He's ready to go. Come on, man, go. Where where
are we going?
Speaker 4 (01:30):
Oh? I don't know.
Speaker 5 (01:32):
I thought you were ready to go? Guns are out today?
And all right.
Speaker 6 (01:38):
So last week we did a little something called coach
speak where we heard some sound from various coaches around
the NFL and we heard them try and explain a
question that was asked to them in a very coach
speak type of way, and we.
Speaker 4 (01:56):
Tried to try to coach splain.
Speaker 5 (01:58):
Yeah, we're going to do that now again. Yeah you ready?
Speaker 6 (02:00):
All right, So here we go. Patty Speaks is ready.
He's got sound bites from various coaches around this week,
So let's started. Coach speak. Will explain, Patty will explain
what the context is, and we will react to see
(02:23):
whether or not the coach is telling the truth or
they're just full of crap.
Speaker 5 (02:26):
All right, So let's go ahead, all right, So I
got us five for us a gentleman, and we're gonna
start off with what is arguably the goat here of
the NFL. We got Bill Belichick. Guys, Yes, not NFL
right now, but it still counts nonetheless. So Bill Belichick
was asked recently about the New York Giants head coaching job,
(02:47):
and he was wanting to answer, saying, you know, we're
moving on. You know, we're on the wake for us
and all that good stuff. And you know what Larina
play us played out for him us. What he's telling
the guys, and I'll let you guys think what he says.
Speaker 7 (03:00):
I've been done this real before. I'm focused on wake Forest.
That's it, and that's my commandment of this team. And
next week it'll be to our next opponent and so forth.
But you know, I'm here to do best I can
for this team.
Speaker 5 (03:13):
All right, Jonas, you get to go first? What do
you think?
Speaker 4 (03:16):
He said?
Speaker 6 (03:17):
Yeah, of course I want to go take the Giant's job.
Do you think I want to hang out here?
Speaker 8 (03:21):
Like?
Speaker 6 (03:21):
I can't win? Even in the ACC, I can't win
now we're like, I've got to go win two of
three to get to bull eligible. I'm focused on Wake Forest.
Last I checked, that was a touchdown underdog against wake Forest. Yeah,
of course I want the Giants job. It's where I
started and had a lot of success in my NFL career.
I'd love to go back. I'd love to be a
part of that organization again and try and become the all.
Speaker 5 (03:44):
Time winning as coach in NFL history. All Right, varyr
up next to what do you think?
Speaker 4 (03:50):
I think what he was.
Speaker 3 (03:50):
Trying to say was, of course I want to go
back to the National Football League. At least there, the
age range and the age bracket of those that I
I am coaching won't be that of my girlfriend. I
will be safer and knowing what my job is, I'd
be able to coach better because I wouldn't be shooting
away guys who are shooting their sp constantly at my people.
Speaker 5 (04:14):
Hey Brady, what about you man?
Speaker 1 (04:18):
I'm gonna take a different approach to this one. Look, guys,
we've won two.
Speaker 4 (04:23):
In a row.
Speaker 5 (04:23):
It's been a rough season.
Speaker 1 (04:25):
I haven't experienced something like this ever, not on that
college level. Can we just focus on wake Forest, like
we could actually win this game. Heck, maybe we can
knock off Duke beat Duke.
Speaker 4 (04:36):
That'd be fun.
Speaker 1 (04:37):
Maybe NC State, like we can actually maybe win out.
Could we possibly become buligible? And you guys are talking
about other stuff. It's like, I'm just focused on the
right here right now. It's been a rough go of it,
all right.
Speaker 5 (04:51):
Very literal. I'll take it. Answers, galaor I love him?
All right. Next up we have Pittsburgh Steelers head coach
Mike Tomlin was d asked just about yet again Aaron Rodgers,
especially after this recent lily type of a game, Loreena,
could you play that for us please?
Speaker 9 (05:10):
I'm not going to, you know, chalk it up to
an off night, but there are no long term concerns.
I'm just not going to allow.
Speaker 5 (05:16):
Your words to be my words.
Speaker 9 (05:18):
That's all. Sunday night was what it was. But I
have no long term reservations about his ability to play
the position and play the position at a high level
for us.
Speaker 5 (05:28):
All right, var you get first shout this one.
Speaker 3 (05:30):
Well, what it sounds like to me is what he's
trying to say is is he wakes up, he gargles,
he brushes his teeth, he brushes them more than one time,
he meets the time requirements, and so the words that
come out of his mouth are fresh and clean, while
the words that were coming out of that reporter's mouth
were more like, you know, tartared field, cavity field, funky
(05:55):
breath field, holatosis field type things that we're coming out
of his mouth. And he just doesn't want to have
the same words coming out of his fresh, clean mouth
that are coming out of the potty mouth of that
their reporter, like that mic right there, that's right, because yeah,
you took your mic co took my mic.
Speaker 5 (06:16):
I mean talk about.
Speaker 3 (06:17):
Weird proclivities like who takes your headphones and your your
micro's savages around here?
Speaker 5 (06:23):
Man boy, allright, next go around? Uh well, infatuations a
little bit alright, Brady Quinn, you get to go next.
What's up?
Speaker 4 (06:31):
Var was talking so long? I don't remember what Tomlin said.
I think it was something so bang Roger's age.
Speaker 1 (06:38):
A little concern there, Yeah, yeah, I'm concerned.
Speaker 4 (06:41):
I know exactly what you guys.
Speaker 1 (06:42):
Are talking about because we're talking about it behind the
scenes too, and uh, we're just not going to draw
attention to it because we know that he'll, uh, he
a little sensitive to it. So we're doing the best
we can. Look, we made this bed. I'm gonna lay in.
Speaker 5 (06:56):
It, all right, Jonas, you get the final one on
top and what's up.
Speaker 6 (07:00):
Yeah, of course there's long term concerns our quarterbacks. Old
if he cut of fartest back would go out. You
saw how he looked on Sunday Night football. But we
don't have any choices here, Like, he's what we got.
We just got to roll the dice and hope that
dice stays upright, and just hope one of our offensive
lineman doesn't tackle him again and he complains about him
and tries to assault the guy for going near him
and touching him, because he's he's fragile at this point
(07:22):
in his career. He's got to be a Hall of Famer.
We're just hoping we can get a fraction of that
Hall of Fame career down the stretch so that we
can win that division because we're sure as hell I'm
not going to make the playoffs as a wildcard team.
Speaker 10 (07:33):
Oh god, all right, I like all those answers, like
Levarsa the best platosis, let's go, he went into it.
Speaker 5 (07:45):
I was like, go, let's go all right?
Speaker 4 (07:47):
Next to old.
Speaker 3 (07:50):
His fart can blow his back out, Like what checkout
depends my guy? That butt health? Oh man?
Speaker 5 (07:59):
Well, next, so we got Jim Harrbot, coach of the
Edge Chargers here. This one was a little quick one,
but it's kind of a fun one because he was
a just a head coach gushing over his star quarterback,
gushing over Justin Herbert. He was calling him a beast. Yeah,
calling him a beast, and have a little fun with it. Lareena,
could you play that for me please?
Speaker 11 (08:16):
I do have an update on his physical status. He's
still a beast, Brady.
Speaker 5 (08:28):
I'll let you go first on this one. I love him.
Speaker 4 (08:35):
I love him so much.
Speaker 1 (08:37):
He's playing behind a bunch of backups right now and
he's made us look good.
Speaker 4 (08:41):
I love him. That's why I'm here. I love him.
I love him so.
Speaker 5 (08:46):
Much, Jonas you're getting next. Of course, he's a beast.
Speaker 6 (08:51):
You see that piece of ass he's walking around with now,
I mean, come on, man, and he's keeping us afloat.
Our offensive line is banged up. We're down two tackles
for the year. One tackle. We just gave a bunch
of money too. We had a running back who signed
with us and then blew his face off in a
fireworks accident, then got hurt like week two of the season.
Like I'm throwing to a guy named Maconkey, trying to
(09:14):
make plays the best I can. Keithan Allen, we had
to give him some little like a gimmicky pass to
set the all time record. I mean, listen, he's a beast.
He's keeping us afloat on offense. But ultimately we know
how this is gonna go. There's gonna be an injury,
there's gonna be something that pops up, and we're gonna.
Speaker 5 (09:29):
Screw the pooch in the postseason. All right, var you
get final one on Herbie. I just can't stop looking
at him.
Speaker 3 (09:40):
Every time he walks into the room, he just fills
the room up with beast energy. He's something so special
to me. I think the world of him. Ah, what
an amazing man.
Speaker 5 (09:57):
By the way, if they didn't have Herbert, where the
hell would they be?
Speaker 3 (10:02):
The prognosis that my eyes give my brain every single
time his beast?
