God bless your ears, sir. Oh yeah, God, why, God
bless your ears? Holy moldly, what happened? Put my airphones up,
my head, set my cans on with his volume setting. Yeah,
it's beyond loud, that's all. God bless your ears, sir.

Speaker 5 (01:49):
Well, one group of people who are going to be
loud is the Ohio State Buckeye.

Speaker 3 (01:54):
They want to be loud, Yes they will, but for
how long? How long before they want to ber Day again?

Speaker 5 (02:01):
Well, I mean they'll be They'll be loud until they
run into a Michigan fan.

Speaker 6 (02:06):
A Michigan fan will remind them that they beat him
this past season.

Speaker 4 (02:11):
I meant, I'll give Notre Dame credit.

Speaker 1 (02:13):
They made it somewhat competitive towards the end, and the
first drive started getting good vibes and then afterwards too
much talent.

Speaker 5 (02:22):
Man, I don't even know if it was too much talent.
I think, look, Notre Name's banged up. You know, it's
been part of the storyline that they've faced a bunch
of injuries different levels.

Speaker 6 (02:34):
And I said this last week.

Speaker 5 (02:36):
I think when we were talking before, you know, we
had a new addition in our lives. But I was
some about the linebacker play and I thought this game
would be one where that would be the position group
that stood out. And I thought, of of all the
groups that as far as I needed to have a
big game, that probably didn't was Notre Name linebackers. Like

(02:56):
I'm thinking that it's I want to you know, in
the back of my mind right now thin of like
what play, what moment they really had that was a
big play, maybe the fumble recovery that kind of helped
them get back into the game when I think it
was what it was a mecha Abuka who had the long,
long reception that they had a fumble recovery. But there

(03:18):
weren't many plays where Notre Dame's linebackers impacted the game
like they have throughout the course.

Speaker 6 (03:25):
Of the season. That was that was one thing that
I kind of thought of and like stood out.

Speaker 5 (03:29):
But I mean, look, I thought that game started about
as perfect as it could have for Notre Dame, and
obviously Ohio State was going to respond after that first drive,
but it was just the inability to I think, get
off the field, get a stop. I mean, Ohio State
did what you know, Penn State and Georgia probably should
have tried to do more of, and that was lean

(03:50):
on that defensive front that was banged up for Notre Dame.
But they were able to do it and they kind
of controlled the game after that second quarter from there
on out.

Speaker 3 (03:58):
Yeah, I mean, my sentiment us and it's crazy because
Penn State and Georgia did it at times, they just
didn't stay with it. And for what it's worth, I mean,
the quarterback play was at a higher level, at a
higher level than Georgia and Penn State. The receiver level
was at a higher level. I won't say running backs,

(04:19):
but but those two elements seemed to be which I
think I think there's some accuracy to what you're saying.
In terms of the linebackers, there just wasn't a lot
of pressure. It just seemed like maybe they were sitting
back and trying to keep them in front of them,
almost like they were in that Tampa two type of

(04:40):
set scenario where it was like, if as long as
we keep Ohio State in front of us, will be okay.

Speaker 6 (04:46):
Because it didn't.

Speaker 3 (04:47):
Seem as though they were as active as they had
been in games prior to this one. So I mean,
they started revving it up a little bit, and they
started like running a couple different type of stunts or
different type of approaches to get into the backfield. But
I don't know, I thought I thought that their game plan,

(05:07):
I thought that their game plan was just a little
bit different than what it had been. And I don't
know if it's because of you know, game plan from
Ohio State and the way they forced you know, Notre
Dame to align and to play and who was going
to be in there, or I know they played the
nickelback with Ryan Clark's son pretty much the whole game.
You know, That's what they do, right, That's what they

(05:29):
do anyway, right, So it just I don't it just
seemed like it was a different approach, you know, than
what it had been in games prior to Well.

Speaker 6 (05:40):
I won't we won't. We won't need to get an
argument about it. It was. It was.

