by the ways, Just like the official Family Fest weekend
that just passed, it seems like a lot of teams
were doing family Night where they were gathering players and
(01:25):
you know, practicing in stadiums around the league, like that's
the thing to do.
Speaker 1 (01:30):
Yeah, well, you typically have a scrimmage, right, some sort
of you know, live games, scrimmage scenarios in the stadium
to get especially the rookies are new guys, just used
to the surroundings, and you invite the family out, the
fans out, all that good stuff, and it helps prepare you,
all right, I guess I should say it's the next
step in getting ready for the season. Obviously after this
(01:52):
now it's it's the preseason, you know, preseason games. So
it's what a lot of teams do. I think we
tell about Jordan Love and the Packers early. I think
they just had theirs. They probably have one of the
cooler ones, at least from what I've heard about not
not having played for but having a brother in law
and a sister and all that, who'd been a part
of a number of them. They always had a really
(02:14):
good time at that.
Speaker 4 (02:14):
Are you talking about the great A J.
Speaker 3 (02:16):
Hawk that's right, Yeah, our Kentucky Derby insider, Yes, that's.
Speaker 1 (02:20):
That's correct, the run back an analyst for the Kentucky.
Speaker 3 (02:24):
Derby who what Unfortunately he has not been on to
recap the Kentucky Derby the past couple of times.
Speaker 4 (02:30):
From my understanding, Well.
Speaker 1 (02:31):
That's yeah, you're a part of the show's not. But
that had a little something to do with something that
you did, Jonas.
Speaker 4 (02:37):
What did I do?
Speaker 1 (02:39):
Well? First off, you outed yourself as a Bears fan,
which you didn't take very kindly.
Speaker 3 (02:43):
I didn't out myself as a Bears fans you. Then
you spreading misinformation about me again that's not true.
Speaker 1 (02:48):
But then meeting you at the actual our charity golf
out and that's coming up here shortly, the Blue Jacket
golf outing, upon meeting you, it kind of, yeah, kind
of creeped him out.
Speaker 4 (02:58):
I think that's such a lie.
Speaker 3 (03:00):
Like you you really misrepresent me all the time on
this show, and it's borderline insulting.
Speaker 4 (03:07):
You know.
Speaker 3 (03:07):
If I wasn't if I didn't have those Midwestern roots.
You know, I would have been insulted and offended, but.
Speaker 1 (03:12):
I'm not, you know, mama fillinoy, we get it.
Speaker 3 (03:14):
Yeah, thick skin here, But what would you see? I
was thinking about this, the spring game versus family night.
Speaker 4 (03:21):
I got, I got. I think I'd go spring.
Speaker 1 (03:23):
Games spring game.
Speaker 3 (03:24):
Yeah, it just feels like it's more competitive. It feels
like guys are more likely to really lay the lumber to.
Speaker 4 (03:31):
Each other, you know.
Speaker 3 (03:32):
Just there's one hundred thousand people paying a five dollars
cover charge to watch spring football and Columbus or Tuscaloosa, Like,
that's what I would prefer to go to a spring.
Speaker 4 (03:42):
Game than like a family fest. I think.
Speaker 1 (03:44):
I think there's you know, because it's not so close
to the season, there's a little less pressure on the
spring game and what it is and how it you know,
what the outcome is or whoever performs or anything else.
It's just it feels like it's a little more light
and not only for the player, but for the coaches,
for everyone else involved, you know. So I to me,
it's always a little more fun, you know, with the
family night before the season. You know, these guys are
(04:07):
are in camp right they're getting ready to tune things
up for the season. So it's it's not like you
can truly kind of relax and have a good time
after the event, whereas and you know, we had some
of the best parties after the spring game in college
that I can recall.
Speaker 4 (04:21):
Really.
Speaker 1 (04:21):
Oh yeah, Like I mean you you have to you
have to understand this too. The spring game is like
after finals. So once once you play that spring game, man,
you are done. Like guys are moving out of the dorms,
they're they're going back home for the summer, or they're
going back for a period of time before they come back.
So most guys would be getting after it pretty hard.
Speaker 3 (04:39):
Oh man, I could to see you and Jeff Samarja
just ripping like Natty Lights through a beer bong that
was like twenty five feet high.
Speaker 1 (04:48):
You just like, I mean, Natty Light would have been
or Natty Ice. If you were in a little more
bang for your buck that that would have been choice.
Speaker 4 (04:55):
No, we're calling a bang for your buck with Natty eyes.
