Jelly Roll paid a visit to his alma mater to help offer “some comfort during a difficult time,” after a tragedy took place at the school last month.

The Beautifully Broken star grew up in the Antioch neighborhood of Nashville, Tennessee, and recently stopped by Antioch High School to meet with students and staff weeks after a fatal shooting took place. Metro Nashville Public Schools shared a few photos from Jelly Roll’s visit on Instagram on Wednesday (February 26). The award-winning artist made his appearance at the school on Tuesday (February 25).

“Music superstar [Jelly Roll] visited [Antioch High School] on Tuesday to talk to students and staff about the tragedy that took place there last month,” Metro Nashville Public Schools’ caption reads, displaying photos of the beloved artist posing for selfies with students and staff. “Thank you, Jelly Roll, for reaching out to the Antioch community and offering some comfort during a difficult time. We appreciate your support!”

Metro Nashville Police Department officials previously confirmed that a male student, 17, allegedly fired multiple shots in the cafeteria shortly after 11 a.m. on Wednesday, January 22. The incident resulted in two deaths, including the alleged suspect, identified by authorities as Solomon Henderson, who reportedly turned the weapon on himself, and a 16-year-old female student authorities identified as Josselin Corea Escalante. Two other students were injured in the incident.

Jelly Roll has not publicly shared photos or comments on his recent visit to Antioch High School as of publication time on Thursday (February 27); however, the singer-songwriter has often talked about his hometown and given back to others. He titled his 2023 debut country record Whitsitt Chapel in honor of the church he attended in Antioch.

Jelly Roll is one of many country stars nominated at the 2025 iHeartRadio Music Awards. This year’s show will also pay tribute to the resiliency and rebuilding of Los Angeles following the devastating wildfires affecting the entire community and will drive donations to Fireaidla.org. Contributions made to FireAid will be distributed under the advisement of the Annenberg Foundation, for short-term relief efforts and long-term initiatives to prevent future fire disasters. The Annenberg Foundation, with decades of philanthropic leadership in the community, including rapid response, will help coordinate a team to direct funds for the greatest impact.
