so there's so much going on. But before we get going, Jeff,
(01:50):
I got to ask you, man, how you doing. How's
everything going? How was your weekend? Man? How things go?
Speaker 2 (01:53):
I think it was great, Hope we know what tune out?
You know, we don't want to have people tune out
for the because Brady and Jonas are here. Because we
got two pros right here talking about sports.
Speaker 1 (02:02):
It still is two pros.
Speaker 2 (02:03):
That is two pros. Yes, it was great. You know,
the weather was nice here in North Carolina, and you know,
spend a lot of time in the pool, watched a
lot of sports. There's a lot of variety of sports.
No football, I mean it's in the USFL every now
and then, you know, got a basketball and baseball, softball.
It was a good weekend, man, and you know, made
some money last night in the basketball game.
Speaker 1 (02:24):
Nice.
Speaker 2 (02:25):
You know, it's good to a little, good little week.
I glad to be here with you talking sports.
Speaker 1 (02:28):
Indeed, that's Jeff Schwartz, I'm LeVar Arrington. It's two pros
and a cup of Joe. I mean, bro, the NBA
Finals took place last night. It looked as though everything
that has been being discussed. Outmatched, outmanned, just not better,
was the deal. Early on in that game, the Nuggets
(02:50):
climbed up to I think they got to a fifteen
point lead, yes, at one point in time, and they
blew it. They blew it. They were at home. They
seemingly were going to cruise to a nice two oh
set against the Miami Heat. But the grit, the shooting,
(03:12):
I mean, they weren't. They weren't cold in this game.
They struggled to shoot a little bit more in Game one.
This one, they seemed to be able to find the
rim from from downtown. They were shooting confidently. They looked
like they were playing loose. They were playing the type
of basketball that Spoe has become known to be able
(03:38):
to guide his guys. Jeff, where Miami just kind of
had this Well, I don't give a damn approach. In fact,
here's Jimmy Butler. He had some things to say about it,
and we'll continue the conversation.
Speaker 3 (03:51):
I just think nobody cares on our team. We're not
worried about what anybody thinks. We're so focused in on
what we do well and who we are as a
group that at the end of the day, that's what
we fall back on, make or misshots. We're gonna be
who we are because we're not worried about anybody else.
It's how it's been all year long, and that's not
gonna change. So that's what I think it is. I
(04:12):
think it's I don't give a damn factor.
Speaker 1 (04:15):
What do you think about that, Jeff, I don't think
you have a damn factor?
Speaker 2 (04:18):
Yeah, I mean I agree with him. I don't think
they're intimated or worried or scared about Denver. But I
want my favorite teams, LaVar to have the magic that
the Heat get in some of these games. Like want
I need my favorite teams to be able to play
like the Heat and not be phased, but also shoot
fifty percent from a three pointer. Like we could talk
(04:39):
about all the things that maybe Denver didn't do right
or the way the heat. I thought the Heat defensively
just kind of got in the face of Denver and
challenge them a little bit more. But they shot nearly
fifty percent from three. It was about fifty percent, so
about three minutes left in the game. You're gonna win
most games, LaVar, if you shoot fifty percent from the
three point, yes you are. And again there's no rhyme
(05:01):
or reason to why that is. Right, mean, Caleb Martin,
who was the star of the Eastern Conference Finals, had
three points, right like the guy that we expected. And
all of a sudden, here's Gay Vincent with twenty three points.
Max Shrews, who I think we all thought would shoot better.
He added four to three points after finishing oh for
ten in game one. These these other players, other guys
in the Heat, are stepping up game to game, and
(05:23):
you don't know who it's gonna be from time to time.
And they shoot and again, you should fifty percent from three,
no matter home away, You're gonna win a lot of
your games. And it came down to that they shot better,
they made better shots, they got fouled on how many
three pointers in this game?
Speaker 1 (05:35):
Like it was, there were a lot of mistakes. There
were some mistakes that were being made by Denver for certain.