Speaker 5 (10:11):
Why are you two for two on this week? He
killing me right now? Oh let's go oh man? All right,
next time we got a Bengals head coach Zach Taylor
was asked about Joe Burrow, you know, actually getting some
practice reps in and Loreena, could you let a Zach
could take.
Speaker 3 (10:29):
It from here.
Speaker 12 (10:29):
I think he's ready for this part of the recovery,
you know, to come back on a limited basis and
progress it, you know, on the field with the players.
So I think he's in a good point internally. This
is always a good timeline for us. He's worked really
hard to get to this point to back on the
field in a limited form, and so I'm excited to
get Hi out there today.
Speaker 5 (10:46):
All right, Jonas, you get first one at this.
Speaker 6 (10:48):
And by the way, what I say get him out
there today, I mean in the secondary because we've got
a quarterback like Joe Flacco's our guy. He's in his
forties and he is slinging it and he's having a
good time and he's fun to watch. It's a great story.
He just picked up right where Joe Burrow last left
off with the chemistry with those wide receivers. He's not
the issue. Our defense is a diaper fire. We stink
(11:10):
out loud. We can't stop anybody. The Jets lost the
Bears loss screwed our season up. So Joe Burrow will
be back, but unfortunately he's going to be back in
the secondary. All right, var what what he was saying,
He's going to be the secondary?
Speaker 5 (11:30):
It is really good. Do I do like it? I
do buy it.
Speaker 3 (11:35):
I think what he's saying there and what he's feeling
there is that.
Speaker 5 (11:42):
He's ready for Joe Burrow to come back.
Speaker 3 (11:45):
He's ready for Joe Burrow to play for the Cincinnati Bengals.
They are literally only two games out of being tied
for the top of the AFC North.
Speaker 5 (11:58):
I do believe.
Speaker 3 (11:59):
We just want our franchise quarterback back in the saddle.
And by telling you the words that I'm telling you,
I feel like I'm letting Joe Burrow know that it's time.
It's time for you to come back and be a beast.
Speaker 5 (12:18):
Well it is time to hear what Brady Quinn has
to say on this one.
Speaker 1 (12:22):
Brady, please don't fire me. He's been backed up a lot.
I just want my quarterback back. He makes all the
difference in the world right now.
Speaker 4 (12:32):
Just don't fire me.
Speaker 5 (12:34):
We just get to quit.
Speaker 1 (12:35):
Just get to Joe Burrow be it back, and you
guys could talk about Joe and not about me and
firing me.
Speaker 5 (12:41):
Just don't fire me. Yeah, I didn't know that Joe
Burrow was out right. Yeah, he wasn't here. It wasn't
even here.
Speaker 4 (12:47):
I've been here the whole time. He hasn't been, though.
Speaker 1 (12:49):
Yeah, we can't and I don't place, so we can't
do without him what I am.
Speaker 6 (12:54):
By the way, Zach Taylor's record with him, without Joe Burrow,
It's like, really, there's a I had difference and I
can't figure out our contract.
Speaker 4 (13:02):
You can't do it.
Speaker 5 (13:06):
Oh my goodness. Honestly, Brady, you win this one. You
got that one, you got it.
Speaker 3 (13:12):
Come on, Jonas, this next.
Speaker 5 (13:14):
One's for you. Come on, Jonas, you got you got
one last shot, Jones, come on, all right. We got
Kevin Stefanski, head coach of the Browns guys, and he
was asked on well, some timetables for shudor Sanders. Maybe
he's being a little vague. Uh, Lorena, could you play
for mister Stefanski please?
Speaker 13 (13:31):
I don't think it's fair to speculate. Darryl or We're
committed to getting better as an offense. Dylan is certainly
committing to improving every which way he can.
Speaker 5 (13:40):
All the while, all.
Speaker 13 (13:41):
Of our players, young players are are developing and working
so hard behind the scenes to make sure that they're
getting better on a daily base.
Speaker 5 (13:50):
All right, var you get first one.
Speaker 3 (13:53):
Well, what he was basically trying to say is he's
he's got hemorrhoids and and I'm trying to heal from
my hemphrooids. I've been very irritated and my butt hurts,
and I'm I'm improving and I'm getting better.
Speaker 5 (14:09):
And as I improve and as I.
Speaker 3 (14:10):
Get better, I'll feel better as a coach or the
Cleveland Browns with some inflamed.
Speaker 5 (14:18):
Bad hemorrhoids. Brady, I'm gonna let you go next, because
I'm gonna say I'm gonna let you just go last
on this one.
Speaker 4 (14:25):
Yeah, it's not the hemorrhoids.
Speaker 1 (14:28):
It's the undisturbed sleep Let mattress for a match uh

five hundred dollars that select temp repeting adjustable mattresses. Restrictions
apply next state delivery available on select mattresses subject to location.
Speaker 4 (14:45):
Sea store for more details.
Speaker 3 (14:57):
I'll accept that that's gonna be hard to top.
Speaker 5 (15:03):
Tody's you got pressure on you, bro, all right.
Speaker 6 (15:05):
Kevin Stefanski's basically saying, look, this place sucks.
Speaker 5 (15:09):
All right. I look like a werewolf.
Speaker 6 (15:11):
I can't even go trick or treating with my family
because I had to answer questions about some guy that
showed a fake rolex after he beat seven to eleven
State in college. We got bigger issues here. Offensively, there's injuries.
Defensively we're great, but I'm gonna be out the door
because we had an owner give a massive contract to
a weirdo who went to the grab lab too many
times and got popped for it and then couldn't stay
(15:33):
healthy and stay on the field. Joe Flacco got here
one comeback player of the year over a guy that
almost died on the turf. They decided not to resign
him for whatever reason. Then we bring him back, and
then we trade him for whatever reason. This place stinks.
I can't make it work here. Ask all the shad
or Sanders questions you want, Darryl, But unfortunately, I'm gonna
(15:54):
be out the door after.
Speaker 5 (15:55):
The year is over. All three of you did magnet
if it's in this last one. Oh, but you know what,
just based on one word or one phrase only on
this the winner of this last one, Jonas not to.
Speaker 10 (16:10):
The Gravel about what up the Gravel album?
Speaker 3 (16:13):
One and over for me there, Yo, we know whose
show this is because that was so weak?
Speaker 5 (16:21):
What do you mean you want to junk?
Speaker 4 (16:23):
Was weak?
Speaker 5 (16:24):
LaVar, you're the LaVar. You and Brady are sharing the
crown today.
Speaker 3 (16:27):
Mattress Firm was the winner of that round that was
related to the segment. Mattress Firm was the winner of
that round. But whatever, give it the Yonas emeralds that
that was funny as hell. I'm just going for the
last I'm not going for delivered. I'm not going for
(16:48):
literal things. I'm just going for it for the laughs.
You know what's last of you had a hemorrhoid. I
don't think I've ever had a hemorrhoid really, no.
Speaker 5 (16:58):
No have you? How do you get one? I think
you might.
Speaker 3 (17:02):
I think you're like you over exert yourself, you know,
when you're pushing and or if you're on the pod
for too long. Yeah I'm not here, I'm not really
a woman. I think it's when you're pregnant. Yeah, pregnancy,
it happens during pregnancy. Yeah, we bring that up.
Speaker 1 (17:19):
But yeah, okay, I was thrown off when you said
the hemorrhoids.
Speaker 4 (17:25):
I'm glad I did not think we're gonna hemorrhoid mentioned
this morning.
Speaker 5 (17:28):
Yeah, I mean it's you know that.
Speaker 3 (17:33):
I mean, you know our guy, you know what, what's
the radio guy Howard Stern made you know, shock Jock
Tell Shot Jock radio popular. I just figure I shock
our people out there listening. Like if you were doing
your morning duties or driving or whatever it is that
you were doing, then you heard hemorrhoid pop up on
on sports radio talking about a coach. I mean it
(17:56):
might have made you, you know, pay attention. That's all,
you know, I mean, a hemorrhoid. I mean, that's you know,
we can all relate to it. That's the guy who gets.
Speaker 6 (18:06):
In this car to drive to work and he first
think he puts on his hearing you talk about a hemorrhoid.
Speaker 5 (18:10):
Yeah, there you go, and he's like, dang, mine is
inflamed right now.
Speaker 6 (18:13):
Damn.
Speaker 3 (18:14):
He's talking and even thinking about until he said something
talking to me, Dang, who are you talking to You're
talking to my.

Ass, literally literally your ass.

I'm good.
Speaker 14 (22:01):
How you guys doing good?
Speaker 5 (22:02):
Not too bad?
Speaker 1 (22:03):
You know, I'm trying to figure out what's gonna have
with the Giants?
Speaker 4 (22:06):
Man?
Speaker 5 (22:07):
Was that unexpected for you?
Speaker 1 (22:08):
Did you get a sense that that may happen in
seasoning and it's just gonna be dable? I think most
people's question is why not Joe Shane as well?
