Speaker 1 (00:02):
It's the best of two pros and a couple. Joe
with Lamar Arrings rating Win and Jonas Knox on Foxorts Radio.

Speaker 2 (00:13):
Let's get into the conversation that needs to be had.
Jerry Jones, Happy birthday turned eighty two on Sunday.

Speaker 3 (00:23):
Great birthday present.

Speaker 2 (00:24):
Yeah, and I think they gave up eighty two points
Jailer's birthday. So that was a full fledged five alarm
ass whooping by the Detroit Lions in Dallas yesterday. Man,
when the Cowboys loose sometimes at home, they get warked,
and I don't know if anybody's ready to just kind

(00:48):
of call it what it is, but Dallas just seems
like slightly above average. I know that they're banged up,
I get all that, but they don't run the football.
Ezekiel Elliott's frustrated about his diminished role or whatever the
hell he was talking about over the weekend. It feels
like there are problems there in Dallas. Congratulates to Detroit.

(01:09):
They've got bigger issues when it comes to the Aiden.
Hutchinson agree, that's a big issue, which, by the way,
is just gruesome. That was a nasty injury. Yeah, wish
him well. Yeah, so's there's the the Dallas Cowboys situation.
Jerry Jones did speak afterwards, because then the discussion happens.

(01:30):
We've seen one coach already fired in the NFL. Is
there the possibility of there being a coaching change here
was the birthday?

Speaker 3 (01:38):
Boy?

Speaker 1 (01:38):
Would it take you to evaluate making a head coaching
change in season?

Speaker 4 (01:42):
I haven't considered that. I'm not considering that. Just so
you're clear, I'm not considering that you've done. I wouldn't
be a hypothetical in that matter. Do you think I'm
an idiot?

Speaker 5 (01:53):
Do you?

Speaker 3 (01:54):
Okay?

Speaker 4 (01:54):
Well, I'm not going hypothetical with you about one I'd
consider coaching change and a lot of the I mean
we're sitting here with I'm not at all.

Speaker 6 (02:03):
Take that Woody Johnson, you idiot. I mean that's what
he said, isn't it? So he has fired though a
coach midseason?

Speaker 4 (02:14):
Right?

Speaker 3 (02:14):
Didn't you fire Wade Phillips? And that's how Jason Garrett
became the interim head coach then permanent head coach. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (02:19):
I think they started like one in seven or something
like that, and he clipped him.

Speaker 6 (02:23):
That's probably if I'm assuming, if I know it correctly,
that's like the only time he's ever done it, though,
right right, he has been known to at least give
him the season to f it all the way up right.

Speaker 3 (02:34):
Yeah, Well, I mean I guess I don't understand, Like,
what's the hurry, what's going to change things? Look, we
could say injuries don't matter, that they do. In this case,
you're talking about both your starting edge rushers, which changes
things from a game plan perspective and how you're gonna
go about your protections, how you're gonna go about running
the football. I mean, for example, we talk about this game,

(02:57):
we're like, well the las Aiden Hutchinson, It's like, well, yeah,
that's changes a lot of things for the Troit Lions
defensively moving forward. So if we want to act like
injuries don't matter, we can do that. I personally think
it changes a lot of things when you don't have
game wreckers, some of the best defensive players in the
game healthy for it. So that's the first thing. Like,

(03:18):
if we want to get excited about the margin of
victory for the Lions, we can. I mean, they absolutely
drummed them, dominated them, out schemed them any way you
want to go about it. But that defense was also missing.
What three four starters. Yeah, I mean that, dude. There's
not many teams that can be able to overcome that,
especially when you're talking about their best player, maybe their

(03:38):
overall best player, Micah Parsons not being there like that's
dramatically changes things. So look, I'm not trying to chalk
this up and say, Okay, it's an outlier. We're not
gonna see that again, because we tend to see the
Cowboys look like a dumpster fire at times, and maybe
that's happened more often under Mike McCarthy for whatever reason,

(03:58):
even though I feel like they're under Jason Garrett's moments
like this, I just think I'm not gonna make too
much of it, all things considered, Like going into that game,
that was easy money, easy bet, meat Waggon cash in
on that one, in part because of all the injuries
on the defensive side of the ball for Dallas. It's
a tough position to be in.

Speaker 6 (04:20):
It really is, because the expectations for Dallas are so
high because they're made that way by Jerry Jones, and
whenever you have these types of performances, it's ultimately going
to lead to.

Speaker 3 (04:37):
What happens next.

Speaker 6 (04:38):
How do you answer the questions of an ass whipping
so so bad. How do you justify an ass whipping
so bad that they took Sometimes it's just a team
has an off week. Sometimes you have an off week
with key players out of the game. I left that

(05:00):
game wondering to myself, not so much if if the
defense can pull it together once they get you know,
their their key players back. But where does this offense
really stand? I think that that's for me that became
maybe the biggest question that I had coming out of

(05:23):
as it applies to the Dallas Cowboys is what what
what is this offense? What is it going to do?
You could only muster three field goals in four quarters?
You know, I just don't you know for for whatever

(05:46):
the you know, the expectations are, you know, it just
it just comes across to me that when you have
a guy that turns the ball over, which it seems
like Dak Prescott always turns the ball over in high
pressure situation games, big games, he's going to throw an
interception or two or more. It just seems like that's

(06:10):
what happens, and his production isn't high. You don't have
a backfield. I think you realize that now by now,
you do not have a legitimate backfield, So what are
you going to do there? And once you get away
from Cedee Lamb, if you're not feeding CD Lamb, the
ball on offense or defense is able to some way,
somehow slow down Cedee Lamb.

Speaker 3 (06:32):
What do you have?

Speaker 6 (06:34):
And I think that to me, that's going to be
the biggest question that has to be answered is how
legitimate is this this Dallas offense? When we thought that
this was a really really you know, kind of seemingly
a balanced offense that should be able to have good
success and have have good results, it just doesn't. After
watching that game, the biggest question to me is you

(06:55):
get your defense back healthy?

Speaker 3 (06:57):
Great, you have some good defense being played.

Speaker 6 (07:00):
Scores may not be as bad as forty seven points,
but nine points doesn't going to win you a game.
Nine points is not going to win games. So what
happens with your offense? Where do you go from here?
With your offense?

