50 Cent is preparing to release his long-awaited documentary about Sean "Diddy" Combs' criminal case.
On Tuesday, November 25, the rapper-filmmaker and Netflix shared the first preview for Sean Combs: The Reckoning. The brief clip doesn't show much from the program, but it does play audio that says, "You can't continue to hurt people, and nothing happens. It's just a matter of time." Fif and the streaming service also revealed the official poster and confirmed the docu-series will debut on December 2.
"They said I was capping, 🤷 what happened? GLG 🚦GreenLightGang 🎥 G-unit Film & TV," 50 Cent wrote in his caption.
50 Cent and his film company, G-Unit Film and Television, have been cooking up the documentary for the past two years. A rep confirmed that the program was in production in 2023 before Fif sold the idea to Netflix last year. He reportedly wanted to call the series Diddy Do It. It seems like the title was updated after Combs was convicted on two counts of violating the Mann Act earlier this year. Fif also plans to donate the proceeds from the documentary to victims of sexual assault.
Combs is currently serving a 50-month sentence behind bars at FCI Fort Dix in New Jersey. He's expected to be released in June 2028, which is a month longer than originally planned. Although there's no word on why his sentence was extended by a month, it's possible that it could be due to the issues he's reportedly experienced in his first week, from being caught with prison hooch to participating in an illegal 3-way call.