Speaker 2 (05:41):
And you know we could say that he called I'm
not even sure it's he culture, right, they just have
in some of these games. You watch them play and
you're like, yeah, they're clearly not the better team. Doesn't matter, obviously,
they're playing better than Denver last night, and Denver is
to your point, they had a chance to really put
the series away, right, I mean up to you're up
two to oh, you haven't lost at home, and they
have opportunity to do so. And their defense was bad
(06:03):
in the fourth quarter, which at times it's been bad
this year. And I'm just gonna stop the heat. I
think he missed only four or five shots in the
fourth quarter. They couldn't miss and man, credit to them,
they find they could continue to find a way to
uh to disrupt teams, to force bad turnovers, to just
(06:23):
play kind of that gritty style of ball that that
you know, I believe in sports, LaVar, if you put
in the work right and you play with with with
an effort that's unmatched, you know, things go your way.
I don't believe in luck so much. I could believe
if you kind of make your own luck. Right, Like,
if you if you do the right things, if you
prepare the right way, if you play the right way,
good things happen to you. Not always true, obviously, but
(06:46):
that's what's happening with Heat right now. Like they prepare
the right way, they they they make adjustments the right way,
and things sort of happened that. But I did think
their defense, I think it was very noticeable that they
were up in the face much earlier in the possession,
in the face of of Nuggets players disrupting them. Obviously,
Murray didn't have his best game. A Joker was great.
(07:06):
Michael port Juni didn't play terribly well. So Nuggets have
ways to improve, but he just keep doing it. LeVar,
I don't know how, man, they keep doing it well.
Speaker 1 (07:14):
I'll say this, in this game, it looked like the
adjustments that took place, Jeff were to say, Okay, it
was don't let joker beat us, make everybody else beat us, right,
don't don't let joker beat us. I think in this
game you saw a scenario play out where it was like,
(07:35):
don't let everybody else beat us.
Speaker 2 (07:38):
Yeah, And that's happened over the years, right, I mean
I'm a Laker fan. I remember, I think it was
all the way when they lost that that that Detroit series,
and it was like, we're gonna let Coy was, They're
gonna let Shock you whatever he wants, and no one else, Michae,
We'll just make sure who's like Shaki get forty whatever.
We're not gonna let Kobe get forty. We're just not
gonna let him score. We're gonna put all the pressure
(07:59):
on everyone else. Shot gets his. And we saw last
night with with Jokers. Say he hit forty one points. Man,
most times he scored forty one points, they're gonna win.
But yeah, Murray had eighteen. Didn't play terrible. It's up
to the standard.
Speaker 1 (08:10):
No other players broke twenty. Think about that. No other
players broke twenty and scoring in this game. So it
said to me, you know what, let Joker get his
forty one. We're gonna come out and shoot with that.
I don't give a damn mentality, And we're going to
play defense and we're going to force bad shots. We're
going to force discomfort to everybody. Every even they even
(08:33):
had Joker fighting to get to where he needed to be.
Like a lot of the things that Joker does could
be offensive files. I mean, let's be clear here, like
they they let the Joker beat up on dudes at
times during during the course of games. But yes, but
the one thing that I noticed was it was like, Okay,
let's make it hard on these other guys. Aaron Gordon
(08:54):
hit you for twelve, He needed to give you a
little more. Michael Porter, Mike Porter, he didn't play well
like that? What five points?
Speaker 2 (09:04):
Points?
Speaker 1 (09:04):
Yeah, you know, and the next closest was Murray with
with eighteen. And that's a that's a solid contribution. But
when you're playing in in the NBA Finals, you gotta
your your stars, your big dogs got to come out
like they got to come out. They got to make plays,
they got to create, create opportunity, create opportunities. Caltwell, Pope
(09:28):
is still missing from the playoffs. I would have thought
he would have had a more breakout game yesterday. It's
now two games in a row where he's been relatively
quiet and and too silent really in the game and
not really have too much of an impact on the game.