Speaker 5 (05:44):
It was the defense they ran. They talked about it
going into it. They can't make a wholesale change. The
lack of pressure largely kind of came from. Look, Ohio
State did a good job protecting Will Howard, and I thought,
you know, look the injuries to the defensive front, Rodley Mills,
who leads the team in sacks, or you know, you know,
a couple of the other players up front, you know,

(06:04):
guys who are more impactful off the edge. They it
just they weren't there and it kind of showed up,
you know, And that's that's the reality of what happens
when you've got injuries and you've got guys who you
know aren't aren't there out there that are your your
game breakers. But again, look credit to Ohio State. That team,
when they play to their potential, was the best team
in the country. You know at times you saw that

(06:25):
this year and I thought, you know, one of the
things that Ryan Day needs more, you know, deserves more
credit for, is they could have gone in the tank.
They could have been licking their wounds. They could have
not responded after losing to Michigan for four straight years.
But Ryan Day got that team motivated and got them
to be able to play their best football at the

(06:47):
start of the playoffs, and after that Bud Kigy versus
Tennessee absolutely the first half of wiping out Oregon altogether.
I mean, you go through the list of teams they
went through to get there, Texas, then Notre Dame. I
don't know that there's been a national champion that's had
a harder path. Now, granted, the expanded playoff is part
of that, but like the LSU team that won it

(07:09):
with Burrow comes to mind, they played a really really
hard schedule that season and obviously went through the fourteen playoff.
That one comes to mind too, because the SEC championship
game obviously the college foot will playoff. But outside of that, man,
I can't think as many teams that played the gauntlet
that some of these teams played this season.

Speaker 6 (07:27):
So credit to Ryan Day.

Speaker 5 (07:30):
And I wonder a little bit like how much the
whole flag planning thing kind of little fire on this
team and kind of it sounds stupid to mention, but
when you really think about it, like this is a
team that didn't lay down like they were still ready
to fight, they still had games left to play and
fight for, and there's you could see elements of that.

(07:52):
I mean I again, I was at that Ohio State
Tennessee game and they were able to wipe away a
loss to their biggest rival and their biggest rivalry and
sports in my opinion, and still be able to respond. So,
you know, credit to that team, credits to Ryan Day.
You got to take your hat off and give them
credit where credits due.

Speaker 1 (08:09):
Here was Blackbeard himself, Old Ryan Day. Whether some speculation
whether that was Beijing or whether it was just for
men Clara Wax will shoot Polish, but here he was postgame.

Speaker 7 (08:23):
These guys could, you know, learn a bunch of life lessons.
But they're going to go down in Ohio State history,
as some of you know, one of the greatest teams
to ever play.

Speaker 6 (08:30):
At Ohio State.

Speaker 7 (08:30):
After all the things that have been said throughout the year,
these guys are going to be cemented as one of
the best stories in Ohio State history and one of
the best football teams ever. Only nine teams have ever
done it, and three in the over fifty years.

Speaker 6 (08:44):
These guys right here, and.

Speaker 7 (08:46):
There was a point where not a lot of people
had that vision, but these guys did and they saw
it through. And Ohio State may not be for everybody,
but it's for these guys.

Speaker 6 (08:55):
And I'm really proud of them.

Speaker 1 (08:56):
And the best part about it doesn't matter because you
run into a Michigan fan and they've owned four years.

Speaker 3 (09:04):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (09:05):
But but Ohio State fans have been saying this for a
long time. Well, the one that matters most is beating Michigan. Okay,
all right, so, but national celebrate cautiously.

Speaker 3 (09:15):
Be clear, if they had lost that game last night,
the conversations would be drastically different today. Like we can
say hypothetically or maybe even realistically, and and factually, Michigan
fans will do that you didn't even make the playoffs, Michigan, like,
good for you. You won the game, and you'll get
your gold pants or whatever it is, y'all get good

(09:36):
for y'all, But you weren't even in the playoff. They
were good enough to make it in the playoff and
and they redeemed their loss to Oregon in an emphatic fashion.
In fact, every single game they've played in in the
playoff game, as it was detailed back Q, has been
an emphatic fashion. So that's cool if you're a Michigan fan,

(09:58):
and that's what you have to lean on. But let's
be clear that there's levels to this. There's levels that
them boys just won the national title, Like like, props
do they won a national title? So you can, okay,
we're Michigan. We're yeah, you didn't even make it. I mean,
you didn't even make it. You didn't even make it
to the playoffs this year. My guys, sorry, oh sorry,

(10:23):
I mean, just keep it in a proper place.

Speaker 5 (10:25):
Trust me, I know exactly what you're saying. I'm just
telling you right now because that's a petty rivalry and
there's a lot of pettyiness.

Speaker 6 (10:33):
I get it.

