YoungBoy Never Broke Again is feeling grateful and focused after POTUS pardoned him.
YB was one of the numerous people who received a pardon during President Donald Trump's latest round of pardons on Wednesday, May 28. The 25-year-old artist had just been released from prison after serving a year of his sentence. He was supposed to spend the next five years on supervised release, but now he's been given a clean slate. Shortly after learning about his pardon, the prominent rapper issued a statement to his Instagram Story thanking President Trump, Pardon Czar Alice Marie Johnson and everyone who believed in him.
"I want to thank President Trump for granting me a pardon and giving me the opportunity to keep building—as a man, as a father and as an artist," he wrote. "The moment means a lot. It opens the door to a future I've worked hard for and I'm fully prepared to step into this."
YoungBoy's pardon couldn't have come at a better time. Following his release from prison, the Louisiana native announced the dates for his upcoming "Make America Slime Again (MASA) Tour." YB will bring special guests DeeBaby, EBK Jaaybo and K3 with him for his 27-city tour beginning in Dallas on September 2. The tour will hit up major cities around the U.S. throughout the summer until it concludes in New Orleans on October 19. Tickets are on sale now.
YB joins a rare group of rappers and figures in Hip-Hop pardoned by Trump in recent years. Lil Wayne and Kodak Black received pardons from the president before he left office in 2021. Other prominent names in rap, including Roc Nation's chief executive Desiree Perez and Death Row's Michael "Harry-O" Harris, were also pardoned by Trump. In addition, Trump also commuted the federal life sentences of Gangster Disciples founder Larry Hoover nearly four years after Ye and Drake held a benefit concert to free him.