Speaker 2 (07:13):
Last four home games, so they're own three at home
this season, oh to four if you go back to
the playoff game, the beating they got from green Bay.
Last four home games, the defense or they've allowed one
hundred and sixty seven points over that span. It's the
third most in the span of four home games in
NFL history. Like they're getting demolished, and the fact that

(07:36):
it's at home. That's got to make it just a
little bit worse for Jerry Jones, the fact that you
go back home and you're getting clowned, Like it looked
like Detroit was clowning them.

Speaker 3 (07:44):
Yes, oh they were like.

Speaker 2 (07:47):
Skipper out of wide receivers with offensive linemen.

Speaker 3 (07:53):
They literally clowned him.

Speaker 6 (07:54):
And he's a former Cowboy, so you know he was
really enjoying whipping that ass.

Speaker 2 (08:02):
And also because the regular season game last year was
the skipper eligible reporting eligible and Dallas ended up winning
that game and Detroit was pissed about it. And it's
like they had that marked in their calendar because when
they beat when they won the playoff game last year,
they were they had Dallas targeted, like they were looking
at the Cowboys, that the team they wanted revenge with

(08:22):
the fact that they had offensive linemen in those spots
and they were doing what they were doing the entire game.
I mean, it felt like they were making a statement
and the idea was, we're going to embarrass this team
at home. Get our revenge and just clown them in
front of the world.

Speaker 3 (08:38):
I mean, here's here's the bright side for the Dallas
Cowboys fans is you do have a excuse me, you
have a bye this week, but then after that, you
got two games on the road. So you've played really
well on the road. So they got that going for him. Yeah,
maybe maybe they do just find a way of winning
in San Francisco and Atlanta, two of the better TEAAMSFC.
The Aiden Hutchinson loss is bad for that man.

Speaker 6 (09:00):
Said for him personally because he's like he's a budding bugget,
budding megastar. But it's it's also that's going to be
very difficult for the Lions to to overcome a loss
like that. He is such a pivotal piece to that
team both SATs of the ball too, by the way
his presence impacts both SATs of that ball. Let alone,

(09:23):
the idea of what he brings to the table as
a defender is horrible loss.

Speaker 3 (09:29):
I mean, there's isn't there a disgruntled defensive end in
Las Vegas what's his name? Or one in uh Max Crosby,
one in.

Speaker 6 (09:35):
Philadelphia right now that won't go down the Parkway or
down there.

Speaker 3 (09:40):
Technically he's with the Jets, but he was in Philly
when he got traded.

Speaker 6 (09:44):
I mean he I think he's still living in Philly.
Isn't that why Wood he told him to get on
the road.

Speaker 3 (09:50):
Maybe I don't think he's I'm just saying that if
you're the Las Vegas Raiders and as you watch the
season go up in flames, I know there's a lot
of Raiders Redis fans who are gonna hate this, but
I feel like, let's just be honest about we're at
We're building towards the future for the Raiders. Crosby, why
not try to get some draft value in exchange? Where
are you going with this? Brady? Well, he's from Detroit
to play at Eastern Michigan. He got to be Max.

(10:12):
I mean, I'm just saying, why try to look into it?
Could it would be so on. You gotta be Max,
because in order for it to be a song, you know,
they got to get him actually figure out.

Speaker 6 (10:26):
He wants to play football. I mean the top Jones.
He's got to get an agent. I mean one of
the boss could be disgruntled, you know.

Speaker 3 (10:32):
I mean maybe maybe T J. Watt. If we're gonna
go this.

Speaker 6 (10:34):
Maybe maybe let's let's you know he's playing like maybe
JJ out of retirement.

Speaker 3 (10:40):
You know he's doing well on them commercial. There's more
than come on, come on, there's plenty. We got got plenty.

Speaker 5 (10:48):
The D five.

Speaker 3 (10:49):
Hutchinson was the favorite to win. Frick. Yeah, I keep going, Hey,
both their ends are. There's there's gonna be a p
f F to where it's just like white. Yet can
we do that?

Speaker 1 (11:03):
We can?

Speaker 3 (11:04):
We can we develop aide wideness.

Speaker 2 (11:11):
You click a tabit, you clean a habit, it's all white,
like that's just the we get all the info on players,
like the cornerback market that's been taken over by Brady
and I over the past week.

Speaker 3 (11:21):
Or not taking any credit for that. Out here, no
one's feeling that though, no one's feeling like the Detroit
Lion should maybe make a move. I mean, I feel
like I look at this team and they're super Bowl contender.
They're definitely continued NFC and Hutchinson. So the tibby is
a weight bearing that's the weight bearing like he had
surgery after he broke it yesterday, and I don't know

(11:44):
exactly that the time frame on it, but it's going
to be a while before he's able to get back
out there and weight bearing. So I guess in the
short term, unless they feel really good about something else
they have internally, maybe who's out there. In all seriousness,
maybe you do call the Jets and say, hey, we'll
take Hassan Reddick off your you know, your chest. Maybe
it's is mass Max Crossby frustrating Trey Hendrickson wanted something

(12:05):
before the season in all serious you know, joking aside,
Maybe the Bengals now, you know, even though they won
last night, maybe that's a team that, depending on how
the next week or two goes, where you can get
up an edge rusher could come in and give you,
you know, an immediate impact player. It might make some sense. So,
I mean, it does pretty much seal if he stays healthy. TJ.

Speaker 2 (12:25):
Watt winning Defensive Player of the Year because Hutchinson was
the favorite, Uh TJ. Watts next in line, so he
should take over that spot there.

Speaker 3 (12:33):
But yeah, it.

Speaker 2 (12:33):
Sucks, and especially considering Hutchinson's a Detroit guy and he
really was in a lot of ways the face of
that franchise and is the face of that franchise. And
to see him go down and and suffer the injury.

Speaker 3 (12:47):
You could tell I feel so bad.

Speaker 2 (12:48):
You could tell like those guys there were devastated, and
you just knew, oh that's it.

Speaker 6 (12:55):
And you know what's said about that moment. Not to
cut you off, but what's whole hor is I'm looking
at it and I'm like, please don't be aiden, Please
don't be aiding anybody else.