Speaker 5 (10:34):
And I was in Atlanta, you know, I was in Atlanta.
There's there's Michigan fans. I was like, what are you
doing here? They're like, oh, we just wanted to come
around and make sure to remind a how state they
lost to us this year. I'm like, all right, Like
Michigan fans went to Atlanta just to remind Ohio State
fans about the game earlier this season. It's bizarre, but

(10:58):
that rivalry, as petty and as crazy as it gets,
so I understand what you're saying. Man, Like, Ohio State
won it. They got the national championship. You know, koon
Is to Ryan day two because that was part of
the conversation after the loss of Michigan is like, well,
you know, who are they gonna find, Like he's not
a good coach. He's like, no, he is a really

(11:19):
good coach. He's he's gonna eventually win a national championship.
It happened to be this year, and he'll eventually figure
out how to beat Michigan. Like they'll change that that
run that's happened right now for the Wolverines. But trust me,
there's there's still gonna be a lot of Michigan fans
to hold on to that for this past season.

Speaker 3 (11:38):
I like I said, rivalries, they matter, good for them,
but I mean they're the national champs. So sorry, Like,
nobody's going to take anything away from which y'all beat
Ohio State, but nobody's going to take anything away from
your national championship last year, which, by the way, it
is two years straight that it has been a big
ten representative when the championship it is.

Speaker 6 (12:01):
It is interesting now that nil is legalized.

Speaker 5 (12:04):
You know, you kind of look the past couple of
years and it's and really even look at like the
schools that were in it. You had Michigan versus Washington.
Last year, you have a high state notit name this year.
I mean last year is a complete Big ten. This
year it's one team, but another team that's kind of
in that region. Like you look at the impact that
Nil's had on all these other teams now able to

(12:24):
construct the roster, and therein lies kind of your solution
maybe to what was always missing in the past.

Speaker 1 (12:32):
Any issue with Marcus Freeman electing to kick a field
goal down sixteen at that point.

Speaker 6 (12:37):
Do we have the sound?

Speaker 5 (12:38):
Because I do think you got to play his response
because it you know, I'll just say this. I mean,
he's got a guy who is very sharp. It was
constantly usually with them on the sideline, sometimes in the booth.
That's giving him those stats. And I imagine what the
conversation was. But do we have the sound?

Speaker 6 (12:56):
First? Yeah, that's awesome.

Speaker 8 (12:58):
You know, instead of being down sicken, let's try to
go down thirteen. And I know it's still a two
score game, but you have better better probability of getting
fourteen points and you do sixteen points, and so if
it was a shorter fourth and goal situation, I probably
would have gone for it. But I just felt fourth
and nine was not a great chance for us to

(13:19):
make that, and you know, and decided to kick it
and we didn't make it.

Speaker 5 (13:24):
Yeah, look, I mean, if they make the kick, I
don't know that anyone's second guessing decision. Maybe still a
little bit because you're looking at the numbers. But again,
he's got a guy who's telling him the probably four
minutes left. It was, Yeah, I think it was a
little more than that was like six, no and a half. No,
I don't think it was that much. I think it
was like like four and a half minutes. I want

(13:44):
to say it was like four. I'm pretty certain I
saw like four minutes because I was thinking to myself,
how many I think they had? What they had all
their timeouts right at that time, or maybe one of
their timeouts, and they had the two minutes and had
the two minutes. I thought it was not I didn't
think that there was enough time. I thought it was
a in a way, I thought it was a gutsy

(14:07):
good decision rather than a gutsy bad decision.

Speaker 3 (14:10):
Or however, you want to call it. I thought it
made sense to get it to thirteen because it was
gonna be you you have to be perfect in order
to be able to score two more times.

Speaker 1 (14:20):
It was the other touchdown.

Speaker 3 (14:24):
That's then it makes it even more. That makes it
even more. That's a good decision. That's if you get
the three points, you have nine minutes left, you have
all your timeouts. The defense was was doing pretty they
were doing pretty good against Yeah, they were doing pretty good.
You know, the penalty take place after with the hit

(14:47):
on the quarterback. Was that after they missed the field
gold or was it before? It might have been before.

Speaker 1 (14:52):
Before after the timeout, the TV timeout, Marcus Freeman was
talking and said, yeah, know the penalty, that right, we
need it. We need a turnover. If we can get it,
and Chris.

