(01:41):
Monday night. Football struck again last night.

Speaker 4 (01:44):
Yeah that's how you felt.

Speaker 1 (01:45):
Yep, let me love me some DBA.

Speaker 5 (01:49):
You know where there ain't no double braid double Brady's
double barrels.

Speaker 1 (01:53):
Where's that double barrel action?

Speaker 5 (01:56):
No double barrels in South Florida though, I'm just saying
double barrels there, you know.

Speaker 1 (02:02):
Oh, come on saying they got no amm Yeah, I mean.

Speaker 4 (02:06):
They got AMMO, they got no firepower.

Speaker 2 (02:10):
I mean, Tyler Huntley is on a difficult spot. You know,
he's in a pretty difficult spot. He just got there
like an hour and a half ago, and you know,
now there's you know, people wondering whether or not you know,
the Dolphins players are just going to bail on the
season in general, and you know, just not not a
great look. But the Tennessee Titans are on the board

(02:32):
first one of the season, Mason Rudolph and relief, and
so if you're a Tennessee Titan fan, you gotta feel
good about that.

Speaker 6 (02:38):
If you're listening very Nashural, you know, I was thinking, though,
you know how people are like, oh, you know, Tyler
Huntley is starting. I was like, who's the backup? I mean,
you think they're bad off if if Tyler Huntley is starting,
he gets hurt, Like Tim Boyle's their backup.

Speaker 4 (02:55):
I'm glad you brought that up.

Speaker 6 (02:57):
Because you know, you look at Huntley and like, you know,
how's he asked to play. He's probably asked also to
not get hurt because he's the guy that's been getting
all the reps to prepare for this game. You know,
Tim Boyle probably hasn't gotten almost anything. I mean, think
about how dire of a situation that is if you're Miami.

Speaker 5 (03:14):
I mean, I mean, I ain't wanted to encourage getting hurt,
but I certainly am not one to encourage looking that
poorly when you're.

Speaker 4 (03:24):
Out there on the field either.

Speaker 5 (03:26):
I mean if you got to risk it, go ahead
and risk it, because that's what you're putting on film.
You know, I don't know what comes next for you. You're
getting an opportunity to start in the National Football League,
don't I don't know what what's left, you know.

Speaker 4 (03:44):
I looked at it like this, I thought.

Speaker 5 (03:45):
The first thing I thought about because I think about
you guys when I watch these games, right the first
thing I thought about. It's kind of weird, but I
do because obviously, you know, Q's gonna come with his commentary,
and you know he's already said things. You come with
your commentary, You've already said a thing. So I think
about the things that you've said in the past, and
I compare to the things I see right now so
that I can conversate for the future, you know, because

(04:07):
Q loves to jump on you when you say something
that he doesn't like. So so first thing I thought
was Q said, you're gonna find out how good or
how much to him meant to this team now that
he's not in, And I was like, God, dang, he's right.

Speaker 4 (04:26):
These boys suck.

Speaker 1 (04:27):
Why can't I think of a song that would be
appropriate for this moment?

Speaker 4 (04:30):
You know they stink.

Speaker 1 (04:32):
Man, don't know what you got until it's gone.

Speaker 5 (04:34):
Yeah, they stink without him. So then I started so much,
but I know I love you. Hey, that looked just
like Mike McDaniel's look on the sideline last night when
he was looking at how that thing was, that monstrosity
was unfolding in front of him. So now I'll start
thinking to myself, why does he look so like.

Speaker 1 (04:57):
Blank?

Speaker 5 (04:58):
Like his face was just blank, And all I could
think about was he just kept thinking about Tua being
on the sideline and look.

Speaker 4 (05:06):
Turn it on up. You could turn it on up.

Speaker 2 (05:07):
I mean, there's a reason the guy got paid, and
there's there's a reason why he got paid. There's a
reason why they've been a playoff team.

Speaker 5 (05:14):
There was a reason why they made the playoffs. He's
actually pretty good. And you know what, we didn't know much,
but we now know it was Tua and that is
why to what can't retire? Man, we're talking about we're
talking about concussions.

Speaker 1 (05:35):
He too, I'm sorry, Hey, here's an advil.

Speaker 3 (05:37):
I need you, buddy.

Speaker 4 (05:39):
Sorry, I'm sorry to him.

Speaker 5 (05:41):
You know, all I know is listen, they looking at
me like I could be a possible Coach of the
Year contender. They're looking at our team as one of
the hottest teams could possibly win our division. Finally, and
foremost were attacking old ass coaches that then then that
you wasn't much of anything from before. I'm gonna stick

(06:03):
up for you. You stuck up for yourself. Everybody's feeling good.
The police then grabbed up on Tarik Hill. They felt
a certain type of way. There was just all kinds
of stuff circulating and flowing around about the Miami Dolphins.
They was creating a buzz, and the buzz is gone. Yeah,
And I feel like, is this more of how good

(06:26):
toa is as a player or is this more of
an indictment on your coaching staff and having the next
guy ready to go, the next guy up, ready to
go and prepare it and ready to go. Which, like
that was my final question that instead of me answering,
I felt like the perfect approach to this would be

(06:47):
to pose that as a question.