Speaker 3 (13:06):
It could be hurt. But he is not worth as much.

Speaker 6 (13:13):
I was like, no, no, no, no, no, no, no,
no no no, And then it was but man, and
who the.

Speaker 3 (13:20):
Worst part is though to of of all of that,
and like watching him and like any player go through
an injury, is when they immediately know the severity of it. Yeah,
oh yeah. He was taking off his gloves like he
was like, I need to get everything off and like
to you know, an operating room immediately to get surgery.
Like that's you could tell he knew how bad it was.

(13:42):
And and also that that's one that it comes with
a lot of pain. Man, Like that's a painful injury
to deal with. Guys I know that have dealt with
that injury. It is nasty. So, you know, thoughts and
prayers with him. Hopefully he's got a speedy recovery.

Speaker 2 (13:55):
But man, and it also shows you how violent the
game is because that, like, that's a leg the realities
that exist in a live play. He just you know,
is running and his leg whips into somebody else.

Speaker 3 (14:07):
That's it. I'm telling you.

Speaker 6 (14:09):
My son did it the same thing in in this
game this past weekend and ended up with a high
ankle spray whipped the leg like got caught getting to
tackle in traffic, body whips around, leg gets caught, foot
gets caught, body falls on it, ankle boom.

Speaker 3 (14:26):
Like.

Speaker 6 (14:27):
It's just it's it's the harsh realities that we face
as as players in the game, and sometimes it rears
its ugly face at us in the game. But that's
you know, that's that's why they say it's a warrior sport.
It's a it's a warrior's game, man, because anything stuff

(14:48):
like that can, especially in the trenches. It's just crazy
things can happen there. Man.

Speaker 3 (14:53):
So he happen to hit Olympic Ely McNeil, who's like
the largest human being on their defensive front. So that
didn't help the situation either. This sucks.

Speaker 1 (15:01):
Be sure to catch live editions of two pros and
a Cup of Joe with Brady Quinn, LeVar Arrington, and
Jonas Knox weekdays at six am Eastern, three am Pacific
on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 2 (15:14):
So it is a big football recap Monday here on
the show, we obviously address the beating in Dallas, the
unfortunate news of Aiden Hutchinson and the Dallas Cowboys with
another embarrassing loss at home. That's four in a row
for the Cowboys, giving up one hundred and sixty seven
points during that time. They've also got this issue on
offense where they just don't run the ball. One of

(15:36):
the worst rushing teams in the league, and it's hard
to do that when you're trailing in games by as
much as they are, especially at home. But you know
who they could have had, Derrick Henry and that just
looks like the most perfect fit and perfect match. And
he is just rolling in Baltimore as they get it
done against Washington yesterday.

Speaker 3 (15:57):
Well, I don't know about perfect fit, perfect match, but
definitely was the need. I mean, I definitely could have
used his services. Then watching in Baltimore, I think it's
a little more tantalizing to see the combination of him
and Lamar Jackson, then even the change up from him
in Justice Hill and the different style of backs they are.
I just I don't know. I mean, look, this is

(16:18):
a defense too. As much as we want to harp
on what these scores have looked like, you know, the
last but four home games, I think you gave I
was under a different you know, defensive coordinator last three. Okay,
Mike Zipper's got to own that he's the DC. Now
this is a new defense. I mean, I would hope
that they would be able to show a little more
progress by now. It feels like for the most part,
a lot of the teams, the offenses that we're seeing,

(16:41):
they're starting to hit their stride. Like we're done with
the preseason. We're into the regular season because no one
plays in the actual preseason anymore. So I feel like
we're here now where we should be seeing better play
and it's just not happening. And so I look, I
said earlier, the injuries, no doubt play a part in
all this, but this is also a defense that's trying to,

(17:02):
you know, lord of new scheme, play a different style
of defense. Maybe it's just not the right fit. I mean,
Lavroll I don't know how you look at it and
see it, but I look at it and go, all right,
maybe this is just not gonna work in Dallas. You
know what. Maybe it did it at one point in
time with Mike Zimber, but maybe it's not gonna now.

Speaker 6 (17:18):
Yeah, listen, the Dallas situation is the Dallas situation, and
that's gonna play out the way it's going to play out,
because well, it's dysfunction. There's dysfunction there and wherever that exists,
which I think we do know where it exists. That's
that's you're just going to have to either you know,

(17:42):
Jerry Jones is going to have to do something different
or continue to get the same results. But I think
revisiting the whole Baltimore Ravens did I mean, if we're
talking Ravens in Washington, I came away from that game
thinking that those are two really, really fine football teams.

(18:02):
And I said that was right. Yeah, I said it
was going to be the Bentley versus Chrysler three hundred game.
You know, you remember when the Chryslers were released, everybody
was buying them.

Speaker 3 (18:13):
It was like, oh, it's just like getting a Bentley.
It's a Bentley.

Speaker 6 (18:15):
It's a Bentley, right, And I said, we've seen Jaydon
Daniels play really well, but you're about to go see
him visit a Bentley. So it's Jaydon Daniels Chrysler three hundred,
and it's going to pull up beside a Bentley. And
now you can't say, well, that Chrysler three hundred looks
like a Bentley because it's next to a Bentley, and
a Bentley looks like a Bentley, and a Chrysler three

(18:38):
hundred next to a Bentley looks like a Chrysler three hundred. Right,
I feel like Jaydon Daniels is a Bentley.

Speaker 3 (18:45):
I think.

Speaker 6 (18:46):
I think for me, the verdict is in he's the
real deal. This, this Washington team is the real deal.
And for that game to play out the way that
it did, if you're going to have a loss, which
there's never a good way of losing in theory, because

(19:07):
you lost, but that was a very competitive game, jayde
and Daniels one hundred percent stood up to the challenge
that was presented to him and responding and performing in
such a big game and such a the Beltway battle

(19:28):
is such a real thing. I just I came away
from that game, actually feeling even more confident and better
about not only Jaydeon Daniels, but this Washington football team
as a whole. I mean, it just looks like this
is a different, different team. And shouts out to the

(19:51):
Ravens for actually being legitimately good enough to win a
serious game against a legit team in what the washing
Rington Commanders are looking like right now, it.