And so for me, I thought it was interesting because
the one guy that really is jumping out at you
(09:51):
during the course of these playoffs is Gabe Vincent. Yeah,
his quickness, his ability to create space. Uh, and he's
knocking down big shots for this team and it's actually
it actually made a tremendous difference in last night's game
his presence on the game. So, I mean, I think
(10:12):
the value proposition here is moving forward if your thought
process as the Miami Heat is to neutralize everyone else
and whether the storm with Joker, I wonder is is
this one of those deals where Miami may have cracked
the code on how you're able to beat a team
(10:32):
as physically gifted and as talented with a Joker on
which is the best player and all of the NBA.
If you ask me if you have that right now?
Is that the code? Have you cracked the code on them.
Speaker 2 (10:47):
For this game? You did, Lavoie right? And I want
to see the adjustments that that Denver makes now. But
sometimes as simple as just making your shots, right, I
mean you mentioned it, Coywell Pope six points one for
three from from three. Michael Porter won for six from
three with five points. It's like you get couple more
and three from those guys and you win the game, right,
Like it's not they're not that far off from being
up too. Oh but the Heat also, and I respect again,
(11:09):
how just different guys every night sort of become the
number one option at times. I mean, Ducan Robinson's had
ten points in what two minutes? The only ten points
you scored, and that ten points got the Heat the league.
I mean, Denver hasn't had any of those players yet
in this series, and that is gonna it will hold
(11:30):
them back. I think they eventually win the series, but
the Heat continue to have those players step up and
other teams don't. And that's a big reason why the
Heat are where they are right now. And so Denver's
gonna need someone, whether it's Porter, whether it's it's called Well,
but whether it's Brown like someone other than Murray or
(11:51):
Joker from the three point line is going to have
to be a difference maker either Game three or Game
four to come back to Denver feeling good about where
you are the series. I don't know who that guy's
gonna be, LeVar. I imagine it's probably needs to be Colwell, Poper,
Michael Boor Jr. But someone else has to be the
guy who they say, Okay, thank you for your twenty
(12:13):
points tonight. And your four to three pointers. They need someone,
need someone to do that. That's not their main two guys,
and they haven't had that yet.
Speaker 1 (12:19):
M all right, that's Jeff Schwartz. I'm LeVar Arrington. This
is two Pros and a Cup of Joe coming up
next yep, live from the tire rack dot Com studios.
We'll talk a little puck. We'll get a little pucking

of the Stanley Cup Finals right now, the Golden Knights,
(12:43):
Well they're they're on top right now, so we'll we'll
talk a little bit about that, and maybe we'll get
a couple of tips from you, Jeff on maybe how
to bet it. I know you're not a hockey specialist,
but maybe maybe you might want to talk Maybe hit
them with a little zinger, you know, put little cash
in somebody's pocket. All right, it's two Pros and a
(13:04):
cup of Joe. We'll be right back Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 1 (16:13):
All right, all right, all right, welcome back into two
Pros and a Cup of Joe. I'm LeVar Arrington, joined
by my guy Jeff Schwartz. We're going to guide you
guys through Jonas will be back tomorrow. Just in case
anybody was panicking up. Yeah, yeah, you know, he had
(16:34):
an extended weekend. Jonas doesn't take vacations very often, if ever,
and for some strange reason, I think we were able
to convince him to start taking a few days off.
It's you know, it's one of those things, it's a
rite of passage. So and and Brady is taking a
little bit of time as well. You know, we talked
(16:54):
about how they were suspended last week. That was a
bit They're really not suspended, of course not. Yeah, some
people take things so literal.
Speaker 2 (17:05):
I thought they were suspended.
Speaker 1 (17:07):
I mean maybe a few people thought that. Maybe they
were like, what's going on here, and you know, nothing's
going on. It's just that time of the year where
there's a ton going on in sports, and we need
to make sure that Brady and Jonas are here to
be able to talk about those things. That's that's where
we're at in sports right now today. You know, like
this date right now.
Speaker 2 (17:27):
You know, do you take a big family summer vacation.
Speaker 1 (17:31):
I generally do not. I try to. I have historically
taken big family vacations, but lately, as of late, I've
just been in the trenches, man, and you know, just
trying to be this super dope media person. So I
just kind of, you know, just you know, just just
have been working. So you yeah, man, But all right,
(17:54):
let's let's get into speaking of families. The Mulu family
they're probably happy right now. Uh. The Golden Knights, you know,
the Vegas Golden Knights, you know, they they win Game
one versus the Florida Panthers, as as our boy Q
would say, the kiats uh they took it on the chin.
