Kodak Black's lawyer is responding after the rapper's former girlfriend made some pretty shocking allegations recently.
Maranda Johnson, the mother of Yak's two kids, took to her Instagram Stories last week and claimed the Florida rapper was absent from their kids' lives. She claimed she's been taking care of their kids physically and financially for over a year. She also said she's "scared" of Kodak after he allegedly sent people to throw acid in her face. Bradford Cohen, Kodak's longtime lawyer, responded to Johnson's allegation and called them "made up stories."
"Made up stories where we have evidence of Kodak not only paying and giving money for his children, but also buying gifts," Cohen wrote.
"The rest is pure fiction from a very selfish young lady," Cohen continued. "I didn't want to comment on this young lady committing defamation which we will sue her for, but also for the over 150k worth of damage she did to 7 cars and smashing a window of the house that had his kids inside. She fought another mother of kodaks young child hurt the child and the mother at a b day party that kodak paid thousands of dollars for his daughter."
Cohen is referring to incidents that happened within the past year. Johnson was reportedly arrested last summer on charges of burglary with assault or battery and grand theft after she allegedly fought Yak's other child's mother Jammiah "Maya" Broomfield. Johnson was arrested a couple of weeks after she allegedly busted the windshields of several vehicles Kodak owns. She posted a photo of the damage to her Instagram Story and reportedly challenged Broomfield to a fight.
Then, back in January, Johnson was involved in an argument that led to a fight with the other mother of Kodak's kids. The fight happened at a birthday party for Yak and Johnson's youngest daughter Queen Yuri. Cohen said Johnson's latest claims are part of a "money grab" and alleged Johnson won't let the rapper see his kids until he pays up.
"It's really disgusting money grab, not allowing him to see his kids until he pays an ungodly sum of money," Cohen continued. "It is truly disgusting how fathers are treated as cash cows. She is already being sued for the admitted damage to the vehicles and home. She will now be sued for defamation. I really wanted to stay on the sidelines on this because it's family law. But now I will have to show why you don't threaten my clients."
As of this report, Maranda Johnson has not responded to Cohen's statement.
