Speaker 1 (00:01):
It is the best of two pros and a couple
of Joe with LaVar, Rady Quinn and Jonas Knocks on

of Joe Arton, Brady Quinn, Jonas knocks. He's back. He's bad,
(00:25):

How bad at the Dublin Destroyers back he said that
he was Lamar Braden uh Jackson Quinn. Yeah, just disappeared.
(01:06):
They said they said you didn't have an agent, that
you were having negotiation issues with corporate. No, no, there
no we we welcome the new addition to the family
we've got and we got our first boy. Yeah, yeah,
so um that you're just uh, we were just kind
(01:26):
of getting getting adjusted to a new normal with with
what is now four kids instead of three. But uh no,
we we just needed a little time, a little time
to take it all in. How does it feel to
have a boy? Man? It's cool, it's awesome, But I
actually think it's it's probably like everyone's asking me that,
and I am. I always go back and I'm like, well,
you know, Alicia's really been like yearning for that mother's
(01:50):
son connection, and you know, she spends a lot of
time with them right now, so I think she feels
it more than I do. But they'll definitely come a
time where I'm sure it'll I'll have that moment. I mean,
obviously when he was born, I did, but as of
right now, like she spends so much time with him
one on one, I don't really get quite as much
of that connection for that feeling. But she for sure
(02:13):
has said that she does. Yeah you will, you will.
Yeah that the bigger he gets and the more he
turns into a person, it all it's pretty cool. And
I will say, the real story is much better than
some of the stuff LaVar was trying to claim. You
were gone for life. It was horrible, man, the things
that was coming out last week. Little LaVar at one
(02:35):
point said, you uh, you know it was a p
D violation. I wish you knows. My voice is still
not Our family has been sick for like a month.
Now here's what I'll say right now. Okay, I'm not
one for conspiracy theories. Okay, Oh, whatever the hell is
going around right now, it has to be man made.
(02:56):
Like I've never been sick this long in my life.
In my life, I've never dealt with anything like this.
I've had three kids for the past three years. Um,
we've had three kids. We've never gotten sick like this.
Anyone out there who's doctors telling you, like, oh yeah,
this is just this year's flu, this is just this
year's cold bs, this is something different, Like our bodies
(03:22):
are under attack. I've talked to other people about this too.
They're like, we haven't been healthy, like since the start
of the twenty twenty three, Like someone's been sick in
our family like every other week. It is unbelievable. Like
I don't know what's going on. But it's the aliens.
They're they're pipe man, Yeah, out watching a bunch of
UFO stuff. So yeah, and you know, all of a sudden,
(03:45):
those are real. By the way, I don't know if
you guys know that or that now that now all
of those things always made up. I wake up every
morning and see a UFO so you know, yeah, yeah,
well listen, we're happy to have you back, and congratulations.
(04:07):
And it was Jonas's fantasies of you talking about I'm
sure you know, I know how this goes go down
Jonas Lane and you know, and he tells everybody what
what's going on, and yeah, there's so much amatry and
so many details to it. Listen. It's a way to
see who's listening and how often they listen, because if
(04:27):
you make up a different lie every single day, uh
you know that, like who's been around on what day?
Who heard the second lie? Who heard the third lie?
And so we started p D suspension and then we
went to you were boycotting it. There was a contract
dispute thrown in there, hence the Lamar Jackson stuff. So look, no,
(04:48):
I do have an update on that though. Oh yeah,
what's up. Well, what's his last name. It's it's Ken something, right,
that's that's the guy lives that's helping out. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
he doesn't live too far from us. And up apparently
he's been he's been selling a bunch of home gym equipment. Right.
I was unaware of this, but uh yeah, I looked
into a little bit deeper. He's been selling a lot
(05:08):
of this, this home gym equipment. But the odd thing
about it being a home gym equipment is he's advertised
that you take it with you so you can take
it into like a field or to a park or something,
which doesn't really make it a home gym anymore. It
kind of makes it more of like a mobile gym.
But I digressum that situation. Wow, yeah, I mean, why
(05:29):
don't we just talk about it? What the hell's going on? Man?
Because now, like the latest thing with Jeremy Fowler of
ESPN was saying that the Ravens are telling free agents like, yeah,
you know, we'd like to have Lamar back, but we
can't fully commit to it, and you know, we're just
not quite what you think. Like the guy's got, you know,
some guy with a mobile gym equipment, doing his negotiations
(05:53):
and then reaching out and every time of Lamar wants
to deny any of this stuff, he just goes to
Twitter with some face emoji. The whole thing is bizarre.