Speaker 1 (06:51):
It's a good question, I think, Oh man, yeah. The
way I'd answer this is the NFL has lessened.

Speaker 6 (07:05):
I think the impact of an importance of a backup quarterback.
Now in this case, Skylar Thompson got hurt, so kind
of is what it is. But even then, you know,
teams because they're investing so much into their starter and
they're not investing, you know, into a guy behind him either,
because they're I don't know, if they're worried about maybe

(07:27):
there'd be an issue in the quarterback room if the
guy's got some experience, or he's done something before, whatever
the case may be. I just think you've got to
have a quarterback room that's good enough to be able
to withstand the punishment from an NFL season through seventeen
games with a younger generation.

Speaker 1 (07:47):
Of quarterbacks that are going to get hurt, they're going
to get hurt.

Speaker 6 (07:52):
They don't play the game the way the older generations
used to from the pocket.

Speaker 1 (07:58):
There's just it's a different game.

Speaker 6 (08:01):
And because of that, they've got to figure out a
way of circumventing like these issues throughout the season. Because
to your point about the team and whether or not
they're willing, they're gonna, you know, quit, and Jonas kind
of had brought that up. I think it's too early
for that to happen, but you know, there's there's not
a lot of time left they start continuing down this path.

(08:24):
It's I mean, statistically speaking, it would be really difficult
for them to be able to come back and be
a playoff team. And that is a tough reality of
face so early on into the season. So you're one
in three and like, what two it can't come back to.

Speaker 1 (08:39):
A week seven? Is that right?

Speaker 4 (08:41):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (08:42):
But they had two more games without them, yep, one
in five been there.

Speaker 6 (08:47):
On a team like guys will hang around a little
bit before Pro Bowl once those things are announced, maybe
they out like it is, they're done, like they don't
want any part of it.

Speaker 1 (08:58):
That's the tough part about this.

Speaker 6 (09:00):
You know, it becomes a very individual game where guys
are focused on Pro Bowl individual accolades, stats, bonuses, and
once those things are reached or once it looks out
of you know, out of hand, out of touch, it's.

Speaker 1 (09:13):
A different story.

Speaker 6 (09:14):
But I mean, look at the other side, Tennessee Titans
have to have Mason Rudolph comes in, and Mason Rudoff
played pretty well in replaced of Will Levis, Yes he did,
But like that, I mean we're talking about, you know,
just one of these games last night where that was
that was the issue because you've got injuries with those
quarterbacks and we talked about Anthony Richardson and Joe Flacca

(09:35):
coming in. I mean, you can go across the league
right now, look at and say there's guys who are
getting banged up left and right. You better have a
backup that can come in they win you some football
games that I think that's more of the state of
the NFL right now, unless you've got a stud a
starter who knows how to play.

Speaker 1 (09:49):
The game from the pocket.

Speaker 2 (09:51):
So we've seen Kevin O'Connell has taken multiple quarterbacks and
they've played good football with him.

Speaker 1 (09:57):
Kyle shanahan obviously.

Speaker 2 (09:59):
Has had multip court of it like isn't so if
Mike McDaniel's part of that is his off how much
different And this is a nerdy football question, but how
much different is his offense? And how much more difficult
is it to learn or grasp that they're struggling to
find somebody behind toa to play well.

Speaker 6 (10:18):
It's not that they're struggling to find someone to play well.
It's it's maybe who they have behind them. I mean,
Skylar Thompson had a good preseason two years ago. This
this past one wasn't great. I mean, there's writing on
the wall, and in regards to that specific you know
person taken over, I was a bit surprised that him
brings someone else in to bring in some competition. So
it's to me, it's more surprising that he's the backup

(10:41):
that they've got, whereas there's other like Ryan Tannehill would
have made a lot of sense, would have made a
lot of sense.

Speaker 5 (10:48):
Still don't know why at this point, Still don't know why,
with the injury, with the injuries that he's sustained in
terms of to and knowing that he's a concussion away
from in the exact situation they're in right now, you
don't go into the season not knowing this. You can't
be oblivious to the fact that too is one hit
away from you needing another guy to go in. Why

(11:10):
would you not have a starter level backup on your roster?
Why would you not have that? That was like I'm
sitting there asking myself, You're we were joking about It's like,
oh snoop da da da, Hey, he's going to start this,
that and the other. What does that look like if
you're not confident enough and what it is that you
have schematically to bring in a guy off the street

(11:32):
and put him into your offense and still have a
good game. Because of the type of talent that you
have all over the field, then why do you not
already have that contingency plan and play.

Speaker 4 (11:44):
That's what's confusing to me.