Speaker 14 (22:17):
Yeah, well let's start with like why now. I think
it is, like, you know, you'd be right to think
this is out of character for the Giants, This isn't
generally the way they operate, But you know, I think
it was just kind of like the repeat of a
lot of different things. And so you know, you start
with the fact that they're two and eight for the
third straight year, which when somebody there told me that,
I was a little taken aback, like wow, and realize
(22:40):
that was the case. They haven't won consecutive games in
almost two years. And then you look at kind of
a couple of things that happened this year. They have
a big winner the Chargers, the next week, they they
they lose to the Saints in New Orleans. They have
a big win over the Eagles, and then they then
comes the bone lead in Denver, and then that lone
lead in Denver is followed by another big blown lead
(23:03):
in Chicago this weekend, and so you know, I think
it's just like a pattern of things over and over
and over again, and it's this just isn't getting better.
So you know, this gives them an opportunity to, you know,
really do their research out in the open and start
their search. Now they're gonna look at Mike Kaska as
(23:24):
as as a potential head coaching candidate. You know, Kaska
is somebody who's got who played in the league, who's
got you know, the Andy Reids stamp of approval and
you know, and and and and it's really well respected,
like had you know, did well in interviews when he's
had the chance to interview for ed coaching jobs too.
(23:45):
And then as far as keeping Joe Shane, I mean,
I I don't know that anything's set in stone yet.
I think that the big thing for them now is
he's done a lot to modernize their operation. They were
really old school, and he's done a lot to sort
of change where they're at and you know, bring everybody
together under one system over the last four years. So
(24:06):
I don't think they just wanted to throw all of
the progress they're out right away and didn't see the
need to do that right now. So totally the.
Speaker 8 (24:16):
Head coaching search and we'll see which way that goes.
Speaker 14 (24:18):
You know, we've seen cases in the past where the
general manager made it through an initial firing and didn't
didn't make it through the end.
Speaker 8 (24:26):
So I'm not saying anything's.
Speaker 14 (24:27):
Impossible, but for now, Jolie, the effort to go find
the next head coach.
Speaker 6 (24:32):
Now, one are the chances that somebody who currently is
the head coach in Chapel Hill would potentially be on
the list of candidates, Like I.
Speaker 14 (24:40):
Think Bill would walk on hot coals to get that job.
I just I don't know that the Giants will do it.
I mean if this had been ten years ago, yeah,
I could see that.
Speaker 8 (24:50):
Yeah, he's seventy three years old and.
Speaker 14 (24:52):
Like things haven't gone good of late.
Speaker 4 (24:54):
You know.
Speaker 14 (24:55):
I think one of the biggest problems he's had over
the last five years has been his ability to fill
out of staff. That was one thing he was incredible at,
like when they were really rolling in New England. His
ability to develop people, players, coaches, you know, front office
people that like machine kept churning and churning and charning
over his twenty years and over his first.
Speaker 8 (25:16):
Twenty years New England.
Speaker 14 (25:18):
And really slowed down at the end. And so you know,
I I'm rooting for it. You know, Jonas, that would
be great. That'd be an awesome story. You know, like
let's get Bill Belichick or Lane Kiff into New York.
Like that would be fun to see there those guys there.
I just don't know that it's the fit for what
the Giants need right now.
Speaker 5 (25:37):
Lane Kiffin would be a vibe in New York.
Speaker 15 (25:40):
Uh, that would be fun. That's not really like and
you got the connection to Jackson Dart, but I I
just I that generally hasn't been the sort of way.
Speaker 14 (25:52):
The Giants go. But I mean I think that it's
on them now, and I to their credit, they are
going to go into this with a really open mind.
That is on them now to rethink a bunch of things,
because you look at the track record now. The last
time they successfully hired a head coach, I had a
successful head coaching higher with two thousand and four with
Tom Coughlin. So it's been almost it's been over twenty
(26:14):
years since they've got one of these rights.
Speaker 5 (26:16):
Abe.
Speaker 3 (26:17):
I wanted to ask you about Ben Johnson. I mean,
you guys wrote about it, the three Stages of winning
and just how he has has really kind of worked
with or I guess team building more so than I
guess winning. But it just seems as though at six
and three, his impact on this Beers team has been outstanding.
(26:44):
What's the you know, what's the ceiling for them this season?
And from your estimation, I maybe you.
Speaker 14 (26:51):
Get in the playoffs seeing a scratch out a win,
like I don't know, I don't know that there's much
beyond that, but I think you've certainly created a foundation
for the future now and Cayles find better too, you know,
Like that's the other thing is, like I think what's
impressive about it is like they really got to the
early parts of the season with Caleb being pretty inconsistent
(27:13):
and like going through it, and like now it's starting
to feel like they're coming out the other side from
a quarterback development standpoint, not that like he's a superstar.
Speaker 4 (27:24):
But.
Speaker 8 (27:27):
Oh no, you know, we're good.
Speaker 14 (27:34):
Lost it all right, So I just walked outside for
a second, but I wanted to get some fresh air.
I appreciate that. Yeah, yeah, so, I mean, but Kal
has made some huge plays the last couple of weeks,
the Throat of Love one to to beat the to
beat the Bengals.
Speaker 8 (27:50):
In Cincinnati, and then you know, two.
Speaker 14 (27:52):
Big runs to beat the Giants last week. So you know,
I think that piece of it, like that you're seeing
Caleb like come along as their winning is a great
time for where they're going. And you know, certainly I
think like their ability to build along the line to
scrimmage over the last couple of off seasons as paying
off to.
Speaker 1 (28:11):
Hey, Albert, why are you getting shippy with some guy
on X last night? Over at action in the Northern
Illinois game.
Speaker 8 (28:19):
Oh yeah that was fun. Yeah.
Speaker 14 (28:20):
Well, I mean, I I I live in Massachusetts or
State University is the University of.
Speaker 8 (28:25):
Massachusetts, and so like I don't know.
Speaker 14 (28:28):
Every so often I'll turn on some action and I
honestly did not even know until last night that Hugh
mass is now a full member of the of the MAC,
which I guess like the regional thing with conferences.
Speaker 4 (28:42):
Has been out the window.
Speaker 14 (28:44):
I don't think, I don't think I live in Mid America,
but the State University here's in the Mid America Conference.
Speaker 8 (28:51):
So uh yeah that was that was really ugly.
Speaker 14 (28:55):
They're really really bad. I mean, and I I turn
on the game thinking, like, you know, because I've have
friends that went to you, Matt, so like I started
turned on the game like all right, like I'm going
to come out of this with some material to just
shove in their face, you know what I mean. And
you know, but I thought, like going in, I'm like
in order to Illinois is generally like really really like
(29:17):
I mean, historically it's been like a really good NAC team,
right like over the last twenty twenty five years. Yeah,
it's pretty good, all right, Like so they're getting you know,
they're getting the crap beating out of them by a
good MAC team. Then I look down on the score
bug and look at look at the record, and this
is a pretty down year for North Airlina. Yeah, so
(29:39):
so yeah all the way around. I mean, I thought
there was like some unintentional comedy in the game. It
was that was something else. But yeah, I didn't expect.
I didn't expect to get like, you know, shots fire
back on the on the maction. But but there, right there,
I was in the ring on a Monday night.
Speaker 4 (29:56):
Not much on the home field advantage front either, right.
Speaker 14 (30:00):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, I was. Yeah, so again, like
I didn't expect to be fighting one of those battles
on a Wednesday night, but there I was.
Speaker 6 (30:09):
Alber Breer with us here on Fox Sports Radio, senior
NFL reporter, lead content strategist at the MMQB. How's this
whole thing with aj Brown going to play out? Because
it just feels like, look, if you look at the offense,
and we were talking about it earlier, Saquon Barkley is
having a way down year. Everybody's having a down year,
yet he's the only one that's complaining again like he
was last year.
Speaker 14 (30:30):
Yeah, I think this is sort of like what you
get at that position sometimes is And look, I do
have some sympathy for it, because it's like he is
a hyper competitive guy and like and I think you
even see this with quarterbacks times too, Like Brady was
this way at the end of New England. You can't
expect a guy to be like uber competitive when it
(30:53):
comes to team accomplishment and then not be as competitive
about his own personal performance. Right, So the fact that
the guy, the fact that the guy is like upset
that he's not you know, he's not able to put
up the same sort of numbers that he's used to,
or the offense isn't performing at the level he's become
accustomed to. Like I do, I don't think that's the
(31:16):
worst thing in the world.
Speaker 8 (31:18):
I think the problem is that like.
