We are off and running here on a Thursday morning,
and we've got more the same. When it comes to
the topic of conversation at hand. We've got Week six
in the NFL kicking off later on tonight.
Speaker 2 (01:57):
Which we will discuss. But we've also.
Speaker 1 (01:59):
Got the app math of a week five firing of
a head coach in the NFL by the name of
Robert Sala and the dysfunctional disaster that is the New
York Jets. Everybody was wanting to hear from Aaron Rodgers
and get his take on just exactly what went down
and what his thoughts were, and so Rogers made an
(02:22):
appearance on the Pat McAfee show starring AJ Hawk yesterday,
and here was some snippets of his conversation with Pat
with AJ about how he felt about the situation and
also the dialogue he may or may not have had
with Woody Johnson.
Speaker 4 (02:41):
Yesterday was a day that reminds you of the simple
fact that all of us who played know all too well,
and that's that it's a tough business. It's a beautiful profession,
it's incredible, it's done so much for our lives, but
it's also a really tough business.
Speaker 5 (02:59):
I love coach.
Speaker 4 (03:01):
He was a big reason why I came to the Jets,
you know. I felt like the team, you know, was
a solid team. Everything that Matt Lafleur said about him,
the few interactions I've had, the times that we went
against him, I just had a lot of respect for him.
As far as any of the ridiculous allegations out there,
I'm not going to spend more than one sentence in
(03:22):
response to it, and that is that I resent any
of those accusations because they're patently fall I did talk
to Woody wouold. He called me on Monday night. We
had a short conversation and he just asked me how
I was doing. You know, obviously I got rolled up
on the game. My ankle got pretty banged up. So
he just called and was asking how I was doing.
Wood he has no obligation to let me know of
(03:42):
what his plans are. Whether or not he knew what
he was doing in that moment is inconsequential. We need
as players to take accountability for what's happened. I think
that's the thing that hits you too in the moment,
is if I'd played better on Sunday, this doesn't happen.
And as somebody who takes a lot of pride in
their performance, that was the main sentiment for me yesterday.
Speaker 1 (04:05):
So there was a little bit of Aaron Rodgers from
the pat back of the show, who once first.
Speaker 2 (04:12):
Oh q cau stab at first, Yeah first, Yeah.
Speaker 6 (04:14):
I mean I felt like he was pretty open. Honest.
I don't think he had anything to do with Woody
Johnson making this decision. It didn't it didn't seem like
that I and I think people oftentimes overstate the power
of a player.
Speaker 5 (04:33):
He acknowledged that he talked a lot about that.
Speaker 6 (04:37):
Obviously, we're just giving you, you know, thirty seconds of soundbites.
If you watch the entire interview, you know, you can
tell he was. It seemed like he was caught off
guard by it too. It seemed like he felt like
he had an adversary there and Robert Slaw, which if
you think about it, you know, there probably was no
one who was a bigger advocate for Rogers being there
(04:59):
than rober at Sala. I mean, I know it's hard
to imagine this, but remember the first year he got there.
I mean, Robert Sawa was a giddy it was almost
like over the top, just so excited about the fact
they had a quarterback, something that hampered him during his
tenure there to that point.
Speaker 5 (05:16):
Then the injury happens, and then.
Speaker 6 (05:19):
They get into this year, and despite everything else that
went on, he still feel like they had a shot
because the quarterback. Now, you know, I don't know if
their relationship took a hit or didn't take a hit.
All I know is it seemed like he was rather sincere.
He talked a lot about Robert as a man, as
a family man, about his family, that people who are
(05:41):
impacted by this so you know, listening to the entire interview,
I didn't come away thinking, you know, and then look,
I think he would have been the type to be
open if he was a part of it, or say
things that you could read between the lines. That wasn't
the case here. And I think when you you know,
just relating to what he said. You know, Ty Willinghams,
(06:02):
who I went to play for in college. I remember
when he got fired after my sophomore year. I felt awful.
I felt like I was, you know, mostly to blame
for it because I'm a quarterback and that's how things work.
And that was one of the toughest times for me
in my life because it was the first time I'd
really been through something like that before, where you know,
(06:23):
you feel accountable or responsible for not playing well enough
to help your coach, help your coaching staff retain their jobs.
And it was tough walking around campus.
Speaker 5 (06:34):
It was tough. You know, would other guys be going
out on weekends and stuff I wasn't.
Speaker 6 (06:39):
I didn't feel like I had earned that right to
be able to go out and have fun and all that.
Speaker 5 (06:43):
Like, I felt like there was.
Speaker 6 (06:44):
Still work to do, and you know, there's a lot
of truth in what he said. You know, if he
played better, if they win that game, this didn't happening.