The whole thing's weird. I just I don't see how
this gets resolved and everybody's on the same page and
it's kumbaya when they get into the season. I don't
see it. There's there's only one reason why Lamar Jackson
(06:15):
would would be able to come back and make it
through this season, and that's the fact that he plays
them the one year, not exclusive franchise tag, and it's
as much money as he's ever made his career to
play for one year. You know, I think when you're
at his point, you've played now five years. He was
the thirty second draft pick of that class, so they
(06:36):
picked up the fifth year option, they get all that.
But now you find yourself and it's not exclusive franchise tag,
that he'll be able to double the money that he's made.
That's got to be still enticing enough for him to
come back and play, regardless of the circumstances with the Ravens.
Because we've seen all this works out. If he doesn't
come back, the contract just tolls for another year, and
(06:58):
so what a year from now out we get a
bunch of teams who are like, you know what, we're
gonna need of a quarterback, and yeah, let's kick the
tires at old Lamar Jackson. Let's just let's just see
where things go. I don't know if it's collusion or not.
I don't really care if it is, because the NFLPA
is not going to stop it, and you know, there's
no way of really proving it. But at this point,
(07:19):
the NFL is spoken. No one's submitted an offer sheet.
The Baltimore Ravens, who've drafted him and tried to develop
and to help him, brought in a new OC this offseason,
drafted a first round wide receiver and Rashad Bateman previously.
I mean, they're looking at it like, dude, what more
can we do? What more can we do to support you?
At this point, you turned out one hundred and thirty
(07:40):
three million dollars, the second most guaranteed at signing of
any contract ever in the NFL, and you're not willing
to commit to us. So at this point, like, yeah,
like I could see how there'd be a fraction relationship
on both sides. But we know this doesn't really go
anywhere because I don't think a year from now, if
he sits out, there's gonna be a willing team to
go for his services. Like everyone wants to talk about
(08:02):
the MVP season, it was years ago. I mean, the
Packers are moving on from here in Rodgers after two
MVP seasons. They were just waiting for the year he
didn't hit the MVP and they're moving on. So I
just I don't I don't think this is really going
to work out the way he had hoped. He should
have taken the offer they had given him. It's fractured
my relationship to the scenario, the situation, all of it.
(08:25):
Like I'm are you tired of it? I'm tired. I'm
so tired, Like I'm so I am so this situation fatigued,
and and there's so like there's no more angles, Like
I just gotta be honest, there's just no more angles.
Let's try and come up with a different one every day.
You know I can do it. I mean, I just
(08:46):
I just don't have the mental capacity or the emotional
stability to this this situation, to continue to try to
figure it out. There. You God, did you think it
was gonna end up like this? Because I thought for
sure at Oh, they're going to figure out a way
to make this work. Both sides want to be there.
They love Lamar Jackson, he loves the Ravens. He loves
football too much. They're going to figure out a way
(09:07):
for this to work. We're not at the point to
where he's got some guy slinging Jim equipment in Brady's
neighborhood parks that's now calling teams to try and see
if he can get an offer sheet for him. It's
just little things bizarre. There's no way. First of all,
I thought there would be a team that would actually
take a shot at it, take a stab at it,
(09:30):
like nobody, nothing at all at all. Yeah, there you go,
there you can come nobody. So, I mean, the market
has spoken, and like you said, for good or for worse,
for colluding or not colluding, I'll put it to you
like this, I can't believe that there's not a franchise
(09:53):
that if they really really want it, Lamar Jackson is like, yeah,
I'm not doing it because the other guys aren't doing it.
They don't want to do it like Cleveland didn't take
that advice. Cleveland didn't seem to play by the colluding rules.
So I just don't you know, for me, I'm so
sick of it. I'm sick of it, and honestly, I
(10:13):
want to get to, you know, the draft, Like there
were some really cool pro days, nice nice pro days,
performances and stuff like that. Like this to me right now,
like fighting over this, It's like it's not going anywhere.
You know, you know that the relationship is damaged, regardless
of if they can salvage it or not. Maybe that
(10:35):
becomes the biggest storyline moving forward, but it is like
you are where you are right now, so you better
look at where your feet are and you better start
making some realistic decisions where your feet are not where
you want them to be. I wonder who's helping them
at this point. I don't know if I'm the NFL PA.