(18:15):
It was a five to two game on Saturday night.
You know, five different players getting getting scores. It was interesting.
Obviously the Cats came in they had some great hockey play,
great goalie play coming into the series, and that was
going to be the biggest question. Would the Golden Knights
be able to you know, crack that code of of
(18:38):
what was taking place with uh with the goalie for
for Florida. So with that being being said, they were able,
uh to get get going Aiden Hill, he continued to
have some strong play. What what was your what was
your takeaway from from them being able to to get
(18:59):
you know, get yeah.
Speaker 2 (19:02):
I mean I think that, you know, the layoff the
Panthers had certainly kind of hurt their mojo at goalie
right like they had It was the longest layoff between
a finals and a Cup in history, right, it was
like eleven ten eleven days. I feel like when you
have a hot goalie as they had through the first
three rounds, like you want to play immediately right, Like
(19:24):
you would just say you want to keep that thing
going day off, let's start the Cup. And when you
have a long layoff like that, I think it's hard
to kind of keep that that confidence and that feeling going.
And then it was tied at two in one hundred
and third period and the Nights scored three correct and
I I I mean the Nights are just better. I
(19:45):
mean sometimes in the end of again I say this
whole time, like the better team just ends up winning
and some of that mojo. We've seen this throughout throughout
all of sports, when the kind of the underseated team
ends up getting the lower seat understad but the lower
seat team ends up getting to this this part of
the postseason, they have just trouble. Look, the heat didn't
last night obviously, so I'm a little bit wrong with
(20:06):
the NBA there. But the Panthers, you know, they were,
they snuck in the playoffs. They've been great all postseason.
But that's the better team. Sometimes the better team, levarg
just ends up winning the series because they have a
deeper bench than their fourth lines playing well the Nights are,
and the goaltending for the Panthers might have dried up
over the ten day the ten day break Sergei Bobrowski.
Speaker 1 (20:30):
He's the man, he's the myth, he's the legend. Does
he get on track? It almost seems as though they
got to protect the crease. Guys gotta be bold, they
gotta be brave. Uh has to to bring his a game.
I just wonder can they with them being better. We
(20:51):
just had a first segment where we talked about a
team that is clearly outmatched, over manned, but they still
found a way to not only win the game, but
they want They won the game on on Denver's home court.
Is I mean, is this just a matter of one
of those those types of same situations, same scenarios where
(21:11):
you see a team that isn't maybe quite as talented,
maybe overmatched by by their opponent. But but with stellar
I feel like with stellar goalie play and with more
aggression defensively, being more agitative, being being a little bit
more aggressive on the defensive side of the ice, I
(21:34):
think that can make the difference where they may not
be able to get maybe the point production that's necessary
to be able to keep up with the Golden Knights
if they were to play it any differently. Maybe I'm
reading it wrong, Maybe I'm seeing it wrong. You know,
I didn't watch the entire game, but I did watch
a good deal of it, and it did looked evenly matched.
(21:55):
They did look evenly matched out there on the ice.
I don't I don't see that not you know, in
the early early periods. But yeah, they did break away
and the third what what you think needs to take
place for Florida to be able to get back into
this series to today?
Speaker 2 (22:12):
I mean, I think you need the goaltending to go
back to what it was in the previous series, right,
Like you need that to be kind of where you
are as a team because offensively, you're not gonna score
as much, right they mean, they're they're they're a defensive
minded team and you have to play that way too
to win the series in my opinion. Yeah, and you're
on the road again obviously. By the way, do you
(22:34):
see the Vegas. The Vega Stuts have the best pregame show.
It's like it's like being at at what's the Okay,
I'm getting a brain fart here on the place where
they where they do those shows before on the horses
and stuff. I can't remember medieval times times before before
the game they are they are they are into it. Man,
(22:57):
it's fun. It's hockey is I've only been a couple
of times. I got luckily to go to a bunch
of the Rangers postings and games in twenty fourteen when
they went to the Cup, I was with the Giants.
