We had some gate gate changes, but we made it,
you know, made it, made it to Avalon and yeah,
last night was the event for for the Happy Valley

(01:32):
United Collective for Penn State and uh.

Speaker 2 (01:36):
Collective.

Speaker 1 (01:38):
Yeah, there you go, there you go.

Speaker 2 (01:40):
It was longer than I thought I was going to
be actually saying that. Yeah.

Speaker 6 (01:49):
Yeah, there was a lot of things rolling off my
tongue yesterday. This one, this one, this one will show
be an interesting show for your boys. Let's just what
do you I'm still trying to adjust to the time
zone change, that's all.

Speaker 1 (02:04):
Yeah, well, I mean that's what I'm going to blame
it on.

Speaker 5 (02:07):
Three hours later.

Speaker 2 (02:09):
Man, we've got to get you back to the East
Coast town zone. Man, I'm telling you it misses you.

Speaker 1 (02:16):
You never know, you never know.

Speaker 6 (02:19):
But as it applies to now, let's just say we're
we're going to work together to get through this show, all.

Speaker 2 (02:31):
Right.

Speaker 5 (02:32):
So well let's go arm in arm and we can
do this together. We'll make it work.

Speaker 1 (02:36):
Yeah, you know, yeah, thank.

Speaker 5 (02:38):
You, Flowers.

Speaker 3 (02:39):
And I mean we're a team, you know, we like
being around each other, you know. And in fact, we
look at it and go, you know, this is not
our last show.

Speaker 5 (02:48):
Like we don't look at it like that. We look
at it like we're going to have this show.

Speaker 3 (02:51):
And then we're going to be back on Monday, and
we just continue on from there.

Speaker 5 (02:55):
In Dallas setting up Well, I'm just.

Speaker 3 (02:57):
Saying in Dallas, Jerry Jones feels the exact same way
about his starting quarterback Dak Prescott. They were in Oxnard yesterday,
or is Brady likes to refer to it Knoxnard?

Speaker 2 (03:08):
I never do that.

Speaker 3 (03:09):
Well, depending on who you ask, you know, you go
down the right street, you can find somebody who says it.

Speaker 5 (03:13):
But the point is.

Speaker 7 (03:18):
Probably not.

Speaker 3 (03:19):
The point is Jerry Jones was talking yesterday. He says
he's used to this whole contract stuff with players that
want more money and it being in camp. Nothing new
to see here, and then he was asked about what
the future could look like with Dak Prescott.

Speaker 8 (03:35):
Jerry, you mentioned about Dak potentially going to the final
year of his contract and you being all in on
this year, him being all in on this season, has
that allowed you.

Speaker 5 (03:43):
To think that this could be his last scene with
the Cowboys?

Speaker 4 (03:46):
I don't think so. Just to be very specific, I
do not think that this will be his last year
with Cowboys at all. It's pretty clear. I think I
want to say it if it hadn't been clear of
how much we appreciate what Dak Prescott has meant to
this team in a positive way, and the players do

(04:07):
play better when he's out there. He does make his
teammates play at a higher level, There's no question about it.
So I'm right there in line with his best with
his best fan.

Speaker 3 (04:20):
Yet still no deal after this year, and he's still
just kind of waiting around for his for his contract
to get done, much like Ceedee Lamb, much like Michael
Parsons who's in line for a contract, and Jerry Jones
is going to let it fly here this year.

Speaker 5 (04:35):
And he talked about.

Speaker 3 (04:36):
Being all in and his definition of all in is
kind of a word salad version of well, you know,
we need to focus on this year and then you know,
we worry about you know that stuff later on. But
it does feel like there's a lot on the line
this upcoming season for Dallas. But he apparently thinks that
Dak Prescott's going to be their long term doesn't see

(04:57):
it as his final year frontal run in Dallas. Would
you surprising because he doesn't have a contract after this
year now, Dak Prescott, he spoke about the situation as
well too yesterday, and he was a little bit more
realistic about what could happen. Let's take a listen to
number four.