Speaker 2 (04:57):
I mean.
Speaker 3 (05:00):
Yeah, before I PA's Natty Ice rolled out, and there
was also butt Eye. You remember butt Ice back in
the day, and he had one sip of that and yeah,
it's a.
Speaker 1 (05:08):
Little more expensive though. Yeah, we had to keep with
the Natty than the Natty brand.
Speaker 3 (05:13):
Well, speaking of the preseason and getting ready for the season,
apparently Mike McCarthy thinks that, you know, it's looking like
Dak Prescott's not going to partake in any of this
preseason shitanigans.
Speaker 4 (05:23):
Like he's not going to partake it.
Speaker 1 (05:25):
Does it make sense for him too, He's got an
injury history, He's paid a ton of money, and you
know where you're going to get out of him. I know,
you know, Kellen Morris now with the Chargers, but Mike
McCarthy's still there. Brian Schottenheimer was there last year. He's
taken over as to play caller. I just I don't
know that it's worth the risk of putting Dak out
there and potentially getting him hurt.
Speaker 3 (05:47):
Yeah, I just I look at it and I would
be surprised if he did play, Like I'd be surprised.
I know Aaron Rodgers has said that he wants to
play a little bit in the preseason, which I guess
I could kind of understand. He's in a new spot,
but it would prize me if Dak Prescott did play
and I think Dallas and Mike McCarthy as an understanding
for what they're trying to do. I mean, so he
(06:08):
threw a bad interception and practice, big deal. It's not
as if, you know, they're trying to protect the guy.
And look when he was a rookie. I think that's
when everybody started to feel maybe a little bit better
about Dak Prescott because he did play well in the preseason,
and so he's past that point. Bryce Young, frank Reich
said that Bryce Young is going to start the preseason.
(06:28):
I'm curious to see how long he actually plays, Like
what does that look like? What would frank Reich need
to see from Bryce Young as a rookie quarterback for
him to go all right, that works. Now We're just
going to roll into the season and just get this
thing going Week one against the Falcons. Like, I'm curious
to see what Bryce Young, what his playing time looks
like in the preseason.
Speaker 1 (06:49):
I mean kind of same thought there though too, and
you dropped them number one. Overall, he's going to be
the guy. I know you want to get him some
live game reps and given his size, is the only
really concern that you may have, you know, I mean,
I think coming into the draft, there's no question about
anything else, anything else about him or his game. It
(07:10):
was just like, he's not the biggest guy, and so
you probably want to limit him and the amount of
live hits that he's going to take because I don't
know that he's gonna need a ton of reps. I'm
telling you, this dude is a prodigy. I've said this
about him since I first started watching tape of him.
There's some quarterbacks who just naturally have instincts and skills
that translate to playing quarterback. Bryce Young has it, and
(07:34):
so you know, I know people are gonna sound like
I'm being overly complimentary of him right now, but NFL
fans are gonna get a chance to watch and see
if they didn't have a chance to watch him during
his time at Alabama. And I think this year too,
could be without him. It could be an indication of
where Alabama's at when it's all said and done and
what that looks like. So it may make sense to
(07:58):
get him some reps. I'm sure Frank Wright wants to
see him play. He's a former NFL quarterback. He gets
to Josh vac Cowns in there too. He gets it.
All these guys who are part of that staff want
to see it. But if he's not their quarterback, what
real chance do they have? Yeah, I mean this is
why Matt Rule's not there, because they couldn't find a quarterback.
Now you get a new head coach, you have the
(08:19):
number one overall pick, you trade it up to take him,
and you want to put him in a meaningless exhibition game,
potentially subjecting the risk. I just I'm starting to not
see really much reward or value in these preseason games
any longer. And on the note of Rogers wanting to play,
he almost got hurt in practice the other day. I
(08:40):
think it was Jermaine Johnson who had stepped on his foot,
ankle something. I mean, it's getting to the point where,
and I know it sound like I'm being overly cautious,
but what are the Jets' chances if Rogers isn't their quarterback?
You're not talking about them or looking at them the
same so that the odds drop significantly. And you can
make the same case for Carolina. If it's not going
to be Bryce Young, you might say, well, hey, Andy,
(09:02):
dog's a very capable quarterback. I mean, at least that's
how I feel. But it's it's still not the future
of what this could be, and you don't want to,
you know, hurt his or impact his career before it's
even gotten started.
