King Charles III made a rare comment about his cancer treatment while speaking to another cancer patient this week.

The British monarch spoke to 22-year-old Exeter University student Stamford Collins, who is also undergoing cancer treatment at The Education and Skills Garden Party at Buckingham Palace on Wednesday (May 14) where he hinted at ways he has handled some of the side effects of his own treatment, per People.

"He was asking me about the treatment I have starting in June and spoke to me about food and diet," Collin said, recounting his conversation with the king, The Telegraph reports. "He also asked me if I had undergone radiation treatment, which I had earlier this year."

The king was also overheard reportedly offering some helpful advice, saying, "It's sometimes about the diet and what you eat. It can help."

Diet is seemingly important to King Charles, as Tom Parker Bowles, the son of Queen Camilla and a food writer, previously shared that both royals eat "simple, healthy and resolutely seasonal food" and that "there is no waste" at their table.

In February 2024, Buckingham Palace announced that King Charles had been diagnosed with cancer, though the specific kind was not revealed. Since going public with the diagnosis, the monarch has given a few health updates and shared messages of support to others facing their own health troubles. Earlier this month, he revealed what has helped him get through some of the "darkest moments" of his battle.