Then to hockey in person, especially the playoffs.
Speaker 1 (23:09):
That's what everybody is saying. I mean, I'm going to
hockey games. I've never been to a playoff game. They
say the playoff Dude, the playoffs is pretty crazy.
Speaker 2 (23:18):
Playoffs is like, is tons of fun. I was there
when the Rangers clinch Eastern Conference Final. Dude, it's intense.
It's just the actions NonStop. There's not a lot of
commercial breaks. You know, not to say the players don't
care in other sports, but you kind of feel like
that that hatred between the players during the game. Yeah, which,
(23:38):
by the way, this game had a fight, like four
or five minutes in. The Panthers had a short handed goal,
which I then I kind of thought when they scored
early on the short handed goal like that, the you know,
the magic's back right from the first two runs of
the first three series, and just it stopped in the
third period, so they can get that back and have
the same goal tanning they had in the previous previous
(24:00):
couple series.
Speaker 1 (24:01):
They should be fine, all right, sources say Josh Harris,
he sees committee about commander sale. But before we get
to that, we're gonna go to my man, Edmund Guardcia
for what's trending and sports. What's you got, Eddie?
Speaker 6 (24:16):
Well, of course, we have to start with Game number
two of the NBA Finals, with the Heat knocking off
the Nuggets one eleven to one oh eight in Denver.
Miami's down fifteen in the second quarter, rally back outscored
the Nuggets on the road in the fourth quarter thirty
six to twenty five to get that win. Gave Vincent
twenty three points, Jimmy Butler and bam Adebadio each had
(24:36):
twenty one points, and then win from Miami four Denver.
Nicoliog it's another big game forty one points, eleven rebounds,
but not enough to get his team to win. Denver
seven game winning streak this postseason and their undefeated streak
at home nine to zero coming into this game all
gone and the series is tied a one to one.
Game three Wednesday in Miami. In baseball games, we know
you had the Rays beat the Red Sox six to two.
(24:58):
Tampa May now major league best four forty two to nineteen.
Rangers roll over the Mariners twelve to three. Nathan Valdi
for Texas six shoutout innings on one hit. He gets
his eighth to win of the year. Hats tied for
the major league lead. Yankees score four runs off the
LA bullpen beat the Dodgers on the road four to one.
The Braves get a Eddie Rosario Grand Slam of the
ninth beat the Diamondbacks eight to five, so LA in
(25:19):
Arizona still tied for the NL West lead. He had
the Brewers beating the Reds five to one, while the
Pirates won their fifth straight sweep the Cardinals with a
two to one win. But it's still Milwaukee by one
game on Pittsburgh in the NL Central. Orioles down the
Giants eight to three. Blue Jays wrap up a sweep
of the Mets with a six to four win. Despite
Pete Alonzo hitting his major leg leading twenty first home
run of the year for New York, and the Twins
(25:39):
lose at home to the Guardians two to one. Now
back to Jeff Schwartz and LaVar Arrington in the Tirak
dot com Fox Sports Radio Studios.
Speaker 1 (25:46):
Appreciate you, Eddie. Did you know that artificial turf on
football fields causes thirty two percent more non contact knee injuries?
American grass sea company Pennington is on a mission to
ban turf fields with their hashtag flip the Turf movement.
So go to Pennington dot com slash flip the Turf
now to learn more and sign the petition for teams
(26:08):
to hashtag flip the turf to real grass. Speaking of
real grass versus fake artificial grass, transitioning to a little
bit of football talk, Josh Harris, as confirmed and discussed
by ESPN staff writer John Kime, says that Harris, who
has reached an agreement to by the Washington Commanders last month,
(26:32):
we'll meet with the NFL's finance committee Wednesday. Multiple sources
have confirmed that it's another step towards a possible vote
by the NFL owners to approve the sale this summer.