Speaker 9 (05:16):
It's a two way street that they have once I
have once. I think I've deserved that understanding that this
is a business, and obviously I want to be here
talking about growing up, this is this is where I've
become a man. So but that end of the day,
at the end of the day, it's a business.

Speaker 2 (05:36):
And you know when.

Speaker 9 (05:42):
I'm gonna say, uh, I want to be here, but
you know, and you look up all the great quarterbacks
I watched played for other teams. So my point in
saying that is that that's not something to fear. That
may be a reality for me one day may not
be my decision. So that's the the freedom that I
have is be where your feet or make the most
of it, be confident in yourself, make your team better.

(06:05):
I love my teammates, I love that locker room. I
love everything about being out here in oxn Ord and
being a Dallas cowboy.

Speaker 3 (06:11):
So that sounded a little bit less optimistic about Yeah,
it's just a foregone conclusion I'm gonna be here, and
more about a guy who's like, now I'm gonna get
what I want I deserve it, and that's how this
is gonna work.

Speaker 2 (06:22):
I mean, he's put himself in a position to do so.
You know, why would you not utilize the leverage that
you've got if they have not signed you to an
extension by now? I mean, I guess you can. You
can say they've been faithful to you and they paid
you when you got hurt. Maybe you're in your darkest
hour where you you know that they could have moved

(06:45):
on then, but they decided not to, and they gave
you the deal that you're on now, a huge deal.
So he might he might feel some someonus to to
want to do right by them, even though he's put
himself in a position to really capitalize off the leverage
that he's got. And if he statistically plays the way

(07:08):
he has and then make the playoffs again, there will
be a market for him. If he hits free agency,
there will be a robust market for him. You don't
have to look any further than I mean, look what
Kirk Cousins is getting with the Atlanta Falcons. I mean,
he's coming off with torn Achilles, So there will be
a market if he makes it to free agency. On

(07:28):
the other side, of this, he just got to decide
is that in his best interest or would it be
better for him to stay in Dallas, stay at you know,
stay a cowboy where you can not only a part
of the most expensive franchise in sports in the world,
but also the opportunities that come along with that. And

(07:48):
then do you have deal with Jerry too, which probablys
a lot of fun, but at the same time it
could be a little bit, you know, a little crazy.
Grass isn't always greener, right LeVar?

Speaker 3 (07:56):
Yeah, I mean while listen to me, he would you know,
he knows that all too were by the way, were efforting. Uh,
you know, technical difficulties with bar so we are working
on that right now to get we are good to go.

Speaker 1 (08:07):
No, I'm here, No, I'm here to go. Yeah, I'm
here and and you know, yeah, great job.

Speaker 2 (08:12):
Jones just killed off people of the show left right.

Speaker 5 (08:17):
You know, I'm just gonna.

Speaker 6 (08:23):
Could they be killing off that Dak Prescott? Oh not
and not telling them that they're killing them up? You know,
the thing about sound bites from from people is you
really never know what the genuine true nature of what
someone feels.

Speaker 1 (08:40):
In this industry, right.

Speaker 6 (08:43):
You gotta you gotta play it the way that you
play it, and Jerry Jones has chosen not to extend
or give give him a new contract, and Dak Prescott
has to handle it and choose how he's going to
approach having a new contract.

Speaker 1 (09:02):
I think you said it right.

Speaker 6 (09:03):
They did give him a large, super large contract, even
after a very brutal injury to his lower part of
his leg.

Speaker 1 (09:15):
Going into this season. I think the one thing we
do know is that Jerry.

Speaker 6 (09:21):
Jones feels like his teams are underperforming. I think the
bigger question that resonates from that thought process is who's
to blame? And maybe he is looking at it from
the standpoint of it isn't Dak Prescott and I do

(09:41):
feel the same way that Dak Prescott or Dak Prescott
fans feel about Dak Prescott.

Speaker 1 (09:48):
But do you guys feel.