Speaker 2 (20:01):
Felt like a spot where Washington could have gotten exposed.
Are they contenders or pretenders? And yeah they Jade Daniels
played well enough. They're not quite at Baltimore's level. But
I came away from that game also thinking, I know
we're going to get into the to the Eagles and
the Nick Sirianni discussion later on, Washington feels like the

(20:21):
best team in the NFC East, and I'm not sure
how close it is right could take it as far
as most and I know they're in first well record wise,
but no, just as far as optics and how they look.
They feel like they're trending in the right direction, and
everybody else is kind of sputtering at this point in
that division.

Speaker 6 (20:39):
I liked what I saw, is what I'll say. I
was encouraged by the way they played. I'm encouraged by
Jaydeon Daniels, his decision making, how he handled himself in
the game, his decision making, the.

Speaker 3 (20:51):
Poise that he showed.

Speaker 6 (20:53):
I mean, there was one play in particular where he
you know, the time was running out and he threw
the ball in the dirt. You know, he didn't throw
it the echillery, threw it in the dirt to stop
the clock, to preserve the clock instead of throwing the
ball to him. He gets the ball, gets tackled for
a one yard game. I mean, he was just showing

(21:14):
so much poise and so much understanding and control. I just,
you know, for me, I just always wonder. My skeptical
side always comes into play, and it's always once once
you get to the halfway mark of the season and
you're able to make book on what it is that
this new kid is doing, and you're able to watch

(21:35):
the film on him and look at his tendencies and
break down what he's good at, what he's not good at.
Does he continue to trend in the same direction, does
he cool off? Does he fall off a cliff like
in years past? You you feel like with Washington, if
it can go wrong, it's going to go wrong, and
it's almost like you got to try to fight through

(21:57):
the urge. Is there RG three trauma? Yeah, I mean
there's there's Ridskin trauma. I mean, there's that we're gonna get.
I mean, this is they weren't the commanders when all
the trauma was taking place. They weren't the commanders when
Dan Snyder had the team. So you know, I can't
say when they were the commanders, like the trauma from

(22:18):
them being the commanders. They were the Redskins when Dan
Snyder bottom and owned them and all those years of
deterioration took place. So there you go, there you go.
But it's a new now, it's a new day. It's
a new new team name. You know, it's a new quarterback.

Speaker 3 (22:36):
You know.

Speaker 6 (22:36):
RG three was never a commander, you know, just so
you know, so it's almost like it never happened. I mean,
kind of put it in the past. I guess, you know,
moving on. You know, people are going to here's my
colleague guy. People are going to, oh, the Washington commanders
quite the apology for the way that they're playing right

(22:58):
now and everything that's.

Speaker 3 (23:00):
Going on in d C.

Speaker 6 (23:06):
Colin, I'm gonna be tearing your ass up all day,
No on air, off air, friends, text messages, pay.

Speaker 3 (23:14):
It one more time.

Speaker 6 (23:15):
I'm just tearing his ass up. That weird ass accent
you was rolling with. Man, you better stop that. You
know you better than that.

Speaker 3 (23:23):
I mean, do we have the sound? I mean, I
know at least got I think he's scared to play it.
He's efforting.

Speaker 7 (23:32):
Some of you guys are gonna Lincoln an apology linked
the ten teams can handle coming out west for the sunshine,
the distractions of l A.

Speaker 3 (23:46):
Probably not.

Speaker 8 (23:49):
Looks them look at another in a commercial.

Speaker 3 (23:53):
Whatever apologies accepted.

Speaker 2 (24:01):
Them.

Speaker 3 (24:04):
Lincoln Rally. Oh man, come on, Colin.

Speaker 2 (24:08):
By the way, is that causing place? Is that where
you guys are going on Thursday?

Speaker 8 (24:11):
Lee?

Speaker 2 (24:12):
Was there like a Broncos game or something coming up?
You guys are gonna go to?

Speaker 3 (24:16):
Uh not?

Speaker 9 (24:17):
Yeah, it's up to these guys if they're going or not.

Speaker 3 (24:20):
I'm not gonna go up to these guys. Place looks
sweet though.

Speaker 9 (24:23):
Yeah, I'm gonna go for another game, but I'm gonna
watch the dog Thursday.

Speaker 3 (24:27):
Nice. Where is it at?

Speaker 2 (24:31):
If it ain't in my back yard, they ain't in
my backyard. I'm not going so h yeah, what are
we looking at?

Speaker 3 (24:37):
Lee? It's at Hollywood Park so near so fun. Oh
they're so far traffic should be nice. Yeah, I wouldn't
mess with that. That'd be fun. So enjoy that, everybody. Hey,
they got some weird little thing going man at the
control room. Man, you know he said right now.

Speaker 6 (24:56):
Well they're kind of like clicked out now, you know,
like that whole in there, they're.

Speaker 2 (25:02):
Clicked out about Lorena, about and and uh.

Speaker 3 (25:05):
Coop and Coop and Coop and bring. Yeah, they clicked out. Man,
we don't we don't get those invites. Coop was making
everyone go because it's a Broncos game. Mhmm.

Speaker 6 (25:16):
Interesting. Oh you didn't get an invite. No, yeah, I
didn't recall no invite either.

Speaker 3 (25:20):
I invited you.

Speaker 2 (25:21):
Guys on Friday and you said no, maybe I feel different,
but that's not true.

Speaker 3 (25:28):
You see how they clicked out together.

Speaker 6 (25:29):
That was See when there's too many of them that there,
you had people to like confirm. Yeah, you have them
to confirm like the falseness of a story like ain't
nobody said no, like but Lorena was supporting you know,
lead to LaPoint.

Speaker 3 (25:43):
I mean, reinvite us. You know maybe, well, we still
have two seats available if you want to come zero.

Speaker 6 (25:49):
Chance like not a shot now, Jonas, we have two
seats left Settle.

Speaker 3 (25:58):
Not LeVar and Jonah just Jonas like.

Speaker 6 (26:03):
Cool?

Speaker 3 (26:03):
Damn. I don't want no invite from them anyway.

Speaker 2 (26:07):
Hey, by the way, don't look now, but the offensive
Rookie of the year odds are starting to shrink a
little bit, you know, Jade Daniels.

