aimed at Drake took home other awards including Best Rap Performance, Best Rap Song and Best Music Video. Kendrick Lamar has 22 trophies thus far. With JAY-Z and Ye tied at 24, the pgLang co-founder is on his way to becoming the most-awarded rapper of all time, especially if his GNX album is nominated next year.

There were plenty of celebrities in the crowd who were turning up while Kendrick Lamar's award-winning song played inside the Crypto.com Arena including BeyoncΓ© and Taylor Swift, who was spotted shouting the "A Minorrrrr" line along with the rest of the crowd.