Speaker 6 (09:50):
As though, and this is just something that I was thinking,
do you feel as though the reason why they're not
doing all these deals, which I think they will do
the deal with Ceedee Lamb, they will do the deal
with Michael Parsons.

Speaker 1 (10:03):
Whether it's it's probably going to be next year, but
who knows. But do you think that this is making.

Speaker 6 (10:08):
Way for a new coach, and maybe a new coach
that would want to come in and shop for the
groceries that he would want if he were the cook
in the kitchen of the Dallas Cowboys. Now I reference
a former Patriots coach and the Big Tuna, because there
could be the possibilities or the.

Speaker 1 (10:31):
Idea of.

Speaker 6 (10:34):
Maybe could there be a Bill BELICHICKI whoops, I meant
Bill Parcells coaching tree. Well, I guess I gave it
away the punch line. It could be this could be
setting it up for Bill, you know, Bill Belichick to
come in and coach this team, if not another coach
to come in and coach this team.

Speaker 3 (10:55):
I don't think Belichick has any interest in wanting an
owner who's going to meddle in things like I don't.
I don't think he like as far as what he's
trying to pursue, like, I don't think he's got any
interest in that. If he's trying to break the all
time wins record and just have something that's copacetic between
him and the front office, Dallas doesn't seem like the one.

Speaker 5 (11:13):
And I would also.

Speaker 3 (11:14):
Say this, like, like what would be the pushback against
why they wouldn't want Dak Prescott back. And the only
thing could be like, well, they haven't won a super Bowl.
You can't win a super Bowl with Dak Prescott. Okay, well,
then why Dan Marino get paid? I mean, he didn't
win a super Bowl either, So if that's gonna be
how we judge.

Speaker 2 (11:31):
We went to super Bowls though, right, Well.

Speaker 3 (11:34):
But he went to one and it was like his
second year in the league. But if all we're going
to do is judge.

Speaker 6 (11:43):
I think that's a horrible that's a horrible though, and
that's one of the most He didn't win one.

Speaker 1 (11:51):
Yeah, but he also was.

Speaker 2 (11:52):
The one guy everyone was compared to. Even to this day,
people will look at the quarterback of the combine to
compare the throwing motion to Dan Marina.

Speaker 3 (12:00):
Okay, well people, that's a hard Well listen, people look
at the business of the NFL. They're going to compare
themselves to Dak Prescott. All right, he's going to get paid.
And the idea that that Dallas, the idea that the
Dallas Cowboys are going to be better off without him
at quarterback is preposterous. It doesn't even make sense, Like
what are the other I don't know, who.

Speaker 2 (12:20):
They're gonna get though, but are Yeah, let me maybe
maybe maybe Shoudor would be better. But let me go
back to this. Were you saying this Dak's rookie year
when they replaced Romo Dak? Like you didn't know you
had a veteran who had been there, who had been
to Pro Bowls, who had put up a lot of
stats in Tony Romo. How different? How different is where

(12:45):
Dak's at compared to where Tony Romo was?

Speaker 5 (12:48):
I think.

Speaker 2 (12:52):
I would say this. I think Dak's a better quarterback too,
But are they really any different? And didn't Tony take
him to like for deeper than the play?

Speaker 3 (13:01):
I don't. I don't recall. I mean, neither one of
them has gone very f No, he actually hasn't. No,
he he may have won the same Yeah, well, the
exact same, except for the fact that Dak was just
he was just voted second in the MVP race. Like
it's not like he's playing mediocre football and he's just
being bailed out by everybody around him. Like he's played
really good football and if he hits the open market,

(13:23):
he's going to get paid and he knows that. So
I just I don't understand what the pushback is from
Jerry Jones or people in Dallas that are like, no, no, no,
we have won a super Bowl with that guy. Okay,
well there's a lot of teams who don't win Super
Bowls every year. If that's gonna be how you judge
whether or not somebody deserves to get paid, I don't
get it, like it's just you're gonna.