Speaker 5 (11:46):
Like we could have this conversation about some other teams,
right and say, okay, well this team, you know, Green
Bay or Pittsburgh or the Jets or whatever it may be.
We could have this conversation and part of you is
kind of like, well, you know, the guy they have
starting is the guy they have starting, or they have
a quarterbacks you know, kind of a deal. They're fighting

(12:08):
it out to get the position, whatever it may be.
If I am the Miami Dolphins, the first thing I
think about is who is my backup quarterback? Who's my
backup quarterback? And that should always be my question as
long as Tua is starting. No shade to Tua, just
being realistic that my guy is the guy that runs
our offense, he runs our team. We want his confidence

(12:30):
level up. That's great. I can't I can't. I can
only stress to Tua if I'm the coach that listen,
I know that we have a backup that was a
starter in this league. I know that we had a
backup that is talented enough could possibly challenge you for
what it is that you.

Speaker 4 (12:48):
Guys have going on. But the bottom line to me.

Speaker 5 (12:50):
Is is that when you look at what it is
that's taking place with Tua right now, how do you
not have a backup that is the equivalent of a
starter backing him up. It's got to be the biggest
question that that was not answered in terms of coming
into this season with with two Ways your starter.

Speaker 2 (13:12):
Remember when we first started doing the show and you
did a really really good Mike McDaniel impression, like you.

Speaker 1 (13:18):
And then all of a sudden he became he changed.

Speaker 5 (13:20):
Now he's like, yeah, he's like, uh, what's a dude's
name from Miami Vice. Crockett. He's Crockett now he was
he used to be Mike mcdan. Now he's like he's
like Crockett. You know, Crockett and Tubs. That's who they were,
right and I believe So, Yeah, you never watched it
really too young?

Speaker 1 (13:40):
No, not really, not my thing.

Speaker 4 (13:41):
Miami Vice.

Speaker 5 (13:42):
You know that was Don don uh Don Johnson. Yeah,
he's like Bridges Don Johnson. Yeah, he's like Crockett Now,
same guy. Yeah, the same guy. He was in Tin
Cup too, right, I think it was the Yeah Cup?
What tin Cup you talking about?

Speaker 4 (14:00):
Off movie? It's actually pretty saw a different movie called
tin Cup.

Speaker 1 (14:04):
I believe you're thinking of two cups?

Speaker 4 (14:07):
Oh that is it? Huh yeah, you went right forward too,
didn't you. I'm proud, are you? Brady? Everybody?

Speaker 5 (14:15):
Hey, man, look just when they be thinking Brady Quinton, No,
Brady Quinn is q A thinking.

Speaker 6 (14:22):
Of injuries not to move past last night's games. But
they weren't overly competitive. McCaffrey's got double tendon night.

Speaker 4 (14:30):
Is about to blow both his legs out. Man.

Speaker 6 (14:34):
I was just thinking too, like what activities could be given?
I mean obviously running, sprinting, jump like all those things.
I mean I'm just saying, like I could give you
a squat.

Speaker 4 (14:45):
Excessive squatting.

Speaker 1 (14:47):
I mean, do you want me to look into it?
I could see, yeah, I mean, just should take a
deep dive into this.

Speaker 5 (14:53):
Excessive fun way to sloo holding.

Speaker 4 (15:00):
Foot anchoring, people carrying a wheelbarrow, will barrowing.

Speaker 5 (15:06):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, let's see. Uh yeah, there's a lot
you know, the military has, you know, exercises that you
do like that. No man left behind type deal where
you got to you got to get him up out
of their not even no matter what, you know, that's
for sure.

Speaker 2 (15:26):
I hear you, man, Well, I mean, you know, he
goes over to Germany, he gets that you know, uh,
that platelet you know, enrichment plasma crap whatever they do
where they're spinning stuff and getting your blood all reworked.
And apparently doctor David Chow says he's got to go
over there to get that done because it's not legal

(15:47):
in the US.

Speaker 4 (15:47):
I wonder why.

Speaker 1 (15:50):
In Canada then, I don't know. I mean, let's have
it north of the border. We can't get them to
do some illegal stuff like that, you know, they you know,
they could do it out.

Speaker 5 (16:00):
Yeah, there's a lot of things are going to push
back on apparently. But shouts out to my nephew too.
By the way, I like, I like your new ball,
my gee, I like Yehall you like that. Oh yeah,
but you guys were busting my balls about not going
to Penn State practice. I wanted to go get it.
I could have got you a real ball from practice.

(16:22):
But that's fine. Yeah, you did it the way you
wanted to do it.

Speaker 4 (16:25):
It's all right. Yeah.

Speaker 5 (16:26):
So but I could have got you a real football
from the football team. I try and get him for
my nephew at every place I go to. I did
think it was really cool. Y'all came in with Stick
City gear though. I thought that was really cool.

Speaker 2 (16:39):
Yeah, I mean we haggled about the prices at the
place we bought them, but you know, I think, I.

Speaker 4 (16:43):
Mean, my my my stuff is competitively priced. It is
there you go some of the other stuff there, Yeah, man,
not so much all right?

Speaker 1 (16:52):
Making money man homecoming weekend.

Speaker 2 (16:55):
You gotta make your cash apparently, but Stick City Gear
was appropriately priced, comfortable.