Speaker 14 (31:20):
It keeps happening when they're winning, and it was happening
even last year when they were pursuing and winning a
Super Bowl, you know. And so it's just one of
the things you have to consider, where's your breaking point
and when does it become When does it get to
the point where the where the problems that weigh the talent,
and I'm not sure that we're there yet, And they
(31:41):
didn't ever consider trading him in season because the spot
they're in to go and pursue a championship now, another
championship now. But I certainly think it becomes a discussion
point in the off season.
Speaker 8 (31:53):
And the interesting thing about these.
Speaker 14 (31:55):
Sorts of things is obviously all the other teams, the
thirty one other teams see this, Well, there's another team
that wants them like the Eagles don't need to shop
them like that. That team's going to make that phone call,
you know, when you get to when you get to
February and March.
Speaker 8 (32:08):
So I certainly think that, you know, if they don't win.
Speaker 14 (32:12):
Another championship, this is something we'll be revisiting in the
off season and we'll see what happens.
Speaker 5 (32:19):
Albert Ken are the Colts for real?
Speaker 3 (32:24):
I know that that's probably cliche at this point or redundant,
whatever it may be.
Speaker 5 (32:29):
But they have the Chiefs coming up.
Speaker 3 (32:31):
I know you've written about or someone wrote about the
Chiefs still being the best team in the AFC. The
Colts get an opportunity to lock horns with them. How
much does this provide to the conversation of is this
is this for real what we're seeing in Indy?
Speaker 14 (32:51):
Yeah, I think, you know, I like, I like, I
do think like Indianapolis has got a pretty complete roster.
Is like, you know, don't look at anything as like yeah,
like that's that's.
Speaker 8 (33:03):
Something that's going to sink them when you gets.
Speaker 14 (33:05):
To January, like in any in any one area. The
one thing where I think they've shown some cracks the
last couple of weeks against Pittsburgh and then against Atlanta
is like when the game.
Speaker 8 (33:18):
Isn't played on their terms.
Speaker 14 (33:19):
They can struggle a little bit. And to their credit,
like I think against Atlanta they were able to reel
it back in and really kind of load back up
behind Jonathan Taylor.
Speaker 8 (33:30):
But I think what you see is, you.
Speaker 14 (33:34):
Know, when they're not controlling the pace of the game
or when they have to play from behind, the offensive
line just doesn't look the same. And that's I mean,
it was It's been a little shocking to see it
the last couple of weeks, the way that the way
that that that that Jones has been hit, the way
he's been sacked by both Pittsburgh and Atlanta, and then
(33:54):
it just wasn't happening that way earlier in the year,
and that offensive line was such a strength, you know.
I think it's sort of indicative too of like.
Speaker 8 (34:02):
What happens again when you're when you're able to control the.
Speaker 14 (34:05):
Game with Jonathan Taylor and you're never in second and
fifteen and you're never in you know, third and nine.
It's a completely different thing, you know, than than when
all of a sudden you are in those situations with
your offensive line. So that would be the one area
I would look at as like, okay, like is there
an offensive line issue? And I certainly when it comes
(34:27):
think when it comes time to play the Chiefs, like
the Chiefs are going to.
Speaker 8 (34:30):
Be able to challenge them in that.
Speaker 14 (34:32):
Area because of what they bring to the table with
Chris Jones and George Carloft's and all the schematic stuff
that Ti Segnal is able to do.
Speaker 1 (34:43):
Albert, I want to talk to you about just the
Bill's offense.
Speaker 4 (34:48):
I've struggled.
Speaker 1 (34:49):
We saw an article early this week where someone throughout
the idea or I guess the question is Sean McDermott
about Brian Dable after getting fired immediately joined the Bill staff,
which seems of a little bit ridiculous. I don't even
know if that's ever happened quite like that before. I
just take us through kind of I don't know, maybe
the pressure on Joe Brady and then is that Has
(35:10):
that ever happened before as a head coach ever gotten
fired and immediately joined another team.
Speaker 8 (35:15):
Yeah, it happened last year.
Speaker 14 (35:17):
Robert Sala went to lafloor staff and.
Speaker 4 (35:20):
Immediately after the next one.
Speaker 8 (35:23):
It was very soon.
Speaker 14 (35:24):
Yeah, I don't know if it was immediate, but it was.
I don't think it was immediate. I think it was
a few weeks. But like that wasn't like I mean,
that can be awkward, you know what I mean. Like
in last year, the Packers had a first year defensive coordinator.
So what Lafleur did with Sala.
Speaker 8 (35:40):
Was he took him and he put him on the offensive.
Speaker 14 (35:42):
Staff and he said, okay, like here is a guy
who can see things, you know, through a defensive lens.
That can help you guys, just you know, as far
as like trouble shooting, different things and all of that,
which I you're seeing more and more of that now
across the NFL, where more guys are in those sorts
of roles. It would be I think a little unusual
(36:03):
when you've gotten offensive coordinator who now has his experience
as Joe Brady is if like, oh yeah, like we're
going to come in and bring in this guy to
give you a hand, you know what I mean? Like,
I I'm not sure how that would work exactly, but.
Speaker 8 (36:19):
You know, I think the interesting thing.
Speaker 14 (36:21):
About it is, you know, to me, Brady, is how
weak tweak these things become too. You know, like where
the Bills had really built some momentum, like they came
out of their by they absolutely annihilated.
Speaker 8 (36:33):
The Panthers, and then they come back.
Speaker 14 (36:35):
And they beat the Chiefs right in week nine, and
now all of a sudden, the ship's righted and then
they just have like this weird, like almost like puke
all over your shoes game against the Dolphins, and we're
talking big picture problems again. So I you know, I
don't know, I'd like to see like like like another
week at least of them looking that way before I
(36:57):
start like sounding the alarm. You know, I think you're
entitled to a bad week like that happens in the NFL,
and I wasn't expecting it to happen in that fashion,
but you know, like I think, you know Josh Allen
and that offense had looked pretty good the two weeks
prior to what happened in Miami.
Speaker 6 (37:16):
Is there any long term concern about the Packers and
sort of how they've looked. I know, it's just been
a couple of years since, but it feels like maybe
people are starting to question Matt Lafleur a little bit
more publicly, like what do.
Speaker 5 (37:33):
You make of all that?
Speaker 2 (37:34):
Well?
Speaker 14 (37:34):
I think I think there are a couple of reasons
why why that's happened. Number one, they didn't extend him,
you know, in the off season. I think he has
two years left on his deal. And there was a
transition of power in Green Bay. And for those who
don't know, the team president in Green Bay is is
he's not the owner, but he almost has the power
of being the owner. Right So Mark Murphy had been
(37:57):
there forever he had hired the floor at policy became
the president there at the end of July. And I
think anytime there's that sort of transition of power, you know,
there are gonna be some questions, okay, like does the
new boss want to bring in his own guys? So
that's a natural question, then they don't extend them, and
you know, then they go all in on this current group.
Now they've already paid Jordan Love, of course, but then
(38:19):
they they make the move for Michael Parsons, which really
is implicitly saying like we believe like we're in a
championship window right now, and you know, so that puts
pressure on everybody.
Speaker 8 (38:31):
And when you have a night like they had the.
Speaker 14 (38:33):
Other night, where the defense looks just.
Speaker 8 (38:35):
Fine, like the investment in Parsons look.
Speaker 14 (38:37):
Face working out, and you know the offense can't get
out of its own way with your fifty five million
dollar quarterback, then you know the questions are going to
be answered on the coaching staff, especially.
Speaker 8 (38:49):
When the head coaches on the offensive side of the ball.
Speaker 14 (38:52):
Now, I still think they're behind that, and I think
they'll be they'll be okay, but they have been very
scattershot on the on offense over the course of this year,
and they've struggled to find consistency. I think one thing
that hurt them the other night Tucker Craft had kind
of grown into becoming a focal point for them offensively.
He's obviously down for the year now, and the offensive line,
(39:15):
you know, had I think had some real issues dealing
with the Eagles front. Which you know, if you have
that sort of issue with that sort of front, you're
going to see more of those in the playoffs. And
so could that be a long term concern, you know,
just as far as where they go when we get
to January, it could be, which you know, again, like
if they're wanting done in the playoffs, you'll probably hear
(39:35):
more of these big picture questions.
Speaker 6 (39:38):
All right, ab moment of truth, Yeah, true, Yeah, here
we go. It's a big one. Yeah, Ohio State UCLA, Oh,
go to the shoe.
Speaker 4 (39:49):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (39:49):
And do you believe that at the end of that
big matchup this Saturday night, that Ohio State will have
won the game by more than thirty two and a
half points?
Speaker 14 (40:00):
It's thirty two and a half.
Speaker 5 (40:02):
That's a line.
Speaker 14 (40:03):
That is a big line. Oh see, I'm thinking something
like thirty eight to seven. The last time Nico was
there is helmet got split in half.
Speaker 5 (40:13):
He played alright in that game?
Speaker 14 (40:16):
Oh what Nico? Oh yeah, he was fine in that game.