Speaker 3 (15:04):
Fou then they get a turnover.

Speaker 1 (15:06):
Chris Fowler made the point of the broadcast. He's like, well,
you know the thing about Ohio State is they don't
fumble the ball.

Speaker 3 (15:10):
Then they fumbled that play.

Speaker 1 (15:12):
They fumbled the ball and Notre Dame recovered it. So
it opened the door. I mean I could have you know,
would have helped if maybe Notre Dame would have kept
the score within fourteen and a half, close, close and there.

Speaker 5 (15:23):
Well, I mean they over didn't hit it, you know
in that case, right, it did for your six point teacher.

Speaker 3 (15:28):
You can just go ahead and tell everyone you lost
on both ends.

Speaker 1 (15:30):
Of listen tease. You know, me and I tried and.

Speaker 6 (15:34):
He tried and it did not did not.

Speaker 5 (15:36):
Yeah, damn it didn't work. Well, Well, they kept it
within that number.

Speaker 9 (15:42):
One.

Speaker 6 (15:42):
On that side of it, you lost.

Speaker 1 (15:43):
The Yeah, the over, yeah, I needed and I felt
good about the under, especially after the first quarter because
it was two long drives. Nobody could seemingly get anybody
off the field, and I was.

Speaker 6 (15:54):
Like, okay, lot. Ohio State was in trouble man.

Speaker 3 (15:56):
The way they moved that ball in that first ye
first series, that was like these boys.

Speaker 5 (16:01):
It felt like Ohio State though, And this is something
that they don't get enough credit for as their adjustments.
Notre Dame's done a good job of that too throughout
the playoffs, but Ohio State, you know, Jim Knowles, their
defensive coordinator, and even Ryan Dan chip Kelly like they've
made adjustments as well as anyone in second halfs of
games this year. If you actually go back through the
regular season too, so kind of knew that may be coming.

(16:23):
But just going back to the decision again, he's got
a guy who's giving him those probabilities. I imagine that he
said to him, like, hey, here's your win probability with
nine and a half minutes left, all your timeouts, and
you know where we're at, Like your your ability to
and especially this team this year, like you know they're

(16:44):
gonna have to throw the football.

Speaker 6 (16:46):
You know, that hasn't been the strength.

Speaker 5 (16:48):
Even though Riley Leonard I thought played as good of
a game as he could have. You know, that was
about as good as he could have last night. The
kid's tough, he's gritty, he's a leader, he's all those things.
But he's just not gonna be able to dice you
up and you know, through the air and make some
of those plays like he made some good throws last night,
he asked the season. But it's just that's not his strength.

(17:10):
And I thought in that moment it wasn't the worst decision.
It just it backfires when you miss, because now it
looks like, okay, this is insurmountable now, like we lost
all momentum we had getting down here, but people could
second guess it.

Speaker 6 (17:23):
You know. I know a lot of.

Speaker 5 (17:24):
Purists are like, what are you doing at this point
in the game, and why not at least I try
to go for it, because the counter to all that's like, well,
if the probability of getting sixteen.

Speaker 6 (17:34):
Points isn't as good as getting you know.

Speaker 5 (17:36):
Fourteen, the reality is you're down to a point where
you're like, you're not really taking into account probabilities because
you got nine and a half minutes left to win
the game. So you got to do something and you're
gonna have to get desperate. You have to work against
the odds at some point. So that's kind of the
counter to that conversation. But again, in the end, you're
going to be at that steal gold in the end.

Speaker 3 (17:57):
If you're a football purest and you understand and how
probabilities work, chances are you're going to need that field
goal at the end of the game versus at that
point where he kicked it. Well, so it just it
just kind of it works out that way because it's
the probability of you getting two touchdowns and two point conversions.

(18:18):
It's not highly likely. It's not going to be highly likely,
so you're going to be down by that field gold. Anyway,
if you were to score the two you know, the
two touchdowns, you're gonna if you miss one of those
those two points, you're going to have to end up
kicking the field goal. Whether it's one minute left, you know,

(18:40):
fifty seconds left, and you have the ball back and
you got to try to get down there to kick
a field gold. Whatever it is, chances are you're going
to end up having the kick a field goal to
win the game. So I didn't have a problem for me.
I didn't have a problem with with the with the logic.
I thought it was less time. There was even more
time than what I was thinking. So it's kind of

(19:00):
like you had your timeouts, you had nine minutes turning
into a thirteen point game. Your defense is playing pretty
decent right now, take a chance, take a chance like
it's a momentum swing, and you didn't take you know,
you didn't take the momentum away by missing on fourth down.
It was fourth and long, So at that point in
the game, you're playing a decent defense. I thought it

(19:21):
was a good decision.