(10:56):
I'm ticked off like they were giving him some consulting
or helping him towards the end as we got closer
to the deadline, and now you've got to be thinking, okay,
hold on a second, we're helping you, and yet you
go to this guy who slinging, I don't know, shake
weights out there at fields all across Jonas's home parks. Yeah,
(11:20):
just shake weights to everyone. Every won't get to shake away.
But like, but you want to bring this guy in
to do your negotiating, Like yeah, kick tires, like like
we're we're not gonna help you anymore. I mean that's
how I feel like you went to such an unprofessional route.
Like I know people in the media who got a
call from this guy who are trying to get through
(11:42):
in touch with teams. Yoh yeah, you can connect the
dots on that one. But that's how sleazy the thing's gotten.
Like it's it's so bad, and you're going get an agent.
Just get an agent, for the love of god, get
an agent. Like, let them take their small fee. Dude,
it's at most three percent. You can probably negotiate them
(12:04):
down to one percent. Get an agent and go get
nine figures. It's unbelievable. By the way, in the same
Laramie Tounsil just got another deal. I don't think he
has an agent. Roquan Smith, his teammate doesn't have an agent.
He got a deal done. But here's the problem. When
you say that you're misrepresenting them. It's not true that
(12:24):
they don't have an agent. They're quote unquote representing themselves.
They have someone who's negotiating with them and for them.
They have an attorney. They have someone else who's there.
They don't have a Ken whatever the hell his name is,
Slinging Jim a Quimman. They have someone who's certified by
the nfl PA who's looking at this stuff and a
(12:46):
part of it. Every player that wants to say, no,
I negotiated my own deal, No, you didn't. I know
plenty of guys who are agents who have been giving
advice on the side for a lot of these players.
They do. It's for like Cloud or to look mart
And the reality is there's still people helping them and
there's no shade. There's nothing wrong with there's nothing wrong
(13:07):
with them. Wrong with that. Yeah, there's nothing wrong with it,
but the media perpetuates it like Jonas just did right there.
It's not true. There's no truth to that. Okay, Well,
do you think that it is true that Kenny bow
Flex at least got them to purchase, you know, a
two month supply of his gym equipment. Yeah, it just
like a trial run getting I saw my face one
(13:27):
of those gazelles, those with the fittest guy who was
like from austroa with the long hair, you know, talking
about No, what are you talking about? It was called
a gazelle. Look it up. Where was lee on this? Yeah, gazelle.
Let me tell me the thing that you pull, you
sit on and it looks like you you like you
have something somebody with you. And then a rowing machine. Yeah,
(13:48):
well no, it's different than that. It's a cardio. It
moves with you. It's it's like an elliptical. Yeah, okay,
I think, I think I know what you're talking. Yeah,
I don't know. I mean personally, I'm all getting under
blocks to come back. Look up the gazelle with the
gazelle glider with Tony Little. All right, Tony little gazette,
(14:09):
that's what that's the Southern California version of ken I'm
not the South Florida version of it. Tony little gazelle.
So let me just taking a look at Tony Little
and let's see. Let's see whether or not it's not
popping up. And we're so late you would let him
negotiate it up. Well, because the wife and the Wi Fi.
Here is perfect. Come on, let's right now. It's not
(14:31):
coming up, Tony, it's not coming up. Nothing showing up.
All right, let me see anything. See. Oh, you guys
are looking at something else, aren't you? The gazelle glider.
Let me see it? Okay, yeah, I see that. I
just had to send it to you. Yeah, it's like
it's like skiing. But did you see Tony little though?
(14:51):
Did you see Tony doing it? Yeah, Tony looks like
he's yeah, yeah, the gazelle like the billy blanks of gazelle. Yeah, exactly,
exact forward hat, long hair underneath. He's a southern California verse.
I got news for you. If that guy knocked at
my door and said, hey, you think about signing my
guy to an opera sheet without even finishing the sentence,
I say yes, if I can get a couple of
(15:11):
these little slalom machines that he's slinging in a field
somewhere in Fort Lauderdale. That's Fantasis starts slinging home workout units. Yeah, today,
that's how it is. You guys seen it though. It's
like this little I don't know, suitcase carrying case. They
got some shirts off. The ladies got their shirts off. Yeah,
people are just slatting and gladding on these gazelles. The
(15:35):
Little Gazelle Glider. Be sure to catch live editions of
Two Pros and a Cup of Joe with Brady Quinn,
LaVar Errington, and Jonas Knox weekdays at six am Eastern
three am Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app.
You know a lot of people were concerned before the
NCAA tournament started. You know, no North Carolina duke without
(15:56):
Mike Chevsky, what it's going to look like? Have no fear.