Speaker 2 (13:44):
Tony Tony Romo has been to four Pro Bowls or
went to four Pro Bowls at his time. I mean,
I I just I feel I feel like they're very similar.
I feel like they're very similar in regards to you
know what, what people probably know how they probably look
at them. I mean, you tend to forget like Romo

(14:04):
played some really good football in his time too, and
that's It's not to take away from anything Dak's done.
They both floorted with five thousand yards at some point
in time in their career. I mean, Dak led what
the NFL and touchdown passes last year. Romo's led him
a completion percentage of other things about the course of
his career. I'm just I'm just saying there's an if

(14:24):
you go back to Romo was twenty fourteen season. I
think he was like third of them VP voting and
he was second team All Pro. Like they're they're they're
very comparable to one another. And the question probably becomes
for Tony, I would say they felt closer when he

(14:45):
was there. Then it's felt with this team. And I
don't know if that's a byproduct of who they have
to go up against. When we go into the season
and we say it's San Francisco, it's Philly and and
then maybe you'd say Dallas, you know, you start to
think about putting them in the mix. But it feels

(15:06):
like a pals in comparison compared to what's in the AFC,
in the competition they've got there. As far as the
expectations for those teams, I just I look at him
and go, he's been a really good quarterback. But how
different are your expectations about this team with Dak Prescott's
quarterback as compared to Tony Romo. I don't know that
they're that different.

Speaker 1 (15:26):
Here we go, We're gonna have to wait and see.

Speaker 5 (15:30):
Yeah, I guess so.

Speaker 3 (15:32):
Well, listen, we will keep you up to speed as
to whether or not Dak Prescott gets a contract extension done,
and we'll do so at some point throughout the course
of this show if that happens, because we've got up
until nine am Eastern time, six o'clock specific for it
to get done. We do want to point this out though,
that we can confirm right now here on the show, and.

Speaker 5 (15:48):
It's big for this show. It's a football Friday, Football Friday,
all right? Yeah?

Speaker 7 (15:55):
Come on, yeah, when.

Speaker 1 (16:07):
I'm finished, Friday Friday.

Speaker 7 (16:12):
Football come on?

Speaker 1 (16:16):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, come on?

Speaker 9 (16:21):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (16:22):
Can we can we do it? Can we do? Can
we do the old school one? Can we can we do?
Can we can we do this?

Speaker 2 (16:28):
Mo? Yeah?

Speaker 1 (16:29):
There you go? There you go.

Speaker 6 (16:31):
Friday night is a football Friday, Football Friday.

Speaker 2 (16:39):
Least afterwards, at least getting after it.

Speaker 5 (16:42):
What was the wo.

Speaker 6 (16:47):
It might have been one too many? LeVar islands. Man, Oh,
you know, I feel like Lee this morning.

Speaker 1 (16:55):
Call me LeVar the lap.

Speaker 5 (16:56):
No, Lee is Lee Spry. He's ready to go?

Speaker 6 (17:00):
Yeah, yeah, I said, you know, well we know the
leon talking about?

Speaker 8 (17:06):
Which which league are we talking about?

Speaker 2 (17:08):
How are you feeling?

Speaker 8 (17:10):
I'm feeling great.

Speaker 1 (17:12):
It's Friday.

Speaker 8 (17:13):
It's a football Friday.

Speaker 2 (17:15):
I'm good man, better than I thought you're gonna sound.

Speaker 5 (17:20):
Man, yeah, because because you were. You were licking the lid.

Speaker 3 (17:23):
Yesterday we got a body count in real time and
he was after it.

Speaker 5 (17:29):
Like you were.

Speaker 1 (17:30):
You were going.

Speaker 8 (17:32):
I was betting on the ponies yesterday. I was doing
good on the ponies.

Speaker 1 (17:37):
Man, were you betting on Shetland ponies?

Speaker 2 (17:40):
I was betting on the ponies yesterday?

Speaker 5 (17:42):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (17:43):
Yeah.

Speaker 8 (17:44):
What is it when when they when they have the
cart behind him, that's a oh yeah, not the trot,
but the damn there's the pace of the trot and
the oh man either way.