Speaker 3 (26:13):
Running around well. Though cayleb played well this week? Really did?

Speaker 6 (26:18):
He really looked good this weekend? You know, it was
a crappy team. He did it again, but he though bad.
Jacksonville's bad.

Speaker 2 (26:28):
They are they are not good and they've got and
by the hel about the people in London are like sweet.
We get another game next week and it's Patriots Jaguars.

Speaker 6 (26:38):
Eh good God, eh, Well, somebody might look good in
the game, though, I mean, you got two really really
bad teams. One of them teams might look better than
the really really really bad like more bad.

Speaker 2 (26:54):
I can't I'm I shouldn't be surprised, but I actually
am surprised at how bad Actionville is.

Speaker 3 (27:01):
Now.

Speaker 6 (27:02):
Will he make Will Doug Peterson make it out of
the season? Is shag Khan going to be an idiot.
Who's going to be the next idiot to fire their
their coach during the season.

Speaker 3 (27:13):
I mean they did just play in London, shodkn does
have a ton of buddies and friends over there. It's like, well, yeah,
this could this could set up poorly for.

Speaker 2 (27:23):
Where Doug Peterson coming back over d and that's another
team with Pete Tyes and Prisco's having it rough.

Speaker 3 (27:29):
And certainly he's kneecapping people left and right.

Speaker 6 (27:32):
Bru It looked like Cayleb Williams was the star of
the NFL, like cover boy, can't do anything wrong, while
Trevor Lawrence looked like he couldn't fight his way out.

Speaker 3 (27:46):
Of a wet paperbag. How what world does that exist?

Speaker 6 (27:50):
Like that was crazy watching this dude is struggling looking
the way that he's looking, and Kayleb Williams was just
looking like a world be out there like this is
Trevor Lawrence. You're seeing the commercials the whatever it is,
uh bank that that's used his name on.

Speaker 3 (28:10):
The Trevor Bank.

Speaker 6 (28:11):
Yeah, but whatever the name of the bank is in
real life, Like it was like they're doing the commercials
this that and the other and he stink. He kind
of stinks as a QB right now.

Speaker 3 (28:26):
It was weird.

Speaker 6 (28:27):
It was weird, like seeing it like this dude is
struggling while Kayla Williams is bawling.

Speaker 3 (28:34):
It was kind of weird to me. Man.

Speaker 6 (28:36):
I mean, I would have liked to have seen both
of those young talents get it in. But man, it
didn't look like that bears her back.

Speaker 3 (28:44):
Baby. Yeah, but we're the Jags. They're not back. Just
stay over in London. They ain't coming back, huh.

Speaker 2 (28:50):
Just stay there if they But to Brady's point though,
if they lose this next week, and like I hate
talking about and calling for people's jobs, I never do that.
I hate that crap. But you can't bring him back
if he loses Patriot, Like that's what I'm saying. So like,
if they lose to New England after that yesterday.

Speaker 3 (29:09):
Can't bring him back. Yeah, he's got to get his
own flight back home. That's you won't even let him
fly back.

Speaker 6 (29:14):
No, he's got he's got to find his own way back.
Really Yeah, yeah, I don't want you on the plane.
I don't want that energy going back and back over.

Speaker 2 (29:23):
That's a good point, Like if somebody did fire you,
would you even want to fly back on the team plane?

Speaker 3 (29:27):
Probably? No, it's a long flight, man, that's the thing
to take into consideration.

Speaker 6 (29:31):
That probably be the best sleep Doug Peterson's gotten in
like two Like you're on the flight back.

Speaker 3 (29:38):
If you're the owner and you're on the flight, it's
like you're actually aggravated angry. You got Wi Fi. So
you're still getting people like tang throwing jack and you
left the right and you're just looking across.

Speaker 2 (29:49):
To the head coach and he's sitting there, look tant
to fire this guy right now. But the problem is
if you fire him, he's got like another eight hours on.

Speaker 3 (29:58):
The plane together. It's like you to figure out you
gotta either do it before after or before after the flight.
But I would not. It'd be an awful flight to
have to think that when we land, this is what
I'm gonna have to do next. I mean, that's just
a bad So they've got New England coming up this.

Speaker 2 (30:16):
Week, then they've got the Packers afterwards.

Speaker 3 (30:20):
That ain't gonna look good.

Speaker 2 (30:21):
Geez man, there, I mean, this is getting real, real
bad for Jacksonville. Like they could be the worst team
in the league. When it's all say, it's they're up there,
they're up there. How many years in a row did
they pick number one? Like they pick number one? Was
it two or three years in a row?

Speaker 3 (30:38):
Something like that.

Speaker 2 (30:38):
Yeah, and so, uh so Jacksonville looks like, uh looks
like they're gonna be up against it this year. And
then we get to see, uh whether or not Doug
Peterson survives there and whether or not you know, shod
CON's got a quick trigger and wants to go ahead
and make some changes.

Speaker 3 (30:55):
I mean, he did it with Irvin Meyer.

Speaker 2 (30:56):
It was a little bit later in the year, but
you know, this feels like this could happen sooner rather
than later, especially the fact that he put everybody un
noticed before the season and let everybody know that. Listen,
we have expectations. I expect them to be better, you know,
we expect them to respond.

Speaker 6 (31:12):
And the craziest thing about are they the worst team
in the league right.

Speaker 5 (31:23):
Is that you have.

Speaker 6 (31:26):
The Cleveland Browns sitting at one win. I don't know,
I we need to do this, sorry, Brady, you have.

Speaker 3 (31:33):
The Cleveland Browns sitting at one win? Yeah, I mean,
this is if this isn't a troubling stat I don't
know what is Rodney McLeod is tied for the team
leading touchdowns, LeVar, do you know who Rodney McLoud is?
I believe isn't he on the defensive side of the ball.
He's a safety here. That's a problem, like that is

(31:57):
a problem.

Speaker 2 (31:59):
So I'm not ready to throw in the towel yet
because they haven't been mathematically eliminated.