The our houses and name brands are here. Makes some
noise for Florida Atlantic, San Diego State, Miami and Yukon
are who are in or By the way, if you
ever wanted to get a ticket to go to a
Final four in the history, this is the one you
(16:18):
should get. For about twenty bucks. You could probably play
like two minutes to the second half on one of
these games. A man, I'm happy for this team. Three
of the four have never been here ever ever. And
by the way, Florida Atlantic, who you know, it's close
to where I live. It's it's a decent sized school
for enrollment. But I mean, honestly, the most buzz that
(16:40):
ever got was when Lane Kiffin came here. I mean
I sort of called that completely changed the trajectory of
that school. Um you know it. It became a place
now where recruits in South Florida look to go there
for football, basketball. You know, not not a ton of
the kids are from this area, but it's been it's
become a destined nation. But it's so cool to me
(17:03):
to see like a program and a school make it
where I'm like, man, that's it's a thirty minute drive
like that. That's it's just it's it's a small school story.
It truly is a Cinderella. I don't know if they'll
ever make it back again, but I mean my daughters
were chaired for him because we've been there before. We
go to the Boca Bowl, we've seen some of their
(17:23):
football games. I was excited for them. And then just
to have Miami make it too. It's like the South
Florida's the mecca of college basketball right now. I mean,
it's it's unbelievable. It really is. When you take ato
account two of those schools that have never been there before.
Who knows if they'll ever make it back, but or
now have a chance of potentially scoring off to win
(17:44):
a national championships. Pretty cool. What's the burger place you
guys go to near check? Yeah, that's not even the
end of it. Like the Division two national championship was
Nova Southeastern, which is down here. Like they're doing it
like multiples they've got. It's like the basketball just in
the gurgles. Miami team doing well too. Yeah, they were
(18:05):
in the elite. I didn't check to see if they
made the final four. I think they did. Yeah, yeah,
I mean I'm pretty sure that. Oh did they lose?
It's unfortunate. I mean, lady Berto was happy, yeah to
say that. Yeah what was that about? Berto? Well, Jonas
has been looking at the Cavendar twins, so yeah I
have oh yeah, yeah, buddy, Oh yeah, that's where that's
(18:26):
where those text messages are from. Let me just check
the receipt. Okay, yes, all right, that's fine. Got God
forbid my eyes work, God forbid. I mean they did
they play? Is that? Yeah? One of them one of
them starts. I just randomly saw that pop up on
my my my feet. It's just like what you guys
(18:48):
think about this like this is ridiculous. Yeah, someone should
be advising them. They need to hire an agent. You know,
they'd be misrepresented too. Great point, Oh they've got an agent.
They're a lot going on, They're in deserving of a contract.
So in a way, lame Kiffin is the reason why
(19:11):
one of these schools is in the final four. Absolutely,
how about I mean, I'll just put it this way.
When I used to go to FAU games before he
got there, not really a buzz. Okay, when I went
there the next time, I was like, oh, okay, like
this is this is a crowd, like this feels like
a football environment. It just it felt completely different. It
(19:35):
looked completely different, like there were dudes knocking dudes out
on the field, getting thrown out of games for targeting.
But the entire place where that had like juice. And
I mean, I'm not like sitting here telling you that,
like that's the way football should be played, but it
just had an entirely different feel to it. It felt
(19:55):
like they found their identity. Like that's what it felt like,
and it was it was pretty cool to watch that
whole you know, process, and if you see the way
the players respond to the coach Dusty May seems like
a good dude, and he's been there kind of building
that whole thing for a while. I remember when Jim
Laranaga got hired by Miami. We had him on as
(20:17):
a guest and I remember him saying that because they
started to win a little bit and started to build
the program. But he obviously took George Mason to the
Final four and that's what led to him, you know,
getting the job. He did a great job there and
then got hired at Miami. And he said that when
he first got there that sometimes he knew if they
were bringing in a recruit for a visit, the only
(20:38):
reason the recruit was coming to visit is because the
parents wanted a little bit of a VK. Like he
knew some players they had no shot at getting, but
the parents wanted to come to Miami. Well that's that's
how far that program's come. To see you though. Yeah,
I got to know him when he was at Nova.
Mason a super cool dude. Y'all saw him breaking it down. Yeah,
(21:00):
get a little dad, So yeah, Lard, he knows out
a coach. I'll tell you that there's a decent, cool
little area because you know, Shaka Smart was in the
area as well, like there was a nice little local
run um going on. But anyway, good luck to him. Man.