So it's it's kind of crazy to think that. Like
the impacts of a game in London right, a game
where I feel like most of us they go over there,
they play early. If you're on the West coast, I
don't even know if you see the game because it's
(07:05):
so early on the East coast. Kind of I kind
of love it. It's cool we wake up watching football,
but it feels like it's like a I don't know,
and it's like other destination.
Speaker 5 (07:15):
You don't really care about it as much. Apparently it was.
Speaker 6 (07:18):
That meaningful to Woody Johnson because of his past, you know,
uh ambassadorship to the UK, or because of his you know,
wealthy friends around, whatever the case is. It seemed like
that came the toping of that game and where it
was had more to do it than anything else.
Speaker 7 (07:40):
The fact that it's a conversation point and that he
is either willing to address or is forced to address,
whichever one, whichever side he fell on when he decided
to address it, I think there's that's the start of
you know, the issue of it all is the fact
(08:02):
that he had to come out and speak on it,
which means that it's directly pinpointed on him, fair or
not fair. That's that's the that's the case here. I
think also looking at it, when listening to the way
he's he's kind of discussing it, you know, you just
you just start to wonder, you know, And in the
(08:25):
sense of him having to to address it as as
I mentioned, and and him having to be open about,
you know, his his personal situation with the coach, it
speaks to his level of of relevance.
Speaker 2 (08:44):
For one.
Speaker 7 (08:46):
It also speaks to him making sure that he's trying
to clear himself of any culpability to the scenario directly
being related to him doing it. So it led me
to the next thought, He's right, he doesn't, you know,
Woody Johnson doesn't have to to disclose to him what
(09:07):
he's going to do. I just find it strange. I
find it strange that Woody Johnson would fire him after
five games if Aaron Rodgers indeed loves Robert Salah, because
I don't think that Aaron Rodgers would be the only
one that would come out and say how much he
(09:28):
respects or has love for the man and the coach.
They're doing poorly. They're doing poorly as a team. If
you're doing poorly as a team and Aaron Rodgers is
your quarterback and he's playing, it just makes me wonder,
is it the interactions between him and Rodgers on the field,
(09:50):
is it? Is it his interactions with the media and
how he's responded to things that are taking place that
have become major news headline in sports media. There's a
reason why wood he had this. If we want to
call it knee jerk reaction to what happened when they
went overseas to play, or if we want to call
it something that he's been thinking about he's been teetering on.
(10:14):
I don't know what side of it that Woody Johnson
falls on as to why he made the decision, but
nonetheless he made the decision. And the word that keeps
coming out of Aaron Rodgers' mouth, which I think is
very relevant, is accountability. You know, everybody has to be
accountable for the fact that the Jets are underperforming, and
(10:37):
none more so than the owner of the team to
be more accountable for what it is that's taking place.
So to me, I think the decision does not make
this team a better team unless we're saying that the
decisions that were being discussed by Salah still as the
head coach are maybe the direction you're going in and
(10:59):
trying to figure out a new play caller. I still
don't think in season game five, I just don't think
that that move improves the forecast of this team, like
what he Johnson said and his quotes. So I don't
know if this clears, you know, him going on in media,
Aaron Rodgers going.
Speaker 2 (11:17):
To media, clears him of.
Speaker 7 (11:21):
Being blamed for this, or if that salvages anything that
could have been maybe broken in the locker room.
Speaker 2 (11:28):
I mean, I appreciate it. It did sound candid to me.
Speaker 7 (11:30):
I'll say that I appreciate the fact that he's he's
always talking about what he thinks and he didn't, you know,
shy away from it this time as well. I take
it at face value what he said. I just wonder
if the if the damage, if the collateral damage of
this is already done, even with him providing clarity as
(11:50):
to what his involvement or lack thereof to this scenario,
you know what the impact of that all is.
Speaker 2 (12:01):
And I thought he came off since here as well too.
One of the things that I thought.
Speaker 1 (12:04):
He said later on in the interview that was telling
to me is when he.
Speaker 2 (12:08):
Said, look, regardless of you know, however.
Speaker 1 (12:12):
You know this was handled, there was going to need
to be some changes, And it was almost like an
admission on his part that, yeah, offensively, with Nathaniel Hackett
calling plays, whatever.
Speaker 2 (12:25):
It is, there's going to need to be some changes.
Speaker 1 (12:28):
And the report is that there's going to be changes
that Jeff Olbrick is going to you know, Todd Downing
is going to be the play caller last I had heard,
and that you Nathaniel Hackett will take a step back
and his role in his duty. And I Rogers came
off to me as someone who felt really disappointed that
it didn't work out with Robert Salah, but I think
(12:48):
also professional and weathered enough in the business to realize, man,
this was always the possibility.
