Lewis Capaldi is opening up about how therapy helped him "be a musician" again following his hiatus.

The "Someone You Loved" singer made his triumphant return to the stage at Glastonbury last month after a two-year break to focus on his mental health and manage his Tourette's syndrome, which he was diagnosed with in 2022. The performance also marked a full-circle moment for the Scottish musician as the last time he performed at the festival in 2023, he made "the most difficult decision of my life" to cancel the remainder of his shows and take a break "for the foreseeable future," per People.

On Monday (July 7), Capaldi shared a video with online therapy site BetterHelp on Instagram sharing how therapy helped him during his break, stressing in the caption, "can't over emphasize how important therapy has been over the last few years in getting me back to a place where I feel ready and able to get on stage again."

"Therapy has been such a massive part of my last two years, a massive part of the reason I've been able to be a musician again. I feel like if I can be a part of sharing that with other people, why not?" he said in the clip.

He also reflected on his own struggles with anxiety, noting that even though he will likely "always be an anxious person," there are steps he can take to manage it.

"I think accepting that that's always going to be there for me is a big thing. It's about how I respond to anxiety," he said, adding, "For me it's accepting that I'm always going to have this stuff there."

Capaldi also announced that he is teaming up with BetterHelp to give away 734,000 hours of free therapy to those who want to start their own mental health journey, representing a thousand hours for every days since he last performed on stage prior to his 2025 Glastonbury set.
