Miranda Lambert said it was “an honor” to pay tribute to two legendary country artists while filming a music video with Chris Stapleton.
Lambert and Stapleton “had legends there in spirit with us during the filming of the ‘A Song to Sing’ music video,” she shared in a caption on Instagram on Wednesday (September 3), sharing photos by Tyler Conrad. “We wore jewelry from the [Dolly Parton] & [Kenny Rogers] estates. What an honor.”
“These are Dolly Parton’s hoops,” Lambert said as she pointed out the earrings she was wearing in a clip she shared on the second slide of her Instagram post. Stapleton was wearing Rogers’ necklace.
Lambert and Stapleton “had ourselves a time at the skating rink” while filming the retro, 70s-worthy music video, which premiered last month. the two country stars teamed up with Jesse Frasure and Jenee Fleenor to write “A Song to Sing,” which tells “the truth of giving one’s soul to the music and heart to the one at home.”
“Chris understands the emotion of this song from the inside out, because he and Morgane [Stapleton’s wife] have both lived it,” Lambert previously said. “To have someone so soulful and willing to go into the heart of the feelings, to share the pull of the road and creative life — and what that means when you love someone with every bit of your being is next level. When we finished it, we both knew we wanted to release it, to share it with everyone.”
