The crash took place at 2:10 p.m. local time, at which point the pilot had already flown across the air show site several times. The plane appeared to suddenly lose control and dove directly toward the ground moments before crashing inside the airfield grounds.
Black smoke was seen over the Al Maktoum international Airport where the Dubai Air Show had taken place. Friday's show was scheduled to be the last of the weeklong event and attracted a large crowd.
