Kelly Clarkson recently pulled out of her upcoming benefit concert appearance in Austin, Texas, following the death of her ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock.

According to US Weekly, the "Stronger" songstress was slated to perform at the Band Together Texas benefit concert on August 17, but will no longer be joining Miranda Lambert, Cody Johnson, and Parker McCollum on stage.

The flood relief benefit shared news of Clarkson's absence on their Instagram Story on Monday (August 11), citing "personal circumstances." This is not the first event the standout has canceled to be present for her children, River, 11, and Remington, 9, whom she shared with Blackstock, following the death of their dad.

"Unfortunately, I need to postpone the remainder of the August Studio Session dates in Las Vegas. While I normally keep my personal life private, this past year, my children’s father has been ill, and at this moment, I need to be fully present for them. I am sincerely sorry to everyone who bought tickets to the shows, and I so appreciate your grace, kindness, and understanding," she wrote on Instagram on August 7, the same day her ex-husband's passing was announced.

On Friday (August 8) a source told People that the "Since U Been Gone" hitmaker was "devastated" for her children.

"When she found out that he was sick, she remained protective of him for their sake. Kelly has always tried to keep things classy. It became clear earlier this year that Brandon was not doing well. She’s been devastated for the kids."