Speaker 5 (17:57):
Carness racing, Yeah, well yes, yeah, I was doing rate.

Speaker 1 (18:01):
Doesn't the joker do that?

Speaker 3 (18:02):
Let me tell you something, Lee, You were betting harness
racing on a Thursday after fifty cent Trifecta's baby my god.

Speaker 5 (18:12):
Yeah, you kind of screwed you, although I will give
you credit.

Speaker 3 (18:15):
You thought about Lorena because yesterday was National Chili Dog
Day and.

Speaker 5 (18:20):
You didn't have a chili dog?

Speaker 7 (18:22):
What you did?

Speaker 8 (18:23):
I was on my way. It was so hot out.
I was already sweating in my car and Lancers was
across the street and I was like, m but I
had a coupon. Lorena gave me a coupon. I did
for Schnitzel, and I looked at the coupon Good Good
through the thirty first eight dollars for two corn dogs,
two chili dogs, two chili cheese fries. That's gonna be it.

Speaker 5 (18:44):
All for eight dollars eight bucks.

Speaker 10 (18:46):
Damn no, No, he can use it during the weekend
while he's gone and not in the studio.

Speaker 5 (18:53):
Yeah, but yes, today is yesterday. I guess National Chili Day.

Speaker 7 (18:57):
Chili dog smart.

Speaker 5 (18:59):
Yeah, so I was afraid he was gonna come in
and yeah, by the way, that's a hell of a pair.

Speaker 1 (19:05):
It's not afraid to blow you up.

Speaker 3 (19:07):
That is a hell of Appaaringly, it was hot out yesterday,
so you would have had swamp ass and chili dog
as at the same time, in the middle of an
imax swamp ass.

Speaker 6 (19:16):
Last Well, man, I was getting the crowd going and
I started sweating and it was bad set.

Speaker 4 (19:37):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (19:37):
Well listen, I mean, you know, when you go to
rapid pace like that, it happens, that's for sure. It
is two pros and a cup of Joe. Here on

Well, if you don't get enough Covino and Rich, make
sure you check out over Promised and also Uncensored by

Speaker 3 (21:23):
Two Pros and a cup of Joe, Fox Sports Radio,
LaVar Arrington, Brady Quinn Jonas knocks with you coming up
little over fifteen minutes from now from the tire Rack
dot Com Studios. We do have somebody who's got an
idea on what could be a radical change in the
world of football that probably isn't going to sit well.

Speaker 5 (21:42):
With one member of the show.

Speaker 3 (21:43):
We'll get into that for you again a little over
fifteen minutes from now here on FSR oh no, so
uh oh, we're off a little bit of a rough start.
When it comes to one quarterback in the NFL, that
quarterback would be Russell Wilson. Welcome with calf tightness yesterday
and missed the Steelers first training camp practice, so Justin

(22:07):
Fields took all the first team reps.

Speaker 5 (22:09):
Here was Mike Tomlin.

Speaker 3 (22:10):
Here was Mike Tomlin, the head coach of the Steelers,
talking about Russ and the issue.

Speaker 13 (22:16):
You know, starts aren't always ideal, but that's like life.

Speaker 1 (22:20):
Man.

Speaker 13 (22:21):
Russ woke up today. Man, his calf was tight. It
was my decision to sit him down today, create a
little short term discomfort for him, not allowing a small
problem to become a bigger problem. He could be characterized
as day to day. But on the flip side of that,
it was an awesome opportunity for Justin and a challenge
for an offensive unit to deal with a little adversity
at the outset.

Speaker 3 (22:42):
He just got there and first training camp practice already
deal with the calf issue.

Speaker 5 (22:47):
Oh no, less an ideal, by would say.

Speaker 2 (22:50):
You know, said Johns, what you want to say?

Speaker 5 (22:53):
I just it feels like.

Speaker 3 (22:57):
Russ maybe not the same Russ that he was years ago,
which well, yeah, T see, you don't think that that's
something to be concerned with. First training camp practice and
he wakes up with a tight calf, Like how you

(23:17):
waken up with a tight calf?

