Soulja Boy, Safaree, and others are leading a campaign to encourage President Donald Trump to pardon Sean Kingston and his mother, Janice Turner.
According to a report TMZ published on Thursday, November 6, the "Beautiful Girls" singer's attorneys filed a pardon application that includes letters written by his famous friends, as well as streamer Jack Doherty. In the letters, SB, Safaree and Doherty advocate for Kingston and his mom's freedom. Soulja Boy claimed the legal situation they're in is "heartbreaking and wrong," while Safaree alleged that their incarceration is the "type of injustice he's been trying to combat."
Sean Kingston and Janice Turner were arrested last year on wire fraud charges. Kingston's home was raided after Ver Ver Entertainment sued him over an unpaid bill of $150,000 for an entertainment system. The lawsuit sparked an investigation that revealed Kingston failed to pay other major bills for expensive jewelry like a Richard Mille watch worth $534,000 and a Patek Philippe Calibre priced at $378,000. According to the indictment, Kingston and Turner were also on the hook for $200,000 from Bank of America, $160,000 from a luxury SUV dealer, over $100,000 from First Republic Bank, and $86,000 from a custom bed manufacturer.
Kingston and Turner were both convicted earlier this year. Turner was sentenced to five years in prison and three months of probation. She was also ordered to pay restitution. Meanwhile, Kingston was sentenced to 3.5 years in prison and 3 years of supervised release. While in prison, half of Anderson's salary must go toward his restitution and 10% of his monthly gross earnings will be applied to repayment once he gets out.
As of this report, the White House has not commented on the pardon request. Kingston isn't the only one begging Trump for a pardon. Sean "Diddy" Combs is also in line for a presidential pardon. He reportedly told fellow inmates that the POTUS plans to pardon him in early 2026.
