Clint Black canceled an upcoming performance “due to a medical emergency,” according to a statement on Wednesday (July 1).
The country star, 64, was set to take the stage on Friday (July 3) in Mississippi; however, he ended up in the hospital over the weekend. The statement from Black and his team, which was posted on Instagram, reads:
“Clint Black’s performance at the Pearl River Resort Casino, scheduled for Friday, July 3, 2026, has been cancelled due to a medical emergency. Clint was admitted to the hospital on Sunday with infected tonsils requiring emergency intravenous antibiotic treatment. Clint is on the mend and will make a full recovery and is expected to be discharged from the hospital later this week. Clint and his management team sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this cancellation may cause. All tickets will be fully refunded from the original point of purchase.”
Black was also set to take part in the all-star Nashville's Star-Spangled Bash, hosted by Ryan Seacrest, on the Fourth of July. Other artists in the lineup include Brothers Osborne, Little Big Town, Reba McEntire, Tim McGraw, The All-American Rejects, Boyz II Men, Elizabeth Nichols, Emily Ann Roberts, John Crist, Lauren Daigle, Nick Jonas, NE-YO and Sublime. It wasn’t immediately clear whether Black’s medical emergency would impact his ability to take part in the show, which airs live from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. CT on Saturday, July 4 on ABC, ABC News Live, which streams on Disney+ and Hulu, the ESPN App, Freeform, FX and NatGeo.
