BabyCenter.com said many parents were following '90s trends in naming their children with the names of iconic popstars such as Britney [Spears] and Shania [Twain], characters such as Sabrina [the Teenage Witch], and Diana, shared with the beloved princess of Wales killed in 1997, all making significant rises. Millennial children's names such as Kelsey and Briana were also reported to have risen up the rankings.

Parents have also used names of luxury brands such as Tiffany and Bentley for girls, as well as Monolo and Laurent for boys, while other terms such as Lux, Treasure and Cash been part of upward trends. Recent Academy Award nominees also led to significant movement with the name Anora, the title of the film that won Best Picture, jumped 1,105 spots for girls and the first names of actor Adrien Brody and Kieran Culkin, as well as actress Cynthia Erivo, all saw significant rises.