Speaker 1 (19:22):
If you ask God, I wonder how obnoxious Breer is
going to be God? All that Breer is going to be.

Speaker 5 (19:28):
Well, here's the thing is Breer did he even go
to the game? That might have been why they won.
I think that he wasn't a part of the game.

Speaker 1 (19:34):
I thought he sent a tweet out, he's sent something.
Yet it was like like when, like when the whole
fing thing or something like that. Like he actually cursed
in his tweet, which means he's probably been licking the
little lit pre game and then you know, got a
little froggy and decided to jump on social media and start,
you know, cursing it up a storm with kends with

(19:56):
a lot of.

Speaker 3 (19:56):
Ohio State players. But I don't like Ohio State. I
think Ohio State and and Michigan people are schnobs. I
think they're like arrogant snobs.

Speaker 1 (20:09):
Yeah, but where do they fall? Like if you had
to go like snob rankings, who's one and two?

Speaker 3 (20:15):
Honestly, I would have thought a while back, I would
have thought Michigan was one to to how States two?
But I don't know, man, I don't know. I think
they're one in one A to be honest, in terms
of football schnobs, it's it's pretty they're pretty high. They're
both pretty high up there. Hey, speaking of licking the lid,

(20:36):
how's leading that this morning? But yesterday was a rough
one for him? You know, Hey, Lee, Hey guys.

Speaker 6 (20:45):
Yeah, bro, yesterday, how are we doing, buddy?

Speaker 3 (20:48):
I'm doing pretty good. And we heard there was a
reblocking that took place as well too, So.

Speaker 6 (20:54):
Yeah, you know they're reblocking.

Speaker 3 (20:56):
Yeah, you missed a lot yesterday, man, they tell them.

Speaker 1 (21:00):
Yeah, Mike Shanahan would be proud of the blocking scheme
by Lee's girlfriend.

Speaker 6 (21:05):
Oh yeah, oh wow, that way, we're still doing that. Huh.

Speaker 3 (21:09):
Well you saw you saw what I walked out of
my own phone nowadays. Yeah, you saw what I sent
you yesterday to the Dynamic Duo, right, yeah, all right,
So that that was a whole like three segments of
the show yesterday, and and it was pretty entertaining, is
what I'll say. Super entertaining. But we found out that well,

(21:32):
Loraina and Lee being workout buddies partners just it wasn't
you know, that wasn't part of what the discuss plan was.
And that became common not pre approved.

Speaker 6 (21:46):
There we go.

Speaker 5 (21:47):
It was not prob Your life decisions have to be
preapproved by someone else.

Speaker 3 (21:50):
Yeah, and then and then and then checked on at
the gym.

Speaker 6 (21:56):
Oh no, oh yeah, who know?

Speaker 3 (21:58):
Oh yeah, and then act and taken you know, upon
leaving note no hugs, So you had to get the
side hug. No following out on social media. Uh, do
not break the five inch rule, you know the Well,
I shouldn't go into too many details on.

Speaker 5 (22:17):
This, but I was gonna say, you know that the
thing with the side hug is, you know, you kind
of like a lot of women feel like it's a
less intimate hug. Yet if we're being real, you know,
when a guy gives like the side hug, there's there's
portions of his body that may hit against the woman's
body just because you because because of the angle angles

(22:41):
that careers. Like if you do a front two hand
like normal hug and embrace, there's the hips back that
where you don't really feel as much in the lower half.

Speaker 6 (22:49):
Of the man.

Speaker 1 (22:50):
She was worried about my hips also side well.

Speaker 5 (22:52):
Not your hips. I think she was Lee's hips against
your side of your you.

Speaker 1 (22:58):
Know, also that side hug better view from what I've
been told.

Speaker 6 (23:03):
Yeah, you've been told that. Yeah, yeah, I don't. I
don't even know what that means.

Speaker 5 (23:08):
I apologize yesterday, you know, We've got a new born,
little baby boy born last Thursday.

Speaker 6 (23:15):
Congratulates little k Quinn.

Speaker 5 (23:18):