Now that's pretty interesting, Jeff, because well, the sooner that
this can take place, I would assume the quicker the
(26:57):
Washington Commanders and that fan base and community and team
and staff can move forward. I just I'm curious with
this meeting of the finances. I don't know how deep
your you know, your knowledge of all of this goes,
So maybe I won't get too far in the weeds
as to what the implications of this meeting represent. I
(27:20):
would say that they want to get Dan out and
get moving forward with new ownership more than anything, if
we were just trying to kind of sum it up
without getting too deep into the details. But it sounds
like they're trying to speak that process.
Speaker 2 (27:36):
Up right for fifteen years.
Speaker 7 (27:37):
Now, trying to get there right, like there's not anything
new and after all, you have to make sure you
know the vetting process and whatnot makes sense it works
financially right, because you don't want to get a situation
where you have almost like a Frank.
Speaker 2 (27:53):
McCourt, where you know you have a new owner and
then then you realize that the money they have isn't real.
It's all tied up in somewhere else, is right, you know,
So like the veting process, you want, you know, to
make that is as thorough as possible. So I'm all
for that, But I think you want to enter the
season obviously with the new ownership right and with a
with a path forward where your fans are more involved,
(28:16):
more engaged. I would imagine that, you know, there's gonna
be talking about new stadium, there's gonna be talk about,
you know, positive potentially changing the name of the franchise again.
They got rid of Commander Commanders is terrible. You got
to fix it. It's not something else, just something even
football team was fine to me, like just something else.
I can imagine, you know, a new rebranding again, a
new stadium. They're gonna want.
Speaker 1 (28:37):
You think they're going to change the name.
Speaker 2 (28:40):
I don't know you're gonna say with Commanders.
Speaker 1 (28:43):
I mean I would say, once they changed it and
went to Commanders, I almost feel like you got to
stay with it. I don't know that you change it again.
Speaker 2 (28:54):
It's a lot of movement very quickly. But do you
like Commanders?
Speaker 1 (29:01):
I'm indifferent? Okay, I'll say I'm indifferent.
Speaker 2 (29:04):
Fuck you should have a vote, right, I mean yours.
Speaker 1 (29:06):
You No, I don't. I don't need no vote. I
do love the fan, but I will say this. I
can't wait to I mean, I'm probably nobody even knows
who I am at this point. I've been out since
two thousand and six. And two thousand and five was
my last year and Washington, so nobody probably even remember.
We didn't do very much winning your Commander's legend. Come on,
(29:30):
Skins is the team I played for. Even though you're
not allowed to say that anymore.
Speaker 2 (29:34):
You did play for that.
Speaker 1 (29:35):
I still have to be able to say what team,
what what company? I vote for?
Speaker 2 (29:39):
No, you're finding no one, No one's knocking for that.
You're about to say this, and it's very true. Washington
fans are very passionate about their tests. They are and
most places are that way. Right when I was in
the NFL, we played them in twenty twelve at at
FedEx Field, and Fenex Field is huge, by the way,
(29:59):
a huge tadium. It seats over ninety thousand win full,
which again that's more of a college vibe than NFL vibe.
A lot of NFL stadiums aren't that big, right, the
seats over ninety thousand, and I was with the Vikings
and it was RG three's rookie season and that was
the game where he had that seventy yard run to
win the game. That place was rocking, dude. I have
(30:22):
the fans there were so happy to have a winner
like you can just see the reaction on that touchdown run,
just the excitement and the passion and like, oh my god,
we have ourselves, finally after all these years, a legitimate team,
and I have I have personal friends that are that
are Commanders fans now, and they're so excited for the
(30:46):
newness and just to have Snyder gone, a fresh start,
to not be embarrassed by your owner, not be embarrassed
by your franchise, and to just have this fresh start
as Commanders. They're going to come back fast. Man. Obviously
you have to win, and I'm a question whether Sam
how's a guy quarterback from the win this year. But
week one with a new owner, Man, you're gonna the
(31:08):
fans are gonna be there. They're gonna come back and
be Commanders fans and be proud to wear their jerseys,
be proud to beat the game, and proud to root
for the team again.