Speaker 3 (32:04):
I don't think are going it seems are we going
to touch on Cleveland today? Careful throw, careful thrown in
towels in that building that I also saw Captain Shield,
you might knock somebody out. It's aid a ninja star.
Dang damn. Hey, he's going to lose that locker room
if they don't. Ben chimmed up.

Speaker 6 (32:24):
And if he loses the locker room, then you know,
he's probably going to lose his job going to Oh yeah, yeah,
you're right. Yeah, that's fair.

Speaker 3 (32:32):
I mean it seems like we might be already we're
already down. Yeah, we are all. So this was a
graphic that was put up by s n Ohio. That's fair.

Speaker 2 (32:39):
That said, uh, the Browns are zero for twenty six
on their last twenty six third downs with Deshaun Watson.
That doesn't seem possible.

Speaker 3 (32:49):
That was at one point during the game.

Speaker 2 (32:50):
Yeah, I was gonna say like that because they did
rally back and hey, let me tell you something, plus nine,
plus nine and a half. I'll take it. I'll take
it from the brownies there. So they get it done.
Miles Garrett h really the only thing going for him
blocking a kick and they returning it. But yeah, between Cleveland.

Speaker 6 (33:08):
And whatever the hell's grounds, the Panthers, they all suck,
suck bad, like oh we thought Andy Dalton was about
to beat New Noop a little bit more competitive. Still
one win, you stink? Yeah, yeah, so bad man, that's

(33:30):
bad to be a you know, you're in no man's land.
When the Giants have one win, they have double the
wins you have.

Speaker 3 (33:38):
By the way, that game was brutal. That was brutal. Yeah, brutal.
That was tough. Good defensive performance though by the Bengals defense.
That was tough to watch, good to see.

Speaker 1 (33:47):
Be sure to catch live editions of Two Pros and
a Cup of Joe with Brady Quinn, LeVar Arrington, and
Jonas Knox weekdays at six am Eastern, three am Pacific.

Speaker 3 (33:57):
So this is interesting.

Speaker 2 (33:59):
It just came out out from Ian Rappaport of the
NFL Network that Hassan Reddick has hired an agent, Drew
Rosenhaus and Ryan Matha has his new agents. And Rosenhaus
says Drew he will meet with the Jets before the
game tonight to begin the process of resolving the situation.

Speaker 3 (34:19):
And ending the holdout.

Speaker 2 (34:21):
So maybe a little bit of hope for uh Hassan
Reddick getting back to the Jets.

Speaker 3 (34:26):
I'll tell you what, man, no one markets themselves like Drew.
Drew really does. Like in this case, he's not only
going to be the savior to a Son Reddick, but
he looks like the savior to the Jets fans as well,
that they get one of these top players who can
help them in this case with a Hassan Reddick. But
he just does a great job, you know, put his
name out there. You know, I know there's maybe some

(34:48):
people who have mixed opinions on the contract work that
he does. But he gets well, I mean that may
be the case, but he gets gets guys opportunities, he
gets himself out there. Like I'm not hating for the
way markets himself does. I made sure that was the
first name. Tyreek Hill was shout now and he was
on the ground after. I mean, that's here just telling

(35:10):
you call sauw.

Speaker 7 (35:14):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (35:14):
So we uh, we'll get to see how that plays
out here.

Speaker 2 (35:17):
So maybe maybe he arrives, maybe the Jets get their
pass rusher. And then again maybe now because there's been
all sorts of stuff that's come out on a son
Reddick that they were close to having a deal resolved
and they were going to get more money and it
was going to be a reworked contract, and then he
backed out on it, and then he's got a business
partner who's suing him for one point six million dollars.

(35:38):
So a lot of smoke, a lot of noise for
his Sonreddick when it comes to his situation with the Jets.
But if he does arrive, maybe this just means that
Woody Johnson's please last week.

Speaker 3 (35:48):
Uh we're heard. Yeah, maybe maybe maybe it worked.

Speaker 2 (35:51):
By the way, we do have a quote from Drew
Rosenhaus who said the following, we look forward to working
with the Jets to get this resolved as soon as possible.
Hassan Reddick would like to be a New York Jet
for years to come. And our goal is to make
that happen. So look at that, all of a sudden,
new agent, you know, brand new coach, and now, uh,
you know, Hassan Reddick is ready to be a Jet

(36:11):
for years to come. So so things are on the
rise for the New York Jets. See, LeVar, you wanted
to give up on them too soon? Man, Well, I'm
Brady and I stood our ground.

Speaker 3 (36:20):
Make your work in Detroit.

Speaker 6 (36:21):
But you guys didn't feel like he fit the uh
the proper criteria to be d type.

Speaker 3 (36:28):
Yeah, okay, that's what you mean. First off, I'm not
on Jonas's team or anything. Now why not? Okay, but LaVar,
you keep going with what you were saying. Okay, that's
that was it?

Speaker 6 (36:37):
That was yeah, okay, all right, So you guys, how
how how effective do you guys think Hassan could be
if he gets back in there.

Speaker 3 (36:47):
I mean, I think it could be effective. Look, I
mean this defense is already one of the better defenses,
so there's no doubt he can help out. I don't
know how long it's going to take him get up
to speed. It's not like we have any insider information
as too. If he's working out and then he's got
to get into football shape. Even if he is in shape.

Speaker 2 (37:04):
But look, I don't think it hurts your team adding
another edge rusher, you know, and you know as well
as anyone, LeVar.

Speaker 3 (37:11):
You get to these third downs, these these predictable passing situations,
every team wants to get their four best pass rushers
on the field, and you add that guy to the
mix of what they already have with the Jets, like,
that's a dangerous combination. So I think it will help
if he can get there. It's just a matter of
if he will actually get there, because it appears that
Woody Johnson doesn't understand that having a nice conversation and

(37:33):
driving up ninety five isn't really all Hassan Redick's looking for.
He's looking for more guarantees, more money, yeah, and cash
to give him a little more peace of mind if
he's going to go out there and play.

Speaker 2 (37:44):
The way he has last three years Arizona, Carolina, Philadelphia.

Speaker 3 (37:48):
He produced in all those places.

