Influencer Chrystofer Whyte Dead At 18

TikTok influencer Chrystofer A. Whyte died at the age of 18 after being fatally shot at a New Jersey beach last month, the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office announced in a press release shared on Monday (July 1).

A juvenile defendant, whose name wasn't revealed publicly due to his age, was served with juvenile complaints that include murder, conspiracy to commit unlawful possession of a weapon, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, possession of a prohibited weapon and hindering in connection to Whyte's death. Dwayne Exilus, 18, of Woodbridge, was charged with second-degree conspiracy to commit unlawful possession of a weapon (handgun), second-degree unlawful possession of a weapon, third-degree hindering, and one count of fourth-degree possession of a prohibited weapon.

The Long Branch Police Department responded to the beach area after a report of shots fired on June 12. Officers discovered an adult male victim, later identified as Whyte, suffering from a single gunshot wound upon arrival before he was later pronounced dead at the scene. An investigation into the incident is ongoing.

Whyte, of New Brunswick, shared two videos on the day of his death, including one from the beach, on his TikTok account @hi.imchrys.

“Stay away from ppl that ignore you until they need you,” he wrote in the caption on one video.