Speaker 1 (31:18):
Yeah. There's a lot of feelings and a lot of
emotions attached to this for me, even though I've been
gone for so long. But one thing that has always
rang true and remained true is is that I love
that fan base. I love the area, I love the
DMV so supported, so embraced as a player when I
(31:43):
was there, And you're one hundred percent correct, and you're
talking about a lot of people take great pride in being,
you know, Washington fans, that the football team's fans, and
you know, I think their past due for being able
to be, you know, comfortable and confident about the team
(32:04):
that they're fans of. Now I will say things have changed.
You know, fantasy football has decentralized fan bases. There are
a lot of gambling has decentralized fan bases. A lot
of the older people who have been fans of this
team have since probably moved on to the great yonder
(32:26):
and beyond. And so now you're you're talking about a
franchise that has to figure out how to reconnect with
with the new, younger people that live in the market.
They have to figure out how to start building and
growing their fan base for the future. Because there's a
(32:48):
team right now ninety five that that is very entertaining
to watch. They they've had tremendous success as an organization,
as a franchise, and it's a very sad day and
sports DMV sports when you have to to kind of
revert to I'm a Caps fan I'm a Nats fan,
but for football, I have to go get my fix
(33:10):
by going down the you know, going down the road,
the highway to go see Baltimore, you know. So, you know,
I think that this creates an interesting opportunity for Washington
to be able to re engage it's its community and
to be able to build for the future and start
to kind of build the foundation, a new foundation of
(33:31):
what's to come for for that organization. But there are
some really really stad fast, very loyal Washington fans that
are still staying in the fray and have been in
the trenches with this organization for quite some time, and
they really, really truly deserve better than what they've had
during the last well twenty three years.
Speaker 2 (33:52):
Do you know, LeVar, how you get that fan base.
Speaker 1 (33:55):
That young fan base back, How you get them win?
Speaker 2 (33:57):
Okay, well, obviously, Dot you gotta what but you know what,
you move, You move heaven and earth to get yourself
Drake Mary Kay Williams in the draft next year. Like
that's how you do it, right, Like you need to
get a young quarterback that fans want to root for. Sorry,
Sam Howe, fans are not excited about a fifth round
(34:18):
draft pick who they had to who Tyler Hanekey last
year had to beg the staff to play in a
meaningless game. They didn't even want to play him last year,
and Tyler Harnekey was like Taylor Harney was like, hey, guys,
you know, just like give him a chance. Like they
need to get themselves a franchise quarterback a long term
of course, that was supposed to be Alex Smith. Unfortunately
(34:38):
he got hurt right, but that wasn't even a long
term solution per se. But a guy was going to
be there, you know, five years and kind of stables
your franchise. That didn't happen obviously for obvious reasons. And
they haven't been able to find that sort of next guy.
Fifth round draft pick is not that guy. I'm surprised
they went that direction this year. I think that. And
they're too good of a team to be bad to get.
(35:00):
Roster is really good this year. Roster's good. They're coach well.
I like Ron Rivera. I like the staff there, Like
they're gonna be coach well. Eric Bannamy is calling the
plays down on offense. They're gonna be coach well, they're
gonna win enough games. You have to find yourself an
answer quarterback. You have to do that, and it doesn't
happen in fregency very often because those guys are not
available every a trade every now and then, great, but
(35:21):
who's gonna be available for trade out for the season?
They look like anyone? Right, you have to go get
yourself a quarterback. If Arizona ends up with picks ones
and you know one and two, they're probably gonna take
Cayleb Williams at two, you trade up and you get
Drake may from you get someone LeVar to play quarterback
that your fan base is excited for the future. That's
how you get him back. That's how you get him back.
(35:43):
You promise a bright future with a young quarterback.
Speaker 1 (35:47):
Well, I'll tell you what else is bright. At the

Yep, all right.
Speaker 9 (37:57):
What we have here today is we're going to start
off with Roger Craig, former MLB chair manager.
Speaker 1 (38:04):
He actually passed.
Speaker 9 (38:05):
Away at ninety three. He was the guy that fixed games.
He like cheated in the nineteen eighty nine World Series
with the Giants.