Speaker 2 (37:50):
So I mean, if you're just looking at the trend line,
it does feel like, you know, there's an opportunity for
him and they're going to be much better with him
than without him. So but We've got Monday Night football
coming up later on a battle for the AFC East
between the Bills and the Jets, so we will recap
that for you tomorrow. Now it's time to look back

(38:10):
on somebody who's got a perfect record. I didn't know
this was actually a thing, but Jim Harbaugh and the
Chargers get it done at Denbury yesterday. You know the game,
the score looks a lot closer than the game actually was.

Speaker 3 (38:24):
I don't.

Speaker 2 (38:25):
I mean the Courtland Sutton touchdown in my mind that
shouldn't have been a touchdown was ruled a touchdown. There
wasn't enough evidence to overturn it. But nonetheless, the Chargers
get it done.

Speaker 3 (38:34):
LA wins.

Speaker 2 (38:35):
But it was also following an incident that took place
pregame where Jim Harbaugh went into the medical tent and
then went into the locker room. Nobody could figure out
what was going on. Then this rumor started on social
media that some people thought maybe he crapped his pants
because he came out wearing different pants or something like that,
so they assumed he had an accident. I just thought

(38:55):
you actually were the one that said that, No, that
was not me. Again, brock it looked like, based on
what you said before the show in your notes, that
you are lady to believe That's no, that was that
was just some of the speculation. But again, as a
broadcast professional, I wouldn't go down that road.

Speaker 3 (39:11):
Right personally, You've.

Speaker 6 (39:12):
Been a total broadcast professional today, by the way, total
all the way.

Speaker 3 (39:16):
I mean, it's just a yeah, there you go.

Speaker 2 (39:19):
Good I'm proud of and that's and that's the whole
point here, Like, You've got to be a professional. And
I'm trying to maintain my perfect record. And apparently Jim
Harbough's got a perfect record because he.

Speaker 6 (39:29):
Has this through it all, irregular heartbeat, everything, just through
it all, he just maintained, got it done, heart arrhythmia.

Speaker 3 (39:37):
Good for him. Good you know, they win the game.
I mean he apparently this is not the first time
this has happened.

Speaker 5 (39:45):
Everything end up turned out to be okay. I deal
with this, Uh I guess minor.

Speaker 8 (39:50):
It's called atril flutter and uh I got into an
episode of the Day with it, and then doctors checked
me out and it got back into sinus rhythm.

Speaker 5 (40:01):
I have qualified to talk about. Yeah, this is me
I'm allowed to you know, I've had two and on
with an arrhythmias.

Speaker 2 (40:10):
How about that perfect record with hard you don't want
to lose that one? Yeah, that's it could be a
scary thing. I know people who deal with this, and
you know your heart starts racing, I mean like two
hundred and fifty beats per minute. I mean think about
something and that you know that range. So I don't
know where your heart kind of gets off kills her
and starts beating like that, And it could scare a

(40:31):
lot of people.

Speaker 3 (40:32):
So glad he's okay. Hopefully they can figure it a
way of treating it so he doesn't have to have
these like flare ups. But I'm sure the NFL AT
coaching position doesn't help with all that. What triggers it stress,
I don't know. I mean, like depending on the different types.
My mom deals with something called SVT and she still
to this day can't diagnose what exactly causes it. She

(40:54):
thinks it could be food, she thinks it sometimes could
be like perfume or colone. You know, sometimes things like
that that like set it off. But either way, it's
you know, there's different medication, there's different you know, operations.
You can have to help kind of set it right.
Depending on the case. Obviously everyone's different, but it is
something that's like pretty serious, you know, especially when people

(41:14):
start talking about their heart. Man, once that ticker starts
going too fast or maybe even too slow, you will recognize.
And if you're a family member, you've got somebody who
deals with it. It's it can be a scary situation.

Speaker 6 (41:27):
Lee.

Speaker 9 (41:27):
So the first time this happened, this was in twenty twelve,
you were saying Niners Bears. Yes, as he describes it,
a big game for Colin Kaepernick, big win.

Speaker 3 (41:39):
Versus the Bears.

Speaker 9 (41:41):
Oh well, says he always remembers it because of it.

Speaker 2 (41:44):
Yeah, maybe it was Maybe it was altitude. I don't know,
but but good for Jim Harbaugh they I don't know.
Maybe it was the altitude, I don't know. Maybe the
altitude where San Francisco, Chicago and Denver yesterday where they were,
Oh gotcha.

Speaker 3 (41:56):
You know, it couldn't been that. I don't know, but
I do know this.

Speaker 2 (41:59):
When it comes to the AFC West, it is Chiefs
and everybody else. But I think we've clearly seen a
divide that yeah it's Chiefs, but LA's in the mix
kind of and then Denver is whatever, and then the
Raiders just aren't and the Raiders feel like they are.

Speaker 3 (42:17):
They're heading in the wrong direction in a hurry.

Speaker 2 (42:20):
And I'm just glad they changed quarterbacks because that was
really going to fix everything.

Speaker 3 (42:24):
I think we already knew that that wasn't going to
be the case.

Speaker 6 (42:28):
Then you do think coming into the season, you know,
I think they felt like they whoever's making the decisions,
they needed to make a change that maybe they felt
like I mean, you'd have to assume they felt like
it gave them a better opportunity of winning the games.
I just don't think they have a quarterback. And coming
into the season, I said they don't have a quarterback.

(42:49):
And listen, whether you're high on Minshew or you're high
on O'Connell, I just think they're both back up quarterbacks.
You don't have a that can, you know, be the
difference maker at that position. And with that being said,
I don't even put the entirety of what's going on

(43:10):
with this team at.

Speaker 3 (43:11):
The quarterback's position. They have issues, and we've made that point.

Speaker 6 (43:15):
I've made the point they've had they've got issues as
a full team, as a full roster. They have issues
and those issues aren't going to get addressed. It doesn't
seem like that it's for certain, not this season. So
I think the bigger question that surrounds the Las Vegas

(43:38):
Raiders is what is a successful year for the Raiders?
Legitimately and realistically? What is the real expectations of a
successful year for this team? I mean, I don't think
that there's a I mean, maybe there's a quarterback that
you guys think is good enough for them.

Speaker 3 (43:59):
To to like, you know, well that that ship's sailed
though now right, and here's next year's draft though, well,
and then look Shador Sanders at Colorado, Carson Beck at Georgia,
Camlore to Miami. Those will be the three top guys
quin Yours will be in that conversation too from Texas.