I thought, that's pretty cool that they did well. But
I gotta be honest if I'm being one. Know, we
had it in the notes as to you know, is
(21:23):
this a good thing or a bad thing for college
college basketball? You know, I don't think it's good. Oh no, sorry,
I mean, I'm happy for those teams, but I just don't.
So what does that lead you to think? Then? Do
you think there should be expansion? Because because it took
me to this thought, if FAU was a thirty plus
win team, I think they were like thirty win in
(21:44):
three or something like that. What's to say that another
another team in that stratosphere couldn't do the same thing,
because without winning their conference, I don't know that FAU
would have gotten in. Yeah, And so I kind of
look at it and go, yeah, maybe that makes it
for expansion, or maybe we should do away with looking
at some of these other like middle of the road,
(22:06):
you know, bubble teams from bigger conferences and just say, yeah,
they don't deserve they didn't play well enough. Like basketball,
it's the talent and everything else is a little more
equated amongst the three hundred teams. Then I think you
get when you're talking about football, that is a big
there's a big difference between There is a big difference,
And I mean there's a big difference in terms of
(22:28):
if you don't have the horses, right like if you
don't have a line of scrimmage that and that's generally
what separates the big, the bigs, the power fives from
the rest is that you're just not going to get
the horses up front that you would get, you know,
being at a Alabama or at a Georgia or out
(22:48):
of Michigan or Notre Dame, and and you get you
get to look at it and you say, you're not
like TCU is a surprise, Like if you really think,
if you're looking at it from a purity standpoint, looking
at football, it's like, Man, TCU found their way to
to the championship game. How many people thought that TCU
(23:11):
was gonna win that game? You know what I mean?
Like it's kind of like it kind of for me,
I would have been more interested seeing Ohio State square
up against Georgia. Now, I like the fact that TCU
made it because that that gives hope, like go to TCU,
don't don't go to the same schools, you know what
I mean. So you would have rather Schigan Ohio State
(23:34):
or Michigan Georgia in the NATI. It's something to that effect.
I mean, I know how State played Georgia, but I'm
just saying that's that type of matchup. I want to
see best on best and and and with college basketball,
I don't even know it's about the expansion because the
bottom line is whether we expanded it or not. Those
teams are winning games like they're winning the games, like
(23:55):
they're knocking out one seats and two seats and three seats.
So it's I just don't find myself interested and watching teams.
I don't know. I gotta start gambling, man. But well, okay,
can I ask you this though, do you really know
any of the teams anymore? I know the brand, and
then once I know the brand, then the player becomes
(24:18):
relevant to me. Like it's like I'm watching Duke. It's
like I watch them on and off during the year,
right and it's like, Okay, this guy is pretty good.
Then we get into the tournament and then you start
really knowing their names. You know. It's like kind of
how historically has been. I've been happy to hear about
the Cinderella stories. We always talk about. Here's the Cinderella
teams that made it to the Sweet sixteen. Here's a
(24:39):
Cinderella team that made it in through until the atleade eight.
Oh my gosh, there's a Cinderella team that made it
into the Final four. I'm good with a Cinderella team.
What about four of them? Nah? And with it kind
of I'm out. I hate to say it. There are
two different discussions, right, Like, you know, is this the
(25:00):
best way to determine your national champion? And that's one discussion,
and you'd probably say no, because nothing you do in
the regular season and even in conference tournament play allows
you to have home court advantage, Like you go into
it as a number one seed and you don't get
to play at home court at any point in the tournament.
(25:22):
And I think that's one of the things that probably
bothers me or makes me, you know, think it's it's
a much more difficult path to go. But let's be
real too, Like when you have a sudden death one
and done scenario, you allow a team like FAU to
get hot, stay hot and be able to make a
run and get to this point. So I kind of
(25:45):
look at it and just go I think the format
of what the tournament is and if you expand it,
by the way, it's only going to make that more likely.
We don't see a number one seed make it. But
I also think like this, there was an outlier year
we saw a bunch of move met at number one.
This year there wasn't like a consistent number one team.
It's so good for these teams. Yeah, always good for him.
(26:10):
I don't know. I don't want to be a detractor
to the success of these programs because I think that's
the parody of the tournament. I mean, you want, I
want to see competition, and we have seen some very
competitive games, make no mistake about it. That's not my
my point. But my point is is that I just
(26:30):
I enjoyed seeing North Carolina ending up matching up against
you know, Michigan. I enjoy seeing Ohio State or Villanova
or Georgetown matching up against another team, you know, against
a Purdue or you like Coca Cola not Shasta Cola.