Speaker 1 (23:19):
I mean, dude, that's just yeah.

Speaker 3 (23:21):
I mean, I don't have calves, so maybe I'm not
the best to speak on the subject.

Speaker 5 (23:25):
But already he's there.

Speaker 3 (23:28):
He's a veteran quarterback coming off an injury season last
year and a benching last year, and I just wonder,
is this sort of a prelude as to what the
season could look like? And what if this continues to
nag him during training camp and Justin Filz goes out
there and plays well, like based on what they're paying him. Like,
it's not like it's a foregone conclusion that that that's

(23:50):
Russ's job. I just think it opened up the door
and opened up the possibility for him to lose his spot,
one that was basically granted to him by Mike Tomlin
that he was in the pole position when he got there.

Speaker 2 (24:02):
The season cannot come soon enough. It cannot come soon
enough in Pittsburgh. For this reason, people who are in
sports talk radio, are gonna do exactly what Jonas is
doing right now. Every single time guys Russell Wilson just
throw an incompletion. I think it's opened the door for
John Fields to take over. That's how this is gonna go.

Speaker 6 (24:23):
Like, I mean, they did that, would they did that,
would pick it? Yeah, they did that, would pick it?
And Mason Rudolph they did the same thing.

Speaker 2 (24:32):
It's it's gonna be the most annoying thing until we
get to the season, and even once we get in
the season, until he has a six touchdown game. It's
gonna continue. They have they have not done Russell any favors,
probably by saying that he was in the pole position,
I think is the exact verbiage for Mike Tomlin only
because pole assassin. Where's By the way, she just got wetted.

(24:56):
She just got married. Did you see that?

Speaker 1 (24:58):
Really?

Speaker 2 (24:59):
Yeah, she just got married. Someone put a ring on
that thing, you know, hey man? You know And now
I do not have confirmed sources, but I have been
I have heard the monkey, her pet monkey that spit
someone before it was the potential ring bear ring bearer. Yeah. Wow.

Speaker 3 (25:20):
By the way, shout out to the Daily Mail what
a headline Texas football coach Mary's his stripper girlfriend named
poul As ascin tang?

Speaker 2 (25:29):
How do you like that? LeVar? About that for curt events?
How about them apples?

Speaker 6 (25:33):
Listen, all I'm gonna say is is if that's your name,
your stage name, good for that Texas coach? You know why,
because if they can assassinate a poll, well he's got
a lot in com We all know the punch line.

Speaker 7 (25:48):
To that one.

Speaker 2 (25:49):
Yeah, I digress, though, I digress. People are gonna do
exactly what Jonas has done for the entirety of the
training camp, preseason into the.

Speaker 5 (25:59):
Seas and I take offense to that.

Speaker 2 (26:02):
I mean, take whatever you want from I'm sing honest,
like you were doing exactly what people are gonna do
with the situation. And it's almost as if what was
the point of having both there? I know, the quarterback
situation they went to address, they did it twofold, but
now it potentially put themselves in position where like Mike Tommin,

(26:23):
who's I think a hell of a head coach. If
anyone could deal with drama or anyone can deal with stuff,
he can. But yeah, it sounds like somebody just blow
up for a second.

Speaker 6 (26:33):
No, I open, I opened my water bottle. Don't don't
worry about it. My mouth, my mouth is drafted.

Speaker 5 (26:39):
Live from the center of an S three. The set
of twisters.

Speaker 2 (26:46):
Happing over there a wind tunnel. No, I'm good, Okay,
dang now what it's just it's blowing up over there.