Speaker 2 (12:55):
I just wish it went differently. I just wish we
would have played.
Speaker 1 (12:59):
Better, or there would have been a better result, or
I wouldn't have gotten hurt four games into the season,
because to me, and when people try to put together well,
you know, he had a conversation with Woody Johnson and
then afterwards, you know, there was a conversation with Robert
Sala letting people know that Nathaniel Hackett was going to
be out, and then five minutes later he was fired.
(13:20):
Like Rogers even said in the interview, like I was
in the training room getting medical attention, and then all
of a sudden, phones started ringing everywhere, and next thing
you know, Robert Sala is gone. Like I find it
hard to believe that he had a meeting with the
coaches announced that Nathaniel Hackett was going to take a
step back from play calling duties. And then that's what
(13:41):
triggered a five minutes later, Woody Johnson pulling him into
the office and canning him.
Speaker 7 (13:45):
He was already ready to do it, so he was
already walking into it like he's out of here.
Speaker 1 (13:51):
So yeah, I just I looked at it, and I
thought that Rogers sounded like a defeated guy because the
vision that he had just didn't play out the way
he thought it would.
Speaker 6 (14:02):
No, none of it. I mean, let's just rewind back
two years ago in the American Flag running out Week one,
and then he gets hurt four plays into it. I mean,
if you really want to go back if you asked him, hey,
what were your thoughts running out of that tunnel that
at that time, like you're probably envisioning Super Bowl, You're
envisioning you know, MVP whatever else. Right, all this success,
(14:27):
there's an injury. There's not success. You're losing football team
right now, and your coach gets clipped like this has
to your point, Jonas, this couldn't have gone any worse.
Speaker 5 (14:42):
I mean, I guess it could. There's still room.
Speaker 6 (14:45):
But when you really look at it, there is an
element of just kind of like this the reality of
life outside of Green Bay, which for the longest time
he had Mike McCarthy teen years whatever it was, you know,
than now Matt Lafour, who's doing a tremendous job. There
(15:05):
a lot more stability, that kind of stuff. It didn't
really happen to him the same way it's happened to her.
Speaker 5 (15:10):
Injuries happen.
Speaker 2 (15:12):
That's a good point. So on the other side, man, no, and.
Speaker 6 (15:18):
I think I think he's seeing the reality like he
probably watched Tom go to Tampa and thought like, damn.
Speaker 7 (15:23):
You came up with that this morning, bruh, A feeling brighton,
but you had to.
Speaker 2 (15:27):
Thank you, you know what, I'm saying, though not you.
Speaker 6 (15:31):
He watched Todd Dooe thought like, that's gonna be me man,
Like I'm one of the greats. I'm one of the
first ballot Hall of Famers, and it's been anything but that,
And I think I also think the other thing that
I wonder is, have you, guys ever had a conversation
with someone where and then they're in a position of
power and they they literally take your like whatever you
(15:51):
said that, they take something from it, and they had
media apply it moving forward, and you're like, oh, well,
I didn't. I didn't know that was gonna happen, you know,
Like in all seriousness, I wonder if if he said
some stuff to Woody and then what he just acted
out and that's what I was thinking, but like it
wasn't intentionally like it was what he was like, Hey,
(16:13):
what do you think I think that's one.
Speaker 2 (16:17):
It happened.
Speaker 5 (16:17):
He's just like, oh, dang, I didn't. I didn't think
he was, which is in a way, it's almost like
a betrayal of trust.
Speaker 7 (16:23):
He still might not be aware of it, of what
he may have said or done that might have led me.
Speaker 1 (16:29):
To passing to where what he says Hey, you know
you seemed frustrated on the sideline. Well, I just don't
understand what we're doing sometimes, you know, But whatever, we'll
get it together. And he took note of that. I
think that's one hundred percent what it could be. That
would be the most logical reason as to what it
could be. And Rogers probably feels terrible about it too.
Speaker 2 (16:50):
He might not be aware of it, that's the thing.
Speaker 1 (16:53):
He seemed pretty aware of the fact that had they
played better, that's.
Speaker 7 (16:58):
One hundred percent, had they played better. But but then
that doesn't that lead you to the question of why
get rid of the Hey guy? Immediately? He is a
defensive minded coach. Why would you just get rid of
the if you're going to take away the play call,
and why not just get rid of the play caller
and bring in the new play call?
Speaker 6 (17:16):
And the reports that sallow Wooden fire Hacket, but he
was planning on demoting him, so he was going to
bring in Todd.
Speaker 7 (17:24):
Well, then maybe that's the If that's the report, then
maybe that's the reason.
Speaker 2 (17:28):
What do you mean you're not going to fire him?
You guys aren't doing it.
