Charli XCX is enjoying the married life, despite her initial reservations.

Months after tying the knot with The 1975's George Daniel, the Brat musician explained in a new interview with Vanity Fair that she didn't always see herself as a bride, and in fact never really expected to get married, per People.

"It's cool to be married," she said, though she "never really saw it for myself to be honest."

Charli's outlook is seemingly similar to that of her parents, Jon and Shameera Aitchison, who she said didn't get married until she was 16 and they felt like the moment was just right. She told VF, "I think one day they were, like, feeling it... And I think that's so sweet."

She and the drummer, who got engaged in November 2023, first tied the knot in a private ceremony in London in July, exchanging vows in a small civil ceremony at Hackney Town Hall surrounded by only a handful of guests. They said "I do" again last month in an Italian ceremony in Sicily with more guests, including Daniel's The 1975 bandmates Matty Healy, Ross MacDonald and Adam Hann.

The "Apple" singer explained that she wanted their wedding to feel like "just another cool day" without the pressure of what society deems as "the day of your life as a woman."

"It was cool to feel so in love, and do it our way," she said. "We both kind of just wanted to not feel the pressures of the things you're supposed to feel when you get married."