He was fine. I mean, it's not like they kicked
him out. They wanted him back, right, Like, yeah, I
would say cudde I had Purdue covering last week.
Speaker 8 (40:29):
No, I didn't.
Speaker 14 (40:30):
I think I'd messed this up a couple of weeks
in a row, so I would say, take Ucla in
the points.
Speaker 6 (40:37):
Wow, okay, yeah, I just think.
Speaker 4 (40:40):
Were saying Albert no last week.
Speaker 14 (40:42):
No last week.
Speaker 8 (40:43):
So last week. What screwed me up last week.
Speaker 14 (40:46):
Was like our coaches legitimately treated that like a scrimmage.
That's a Purdue team. By the way, it took Michigan
into deep water. But that's neither here.
Speaker 5 (40:53):
Oh okay, but Purdue, like.
Speaker 8 (40:57):
There were there were some There were some interesting.
Speaker 14 (40:59):
Substitution patterns that perdue game if you really watch it,
like it was legitimately being treated like a scrimmage. And
I'm a little afraid of that happening again. If I'm
betting on this, you know what, screw it. I'll take
the buck eyes.
Speaker 8 (41:12):
Yeah there, screw it.
Speaker 14 (41:16):
Screw it. I'll take the buck Eyes to cover where
it's Big doing at this weekend, Brady.
Speaker 4 (41:20):
We're covering your arch nemesis. We'll be at Wrigley for
uh nice.
Speaker 14 (41:25):
Nice.
Speaker 8 (41:26):
I actually thought I actually thought.
Speaker 14 (41:27):
About going last year. I don't know how that is
for a football game.
Speaker 8 (41:30):
They do, They still have to go.
Speaker 14 (41:32):
In only one direction? Is that still the way it is?
Speaker 5 (41:34):
I don't know. That's a good question.
Speaker 1 (41:36):
I actually had the same question and that has not
been answered yet. So I'm pretty sure that it was
a few years ago, right, like, yeah, they.
Speaker 4 (41:43):
Can figure it a way of doing it now where
I believe they go both directions.
Speaker 1 (41:47):
So okay, unless that, unless I'm wrong in assuming that,
I'll be updated here shortly.
Speaker 5 (41:52):
There you go.
Speaker 14 (41:52):
We'll keep me posted on that.
Speaker 4 (41:55):
Yeah, I'm sure you're really curious what the Michigan does
this week.
Speaker 6 (41:58):
Albert, we appreciate it as always. Get him on x
at Albert Prier. He is the senior NFL reporter lead
content strategist at the m MPB at a Thursday tradition.
Speaker 5 (42:08):
Here on the show.
Speaker 6 (42:09):
Thanks Aby, all right, thanks, Yeah, that was I remember that.
And they didn't even think that through when they put
the first game in Wrigley, Like, hey, you know, there's
not enough room here because the stadium's not big, and
so they had to just go in one direction. For
an actual football game, like an actual regular season.
Speaker 5 (42:28):
Game, they had to go in one direction.
Speaker 6 (42:30):
So pretty old school, but I think they've gotten that.
Speaker 5 (42:32):
All thing out there dang dang, dang tang what a place.
I'm jealous tank.
Speaker 6 (42:39):
By the way, we are brought to you by the

Speaker 5 (42:51):

Speaker 6 (42:53):
Coming up next year? Was he the dang counter hopefully
caught up?
Speaker 4 (43:01):
Tang damn?
Speaker 6 (43:06):
Coming up next here we are going to tell you
how how things were supposed to change in one division
in the NFL, but apparently they're just gonna continue on
staying the same.
Speaker 5 (43:17):
That'll be yours here on FSR.
Speaker 3 (43:19):
You want to know what doesn't change that amazingness of
a football? Win that food When you put a little
bit of that og original louis again a hot sauce
on it.
Speaker 5 (43:31):
Who hit your taste buds with fire.
Speaker 3 (43:35):
Because there's nothing like bringing the heat from that original
Louisiana hot sauce. The peppery peppers, the vinegar and the salt.
The humanity of Louisiana flavor masters who have been blending
perfectly for almost one hundred years. It'll turn every good
(43:56):
meal into a great mill, and every great mill into
a on your plate in your mouth. WHOA, that's right.
Wings not jos Burgers, don't matter. You hit it with
that original Louisiana hot sauce and it is unbeatable.
Speaker 5 (44:16):
That's right.
Speaker 3 (44:17):
And listen, your team didn't do well while you was
tailgate and eat your good food. Don't worry about it
poor that Louisiana hot sauce on it anyway, because well
it e's the pain, that's right. And listen, you want
to enjoy your food on a whole different level like
I do. Just jump into some original Louisiana hot sauce
(44:39):
that's Louisiana hot.
Speaker 5 (44:40):
Make sure you buy.

last week of the week before, how I took you
to the Rainbow Bar and Grill where all the uh
the old hair metal bands used to hang out on
the Sunset strip by the Whiskey in the Rock.
Speaker 4 (45:18):
Yeah, that was quite the crowd we were around there.
Speaker 6 (45:24):
Depressing.
Speaker 1 (45:25):
Depressing, pressing is one way of describing it.
Speaker 6 (45:30):
Yeah, it's uh, you know, it's an odd place, but
it is. Brady Quinn, Jonas Knox with you here. No
LeVar Arrington. Uh he is still walking by foot back
from State College. He should be here sometime tomorrow. Uh,
So hopefully we'll be able to catch up with Sticks now.
Speaker 4 (45:44):
I thought he got gout again based on his.
Speaker 1 (45:46):
Uh, his time and Happy Valley.
Speaker 5 (45:50):
It is possible. Anything is possible.
Speaker 4 (45:52):
Uh.
Speaker 6 (45:52):

(46:15):
is petros Papadakis, the co host of the Petros and
Money Show, which you can hear on the blowtorch Am
five seventy LA Sports Fox College football analyst and you
get him on ex at the old p Petros.
Speaker 16 (46:26):
Good morning, good morning, Hello, Good morning Brady. Why what
happened to Lar? He went to state college and they
lost and he never came back.
Speaker 1 (46:38):
He's back on the Oregon Trail again, trying to make
his way back to the West coast.
Speaker 4 (46:41):
Yes, your cousin dies of dysentery.
Speaker 1 (46:44):
Yes, dysenteria was always an issue that if you didn't
ration your portions. Ty, yep, then there's that damn river
at the end. Hey pee, did you guys get a proclamation?
You're first ever from the city of Soritos?
Speaker 5 (46:59):
Is that true?
Speaker 4 (47:00):
I think so. Yeah. We've done a lot.
Speaker 16 (47:03):
Of local politician stuff because we do these shows at
BJ's that they sell and I guess they'll never stop
selling them, and they do it every fall, and we
do like six events at BJ's and they're very different
from the summer tour stuff we do, which are more like,
(47:23):
I don't know, they have a different vibe. So it's
hard to make like a bjs, which are literally exactly
the same anywhere you go around the country, pretty much
in different strip malls, like that one Hawaiian University that
beat Boise State and basketball the other night, and Hawaii
(47:44):
Pacific University, I believe Home of the Sharks, which is
literally a strip mall. So to make those unique and
to try to make it a little different every time,
we try to go super celebratory, hyper look local with
these places and celebrate the local politics and talk about
(48:07):
their problems, whether it's like trash pickup or street vendors.
Speaker 4 (48:12):
I love a good trash pickup talk man. Anything to
make it hyper local.
Speaker 16 (48:17):
And Ciritos, we made friends with the city councilman and
now is the mayor, and he made us a proclamation.
We also celebrated a lot of great things in Cerritos,
like Pat Nixon's statue, Richard Nixon's wife the first Lady
and she was second lady as well, the titanium library
(48:39):
that they have in Cerritos, or the mass amount of
Filipino DJs. Oh but either way, yeah, it was not
a propilation. It sounds like, you know, techno music with
a Filipino vibe. Stein's yeah, with tagala and all that.
So that was yes, that was the proclamation thing that
(49:01):
you saw on Instagram.
Speaker 6 (49:03):
I believe yes, it's like it's you know, when I
think Crito's, I was thinking Filipino DJs as well too.
Speaker 4 (49:10):
There's a lot of Filipino DJ troops.
Speaker 6 (49:14):
Now, do you have a go to item at BJ's
when you go there? Are you like the pazuki or
do you?
Speaker 1 (49:18):
No?
Speaker 4 (49:18):
I don't there that much.
Speaker 16 (49:22):
I think it's great, but we've done shows there for
years and years and years, so I stopped eating at
some point.
Speaker 4 (49:30):
But the food is delicious, don't get me wrong. I
just stopped. It's hard to eat and do a show,
you know.
Speaker 6 (49:36):
Now, do you feel any sort of shame?