Speaker 6 (26:57):
I don't know what you know, it's it's my device today.
We just got to get through today with this device.
That's all, you know. So just work with me, and
just like working with your quarterbacks. You know you got
a dual quarterback system. I think you make a very
very valid point. You look at it as you have
depth by having both fields and Russ Russell Wilson. But

(27:22):
does that create that type of pool in one direction
to the next, Because just like they could do that
to Russell Wilson, they could do it to Justin fields.
Justin Fields gets in. It's like they should be playing
Russ Russell Wilson gets in. They should be playing justin fields.
It's interesting that that Mike Tomlin used the word deal
with adversity and Russell Wilson not practicing in that practice

(27:48):
and saying that he's day to day if he's got
a tight calf muscle and he's day to day. I
just you know, to me, I'm trying to decipher what
is the adversity in that? Is it because Russe was
taking the first first series first team reps during during

(28:09):
the spring, during during the training camps or the O
T the mini camps and the O tas.

Speaker 1 (28:14):
What what is the adverse situation here?

Speaker 6 (28:17):
And and to me that might have told me how
much he believes in Russell Wilson as being the head guy,
the hit, the starting guy for this team. And what
does that mean for for Justin Fields and in his
you know, in his movement to try to be that
guy on this team. Nonetheless, it still gives Justin Fields

(28:39):
the opportunity to do what's most important, which is when
the soldiers, you gotta win, you gotta win.

Speaker 1 (28:44):
With the army.

Speaker 6 (28:46):
If he earns his if he earns some trust with
with whatever it is that Russell Wilson is dealing with.
If if Justin Fields is the one that is taking
these reps during the preseason, again, I think that that's
going to turn into to a very very interesting scenario.
As as you mentioned, Q, because it's it's not it's

(29:06):
not a stable position it hasn't been a stable position
since Ben Roethlisberger. So it just it goes to in
my estimation, it does go right into that conversation of
a lot of controversy and need I say, for as
much success as Mike Mike Tomlin has had as a

(29:29):
head coach of this team, for some strange reason, he's
always under fire from the fan base. The fan base
always has something to say about how Mike Tomlin is
coaching or what his results are. And if this team
is not winning and yet you're not you're not figuring
it out, who's settling in.

Speaker 1 (29:51):
As your quarterback?

Speaker 6 (29:53):
That you would have to assume that that becomes a
leverage piece for the media and for fans if they're
further in that narrative of is Mike Tomlin the coach
for this team? So this could be a pretty interesting scenario.

Speaker 3 (30:08):
I do have a therapeutic idea for Russell Wilson. All Right,
So training campus in Latrobe a home of Rolling Rock.

Speaker 5 (30:15):
So here's what you do.

Speaker 3 (30:16):
You run down to the Rolling Rock headquarters, get yourself
They if they sell sixteen or twenty two's, that's fine,
get yourself a bomber A twenty two ice cold in
a glass rolling rock. Throw that in the freezer, Let
that bad boy sit in there for about twenty minutes,
and then roll out that calf. And then once you're
done rolling out your calf in the humidity.

Speaker 5 (30:37):
There in Pennsylvania.

Speaker 3 (30:39):
Yeah, but by the time you're done going through your exercise,
slam that twenty two a rolling rock glass line tanks
of Latrobe, Pa.

Speaker 5 (30:47):
Hell yeah, and then get that wark.

Speaker 2 (30:51):
Get that that work.

Speaker 1 (30:53):
That work.

Speaker 2 (30:54):
On a serious note, I would like to draw attention
to the fact that it doesn't have who it's gonna be.
There's gonna be the back and forth the entire season,
depending on how Mike Tomin sets the tone for whoever starts.
So let's say Russell Wilson stays in the pole position.
All right, again, congrats to the pole assassin, but stays

(31:17):
in the pole position to start the season.

Speaker 5 (31:19):
Here comes a bride and or monkey.

Speaker 7 (31:22):
Do oh no?