Speaker 4 (17:00):
Well made.

Speaker 1 (17:01):
So yeah, it was a good dog.

Speaker 2 (17:04):
Did manage, by the way, to uh spill ketch up
off his hot dog onto the white sweater no Stick
City sweater.

Speaker 7 (17:10):
Yep, I did definitely did that. Very upset at myself,
I'm sorry.

Speaker 6 (17:17):
Sloppier than someone's spilling on a sweatshirt eating a hot dog.

Speaker 1 (17:21):
I think that's a pretty sloppy thing to do.

Speaker 2 (17:24):
Yeah, because it's poor planning. It's like you didn't put
the right amount on the hot dog, and then you
couldn't keep it together as you got towards the end
with tailgate.

Speaker 4 (17:32):
You did that at the tailgate.

Speaker 1 (17:33):
Oh yeah, there's just.

Speaker 6 (17:35):
This, like there's no less appetizing, I don't know, attractive
thing to do and eating a hot.

Speaker 1 (17:42):
Dog and spilling something on yourself.

Speaker 4 (17:45):
Yeah dog.

Speaker 7 (17:47):
Yeah it was great hot dog. But you know we
were we were swarmed. The people wanted to say, hey,
so it's y'all. Yeah, it was very I was distracted.
I get a bite every time. Who wanted to say
it took me an hour to eat a hot dog?

Speaker 1 (18:01):
Dude? Yeah? Lee, who was trying to say, hey, tonybuddy.

Speaker 4 (18:04):
Lee is pretty pretty popular man. A lot of people
bring up Lee to lap.

Speaker 5 (18:08):
I don't know, I don't know who was doing it,
but somebody who was doing it.

Speaker 4 (18:12):
Yeah, Brian, we got Blanco got oh you're going there?

Speaker 5 (18:18):
I mean that is true. They might have been understand
that that's a name, that's a name. Blanco is a name,
so said, yeah, I call him blancs a billion.

Speaker 2 (18:31):
Yeah, but uh, good people, and uh now Lee's got
to figure out how to get that.

Speaker 4 (18:35):
And you know, you got your meat wagon.

Speaker 5 (18:36):
I got my blank, my Blanco tequila.

Speaker 7 (18:40):
What was upsetting was that it was from the like
the inside pocket of the hoodie, like the pouch like.

Speaker 4 (18:47):
Took it out like it's spread. I don't get it.

Speaker 7 (18:50):
I know, it's hard to explain. So I had to
pack it in my Oh you had a packet in
my pocket. That's very greedy.

Speaker 1 (18:56):
Why did you keep a ketchup packet in a white shirt?

Speaker 4 (18:59):
That's very you know.

Speaker 7 (19:00):
I don't know exactly how it did, but that's where
it started, and then it spread from there.

Speaker 1 (19:05):
I don't know if it was like a napkin or something.

Speaker 4 (19:07):
I don't know how it happened. Man, what is an
oil spill.

Speaker 1 (19:09):
It's a catch.

Speaker 4 (19:10):
It gets everywhere. White was a bad choice.

Speaker 7 (19:12):
I should have done with the blue No, don't you
and ketchup choice.

Speaker 4 (19:16):
The fine was a white out energy gang. I was really.

Speaker 7 (19:20):
Hungry, Okay, that's fair. And to ketch him, you know
you ketchups are the worst. They squeek, you know, they
shoot out what mustard must mustard's allowed to free.

Speaker 2 (19:33):
By the way, the words white was a bad choice,
not the first time you said that.

Speaker 1 (19:37):
Lay, I'll just say that.

Speaker 4 (19:39):
White was a bad choice for racist.

Speaker 1 (19:43):
Well, listen, it is two pros and a cup of joe.

Speaker 2 (19:45):
Here on Fox Sports Radio, LeVar Arrington, Brady Quinn, Jonas
knocks with you. We are gonna have the usuals coming up.
Later on, we're gonna have another edition of In Case
you missed it. Pete Prisco is gonna stop by. That'll
be a fun conversation because we're going to ask him
to be rutally honest about the performance of Will Levis
injury or not thus far, because that's his guy, So
he'll stop by. An hour three of the program, We're

(20:06):
going to close up shop with Lee's leftovers, and it's
the return of the BQ Top fifteen. It's all yours
here as we take you all the way up until
nine am Eastern time, six o'clock Pacific. But coming up
next here, somebody in the NFL was dealing dealing, and
apparently people on their own team had no idea. You'll

(20:27):
hear why next here on FSR.

Speaker 8 (20:30):
Be sure to catch live editions of Two Pros and
a Cup of Joe with Brady Quinn, LeVar Errington, and
Jonas Knox weekdays at six am Eastern three am Pacific
on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app No.

Speaker 5 (20:44):
No.

Speaker 2 (20:48):
Two Pros and a Cup of Joe. Fox Sports Radio,
LeVar Arrington, Brady Quinn, Jonas Knox with you here. We
are going to get into this discussion about somebody was
so good that the people around Adam didn't even realize it.
In the NFL. That'll be yours here in just a
couple of moments from now. But first, for all the
latest from around the world of sports, we turn it
over to Eddie Garcia.