What you're saying, yeah, yeah, you're gonna win on this.
(26:53):
I mean to me, I'll watch it. Man, I'm the
common But this is why I try and tell people
if you don't like these matchups or these teams, start gambling.
It's the ultimate condiment sitting on the table. The food's
a little dry there it is. Sprinkle a little money
on it, and next thing you know, the game goes
to another level and just start gambling all this stuff.
(27:13):
This is why sports betting is going to become so
important because you all of a sudden turn a bunch
of games. It probably you don't care about whether San
Diego State or Florida Atlantic or any of these other teams,
and all of a sudden you got a little bit
of cash on it. You're throwing a little bit on
it courtesy Draft Kings, the Grant Hall, who's the Christian Latoner,
or to Bobby Hurley, I mean Bobby Cares. It all
(27:34):
pays the same. I mean, it does, and I just
feel like you're creating a different connection to the game
because of the money aspect of it. I'd like to
watch it and like I want to, like you know,
Glenn Robinson, like the big Dog, like Larry Johns, Yeah,
but that's a byproduct too of where college basketball's at. Yeah,
(27:57):
like it's hard, it's hard to have those players when
they're one of Don's. On top of that, they can transfer. Um,
I'm trying to think one of the teams that was
playing there, like, yeah, none of these guys were here
at the beginning of the season, Like there was an
entire it's Kansas State. I think their entire team knowing that,
knowing that began their career in Kansas State. They all
eventually transferred. The Marquis Nola is awesome. What a study. Gee,
(28:21):
absolute stud I mean, and guys are coming like where
did John Murant come from? What school? Did he come from? Marquette? Yeah,
it wasn't wasn't it wasn't Marquette, Murray Murray State, Murray State.
Then you got like a Davidson with Steph Curry, and
I mean, there's guys that aren't going to the traditional
blue blood powerhouse basketball programs in our super megastar players
(28:45):
in the league. But I don't know, I just feel
like there's I feel like these these young boys these
days are missing out on the experiences that we were
able to have when we were growing up. Because you
knew the matchups, you knew what was coming, you knew
it was Duke versus un LV. You knew who was
playing in those games, Like you knew when Arkansas had
(29:06):
their run and they were playing against you know, Duke
or whoever they were playing against. You knew the lineups
and we knew them. Do you remember Bobby Hurley, yes,
as brothers coaching? Yeah? Yeah. Dan. By the way, Yukon
looks by far and away the best, like they look
so good. I don't think the terrible blue blood team,
(29:29):
Like that's a blue blood I don't have. I didn't
pick one of these teams to win more than I
think one or two games. Max. I think I had
Yukon and Miami going to the Sweet sixteen. None of
these teams I had anywhere close to your point. Yukon
is a blue blood team. They had three players who
they knew coming the season. We're gonna be on that team,
(29:50):
on the roster, the rest for freshmen and transfers. Crazy, Like,
that's just how college basketball is. What we experienced with
those Duke teams or Caro, lot of teams that Kentucky teams.
You're never going to see that again. Guys, just guys
hanging around at Kentucky that they didn't make it like
they were supposed to be a one and done. Next
(30:11):
year's class is the most talented class because you're kids
there pretty much you're already much wait wait, hold on, wait,
you're twenty years old. Crows, you're going to class today?
Oh my gosh, what happened to ye? Pretty that is
pretty wild to think of a better tighten up and
worked out. Yeah, you're about to get replaced by seventeen
(30:35):
year old. Yeah, that's what's real life. Be sure to

(31:20):
The latest on the situation involving Aaron Rodgers and the
New York Jets. Robert Sala talked about how having a
guy like Aaron Rodgers wanting to play for them shows
just how far the organization has come, and he wanted
to point out that when he first got there, the
idea of a great player like Aaron Rodgers wanted to
(31:41):
even play for the Jets wouldn't have even been a possibility,
Like they wouldn't have even entertained the idea. But it
just goes to show you that times have changed. The
Jets are a potential landing spot now for big time names,
just like Aaron Rodgers. The only problem is the trade
hasn't actually happened, so we're still in a holding pattern
and we're still sitting around and it's like Alan Lazard
(32:04):
and every all these other moves are being made. Everybody's
talking publicly about the deal, yet the deal still hasn't
been made, so we await the eventual I guess arrival
of Aaron Rodgers with the New York Jets. Al though
personally for entertainment purposes. I hope the Jets figure out
a way to butcher this whole thing because I think
it'd be funny. Seven games last year, right, yeah, something
like that. They finished last in their division. Oh okay,
(32:29):
I mean I know they have. They've come a long way,
you know, I mean, geez, that's coming along way. God Lee.
