Dolly Parton To Debut Another New Book This Year — What To Know

Dolly Parton will release a new children’s book at the end of the year.

The beloved country star announced her upcoming book on Tuesday morning (April 29). Billy The Kid Dances His Heart Out is “the third standalone children’s picture book in Parton’s New York Times bestselling series featuring French bulldog, her god-dog, Billy the Kid,” reads the description on Parton’s website. The new book follows Billy the Kid Makes It Big and Billy the Kid Comes Home for Christmas. Parton describes the new Billy The Kid story:

“French bulldog and musical superstar Billy the Kid faces one of his biggest fears: dancing in front of an audience. To prepare for his exciting gig opening for Dolly Parton’s Doggy Dance Pawty, Billy enrolls in dance lessons and is paw-struck by his teacher, Bella, who is as graceful as she is beautiful. But trying to win Bella’s attention causes Billy to stumble even more—can he nail the dance routine and catch Bella’s eye, all before the big dance pawty?”

Parton will release a new original song, “Bella,” along with the book when it releases on December 2.

Parton also recently announced another upcoming book, Star of the Show: My Life on Stage, which serves as “a celebration of my journey as a performer, filled with personal stories, cherished memories, and never-before-seen photos from more than seven decades on stage.” That book is the final installment of a “photographic trilogy,” following wing 2020’s Dolly Parton, Songteller: My Life in Lyrics and 2023’s Behind the Seams: My Life in Rhinestones. Star of the Show: My Life on Stage will release shortly before Parton’s new children’s book, on November 11.