Speaker 4 (49:38):
Yes, all the time? Twenty four to seven. Do you
feel it Catholic not Catholic? Do you feel it Orthox Brady?
Speaker 6 (49:48):
Come on, okay, sorry, the shame is just do.
Speaker 4 (49:51):
You need to explain this? We didn't have many of
your types in Notre Dame. Well no, I mean you
might have.
Speaker 16 (49:59):
Orthopic Orthodoxy is not very different from Catholicism. However, there
was a split in the church when the church basically
began the Greek Orthodoxy or Orthodox Christianity is the original Christianity,
because if you read the New Testament, everything that's not
the Gospel is basically a letter to a Greek town.
(50:21):
Corinthians is Corinth, Ephesians is Ephesus, Thessalonians is thessalonikiaso on
and on. From there, you would have your original Pope
of the Rome, which is Peter who went to Italy.
And then you'd have the original pope or leader of
the Eastern Church, which would be Paul, who's not an
(50:45):
original twelve disciple but wrote a great deal of the
New Testament. He was in Constantinople, which is modern day Istanbuls.
Speaker 4 (50:54):
So your people of.
Speaker 16 (50:56):
Eastern Europe, and then all the way down even to Ethiopia, UH.
In Africa are Orthodox Serbia, Russia, Armenians, Greeks uh. And
then on the other side is Catholicism. But Orthodoxy, like
we are, never had a Reformation, so we didn't have
(51:19):
a bunch of offshoot churches like Protestants and you know,
Lutherans and and all that. So anyway, Greek Orthodox there's
still a great deal of deal, but not as much.
Speaker 6 (51:31):
Well, I was just wondering, you know, how much sin
should be attached to you based on the fact that
you know your program wants to be as misleading as
they are in dress up players. Actually, I mean it's
it's just someone call it the Trojan Horse fake. It's disgusting,
disgusting behavior.
Speaker 16 (51:52):
It was actually the Greeks who did the Trojan Horse to.
Speaker 1 (51:57):
This is why, this is why I'm putting on you. You're
a former Trojan and your Greek Yeah.
Speaker 16 (52:02):
Which is a real oxymoron, because Troy was what in
modern day if it existed, and I think it did,
is would be modern.
Speaker 4 (52:12):
Day Evanston, Illinois close Asia Minor. And so this.
Speaker 5 (52:20):
Is parallel to this play that we're talking about.
Speaker 16 (52:23):
Well, I mean, I guess the Greeks and all different
Greeks from different Greek city states, they were the ones
who were were fighting in Troy and couldn't get through
the walls. They're the ones that fake the surrender, moved
the boats around the corner.
Speaker 1 (52:40):
Yeah, I saw the movie with Brad Pitt. Yeah, I know,
you can't take it all seriously.
Speaker 16 (52:48):
That trus reading the Iliad is actually an important thing
that everybody should do. But either way, yes, we put
Dean Blandino on the show on Monday to have him
tell everybody, like I didn't want to sit there and
write a thing and tell everybody this was illegal, right
and if it wasn't illegal, it was super bush and
(53:12):
here's how I feel blah blah blah blah. Then I'd
have every USC, just like Perreira and Blandino, have every
USC quote unquote expert getting after me and all the
social media ruining my day, even when I got a
written proclamation from Cerritos. So we just put Dean Blandino
(53:33):
on and got him to tell everybody that it was
illegal and then just put it to bed. And Dean
Blandino was able to do.
Speaker 1 (53:41):
That, So we had Dean on Tuesday too. He doubled
down on that. Here's what I don't get about that. Petrosays,
why do college football fans because it's not just specific
to SC but why did college football fans have the
hardest time dealing.
Speaker 5 (53:58):
With the truth.
Speaker 16 (54:01):
I mean, I guess because it's such a it's such
a disjointed sport in a great way. In a lot
of ways, we love the chaos of it. We often
talk about that. But I guess it's such a disjointed
sport that you can sort of have what the kids
these days say, you know, I'm gonna speak my truth.
Speaker 4 (54:24):
Yeah, okay, your truth.
Speaker 16 (54:26):
It's like, well, there's not really your truth, or I mean,
there's just the truth. It doesn't the truth is not
specific to any individual, but I guess it gives people.
There's such tribalism involved that it gives people an opportunity
to defend each other and be totally wrong.
Speaker 4 (54:46):
From what I understand from some inside sources.
Speaker 16 (54:50):
USC had this play dialed up for the Michigan game,
which would have been hilarious if they did it against Michigan.
You imagine those people getting all upset about the cheating.
Speaker 4 (55:00):
And I mean.
Speaker 16 (55:03):
There's good deception in football, like jumping up and acting
like the snap was over your head when it was
really to the personal protector and it's a fake punt.
And then there's this kind of deception with rosters and
kicking shoes and a different jersey. And that's a former
five star quarterback, sam Hewart. I remember when he was
(55:23):
at U dub and he was the next Messiah.
Speaker 4 (55:27):
He was a five star.
Speaker 16 (55:30):
Quarterback who won a bunch of state championships, whose family
is synonymous with Washington football greatness, and he washed out
at Washington. He wasn't good enough. He was just not
that guy as far as his arm talent and all
that goes. So I guess he went to cal Poly
(55:51):
with his high school coach who was the offensive coordinator,
and then he got fired, so he left there. And
now his uncle is the offensive coordinator who doesn't call
plays for Lincoln Riley at USC, and that's how he
landed there. But he's a former five star recruit and
now I mean a five star quarterback, and now he's
(56:12):
sitting there as a third or four string guy at
USC elaborately trying to figure out if you're going to
run a fake punt.
Speaker 4 (56:20):
So I guess.
Speaker 16 (56:22):
I guess the play was going to go by the
wayside if they didn't end up running it, because they
had it dialed up for weeks earlier and they decided
to unveil it against Northwestern.
Speaker 5 (56:34):
It was going to expire.
Speaker 4 (56:35):
We going to use it.
Speaker 16 (56:36):
I guess, Like I get that way sometimes with stories
on the radio. You know, you do something, you write
something up that's sort of evergreen, and you forget to
get to it, forget to get to it. Then you're like,
I'm either going to do this today or we're gonna
scrap it. So maybe that's what happened with the Heward play,
but overall it, I mean, it's just it's bush league
(57:01):
and there's a lot of different ways to deceive in
a football game. That seems I mean, it just seems
kind of bush. I remember years ago, and Lincoln Riley's
explanation was a lot like Pete Carroll. I remember in
two thousand and nine it was USC versus UCLA rivalry
(57:23):
game I was calling, and Pete Carroll took a knee
because they're winning and the game was going to end,
and Rick Neuheisel called a time out. So the next play,
Pete Carroll got under center and they threw it sixty
yards downfield with Matt Barkley and scored another touchdown. Oh yeah,
and then UCLA got all mad, and you know, everybody
(57:45):
came out to the hash marks and started yelling at
each other. And Pete Carroll's explanation was, well, you know,
we had a good look, we thought.
Speaker 4 (57:53):
We could execute it. We executed at a high level.
Speaker 16 (57:56):
And that's basically, you know exactly what Lincoln, you know,
with a lot less Chris, that's what Lincoln Riley said
after after the game on their Coaches Show or whatever.
Speaker 4 (58:06):
But I mean, I'm doing have you heard then issue?
I know, but I think it's I thought it was
bush Ley. Have you heard the rumors that he's snooping
around yes, for like other openings. Yes.
Speaker 16 (58:16):
And then I heard that from a lot of different
people and a lot of different factions. So whenever there's
talk like that, it means the agents are running around
and chirping. So basically it means it's c AA that
agency is running around in chirp, chirp, chirp.
Speaker 1 (58:32):
What do you make of that, though, Because if you
wanted to be in the SEC, could have stayed at
Oklahoma and have gone or he could have went to LSU.
He had that opportunity, and then you know, and he
ends up at SC and it's like it feels like
he would be better suited staying there then moving to
another SEC school, unless I'm maybe you see that different.
Speaker 4 (58:56):
I don't know.
Speaker 16 (58:57):
I mean, I know, I know about Lincoln Riley in
Los Angeles. I mean, he actually lives in the town
that I live in, So his kids go to school
with a bunch of people that I know, friends and neighbors. Well,
I don't we don't speak much, but I would say
that he has done very little to endear himself to
(59:21):
the community and open up to people and do any
kind of outreach which would improve his status exponentially amongst
money people at USC and influential people at USC. If
I had to guess, because you never really know somebody's
(59:41):
heart or mind, I don't think he's comfortable here. I mean,
maybe his family likes it, maybe he likes this town,
but he's not comfortable. It's not a great intellectual fit.
He's not really. I mean they've had to for they've
had to force his hand to recruit locally, which is
(01:00:04):
really the only true key to success generationally at USC.
