Dolly Parton teased more details about her soon-to-debut Life of Many Colors Museum.
The legendary country star, 79, will offer unique glimpses of her life and “expansive career” in her own museum, which is slated to open inside her upcoming SongTeller Hotel in Nashville, Tennessee. The museum will invite “fans to experience Dolly’s expansive career and most personal memories through the eyes of Dolly herself. Opening on the third floor of Dolly Parton’s [SongTeller Hotel] in the heart of Nashville, Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum will be the largest exhibit celebrating her life in the world to date, spanning every dynamic decade from the top of the mountains to the top of the world,” reads an announcement posted in early June.
“Introducing Dolly’s Hall Of Fame Exhibit at her Life Of Many Colors Museum,” states the latest update posted on Monday evening (August 25), along with a rendering of the museum. “Here we celebrate Dolly’s career achievements as her success has continued to reach new heights in the 21st century. From wardrobe, to awards, to visual content spotlighting her cultural impact today, attendees will leave The Hall Of Fame Exhibit with memories and perhaps a photo or two from the platform stage. We can’t wait to reveal more of this highly-anticipated museum experience in the weeks to come. Stay tuned 🦋✨”
The Life of Many Colors Museum will be open alongside Parton’s Journey of a Seeker exhibit the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum, which made its debut this spring. That exhibit offers an exploration of Parton’s timeless music, her iconic film roles, her philanthropic work (including with her Imagination Library), her glamorous fashion moments and more. Some of the items on display include Parton’s first draft of handwritten lyrics of “Jolene,” the wardrobe from her 9 to 5 film in the 1980s, a custom-built banjo and more. Dolly Parton: Journey of a Seeker is open now through September 2026.
Parton’s SongTeller Hotel aims to be “a hub of music, style, and hospitality designed the Dolly-way.” Renderings and other sneak peeks have been shared on the upcoming venue’s Instagram account since early June. The SongTeller Hotel and the Life of Many Colors Museum are both expected to open in 2026.