If Nathaniel Hackett isn't there, is this is an attractive
Darren Rodgers. No, probably not. Yeah, I think that's just
very misleading for him to say this is as far
as like, this is where we've come. Like, I think
(32:51):
they got some fine roster moves one hundred percent. I
think that you have a pretty good coaching staff one
hundred percent. But to say this is how far we've come,
what are you basing that off of? I would be
curious to know what he was basing that off of.
Maybe that they're not picking in the top three anymore,
(33:12):
like it seemed like they were for a while, you know.
Just I like, I just now the thirteenth overall pick
is so coveted for them after having so many top
five picks. Now they can't part ways. It was number
thirteen apparently, and so and now they picked up another
second round pick when they traded Elijah Moore last week.
Until people are saying, well, you know, that's another move
(33:34):
that they could be more draft capital they could use
to get Rogers. Look, I if Rogers tells me I'm
coming there for two years, I'll gladly give up the
thirteen pick. I remember. I remember when I was in
high school. Once I met this this girl, and I
liked her a lot, like I was very very like
like enamored buyer. And some way, somehow I was introduced
(33:58):
to her and we started sucking, and I started telling
all my homeboys like I got a new girlfriend, like
like I got this, you know, I got this deal.
And I was happy about it, and I was almost
a tabbit braggadocious because that was the best I had
did up to this point, you know, you know what
I mean. And I said something on a phone call,
(34:21):
and this was you know, I think cell phones were
just coming around. I think this was still on the
house phone. Said something and it probably came across as
like arrogant or kind of like conceited or whatever, and
and it kind of like messed things up, and I
didn't know we weren't further along than what we were.
(34:43):
I thought we were actually in a committed relationship, which
I never asked her out to be my girlfriend officially
or anything like that, and it had never never materialized.
But I didn't know it until I guess a few
few days after this call, I stopped hearing from her,
and then I didn't hear from her at all, and
then it was like kind of like what happened? What's
(35:04):
wrong this? That and the other. The point of the
story is is that I started telling everybody that she
was my girlfriend, and she wasn't even my girlfriend yet.
I didn't have the commitment, we didn't have the connection.
But you're the North Hills Hammer. How could you not be? Well,
you know, it just didn't work out the way that
I thought it would work out. And this is what
(35:26):
I'm getting vibes that this is a you're talking about
a girlfriend that you don't have yet, like under promise,
over deliver, Like don't say a cosh darn word about
Aaron Rodgers anymore until he's a New York jet. You
(35:48):
know how much damage you're potentially doing? You don't, I mean,
how do you not realize how much like to even
say what you said, Like, there's no harm in saying
this is how far I mean, other than you're delusional
because you were last and you won seven games. Other
than that, there's no harm in saying how far you've
come or what you think your organization looks like now.
(36:10):
But manet get the deal done before you're saying it,
especially if I'm the Jets or if I'm the head coach. Like,
even if I'm the head coach, I can say, well,
you know, other people handle these matters. I'm just trying
to make sure I can run my team the best
that I can. Like you're talking about a girlfriend that
has not even become your girlfriend yet. I just don't know.
(36:34):
I just, man, I don't know. I just got my
spider sense this is going off. And I know that
everybody's saying this is an all but done deal, that
he's going to be a New York Jet. But man,
what if this thing falls apart? What if it falls apart?
What are you going to do? If you're the New
York Jets, you go with Zach Wilson, which I mean,
maybe that's what it is, But look at the damage
(36:56):
that you're doing. Like you're talking about a dude that
isn't even on your team. Talk about Zach Wilson. Keep talking.
You talked enough about him during the season. Keep talking
about him. Now what are you coming out of silence
for to talk about Aaron Rodgers? And how far you
off come? And that's why Aaron wants to come here? Like,
come on, man. You know what I found interesting is
I heard someone mentioned to me that they the Zach
(37:20):
Wilson cam may want They're like, the Jets have to
kind of be careful about how they handle this because
the Zach Wilson can't may want to be traded. And
I'm like, yeah, of course they would, Like why would
you want to hang around for two three more years
and not play? And even though you're sitting behind Rodgers,
which is great, but he's trying to win a Super Bowl,
(37:40):
like he's not there to mence war you and meanwhile,
you're watching your career go by. Other guys get drafted,
start play, and you become an afterthought. I just I
look at this and think, I don't know when and
if it's going to happen, but I still think Zach
deserves a fresh start somewhere else. It would give the
Jets more draft capital, and on top of it, you know,
(38:04):
maybe it's it's one of those pieces that helps you,
you know, put a package together to go get Aaron Rodgers.