Speaker 6 (44:14):
Are those guys good enough for it to be a
losing season?

Speaker 3 (44:19):
Is a win for them? Are they good? Are they
that good that that's a that's a hard question to
answer because you know that it doesn't feel as bullproof
as other prospects. But I mean, here's the reality is
people felt that way about Trevor Lawrence, right, true, I
don't think we're talking that way about Trevor Lawrence after
this past weekend's game. Now, so even if I said, hey,
I think Shador Sanders is that guy, depending on the

(44:42):
situation and circumstance he enters into it, it might not
turn out to be the case. You know, we all
try to make these predictions and prophesize how it's going
to work out when a player gets to a certain place,
But you know, so much of the time it's also
what's there, what's around them, the organization, the stability, everything
else that goes along with that. It's a culmination of things.

(45:03):
I was just going to go back on this when
you're saying, like, what's a successful season for the Raiders
this year? That's part of the issue with the NFL
and what's happened now, even despite the fact they play
seventeen games, is six seven games in the season. When
you get a team that's a one WIM team, like,
what does your fan base start saying, well, now we
wanted to lose all of them, Like instead of fighting back,

(45:23):
they're like, well no, because now we get that maybe
the top pick in the draft next year, So just
have a terrible season. Like So to answer your question, like, yeah,
I guess if people really love Schadora Sanders or Carson Beck, whoever,
cam Ward, whoever you want to throw into that conversation,
that I guess is how you would then define for
the Raiders a team that we knew was going to

(45:44):
be in a bit more of a rebuilding mode anyway
this year. I guess that's how you define it effective
because this may set them up to then have success
in twenty twenty five, twenty twenty six in the future.
But that's the crazy thing for me about the NFL
that's kind of been a bit of a turnoff is
we don't even talk about teams like playing spoiler. Like

(46:04):
one of the greatest privileges you had when you were
in Cleveland and you weren't in a playoff hunt was
trying to spoil it for the Pittsburgh Steelers. We did
that one time on Thursday Night Football late in the
season in two thousand and nine. So there's not even
that like element anymore. Really, Like you have that more
in college.

Speaker 2 (46:20):
You don't really have that in an NFL because so
much of it has been about Okay, let's already spin
it forward to next year's draft.

Speaker 3 (46:27):
Let's see, like who we're gonna get like, how can
we get, you know, in position to get the best
player possible? How can we get that number one overall pick?
You know, I just I almost wish there was an
element of protection where whether it's an NFL draft lottery
or however we go about doing it, I almost wish
there's an element of protection. So that wasn't the case,
because that's I think how people would, probably who are

(46:49):
Raiders fans, define the rest of this season is, well,
let's put ourselves in a position to get the top
quarterback in next year's draft. Am I wrong for saying that?

Speaker 2 (46:57):
No, No, it's it's and it's a low users mentality.
And what's weird about the Raiders as well too?

Speaker 3 (47:04):
But don't you think the NFL's done that to themselves? Yeah,
by how to set up the draft?

Speaker 2 (47:08):
I agree, No, I totally agree. Like if you wanted
to do some sort of a lottery system, it would
make the most sense. And like you remember when the
Texans beat so it was Houston was playing oh gosh,
why am I blanket on it? But it was basically
to get the number one pick, and the Texans ended
up winning a game at the end, which cost them

(47:29):
the number one pick in Chicago got it, which turned
into the trade that Bryce Young to Carolina and the
Bears got the number one pick the following year because
Carolina stunk. But there were Texans fans that were pissed
off at Lovey Smith and Davis Mills because they won
the game, and like they showed the Texans owner on
the sideline and he looked pissed. And now you look

(47:50):
at it and you go, well, it worked out because
you got CJ. Stroud and he's a star. But it's
this weird loser's mentality of like, Okay, well, then let's
just lose every game and then the Raiders are a
great fan base, that's a historic fan base. Yesterday I
had a buddy who was at the game. He said
it was seventy percent Steelers fans. And it's not like

(48:10):
the Steelers are lighting the league up, but it just
feels like Raider fans are already at the point to
where they're like, all right, we suck Davante once out,
we don't have a solution at quarterback. We lost out
on the Michael Pennock situation in the draft because Atlanta
took him, and now it's just kind of okay, well,
sell your tickets off, let the visitors take over, and

(48:32):
just hope you get to the end of the season. Meanwhile,
Antonio Pierce has still got to be the coach there,
and he's going to be the one who's gotta wear
the ls and probably get a lot of the heat
if they want to make a change.

Speaker 3 (48:43):
So I don't know.

Speaker 6 (48:44):
I think it's it's more personnel driven, and again he
has an all star cast of personnel at the coaches
and advisory positions. I think they gotta if you're if
you're you know, Mark Davison this situation, I think you
really would be doing yourself a disservice if you did

(49:05):
not give this group of men the opportunity to put
together execute whatever it is their plan is in terms
of how they want to build this roster.

Speaker 2 (49:15):
I wonder what Ap thought of Derek Carr, Like I
wonder if he would have pushed for them to keep
Derek Carr, because there was some speculation whether or not
it was Mark Davis or Josh McDaniels that wasn't sold
on Derek Carr. But I wonder if Antonio appears was
the coach, if he would have I mean, we.

Speaker 6 (49:31):
Know he wanted a quarterback. I know we know that
everybody knows he wanted a quarterback, which means that he
knew he did not have a quarterback, so we could
be clear on that. Yeah, now I don't know what
that means. If Derek carr is still on the team.
Is that what comes out from what we know about
what Ap was looking for.

Speaker 3 (49:49):
For this team. If Derek Carr at just went out.

Speaker 6 (49:53):
Davante doesn't want out, you can address other issues that
are connected to your team, you know, other positions because
you don't necessarily need a quarterback. You don't need a receiver.
I mean, you had Josh Jacobs. You you added a
dope ass tight end in your draft. So now you
got a tight end, you got a dope receiver, you

(50:14):
got a quarterback. I'm just saying, man, you know, it's
a different it could be a different tail of the
tape if if car is still there. But it's a
hypothetical so it doesn't really matter.