Speaker 9 (21:09):
All right, thank you, Jonas. We start with Week four
in the NFL, concluding with a Monday night football double header.
We'll start in Detroit, where the Lions outscored the Seahawks
for a forty two to twenty nine win. Detroit quarterback
Jared Goff was eighteen of eighteen passing two hundred ninety
two yards and three touchdowns, two passing, one receiving on
a trick play. Seattle quarterback Gino Smith had three hundred
and ninety five yards passing and a losing effort one touchdown.

(21:30):
Kenneth Walker, the third for Seattle, had three rushing scores,
but not enough. Seattle suffers his first loss in the season.
Both teams now three to one overall. In Miami, the
Titans beat the Dolphins thirty one to twelve. Tennessee lost
starting quarterback Will Levis in the first quarter with the
shoulder in Juram Mason Rudolph replaced him, but it was
Tennessee running the ball forty times for one hundred and
forty two yards and two scores. That was the difference.

(21:51):
Tomimy started Tyler Huntley at quarterback. He had ninety six
total passing yards with a rushing score. Tennessee gets its
first win. Both teams are now one and three NFL
News fort Nineers running back Ristan maccaffery has been dealing
with my lateral achilles tendonitis, meaning he has tendonitis in
both legs. Chiefs wide receiver Rushi Rice still undergoing test,
no further details on how long he's going to be out,

(22:12):
and Colts quarterback Anthony richardson day to day with OAP
league and abdominal strains. A baseball a doubleheader to and
the regular season, a makeup of a couple of raindown
games between the Braves and the Mets.

Speaker 1 (22:23):
New York gets an eight.

Speaker 9 (22:25):
To seven win the first game of the doubleheader that
clinched a playoff spot for the Mets. The Braves had
to win the second game to get in. They do
three nothing as the final, so both the Mets and
the Braves are in the wild Card, while Arizona gets
left on the outside looking in. So your wildcard matchup
set for later today. In the nationalag you've got the
Brewers hosting the Mets and the Braves at the Padres,

(22:45):
and the American League Astros hosts the Tigers and the
Royals are at the Orioles. Speaking of baseball, all time
hit King Pete Rose passes away at the age of
eighty three, finished with two hundred and fifty six career hits,
also the most games played in baseball history, seven time
All Star MVP and a three time World Series champ.
And in basketball Hall of Famer de Kenby Mtumbo passed
away at the age of fifty eight after dealing with

(23:08):
a brain tumor, four time Defensive Player of the Year and.

Speaker 4 (23:11):
An eight time All Star. Great job, Eddie, thank you. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (23:14):
Now back to lavri Ord.

Speaker 9 (23:15):
Brady quint Jonas knockson tyrack dot Com, Fox Sports Radio Studios.

Speaker 4 (23:19):
That didn't seem too hard, too complicated, did it?

Speaker 5 (23:22):
I just don't get it, man, I'm just being honest,
Like I'm watching the games last night, They're doing all
of this breaking news and all this stuff talking about
Pete Rose, Pete Rose, Pete Rose, Pete Rose. I was like, wait,
maybe it's like a joke or something, a hoax. You
know they do these fake like you know, this person
passed away type deal all the time. I was like,
why are they not mentioning the passing of to kenbab Mtumbo.

(23:44):
They didn't mention it. I don't think they mentioned it
one time during either one of the broadcasts. I didn't
see it, not the halftime, not the opening of the show,
none of it was just it was just Pete Rose.
I just thought it was interesting and I was just
happy that that, you know what, that two of our
sports stars that have passed away on the same day, coincidentally,

(24:06):
that Eddie Garcia actually mentioned both of those two sports stars.

Speaker 2 (24:10):
I heard the Kemba mentioned in other places, yeah, and
other places.

Speaker 5 (24:14):
I mean, I was just I'm I was mentioning, like
the game did I did say the game? And I
mean I heard other places. Yeah, sure, I saw in
other places. That's how I knew.

Speaker 6 (24:23):
Yeah, I don't know about that. I saw the Kemba
mentioned pretty much everywhere else. I think maybe because it
felt like the Pete Rose happened later in the day.
So maybe that was more of the breaking news in
that regard.

Speaker 5 (24:35):
Maybe, I mean, maybe that's it. Maybe that I didn't
want to turn it into a thing at all. I
didn't want to turn it into Leave that to other people,
one of the people who will turn it into it. Yeah,
because I'll say this, if it were the opposite way,
I would be saying the same exact thing. Just so

(24:56):
we're clear, Joanah's not what his opposite if it was
ro was that was not mentioned and that we're only
mentioned it the Kimbay Mutumbo.

Speaker 6 (25:03):
It's all right, somehow Kitler Clark singer blame. That's someone's
gonna blame.

Speaker 4 (25:11):
You know what. You got a point there. That's a good.