Like that's the reality of where we're at at this point.
But it's just it's the weirdest trade, but not quite
a trade that I can recall, because everybody involved, the Packers, Rogers,
(38:24):
the Jets, Jets, coaches, Jets players, everybody saying we want
to be elsewhere, we want to get it done, and
we're just still sitting here waiting on somebody to actually
come up with enough compensation. And there was some stuff
that came out last week that said, well, they'd be
willing to wait all the way up until the draft. Okay,
So I mean we're gonna play this game for at
(38:46):
some point, don't Don't you just want to kind of
move forward, Like I'd just like to know what's happening here.
And like I said, if if it was, hey, give
us the thirteen overall pick and Rogers is yours, And
if Rogers gave me some sort of an indication or
a promise that said I plan on being here two years.
This isn't just for a one year I can understand
(39:07):
them wanting to put up a fight if they said
this is just for a one year deal. We don't
want to give up the number thirteen overall pick. We
feel like that's too Steve. But if he tells you
he's going to be there for multiple years, just do
the deal and move on. I don't get it. Let
me let me ask you guys this, Who are they
gonna get at number thirteen that's gonna help to win
a Super Bowl more than Aaron Rodgers? Nobody? Yeah, I
(39:27):
don't think so. So if that's where you're at, and
if that's what you're trying to accomplish, part ways with it.
You have plenty of other draft capital. It's so weird
to me too. I was talking with a former Jet
about this and he's like, no way, Man, thirteenth overall
picks so valuable. I'm like, valuable for what? Like, like,
(39:48):
what are you going to spend that pick on? He
goes an offensive lineman that's gonna help you win a
Super Bowl. Your biggest issue is quarterback. You have a
quarterback that's a Hall of Favor that wants to come
play there, and you can't part ways with the number
thirteen overall pick. You're acting like you're drafting the top
five again if it's not the same. And on top
(40:10):
of that, you look at it and you go like,
would you trade anything to be able to have this
shot a big of the playoffs and a chance to
win a Super Bowl like the Tampa Bay Bucks had
when they got Tom Brady. You trade anything for that? Yeah,
even though after that, you know, nothing really came about.
You know, they didn't they didn't win another Super Bowl.
They probably weren't even a serious contender after that, But
(40:32):
it doesn't matter. They got the super Bowl, like at
the end of the day, like that was worth all
of it and anything afterwards. And if you're the Jets,
you'd have to think that, yeah, I'm willing to give
up the number thirteen overall pick and have a shot
for two or three years of seriously contending for a
Super Bowl. Yeah, especially in the AFC, it feels like
(40:54):
And look, they had a promising year and we talked
about it at the time when the injuries they suffered
at o line and running back. You know, I get
the game against Denver, everything sort of fell apart there.
I just I look at it and go if I'm
Robert Sala, if I'm Joe Douglass, if I'm the organization,
and I know the clock's ticking, and I roll out
another seven win crap bag because we were too busy
(41:15):
haggling over a number thirteen overall pick and we haven't
figured out the quarterback spot. Everybody's gone, so just do
the deal. You gotta believe that's the biggest piece of it, right,
I mean you gotta believe that's the biggest piece. Is
it self preservation here or is it you know what?
What's your motivation? You don't think Woody Johnson stepped in
and said, no, we're not giving up the number thirteen
(41:37):
overall pick, or you need to figure out somebody that
Woody trust is saying don't do it, because I can't
imagine that Joe Douglas and Robert Sala have a problem
giving up the thirteen pick if they can land Aaron Rodgers,
Like I just I wonder, what is the what is
it was like breaking news on our show when Albert
Breyer said it, it was like that's shocking news, Like
(41:58):
you're not going to give up a first round like
the Rams gave up two to get to get Stafford,
you know what I mean, Like you don't think a
Rod is worth one, like one one first round draft
pick one. I just I don't know. I just think
that this is New York Jet business. You can't figure
(42:23):
out how to get the trade done. But you're talking
about a Rod like he's already there. You're talking about
how good your team is and how far you've come,
but your last place in the Division one seven games.
I'm just trying to like, how the hell do you
connect these dots in the equation of things that are
(42:45):
going on with the Jets right now? Like how you
do it? That's great? Please help me. Tremendous stuff. Fox