Speaker 5 (17:31):
They're not firing Hacket either way.
Speaker 6 (17:33):
I mean all Brick's gonna denote him to have doubting
call plays. I just wonder, I wonder if there is
an element of again, whatever he said, would he acts
irrational and then now Rogers at a tough spot because yeah,
(17:54):
he's he's probably close with the owner in the sense
of he's obviously asking for advice, diff and things like that.
But it's also the guy signing your paychecks. So if
this is how wrong you.
Speaker 7 (18:04):
Have relationship with the guy who's paying your paycheck, everybody
will want to have a relationship with the person that.
Speaker 6 (18:11):
But I think what I'm saying is the issue now
becomes like he might be looking back oning.
Speaker 5 (18:16):
I gotta be careful what I say optics of it.
Speaker 2 (18:19):
Yeah, I got what you're saying.
Speaker 6 (18:22):
I have to get careful what I say to him
because he might act out irrationally. He might do something
like this. Whereas in the past, like again, if you
go back to Green Bay, even if he spoke to
someone on the board with the packers, it wasn't They
weren't going to make a decision like this with a
snap of their fingers.
Speaker 5 (18:39):
That's not how the packers operate the jets.
Speaker 6 (18:41):
When you have a majority owner like this, they can,
so he might be even a reevaluating how he's looking
at his relationship with Widdy Johnson or how is he's
looking at his relationships with everyone else. Were like, I
gotta be careful what I say, otherwise it could get
out and go somewhere and it leads to this And
he's like, and I had no intention to them this, right.
I mean, during the course of a football season, you
(19:03):
go through your ebbs and flows. There might be a
week or two where you hate your head coach. There
might be five weeks where you love them. Same thing
for your o c same thing you're a quarterback coach.
Players might feel that way about each other.
Speaker 7 (19:14):
Ever, like in my offense there you go see, I
don't ever liking them in the years years year hated
his offense and we hated them, damn looking at him
like all right, let's let's give them another chance.
Speaker 6 (19:27):
Fellas and that and that's the that stinks, because you'd
like to be able to have like true talent, Yeah,
not even bouce true love, where you're able to love
someone despite their inequities. There there there, whatever it is,
their abilities there, you know their performance. You'd rather be
able to love and fight for them through that. Even
though it's it's it's hard to build that as a team.
Speaker 2 (19:49):
We did for them. God had very much hope.
Speaker 5 (19:53):
Tell there's a lot of love there either.
Speaker 2 (19:55):
But like y'all at all, Yeah, I was damn bone.
Speaker 7 (19:58):
So you're on, is this somebody posting a picture your
fate's on the set lie with the Jets and said
this this sword doesn't explain at all.
Speaker 2 (20:08):
Yeah, I had nothing to do with it, but you definitely.
Speaker 6 (20:11):
Hey, I didn't throw a ball for you guys.
Speaker 5 (20:16):
All I try to do is make sure a rookie
was getting prepared for stuff.
Speaker 2 (20:19):
So you right, I blame I wish.
Speaker 5 (20:22):
I wish I could have played a role one way
or another.
Speaker 2 (20:25):
I blame all of you, but I didn't have I
didn't have anything to do with it. You're right, you people.
I still blame you people, y'all, You're wrong. You're ro man.
Speaker 1 (20:37):
It is two pros and a cup of shoe here

Speaker 2 (21:40):
What like? What?
Speaker 7 (21:41):
What has led to you being the type of person
that you are.
Speaker 2 (21:44):
Talking off air?
Speaker 7 (21:45):
Bro?
Speaker 2 (21:46):
What are you talking about? Oh? I mean that's the
growth show on air? Off air? Same guy.
Speaker 7 (21:51):
No, No, come on, you got everybody fool man?
Speaker 2 (21:54):
You like Aaron Rodgers.
Speaker 7 (21:55):
It's like you got every you come across a super
genuine I'll tell you that.
Speaker 1 (22:00):
I'm not even gonna spendable sentence trying to address any
of those outrageous.
Speaker 7 (22:08):
Hey, broh, you touched, man, like you're touched.
Speaker 2 (22:15):
I don't know what's wrong with you?
Speaker 5 (22:17):
What does that mean?
Speaker 7 (22:19):
He's outrageous with the stuffy be saying, man, and I
almost said profanity.
Speaker 2 (22:24):
I almost had to tough what I was gonna say.
Speaker 1 (22:26):
Listen, Brady knows this about me. My content off the
air always clean. So LeVar is trying to paint this
narrative that.
Speaker 5 (22:35):
He's not wrong. Man, you got problems.
Speaker 2 (22:37):
Gosh, it's just, oh my god, it's unfortunate.