Speaker 1 (25:14):
Angel Reese will somehow pop up in this conversation. I
don't know how, but.

Speaker 4 (25:18):
That's a good point.

Speaker 5 (25:19):
I mean, that wasn't the angle I was taking. I
was just saying, that's one like I was trying to understand,
like is he not like from my recollection, it's it's
like Alonzo Mourning and the Kimba Mtumbo. That was a
historical moment and sports history time where it was what
Jonas I mean, you.

Speaker 6 (25:43):
Know, I don't know, I wasn't old enough to really
remember he Rose as a player, but he was one
of those legends, especially growing up in the state of
Ohio in his time with Cincinnati, understanding how good he was,
understanding the type of personality he ad, and obviously the accusations.
You know, I think the saddest thing about the death

(26:04):
of Pete Rose is he deserves to be in the
Hall of Fame.

Speaker 5 (26:07):
More celebrated than what he is. And maybe and you know,
the craziest thing is they say what you're not? You're
not somebody until somebody kills you or to that's like
the saying or whatever, you're not somebody till you die,
Like he'll probably like I've seen more analolysis on him.
I've seen more experts on television breaking down and talking
about Pete Rose and Pete Rose this and now all

(26:29):
of a sudden, like right in this moment in time,
it's okay to say he should be in the Hall
of Fame.

Speaker 6 (26:35):
Right like miss Week with that and some some people
have always said that, yeah, absolutely, and and I would
say this like those two equally, you could make the
case were some of the best ever to do it
at their sport.

Speaker 1 (26:48):
And what they did.

Speaker 6 (26:49):
I mean, ken Bi Matsumbo was one of the first
first rim protectors that I remember, and then he coupled
that one time with a big personality too, you know,
like as far as then the finger and the commercials,
everything else that came along with it. I mean, I
still remember, you know that as a young child thinking
how cool was, how funny he was, but also how
great he was, specifically.

Speaker 1 (27:10):
As a defensive player.

Speaker 6 (27:12):
So and then and I was say, a tremendous story too,
coming from what Congo, I believe.

Speaker 1 (27:18):
And so that's the sad thing.

Speaker 6 (27:19):
Man, like you, you lost two icons in different sports.
But you know, you know it's it's sad. You feel
bad for the family. You feel you know, hopefully to Kembe.
I mean he had you know, was going through brain
cancer and it's a tough diagnosis and tough battle I'm
sure for him and his family, you know.

Speaker 1 (27:36):
For Pete.

Speaker 6 (27:36):
I didn't see all the details, but again it's I
hope he's resting easy just from knowing Pete, having opportunities
to talk to him, hang around him back when we're in.

Speaker 1 (27:46):
The Fox Avocado room. He was one of the sweetest guys.

Speaker 6 (27:49):
Man and he had some of the greatest stories person
ever here, like good person ever here.

Speaker 1 (27:56):
He was an all timer.

Speaker 6 (27:57):
So it was a sad sad for a lot of
people out there who are close to to Pete.

Speaker 5 (28:02):
I wasn't trying to create a controversy, by the way,
I just was just it was just an observation.

Speaker 4 (28:08):
I don't know what.

Speaker 5 (28:11):
I mean, Jonas your tight work, that's all that's but
but to Brady's point, that's I just remember growing up
the Twin Towers was that was like, you know, there
was Patrick Ewing and then there was the Twin Towers.

Speaker 4 (28:29):
You know, you talk.

Speaker 5 (28:30):
About Hoy Hoya basketball, it was coach Thompson, it was
Patrick Ewing, and then came Alonzo and the Kenbay and
and you know, so and so for the rest is history.

Speaker 4 (28:40):
Like they are known for big men.

Speaker 2 (28:42):
But nowadays, you know, and talking about those two guys,
like people go above and beyond and try really too
hard to create moments and you'll see people, you know,
whether it's fake videos on you know, Instagram or you know,
going on TikTok, like all these different moments. Kevin Tumbo
created a moment that I mean that wasn't planned him

(29:05):
you know, them beating as an eight seed, the number
one seed in the playoffs, and then him holding the
ball on the floor against h Yeah, like that's a.

Speaker 1 (29:11):
Moment, cottonment everywhere. That wasn't planned.

Speaker 2 (29:15):
That was just him be him, the finger wag, all
that stuff and then Pete Rose, like just stories you hear.
I remember hearing stories from my dad. You know, my
older brother was a Reds fan. I remember hearing stories
from Andy Furman. It was close to Pete Rose. The slide,
the hustle.

Speaker 5 (29:33):
Run him over, run him over, wouldn't he I'm not
even a big baseball fan, but being from Pittsburgh, you
know exactly who Pete Rose was. You knew exactly what
Pete Rose represented to the sport. Like he was just
one of the most polarizing figures that had been a
part of the game, you know, and that that's like
I want to say, it was dorrit Like for me,

(29:54):
I was into baseball then because Willie Stargell was like
my favorite player growing up, right, I had my favorites
or whatever, but Willie Starves was my dude. And I
believe it was that same era of time that Pete
Rose was in the UH was in baseball or whatever.
But I just remember hearing Pete Rose's name so many,

(30:15):
so many times, and yeah, I just you know, I
thought it was an interesting day. And you know, they
say it comes in threes, so I was curious as
to like, who's the third one?

