Taylor Swift is giving fans an "unprecedented" look behind the curtains backstage in the trailer for her upcoming Eras Tour documentary.

On Thursday (November 13), the Life of a Showgirl singer shared a new trailer on Instagram for The End of an Era, a six-part docuseries that shows all the work that went in to creating the record-breaking Eras Tour during it's nearly two-year run, noting that it was "the biggest challenge" she and everyone who worked on the show have ever tackled.

"This was a seismic, momentous period of time in my life and in the lives of anyone who this tour touched," she said.

Swift added that the tour touched more than just those who worked on it and that it has a major impact on the fans who attended the shows every night she hit the stage.

"I'm very aware of mysterious forces at play that I will never have any control of," she said. "This show created a bonding experience for like 70,000 people all at once. There's something very special about that."

The "Fate of Ophelia" hitmaker also admitted that the idea for the Eras Tour was in the works long before she first hit the road in 2023, revealing in the trailer that she came up with the concept "about two years" before it finally became a reality.

"I wanted to overserve the fans, in terms of the amount of songs they were going to hear and how far I was going to push myself," she said. "My main goal is to give something to the fans that they didn't expect."

Even though the tour wrapped up in December 2024, Swift is continuing to make good on that promise with the new docuseries, which comes out just in time for her birthday on December 13.

"Honestly can't think of a better way to celebrate my (almost) birthday than to relive the Eras Tour with you! This time we're going backstage," she wrote in the caption. "'The End of an Era,' a 6-episode behind-the-scenes docuseries, streams on @disneyplus beginning Dec 12 🫶"

The "Opalite" musician first announced the tour docuseries in October, telling fans that they "wanted to remember every moment leading up to the culmination of the most important and intense chapter of our lives, so we allowed filmmakers to capture this tour and all the stories woven throughout it as it wound down."

Additionally, she is sharing the last show from the tour in a new live recording Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour: The Final Show, which comes out the same day as the series and features her final Eras Tour performance from her show along with new songs that were not included in the first Eras Tour concert film.

Both The End of an Era and Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour: The Final Show premiere December 12 on Disney+.