Speaker 7 (22:41):
It's so funny though, it's like it's so funny, it's
so good. It's just not appropriate regular radio, which I
wish it was.
Speaker 2 (22:52):
I really do. I wish we.
Speaker 7 (22:54):
Could talk the way we talked, nor to break a
regular radio I really do. All right, well, I mean,
at least the way you talking, and that definitely not me.
My name, not your mouth. Hey, y'all get caught up.
Don't mention my name.
Speaker 2 (23:11):
It is two pros and a cup of Joe.
Speaker 1 (23:13):
Here on Fox Sports Radio, LeVar Arrington, Brady Quinn Jones
talks with you.
Speaker 8 (23:16):
So.
Speaker 2 (23:17):
Uh, we did have an announcement yesterday.
Speaker 1 (23:19):
We've got a change taking place for one team in
the NFL. We'll have that for you coming up here
in just a moment. But for all the latest from
around the world of sports, make some noise and pay
respect to the one, to the only, to the magnificent
Eddie Garcia.
Speaker 9 (23:36):
Well, thank you, Jonas and and LeVar. I can certainly
back you up. Back before Jonas became a big radio star,
he was producing a show and he used to actually
talk to me from time to time when we had
those conversations sometimes just completely disgusted, unbelievable discussion. I appreciate
you even giving it more content just I mean, I
(23:56):
mean you are that is very well, Eddie, going on
for years.
Speaker 2 (24:05):
I'm not going to accept this at this malarkey, what
are you talking about?
Speaker 5 (24:09):
Constantly disgusting?
Speaker 2 (24:11):
Thank you.
Speaker 9 (24:11):
Let's sit you updated on some postseason baseball. All four
divisional series were in action in the National League. The
Mets close out the Phillies four to one. They were
down one to nothing in the sixth inning when Francisco
Lindor stepped up and blasted a Grand Slam home run,
helping New York get that win. Starter Ose Cantana toss
five shutout innings. He had three lewis, allowing one run
(24:34):
on four hits. As New York eliminates the nl e's champs.
Philadelphia had the second best record in all of baseball
during the regular season.
Speaker 5 (24:41):
They are done.
Speaker 9 (24:41):
New York wins the series three games to one, and
they're onto the NLCS. They await the winner of the
Dodgers Podrays series, which is going to a deciding Game
five because LA rolled to an eight nothing win in
San Diego. Dodgers get homewards from Mookie Bets, Will Smith
and Gavin Lux. They used eight different pitchers to shut
out San Diego in this one, tying up the series
at two to two. That deciding game five Friday in
(25:03):
LA American League, we had the Yankees over the Royals
in Kansas City three to two. Gian Carlos stand for
New York go ahead solo homer in the eighth inning,
also an Rbai double in the win, as New York
grabs a two to one advantage in the series, and
the Tigers shout out the Guardians three nothing. Detroit using
six different pitchers to shut down Cleveland, limiting them to
six hits. Matt Ruling, Riley Green, and Spencer Torkolsen driving
(25:24):
and runs for Detroit. They lead that series two games
to one. Quick note of the NHL action last night,
you had the Rangers shutting out the Penguin six nothing,
Jets over the Oilers six nothing, Golden Knights outscore the
Avalanche eight to four. Canadians get by the Maple Leae
one nothing, and the Flames over the Canucks sixty five
in overtime. And news from the NFL. The league playing
New England Patriots safety Gabrill Peppers on the Commissioner's exemple
(25:47):
list a couple of days after he was arrested for
allegedly assaulting his girlfriend. Houston, Texas place a standout wide
receiver Nico Collins on injured reserve with a hamstring injury.
New Orleans Saints are going to go with the rookie
Spencer Rattler as our starting quarterback against the Buccaneers. In
the Las Vegas Raiders making quarterback change its eight and
O'Connell against the Steelers, replacing Gardner Minshew back to Brady
Quinn lvar Arrington and Jonas Knox at Highreck dot Com
(26:08):
Fox Sports Radio Studio.
Speaker 2 (26:10):
Yeah, there's that commissioner. It was meyway. You know, we
forgot we had little guy huh just popped down in nowhere.
Speaker 6 (26:20):
Yeah, hey, gay guys, remember that exemplest thing we've got.
Speaker 5 (26:25):
I think it might apply here. You know what, Roger,
that's a good call. Let's let's go and throw the
exzemp list out there for him.
Speaker 1 (26:31):
You know, they've been busy, they're trying to figure out
how many more games they can cram into international waters
and you know, try and get a twenty game season eventually.
Oh by the way, uh, you know, a guy accused
of assault and everything else that came along with it.
But uh yeah, let's go ahead and throw them on
the exemp list. I mean, yeah, you probably could have
done that with several other situations as well too, but
they didn't. And uh and off we go with the
(26:53):
NFL heading into Week six.