Speaker 8 (30:23):
Man.

Speaker 5 (30:24):
You know, they say it comes in threes, So I
don't know. I don't know how quickly that one. I mean,
those was on the same day. I don't know, just
thinking to myself, those are two really really gigantic names
in sports, really big names in sports.

Speaker 4 (30:40):
Man.

Speaker 5 (30:41):
Then the next thing you think of, you guys, don't
have to worry about this yet because you're not as
old as me. But then you start thinking, like, am
I next? Maybe I'm the third one. I don't even
I mean, I'm not as big a name as it.
But I'm just saying, like you start thinking to yourself, like, man,
your own mortality starts to come into question. Man, Like
I'm not getting any younger. It's kind of wild. That's
where I'm at in my life. Like, dang, he was

(31:03):
only fifty eight. I ain't got much time left if
that's like, if I'm on that time clock, so let's
have a great show. Today, Let's let's put our best
foot forward because I might not be coming back, you know.

Speaker 2 (31:15):
And listen for those of you out there that want to,
you know, steal the bar's idea and run with it,
You're welcome for the content.

Speaker 1 (31:21):
You know, is the latest controversy.

Speaker 2 (31:23):
That one was talked about more than the other one
because there are going to be some people that are
run with it.

Speaker 4 (31:27):
Do you think?

Speaker 8 (31:28):
So?

Speaker 1 (31:29):
What come on?

Speaker 5 (31:33):
I mean, he did a lot of great that man,
that man to Kembay, did a lot of humanitarian work,
man Ton if you look him up, look him up, man.

Speaker 1 (31:41):
And great stories about him in the bar scene.

Speaker 5 (31:44):
And I know some great stories about him on the
bar scene in Georgetown too as an adult when I
was in the league.

Speaker 2 (31:51):
But we'll leave that rest in peace. Rest of bea
two hall of well. Listen, Pete Ros should be in
the Hall of fame. So I'm gonna call him a
hall of fame. And to ken Mae Matombo, to ken
Baemtombo is a hall of fay. Yes, by the way,
it is two pros and a cup of Joe. Here

sports or entertainment. Good thing, the guys are here to
bring you in case you missed it.

Speaker 1 (33:23):
For that, we turn it over to our executive producer.

Speaker 4 (33:25):
Lee Lap.

Speaker 7 (33:30):
Good morning, everybody, Good morning, Jonas, Good morning, Britty, Good
morning the bar.

Speaker 1 (33:35):
Hey guys, In case.

Speaker 4 (33:36):
You missed this, the Lap, Hey var.

Speaker 7 (33:39):
Hey guys, in case you missed this, Hey Brady, Hey guys,
in case you missed this, Well we miss well. I
think we had talked about it that Jared Goff had
gone to perfect eighteen for eighteen in the game last night,
well before Dan Campbell became aware of that. He had
already given the ball to Jamison Williams. But take a
listen to what he had to say about it.

Speaker 1 (33:58):
After the game. I just somebody else So I feel
awful right now to see Yeah.

Speaker 11 (34:06):
No, I well, I knew he played a heck of
a game. I did not realize he was perfect. I
did not know he was literally eighteen for eighteen. I
mean that. But but I knew he played really well.
You could feel it, and he really found his realm early,
and I thought he was seeing the field played with rhythm.
He had to move a little bit in the pocket.

(34:27):
I thought what really kickstarted him is the you know,
he had to kind of move in the pot, got
spun around and hung with Jamo and hit him on
the hook for the first down. Was big man, because
he was rolling after that.

Speaker 1 (34:38):
Eighteen eighteen did get spun around.

Speaker 4 (34:40):
That's kind of a cool little playmate right there.

Speaker 2 (34:43):
Two touchdown passes. Receiving touchdown as well too. It was
perfect last night.

Speaker 6 (34:49):
It's the most yards for eighteen completions.

Speaker 1 (34:52):
Ever for a hundred percent of police percentage.

Speaker 6 (34:54):
By the way, I'd love to know the stat Has
there ever been a team that went perfect passing the
foot ball with more than just two players throwing or
more than one player throwing.

Speaker 1 (35:06):
Oh it's a good call, yeah, because I'm in Ross
Brown had the touchdown pass.

Speaker 6 (35:10):
I just it's very rare that you'd see, even like
if a backup quarterback comes in, you think he's gona
throw an in the place.

Speaker 5 (35:15):
He caught the ball for the touchdown by the right, Yeah,
which was pretty cool. That linebacker looked like he was
running for his life. I don't understand why he couldn't
ask this question. Yeaheah.

Speaker 1 (35:27):
Do you guys ever think that the Rams think about
like maybe if we would have hung on.

Speaker 6 (35:30):
Jared Goff, it still would have worked out, like we
would have won a super Bowl.