They've had to force his hand with the GM position
being legitimate and all kinds of different stuff.
Speaker 4 (01:00:15):
So I don't think.
Speaker 16 (01:00:18):
I just don't think he's dynamic enough for the area,
and it's probably more comfortable at a Texas or an Arkansas,
you know, a place someplace like that. That would be
my guess as to why that they're snooping around or
rumors that are spreading. You know, people also like to
stay in front of the wagon train because it's not.
(01:00:39):
I mean, they're having a good year, but they could
lose to Iowa and lose to Oregon and it's over,
and those very feasible things that could happen. They could
even lose to UCLA. So even though they're having a
good year right now, it couldn't. It might not last.
So that would be my guess. But I I don't know,
(01:01:01):
But it's not exactly like he's I mean you're around Brady.
Are usc people uber and pressed with Lincoln Riley or
clamoring or begging for him to stay even if he
was considering leaving. Probably not so.
Speaker 14 (01:01:16):
Uh.
Speaker 16 (01:01:17):
He hasn't done much to make himself unexpendable, so to speak,
like Pete Carroll did, where everybody's like, what are we
going to do without Pete? You know, he crippled us
with sanctions. I don't think that there's much there's a
lot of fervor to keep Lincoln Riley if he was
considering leaving, it.
Speaker 6 (01:01:38):
Like it feels like his stock is way down in
comparison to when he first got here.
Speaker 16 (01:01:42):
Well, yeah, he got here and they brought Caleb Williams
and they won a bunch of games. They couldn't they
almost made that fourteen playoff but lost to Utah twice.
And after that, Lincoln Riley said to everybody, this is
as bad as we're ever going to be. It's going
to be it's going to be off and running from here.
And then they ended up losing to Willie Fritz's two
(01:02:04):
lane team and the Cotton Bowl, And honestly, that was
the best UCLA has been in the Lincoln Riley era.
Maybe they're better this year, but that last that first
year with Caleb Williams when he won the Heisman, was
the best he ever had here at USC And those
were all Clay Helton's guys mostly as far as just
(01:02:27):
the structure of the team other than Caleb. And what
is Addison the receiver that they put Carson Palmer's retired
number on for like six.
Speaker 4 (01:02:36):
Games, probably never paid as much as they told him
they were going to.
Speaker 16 (01:02:39):
But yeah, you heard that rumor, huh that was around
that That was actually one of the worst Kevin rumors,
was how unhappy he was with not getting paid what
he was told he'd be paid.
Speaker 4 (01:02:51):
So, yeah, welcome to La. Well, Chad Boonen's there now,
so that'll happen often.
Speaker 16 (01:02:56):
Oh damn, I saw his dad in a Valure sweatsuit
at the World Series A whole bunch. That's your bote.
But he also has two toned hair. But either way, yes,
whatever the question was, the answer is yes.
Speaker 6 (01:03:16):
Yeah, his stock is down. Now where's your How do
you feel about the UCLA leaving the Rose Bowl to
go to Sofi Stadium?
Speaker 16 (01:03:27):
Story, dumbest story in the dumbest idea in the world.
It's a corporate thing, and I guess they're deal with
the Rose bowls really bad and they get no concessions
and all this. So even if they have to pay
the Rose Bowl off or go to court, I guess
they're still going to be in the black if they
move and they get a better piece of parking and
(01:03:49):
concessions and this or that. But UCLA's biggest problem is
that they don't have anything close enough to where the
kids can get drunk and walk over. And look, we've
seen I've talked about this a whole bunch.
Speaker 4 (01:04:05):
We've seen.
Speaker 16 (01:04:05):
I know Houston's having some attendance problems, but when they
left the Astrodome, which they were being swallowed up by,
they started to have a lot more success as a program.
Now they're in the Big twelve and having a great
year and two lane, same thing. Once they left Lake
poncha train and got out of the Superdome and building
(01:04:26):
on campus stadium again, their program thrived and is thriving,
and UCF I was just there. I just did the
space game, which I've never done anything. Like what do
you think? I was dumbfounded, Brady. I've never seen anything.
And I've played a lot of places and called a
lot of games and a lot of places, and I understand,
(01:04:48):
you know, wideouts and blackouts and announced us the grove
and all these different things. I'd never ever seen anything
like the UCF Space Game. It was like a theme
game for college football, with different uniforms, a whole different format,
a different mascot, the Citronaut, which was their original mascot.
Speaker 4 (01:05:11):
I didn't know.
Speaker 16 (01:05:11):
It was originally opened as a feeder school to the
Kennedy Space Center, and it was absolutely everybody was dressed
like Bubba Fett or an alien or a spaceman.
Speaker 4 (01:05:25):
Everybody had the space gear.
Speaker 16 (01:05:27):
They had a different uniform with glowing the dark numbers
that celebrated hyperspace research.
Speaker 4 (01:05:35):
It was absolutely a spectacle.
Speaker 5 (01:05:39):
Just imagine if the moon landing was real.
Speaker 16 (01:05:41):
But it was exactly You should have seen the moon
that night over Orlando.
Speaker 4 (01:05:46):
It really was.
Speaker 16 (01:05:47):
I've never experienced anything like that in college football or
calling a college football game. You got to give UCF
a ton of credit for creating that whole thing, because
because it is magic, it really was. But anyway, UCF,
who used to play in the Camping World Stadium or
the Citrus Bowl, they moved and obviously it's been great
(01:06:11):
for their program as well. UCLA should have a thirty
five thousand person on campus stadium. They actually have one there,
it's called Drake Stadium that they could build out and
make cool for the kids. Why don't they, Well a
(01:06:32):
lot of reasons. Number one, everything in La sucks. Number two,
everything in West La sucks a thousand times more. And
you would have the Hoa in the sixties. I think
the Hoas and everything above UCLA on Sunset Boulevard, which
(01:06:56):
is bel Air, would fight at tooth and nail for
parking and this and that. But you could probably figure
out like a Hollywood Bowl. I mean, they have poly Pavilion,
which is about half the size of a thirty five
thousand person stadium, or maybe a little less than that,
and you should be able to figure out parking with
(01:07:19):
like a Hollywood Bowl style shuttle system or I'm not sure,
but there's too much red tape. And I mean at
UCLA you have to get seven signatures just to get
a new pencil sharpener. Anybody who wants to fire an
assistant coach or do something like that, it takes months
because it ends up in the grinding bureaucracy of the
(01:07:40):
UC system and an on campus stadium. We just look,
they said they were going to build a train here
in southern California for like a billion dollars twenty years ago,
and I think they built.
Speaker 4 (01:07:54):
Like seven yards of track and it's cost.
Speaker 16 (01:07:57):
A billion dollars some stupid thing like that. And the
train is like, you know, doesn't even get a first down.
It's like seven yards. And so basically we're too stupid
to figure anything out like that, like they can figure
out in New Orleans or Houston or Orlando.
Speaker 4 (01:08:16):
And that's why they don't have it.
Speaker 16 (01:08:18):
And you know, the thing is, UCLA should play at
the Rose Bowl, but they shouldn't play all their games
at the Rose Bowl. They should have an on campus
stadium where you play New Mexico or Northwestern or whoever's
in town. And then when you play Ohio State or
these Big ten teams that have huge fan bases and
(01:08:39):
people want to come out to the Rose Bowl and
be there because it's a beautiful setting for college football
as we all know. Then you play Ohio State, Penn State,
Michigan whatever at the Rose Bowl two or three times
a year.
Speaker 4 (01:08:52):
USC if you have them on the on the even years.
Speaker 16 (01:08:57):
They should play there, but they're everybody's too stupid to
figure that out.
Speaker 4 (01:09:02):
This is a corporate move.
Speaker 16 (01:09:03):
And yes, is SOFI Stadium closer than the Rose Bowl
to UCLA, Yes, theoretically it is. But at the same
time you're talking about going the opposite direction in one
of the worst stretches of freeway in the world, the
four h five between Inglewood and Westwood, and the parking
(01:09:25):
is like one hundred bucks seventy five bucks for pro football.
You have to be in a special tailgate lot that
cost over one hundred dollars to park.
Speaker 4 (01:09:35):
The kids aren't going to go there either, So.
Speaker 16 (01:09:38):
It's it's it doesn't It seems like causing solving a
problem with another problem. They should have an on campus stadium,
but there's too much red tape and too much bureaucracy
to get that to happen.
Speaker 4 (01:09:52):
Petro's what does the Rose Bowl host then?
Speaker 1 (01:09:55):
Outside of the Rose Bowl if U Stilly is not
hosting their home games there.
Speaker 16 (01:10:00):
Well, they have a flea market, an antique flea market
that's pretty big.
Speaker 4 (01:10:05):
They'll do concerts. Is that it like a monthly thing?
Speaker 14 (01:10:09):
No?