Speaker 7 (26:56):
Dennis Allen, it has been a seriously super entertaining year
so far. Yeah, I mean the storylines just continue to
be very, very intriguing, and.
Speaker 2 (27:08):
The games haven't even been that good.
Speaker 7 (27:11):
Really, the best reality TV show going for so long man,
and the storylines are so good this year.
Speaker 1 (27:18):
Man, the games just started getting good, Like everybody's finally
getting out of their preseason and they're like, all right
now we're going to go ahead and start to start
to put on a show. Dennis Allen Dennis Allen, head
coach of the New Orleans Saints. What's the planet quarterback?
This weekend?
Speaker 10 (27:35):
You guys are all going to be wondering who's going
to be the quarterback? Spencer Ratten will be the quarterback.
We talked a lot as a staff about what we
felt like was the best thing for us and give
us the best chance.
Speaker 2 (27:44):
To win the game.
Speaker 10 (27:45):
That was the decision that you know we made. And
we're excited about him getting an opportunity to go in
there and we'll let him go play and see what
he can do.
Speaker 5 (27:58):
That's not an accurate sound of a rat ready. That
is that's not you though, that's game day.
Speaker 2 (28:03):
But as he gets ready for the game, he's not
his own.
Speaker 6 (28:06):
Can I ask Dennis out mess? So he gives you
the best chance to win this week, but he didn't
last week when you put in Jake Canter instead. How
does that make any sense?
Speaker 1 (28:17):
And it's actually going to be because they've got this
game coming up and then they've got the short week afterwards,
and the reporting says that car is going to be
out indefinitely, so he's probably gonna miss both. So you know,
maybe that gives him the option of if Spencer Rattler struggles,
maybe go back to Jay Can in the second game
or possibly this game. But aren't you excited for a
guy mid round draft pick.
Speaker 2 (28:39):
Getting can ball? He can ball to sling it Rattler
can ball.
Speaker 7 (28:43):
Now the question is is he going to take this
opportunity and really, you know, do some special things with
with the opportunity, or you know, is it going to
be kind of a missed opportunity. So I'm excited to
see because I mean, listen, they got talent on that team,
they got a defense, and you know, all he has
(29:04):
to do is just not mess it up, you know,
and they could create a conversation. Even beyond you know,
Car gets back, it still could create a conversation or
it drives your value up for the opportunity to say,
you know, listen, I know I'm a back up here,
but you know, there could be other opportunities around the
league where teams are are interested in what your services
(29:26):
could be to them, just based off of how he
plays during this time.
Speaker 1 (29:30):
And the good thing about the backstory on Spencer Rattler
is that he got away from a place that doesn't
know how to develop quarterbacks in Oklahoma and went to
a QB factory in South Carolina.
Speaker 5 (29:40):
Right, that's right. Let's go over the recent history.
Speaker 6 (29:43):
How many quarterbacks have been drapped from Oklahoma Between Baker Mayfield,
I guess you consider Jalen Hurts unless you don't.
Speaker 5 (29:49):
Maybe in that conversation, Kyler Murray also went.
Speaker 6 (29:52):
Number one overall. Williams he was there originally now went
to USC. I'm not sure he's claiming them, but I mean,
who else has been af from South Carolina?
Speaker 2 (30:02):
Uh?
Speaker 1 (30:02):
You know Samuel Connor, Shaw and Clowney could probably Clowny.
You know, there's Stefan Gilmore.
Speaker 5 (30:12):
I knew.
Speaker 6 (30:13):
I knew when this came up and the topics on
the rundown, Jones was going to be excited to talk
about it because it was a South Carolina game.
Speaker 2 (30:20):
Know, I'm excited to talk about it because I do.
Speaker 5 (30:23):
Like you want to just you just wanted to say
cock is what you want to say?
Speaker 2 (30:27):
That is not true. I mean, listening to you.
Speaker 1 (30:35):
Talk, this is this is I'm just a broadcast professional here.
This is unacceptable. And again I will not stand for
this malarkey to be misrepresented.
Speaker 6 (30:44):
I get it, dude. You just you want to have,
you know, a bunch of guy time. You know, act
like I get it. I understand. We don't need to interject.
Spencer Rattlers starting all right, because he wanted do you
want to do for South Carolina?
Speaker 2 (31:01):
God? Why conversations out of control?
Speaker 1 (31:03):
Why can't you let a South Carolina product get a
little bit of burn time? Why does everything have to
be present of state nowadays?
Speaker 5 (31:08):
Like everything?
Speaker 7 (31:09):
So now you want to go to South Carolina switching
things up? Though you switch things up so quickly, you're wrong.
Speaker 5 (31:18):
The real USC is.