Speaker 2 (31:24):
If if there's a short leash, or they pull out
the rug from underneath Russell Wilson. After I don't know,
two games, three games, what do you think it's gonna
happen to justin fields? If he goes in there it's
something similar. Then there's gonna be the whole back and forth,
the whole thing. I mean, it could, it could be
a potential disaster. That's the hard part about getting into

(31:47):
an NFL season having to have multiple quarterbacks do that
to a degree. You saw that last year with the team,
and I think that's the last thing you want as
a fan base. The last thing you want if you're
Mike Tomlin too, is to probably have to do with
that two years in a row. So that's the other
part of all. This is the whole quarterback competition thing.
It's great in theory. At one point, you got to

(32:09):
pick your guy. The team's got to know, you've got
to know, and then you've got to give that guy
enough time to be in there and play free. If
you are constantly having him think that, I don't want
to make a mistake here, and he's gotta check down,
he's got to throw the football away because he's worried
about throwing into a tight window. He's worried about making

(32:31):
a mistake because if he makes a few mistakes, he's out.
If you do that, I'm telling you you're not gonna
get the best version of either of these guys. And
that's the problem with where they're at right now, so
we'll see how it all plays out, but I it's
it'll be interesting to see what happens based on how
the first three games go this season.

Speaker 3 (32:51):

Speaker 5 (34:09):
But we turn it over to our executive producer, Lead Lap.

Speaker 8 (34:13):
Good morning everybody. Good morning Jonas, Good morning, Brady, Good morning, LeVar. Guys,
thish uh thank you of our uh big ten media days.
Lincoln Riley, of course, head coach of the US, he
was asked about what he thinks about keeping the rivalry
alive between USC and Notre Dame. Take a listen.

Speaker 2 (34:31):
I would love to.

Speaker 1 (34:32):
I would love to.

Speaker 14 (34:33):
I know, I know it means you know a lot
to a lot of people, and so the again, the
purest in you, no doubt. Now, if you get in
a position where you got to make a decision on
what's best for SC to help US win a national
championship versus keeping that shoot, then then you got to
look at it. I mean and listen, we're not the

(34:54):
first example of that. Look all the way across the country,
there's been a lot of other teams sacrifice rivalry. I'm
not saying that's what's going to happen, but you know,
as we get into this playoff structure and if it
changes not we in this new conference, like, we're going
to learn some about this as we go and what
the right and the best track is, you know, to

(35:14):
winning a national championship.

Speaker 5 (35:16):
I'm with him.

Speaker 2 (35:17):
I mean, yeah, well, let me let me ask this.
Can you guys explain for me how would it impact
their ability to make the playoff because they'd lose. Is
that is that what they're concerned by.

Speaker 1 (35:30):
I don't know.

Speaker 5 (35:30):
I don't think we need to.

Speaker 2 (35:31):
I'm just opposing the question only because you have opportunities
for non conference games, Like I guess you're yeah, you're
openly admitting that you just rather would schedule a cupcake
if that's what you're looking for, which, by the way,
it's still too early on to know what exactly the
committee is going to a prize or award. I would

(35:54):
imagine if you've got a twelve team playoff, outside of
the four teams that you know win their confidence and
get buys, the other eight most likely we're going to
have their schedule looked at heavily, and they would pick
a team that's scheduled a tougher non conference opponent than not.
So it's just based on the tradition between the two
schools and the history there. I would be shocked if

(36:18):
Southern Cal turned it down, and if they did, it
would be incredibly unfortunate not only for the rival in
the history, but also the game of college football. But
if that's the direction they want to go, I think
you're talking about literally hitting a low point as a
Southern Cal fan.

Speaker 3 (36:33):
Well, I just think that you know, they're in the
Big ten now, they've probably outgrown the rivalry. If we're
going to be honest, like sooner or later, you got
outgrow stuff, and I think maybe they've just you know
what I mean.

Speaker 1 (36:42):
I don't know, see trying to get you see trying to.

Speaker 3 (36:45):
Get I just I support Lincoln Riley in his efforts
a Southern col trojan.

Speaker 6 (36:49):
This isn't in case you missed it segment. It's not
a debate Segmentrow he could take.

alcohol sales at sporting events in France. In fact, the
most expensive thing is a non alcoholic beer.

Speaker 2 (37:25):
How are you just not finding out about this.

Speaker 5 (37:29):
It's never been to France.

Speaker 1 (37:30):

Speaker 5 (37:32):
Apparently you could do it.