Speaker 5 (35:33):
And he's playing really because somebody's thinking that in that office.
But they do have a super Bowl and that the
Detroit Lions don't yet, So maybe there's not the remorse
might be right now, but in the moment I think
they they got.

Speaker 6 (35:48):
Just watching Jonesis Bears take down the Rams, there are
some throws in that game where I thought, oh, like
we're getting up there.

Speaker 1 (35:58):
Yeah, Mike Crazy doesn't start to look a little older.
He definitely did in that game.

Speaker 2 (36:04):
And I just I mean, you look at the situation
golf's got in Detroit.

Speaker 4 (36:08):
He looks like he's getting better.

Speaker 5 (36:09):
Yeah, Like he looks like he's coming into his own
that's right, very confident. By the way, what are the
odds on golf to win MVP if we're going to
go down that road, Because you're asking the question yesterday,
who's good in the NFL?

Speaker 1 (36:21):
Detroit's good. By the way, we shouldn't discount the fact that,
I mean Gino was slanging it too, Yes he was.

Speaker 5 (36:29):
I wasn't going to say anything because they loved but
he was slinging that feld Broh.

Speaker 6 (36:34):
Dude, he's got I mean I always thought he threw
one of the prettiest balls I'd seen, and a lot
of credit. But they've got some firepower to like. That
was the first loss, rather three one that was.

Speaker 5 (36:46):
Troy Aikman made the point. He was like, man, if
not for golf being perfect, we're talking about Geno.

Speaker 1 (36:55):
The way things are working the NFC West right now.

Speaker 4 (36:58):
Yeah, yeah, what else? We got?

Speaker 7 (37:01):
Lee In the other game of that double barrel action,
A Dolphins fan was going through it at hard Rock
Stadium as he was watching Mason Rudolph beat his Dolphins.
He was with his girlfriend and decided to take a
moment to take to social media to show that Mason
Rudolph had actually jumped in her DMS.

Speaker 1 (37:18):
Saying you're still in Miami.

Speaker 4 (37:20):
Thanks.

Speaker 7 (37:21):
So he was there sitting with her, said you could
have her, Tank, But they did clarify that the message
was from months ago, which actually raises more questions that
he was in Miami DM and her.

Speaker 4 (37:33):
But anyway, Tank, I mean, what.

Speaker 1 (37:36):
Do you mean he was probably out down there working out.

Speaker 4 (37:38):
Or something, saying he just needed a massage.

Speaker 1 (37:40):
Why does that race more questions.

Speaker 7 (37:42):
Right, it means he's he's down there often.

Speaker 5 (37:46):
I mean, I'm just saying, isn't that how the young
kids these days communicate?

Speaker 1 (37:52):
Yeah, through dming like, yeah, at least want the same thing.

Speaker 5 (37:56):
It doesn't have to be a horrible thing that this
man is allegedly in this person's DMS.

Speaker 4 (38:04):
That's all I'm gonna say.

Speaker 5 (38:05):
Sounds like a hating ass fan to me, do better
with your girlfriend, if that's what you're thinking it is. Which,
by the way, Mason Rudolph is a very tall man.

Speaker 1 (38:18):
And it doesn't sound like that guy's giving the good stuff.

Speaker 9 (38:20):
You know.

Speaker 2 (38:20):
Yeah, she kept it around clearly so and let him
see it.

Speaker 6 (38:25):
Yeah, he doesn't have the magic stick dang, definitely explaining it.

Speaker 5 (38:34):
I mean, if that DM was there for that man
to be holding of yes, that's yes, her magic stick YEP.

Speaker 4 (38:44):
I know. If I can once, I can twice.

Speaker 1 (38:49):
No no, no, no no no.

Speaker 4 (38:56):
Yeah, too many windows here, Move on, guys. In case you.

Speaker 7 (39:01):
Missed this, the NFL concluded its investigation of former Jaguars
kicker Brandon mcmanuson determined there was insufficient evidence to support
the finding that a violation of personal conduct policy occurred.
He will not not face any league discipline, and he's
now free to sign with any team.

Speaker 6 (39:17):
You know what stinks about this though, because I know
he's a great dude, and because of the accusations and
all that, he ends up looking like a bad guy
for a period of time. It's very seldom that people
recognize that, oh, yeah, actually nothing was wrong, nothing really happened.

Speaker 5 (39:34):
Yeah they stink, but he's unemployed, right, you know it
would be employee.

Speaker 2 (39:39):
He got the label, and now that gets more of
the coverage than the fact that, you know, there was
nothing to really go with.

Speaker 5 (39:44):
Their guilty to proven innocent. What they say, Yeah, it's
messed up man, Good for you. Good luck to you
though many it's a good kicker too. Hopefully works out
for you. So maybe I'll get another opportunity there. But
good job, Mason Rudolph Man. While you're over there, put
in work, you know, do what you gotta do. Man,

(40:04):
South Beach baby, bad boys. Take that and take that,
Take that, Take that.