Speaker 2 (31:19):
That what you're saying, the real us C South Carolina. No,
you want to say game cocks, that real game cocks.
That is not.
Speaker 5 (31:26):
True locker room talking.
Speaker 7 (31:28):
Yeah, and by the way, I don't recall ever having
a conversation in my locker room about any game cocks.
Speaker 2 (31:35):
The video you never played with the South Carolina guy?
Speaker 11 (31:38):
No, No, damn, I'm I thought I've never played with
a game cock my life.
Speaker 2 (31:50):
I could have sworn you did. No Diddy, No, no Diddy,
you ain't gonna give me.
Speaker 7 (32:01):
Wa you never played with it before.
Speaker 6 (32:08):
No, that whole scenario is getting really really interesting.
Speaker 2 (32:13):
Bro. That's that's Alice in Wonderland.
Speaker 6 (32:17):
Yeah, here's the hard part about it, because this is
where it kind of I should say kind of. It
doesn't at all crossover sports, but it crosses over a
little bit with something you mentioned earlier, LeVar, where like
if it was rumored to of or a certain like
right now, Oprah's caught up at all this And that's
what I'm saying. It's like, I'm not making anything of it.
(32:39):
I don't know Oprah. I don't know whether or not
that's a part of the whole conversation or what's happening
behind the scenes, or if she actually owns the alleged
or supposed tape. All I'm saying is like, you gotta
be careful with that stuff. Like her name's we floated
out there, but I'm not. There's not a whole lot
of validity to it.
Speaker 7 (32:56):
There's a lot more, but you're right, But once it's
out there, is out there, you know, is out there
for consumption. People using artificial intelligence to do reports as
with with you know, people like you.
Speaker 5 (33:09):
By the way, for the record, Jonas, let us here,
just for the record, I did not.
Speaker 7 (33:13):
I just think it is and for what is worth,
there are some athletes that are actually being mentioned these allegations.
So I will not I will not be a part
of this. I just know it's getting don't try to
get out of it, Jonas.
Speaker 2 (33:32):
Now you have to live in this moment about like
I'm okay.
Speaker 1 (33:36):
Like, if you guys want to swim in the mud,
we can swim in the mud.
Speaker 2 (33:38):
I I'm ready to.
Speaker 5 (33:40):
What's your take on?
Speaker 1 (33:42):
My take is the next time somebody speaks up, don't
just immediately dismiss it like a lot of people did
with Kat Williams.
Speaker 2 (33:49):
That's what I would say. Because Cat was calling it
all the way out.
Speaker 6 (33:52):
Bang bang, Oh you're taking credit for that now, No,
he did does all the dirty work, you're taking the credit.
Speaker 1 (33:59):
I'm just saying, you know, if there's anything to question
when it comes is calling it all the way out.
Speaker 7 (34:05):
And now I ain't going down that lane. Sorry, my guy,
I ain't going I ain't going.
Speaker 2 (34:11):
To it was offered fifty million dollars three times. No,
oh yeah, so hey, there we go.
Speaker 1 (34:21):
That's the congratulations of the New Orleans saying, so you
really thought you'd have more there, You've got a rattle.
Speaker 2 (34:25):
There was a lot more to it. But you know,
Jonahs only does it off airs soon as.
Speaker 7 (34:29):
He takes I don't understand what is as soon as
you take us, as soon as you take us to break,
you're gonna give me your real take on the story.
Speaker 2 (34:36):
And you guys believe it is.
Speaker 7 (34:41):
It will be a banger of an explanation.
Speaker 2 (34:46):
Can't wait for it. Take us to break. Jonah's on
to hear it.

Sometimes you can't get to everything in the world of
sports or entertainment. Good thing the guys are here to
bring you.
Speaker 5 (37:04):
In case you missed but.
Speaker 2 (37:07):
That, we turned it over to our executive producer, Lee
lap Weddy.
Speaker 12 (37:13):
Good morning, Jonas, Good morning Brady, Good morning LeVar. Hey guys,
In case you missed this, I know we all have
our eyes on Hurricane Milton and uh if you hey Brady,
hey bar yeah the lap Hey, but hey guys, In
case you missed this yet, we all have our eyes
on Hurricane Milton. And as you might have noticed or
have missed, Trump canon Field got hit with over one
(37:34):
hundred miles per hour winds and partly the roof has
been ripped off of the field.
Speaker 5 (37:39):
Have you seen this?
Speaker 1 (37:40):
Yeah, there wasn't there tornadoes attached to it as well too,
Like there was tornadoes like.
Speaker 6 (37:44):
There's usually tornadoes attached around a lot of those hurricanes.
Speaker 2 (37:48):
Damn man.