Speaker 1 (38:14):
Oh wow, that's not good. Yeah, all right, well all right.
Speaker 2 (38:18):
I didn't know about that.
Speaker 1 (38:19):
Yeah, I'm reading it right here. I didn't know that either.
Speaker 9 (38:22):
Anyway, it says, all right, the Roger Craig the fixture.
Speaker 1 (38:27):
Okay, all right, next is different Roger Craig there. Yeah,
I thought we were talking about the tail back from
the Niners.
Speaker 9 (38:35):
But sorry, fame, but okay, go ahead, all right, this
is interesting. I saw this online earlier. It's called the
Taylor Swift Curse. So she's doing her tour as you guys. Now,
I'm sure you're seeing on social media every city she's
stopped in that city that NBA team has lost in
(38:59):
the play offs. And the only city she's not touring
in is the Miami is Miami is Miami Heat. So
I'll give you an example like Phoenix, Philly, Boston, New York,
San fran l A. They all lost when she visited,
and now.
Speaker 1 (39:14):
Is she visiting Denver? Yep? Now is it after after?
Well maybe they'll be okay.
Speaker 9 (39:21):
Then yeah, yeah, I think they're they're reaching.
Speaker 1 (39:23):
But you know, I wouldn't call it a reach. I mean,
that's an interesting, cool little correlation.
Speaker 2 (39:28):
I know, LeVar, would you go. I don't listen to
her on the regular? I mean, my daughter likes listen.
I would totally go to her shows. They look.
Speaker 1 (39:35):
I would go to her show. I like to be entertained.
She does good music.
Speaker 9 (39:42):
You heard it, Scott, Get these guys some tell you.
Speaker 2 (39:45):
I don't. I don't know if if Fox Portrato can
afford those tickets.
Speaker 1 (39:48):
Though they can, I know they are expensive. Is that
an iHeart? Is that an iHeart event? If it's iHeart,
you know, I'm sure, I'm sure Iheart's there know post
Malone is coming.
Speaker 2 (40:01):
I want to go see what would play for a
ticket to a concert? You'd be like this anymore?
Speaker 1 (40:07):
Well, it just depends. I like to have good seats.
I like to be close enough to see the person.
But I don't like to be you know, so like,
you know, gotty with it where I have to be,
you know, doing certain things, you know, in terms of
how it's set up. But I have been known to
stand on stage Jeff, Oh, I'm sorry. I have been
(40:29):
known to do that from time to time, like you know,
with like the Marley's or the Whalers or you know.
Speaker 2 (40:35):
Oh geez, Luther Pandros. You know, what would you do
for a concert ticket?
Speaker 1 (40:41):
Yeah? Man, you know, sometimes I just like to go
through the management of the situation, so I could try
to get like just like the best situation and unless
I'm just you know, I know the people. You know.
How about being in nine Mile, Jamaica and going and
standing on stage with all of the Marley brothers. How
about that? That's fun?
Speaker 2 (41:02):
Pretty awesome.
Speaker 1 (41:03):
Now, that is no ticket necessary, that's just a mission,
you dig what I'm saying. Yes, that's a good time,
all right? What you got? All right?
Speaker 9 (41:10):
One more we got the Chicago Bears wanted to build
a new stadium in Arlington Heights, but now that they're
saying that the taxes would be too high, since you know,
from compared to twenty twenty one, what do you guys
think about that? So they're not going to build the
stadiums don't feel like.
Speaker 2 (41:26):
This is something they should have figured out before that.
Speaker 1 (41:28):
I mean, you would think that you would do the
analysis before you announce make that announcement, but you know,
there you go, there you go.
Speaker 2 (41:35):
Just that sounds like that, like the ownership should have
known that before they decided to make this public.
Speaker 1 (41:40):
That sounds a tad bit embarrassing, you know, especially if
you're performing well enough. I mean, just deal with it.
I mean, there are teams out here in Los Angeles
that are doing football and I'm sure they're not tripping.
But anyways, our two coming at you next, two pros
and a cup of Joe. Fox Sports Radio