Speaker 4 (01:10:10):
Maybe, you know that's a good question.
Speaker 16 (01:10:12):
I mean the soccer, you know, international soccer, big, big
soccer matches, if like you know, real Madrid comes out here.
Speaker 4 (01:10:22):
Stuff to say from an annual revenue respective, I don't.
Speaker 16 (01:10:26):
I don't know what's going on in the historic Arroyo Sikle,
but I don't. I don't for their deal with UCLA.
I mean, how big could that be? It's six games
or whatever.
Speaker 1 (01:10:38):
But I well, again there's not much attendance and whatnot,
so maybe.
Speaker 4 (01:10:42):
Well they're having trouble. Yeah, there's no doubt.
Speaker 16 (01:10:44):
I mean, Jim Mora was the last coach and maybe
it was just about bring it back.
Speaker 4 (01:10:49):
He was he's done, great, he's done. Yeah he has.
Speaker 16 (01:10:54):
He was really kind of the last coach to put
sixty thousand or fifty thousand people, which is much less
than holds, but fifty sixty thousand people there consistently. That
was Jim Mora and ever since then it's it's been
a real struggle to get anybody in there unless they're
playing USC or or some they just haven't been good.
Speaker 5 (01:11:15):
It's pretty disrespectful.
Speaker 6 (01:11:17):
You skip over the drone art show that's going to
be there this weekend at the road.
Speaker 4 (01:11:20):
Okay, well there you go.
Speaker 5 (01:11:21):
There's some Yeah.
Speaker 4 (01:11:23):
Check the schedule that Jonas like he just did.
Speaker 6 (01:11:25):
Yeah, the Turkey trot as well too. Petros quickly, do
you have a Are you calling a game this weekend?
Speaker 4 (01:11:33):
Yeah? Yeah, I'm going to Fresno.
Speaker 16 (01:11:35):
Oh yeah, versus Wyoming.
Speaker 4 (01:11:38):
Get that tri tip, homie.
Speaker 16 (01:11:40):
Yeah, everybody talks about the try tip. I don't want
to wait in line for a sandwich.
Speaker 4 (01:11:44):
Though, I'll send a BA that's a clat would do.
Speaker 5 (01:11:52):
What tell me I'm wrong?
Speaker 16 (01:11:55):
I can't. I can't tell you you're wrong. I remember
doing a game with Joel, smoke a cigarette before the
game and said the PA for.
Speaker 4 (01:12:02):
It all mad. Now you're gonna ruin his imit by
the way.
Speaker 1 (01:12:06):
I asked him that, and you threw me under the
bus completely. So I just want you to know what
do you mean. I'm not going into it on the air.
I'm just saying there was a lot.
Speaker 5 (01:12:16):
No, I didn't.
Speaker 16 (01:12:17):
You just brought up the whole thing. You brought up, Joel,
and then he brought up that's pretty Jonas. You got
to back me up there. He brought all of that up,
he did, and then he goes it I'll say it.
Then I'll say it. No, no, no, no, please okay.
But I just I remember doing a game with Joel
(01:12:38):
at Baylor. It was a big game. It was Baylor Oklahoma,
and and it was like two hours before the game, right,
and we're in the concourse parliaments.
Speaker 5 (01:12:54):
Uh.
Speaker 16 (01:12:54):
We weren't smoking at that point, but I remember saying, Joel, stop,
I want to buy a T shirt. It was like
two hours before the game, and he's like, I can't wait.
Speaker 4 (01:13:05):
He went up into the booth.
Speaker 16 (01:13:07):
He couldn't wait for me, and I got into the
booth like thirty seconds after him, and.
Speaker 4 (01:13:11):
I was like, all right, I'm sorry. That would give
me nervous. It would give him so much more street
cred if people knew about ribbon darts.
Speaker 16 (01:13:20):
But all right, Petro, Joel used to be a lot
more nervous before the games.
Speaker 4 (01:13:24):
Let's just put it like I think has loosened them up?
Speaker 5 (01:13:28):
Is loosening them up?
Speaker 4 (01:13:29):
Well, you know that's a vape pin.
Speaker 6 (01:13:31):
That's a different Oh good Petro. Some money shows where
you can hear Petros alongside Matt.
Speaker 4 (01:13:38):
Joel's ever vaped on one of those robot ds.

Fox Sports Radio, LeVar Arrington, Brady Quinn, Jonas Knox with
you here coming up top of next hour a little
over ten minutes from now, we're going to have a
conversation about and I think we're actually going to get
to it this time, a fight in the NFL. We're
(01:15:59):
going to have that conversation coming up here again a
little over ten minutes from now, before we get to
this appeal hearing, I want to let you know this
show sponsored by DraftKings sportsbook and official sports betting partner
of the NFL and NBA, and right now, use the
promo code two pros to claim your special offer at
DraftKings against that promo code two pros. At DraftKings, the
crown is yours.
Speaker 5 (01:16:19):
All right.
Speaker 6 (01:16:20):
So we got to get to the bottom of this.
Speaker 5 (01:16:24):
Because oh wow, oh oh no, not law and order.
Speaker 6 (01:16:32):
There's been some fines handed out on this show, and
I'd like to defend myself here. Okay, according to the
fine system, Brady is at ten dollars because he said
who cares about Michael Parson's crotch?
Speaker 4 (01:16:50):
Just for the.
Speaker 1 (01:16:50):
Record, since you're already off base here, I never said
who cares. I just chose not to participate in the
crotch talk, which was then uh jotted down as a
ten dollars fine for a silent who cares?
Speaker 6 (01:17:06):
And the finable offenses on this show are when you
are dismissive about a topic and say who cares?
Speaker 5 (01:17:12):
When I'm passive.
Speaker 1 (01:17:14):
There's a number of them which you have fallen under.
So you're probably not the best person to do this,
but for me it's who cares. For LeVar, it's specifically
reminiscing about his pass what's called hold on, hold on,
hold on.
Speaker 4 (01:17:30):
It could be about the past too.
Speaker 3 (01:17:36):
I'm not going with this because I was not made
clear of that I was.
Speaker 5 (01:17:39):
There's also at.
Speaker 1 (01:17:42):
That that applies to everyone, and that is in the
event that you're talking about yourself in a very favorable manner.
Speaker 4 (01:17:49):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (01:17:50):
Jonas is passive aggressive, so we've also put him in
that category. But there's also a sensitive or weeny category
as well, which applies to every everyone. However, Jonas has
been already been fined for that so far.
Speaker 5 (01:18:03):
All right, So that's that's where we'll pick up here,
all right.
Speaker 6 (01:18:06):
So I am willing to accept because as it stands
right now, I'm getting fined thirty dollars, right, which is
and fifty pays Yeah for my friends listening down south,
five hundred and fifty pay sos and one of these
is legitimate, all right. I was being passive aggressive with
sarcasm about something. I'm willing to pay up the ten dollars,
(01:18:28):
no problem whatsoever. The weenie via the Albert Breer interview,
that's crap.
Speaker 5 (01:18:35):
It was all the way, No, it wasn't.
Speaker 6 (01:18:37):
You guys were rude in the interview and jumped me
multiple times to ask questions. And so since you were
doing such a tremendous job at it and grooving the
conversation towards you, figure, I took a step back. I said,
you know what, I'll take a step back here.
Speaker 5 (01:18:54):
You guys got to be ten dollars. That's not ten
dollars aggressive right now. No, I'm being a bit of aggressive.
Speaker 4 (01:19:00):
Up jack jack silence, silence in the court.
Speaker 5 (01:19:07):
Badgering the witness.
Speaker 4 (01:19:09):
I will hold you in contempt, Errington.
Speaker 5 (01:19:11):
Release are the badgers?
Speaker 4 (01:19:13):
Listen, dag He is being aggressive. There's no passive about this.
He's taken up.
Speaker 5 (01:19:18):
A segment to defend his case.
Speaker 4 (01:19:20):
Now, Jonas, please continue.
Speaker 6 (01:19:23):
The other is kissing Dean Blandino's ass.
Speaker 5 (01:19:27):
Okay.
Speaker 6 (01:19:27):
First of all, all the way, LeVar says to Dean Blandino,
a guest, Hey, Dean, your comedy career was going so
poorly that you decided to get into NFL officiating. And
so I know that probably didn't land right with Blandino.
And so as we ended the interview, I said, hey,
you know, for what it's worth, Dean, I think you're funny.
And I got pop ten dollars for that, for being
(01:19:48):
a good person.
Speaker 1 (01:19:50):
Yes, that's to let the record reflect. Mister Knox has
made an appeal on his case. However, all appeals have
been denied. All this is you will pay me thirty
dollars in Santa Clara.
Speaker 4 (01:20:04):
That will not be enough for never.
Speaker 5 (01:20:05):
You guys can eat a d This is you will
pay Jonas Knock