Speaker 5 (37:48):
So there's Actually it was like a two storm system.
Speaker 6 (37:53):
And I don't know if you saw some of the
images before it made landfall, but there was a second
almost like tropical storm type front that moved through. So
it kind of moved across the state rather fast. But
even on the west side of the state, like Vero Beach,
an area that was north of where I was living,
they got torn up by a tornado. A bunch of
(38:14):
bunch of houses lost the roofs et cetera. So pretty
devastating for a lot of folks down there.
Speaker 5 (38:19):
I hope they're all right.
Speaker 1 (38:21):
And it seemed like when it started to diminish, it
was a category five and then next thing you know,
it was a three, and I think the thought was, well,
it's weakening, and then you see Tropicana Field just get destroyed.
Speaker 2 (38:32):
So, yeah, all the roof is gone all over the field.
Speaker 5 (38:36):
I think the hard thing is is not a lot
of people have seen and been around.
Speaker 6 (38:40):
For a category five, because most people evacuate and get
the hell out. Because even those who are brave enough
to try to be down there through the storm, they'll
tell you they're not standing around for a category five,
maybe not even a category four because the winds are
so bad. Like unless your home is built to a
certain rating, which I believe after Andrews most of the
(39:02):
construction has to be. Even then it's a question mark
of whether or not that house, with that home will
still be standing. I mean there's no basements, there's not
I should say there's not many in South Florida or
in Florida in general.
Speaker 5 (39:16):
So there's nowhere really to hide.
Speaker 6 (39:18):
So you got to evacuate, get the hell out of
there between the wind and then the storm surge, which
can create some devastation as far as the flooding, that's brutal.
Speaker 12 (39:26):
What else we got, lee, Yeah, two trumpic Cannas down
in two days, guys, in case you missed this tent.
Speaker 1 (39:30):
Cheese, I mean he's right, yeah, I mean both for
different reasons. Lye, that is correct, But you have some
class I menybody's right.
Speaker 7 (39:38):
Maybe it's too soon, Lee, but I mean you are correct,
You ain't wrong, guys.
Speaker 12 (39:43):
In case you miss this, tennis legend Rafael Nadal has
announced his retirement after winning twenty two Grand Slams and
at the age of thirty eight, citing the last two
years specifically being hampered by injuries. He's gonna call it
quits after the Davis Cup, which is in late November.
Speaker 2 (39:57):
Beast of a player.
Speaker 7 (39:59):
I'm not tennis fan, but there's a couple names that
stick out that I really enjoy watch and that's one
of the names.
Speaker 2 (40:06):
So good for him. Great career, brilliant career.
Speaker 5 (40:09):
How old is he?
Speaker 2 (40:09):
Lee? Thirty eight?
Speaker 6 (40:12):
Crazy too, that's considered like ancient in the sport, usually
around thirty two, thirty three that they're done.
Speaker 1 (40:19):
And he's got that crazy record on clay right where
he's only lost like two or three times in his
career at the Front Open or something.
Speaker 5 (40:27):
Unbeatable, absolutely unbeatable.
Speaker 2 (40:29):
Yeah, what else we got guys?
Speaker 12 (40:31):
In case you missed this, Ryder Cup has plans to
crack down on unruly fans when the tournament heads back
to American soil on Tuesday. Team USA captain King Bradley
held a joint practice joint press conference alongside a Team
europe skipper Luke Donald to discuss this, saying that any
fans who just decided to disrupt the opposing country.
Speaker 2 (40:52):
To be asked to leave. Can you say it again?
Speaker 3 (40:56):
Lee?
Speaker 2 (40:56):
I think he did a great job. Thank you. Can
you do it again?
Speaker 11 (40:58):
Lee?
Speaker 8 (40:59):
Lee?
Speaker 6 (40:59):
I know we had to delivery Wednesday, lasterday, and he's
still stumbling around, like what's happening?
Speaker 12 (41:02):
Well, no, as you remember if you in case you
missed it, I told you that delivery Wednesdays has come
to an end.
Speaker 2 (41:07):
No more delivery Wednesdays.
Speaker 5 (41:08):
Why is that?
Speaker 2 (41:09):
Uh? No longer doing that? Shacked it up?
Speaker 5 (41:11):
Yeah, you're not talking about shift or Todd's.
Speaker 7 (41:14):
Like he's hitting you like Aaron Rodgers is hitting. Yeah,
he's not telling you the real reason why it happened,
but to doing it.
Speaker 5 (41:21):
So you're not doing that?
Speaker 12 (41:22):
Well, I do know the secret knock in, how to
break in, so I can why you can join doing it?
Speaker 2 (41:26):
He doesn't want to. Yeah, sleeping in. There's more to
it than that, damn best believe it