Speaker 3 (09:13):
So I guess they had a bad practice on Saturday,
did the Carolina Panthers. And so Bryce Shung was asked
about it afterwards, and he sounds like, and I'll read
the quote, but he he already sounds like he's been
in the league ten years. So he said a quote
as a competitor, we all get frustrated, but we have
to do a better job of bringing stuff back and
really stepping back and making sure that even if it's
(09:34):
not our day, for one period or one play, we're
able to flip the script. We didn't do a good
enough job today of that. But that's what training campus
for something. He's been there ten years. Guy just got
there was twenty two.
Speaker 1 (09:47):
But you have to understand too, He's comes from Modern Day,
which is arguably one of the biggest high schools in
the country as far as a powerhouse for football. He
was the you know, leader of that school. He goes
to Alabama, which is arguably one of the biggest brands,
most storied you know teams, and as the quarterback there
wins a Heisman and then he now has elevated himself
(10:09):
to the NFL level. This is nothing new for this
young man. It's just the next step in his progression
as a quarterback playing professional.
Speaker 3 (10:17):
Every time I hear him talk, I go, I don't
see barring injury, I don't see how this isn't successful
for Carolina and Bryce Shong.
Speaker 1 (10:26):
I hope that's the case because I feel the same way.
I think he's a special player and he's a special person.
You know, anyone who's been around him, he he just
does everything the right way. He really does with the
way he conducts himself.
Speaker 4 (10:37):
I mean, so what are we thinking here? You know,
little plus.
Speaker 1 (10:42):
Well rookie of the year. I'd throw some money on
that right now. I would even say, especially with the
signing of Justin Houston, which I believe they just signed
him to to a one year deal, I think the
Carolina Panthers are like that playoff team that I'd like
the odds on that, and I may even throw something
on them to win.
Speaker 4 (10:59):
To the Okay, so let me go ahead.
Speaker 1 (11:02):
You know, the only thing that stands in the way
is the Saints schedule is so easy. Now, I know
you're gonna say, well, wouldn't the Carolina Panthers be similar?
It is, but it's just the way it shapes out.
The Saints schedules is pretty easy, maybe even a little
easier in Carolina.
Speaker 3 (11:18):
So what would you say? The odds are on the
Panthers to make the playoffs? I have the make the DraftKings.
Just are there any higher than plus four hundred? I
would be surprised? Okay, well it's plus two to oh five.
But when it comes to a lot of these to
make the playoffs odds, there's nothing really drastic, but they
are overwhelmingly the money is on them to not make
the playoffs. So they are minus two make the playoffs.
Speaker 1 (11:41):
I mean, I can't go go through your list of
playoff teams in the NFC right now.
Speaker 4 (11:44):
Okay, let me just go.
Speaker 1 (11:45):
Outside of Philly and some would say San Francisco. Right,
we're expecting brock Purty to be back before. Yeah, So
let's say you have those two teams named the other five.
Speaker 3 (11:53):
So Dallas, Philly, San Francisco. I'll go Detroit, Seattle.
Speaker 4 (12:12):
And you have two more. Yeah, like I would say
who's going to win the.
Speaker 1 (12:17):
South Giants, you could say someone whoever's gonna win.
Speaker 3 (12:20):
I don't think the Giants are making the playoffs, so
I would say, yeah, the Saints, and then I think
it's going to come down to if you had to
go final wild card in the NFC, I think it's
going to come down to Minnesota, Chicago, and Carolina. That's
what I believe. With Seattle maybe making some noise, but
(12:41):
I'm not. I'm not as high on Seattle or the Giants.
This year is being playoff teams again in the NFC.
Speaker 1 (12:47):
By the way, as excited as I am to see
the AFC figure itself out because there's just so many
good quarterbacks in that conference, I'm also excited to see,
like how the NFC plays out, like you're gonna have
some surprises like teams.
Speaker 3 (12:59):
That's why Carolina does make sense because, look, you do
have a veteran coach, you've got the rookie of the
year that we're already calling our shot. And by the way,
if anybody is doubting the future's ability on this show,
Brady Quinn, after watching speaking of spring games, an Alabama
spring game a few years back, called his shot on
Bryce Young to win the Heisman. You could have gotten
(13:21):
at ten to one if you listen to that show
that was during I Believe in the Height of COVID,
and you are already calling your shot that Bryce Young
was going to win the Heisman, and he did at
ten to one. So we're already calling our shot. Bryce
Young is going to be the rookie of the year.
You can get it on DraftKings of five to one
right now. Bejean Robinson is your favorite at plus two seventy.
Speaker 1 (13:42):
Five'll be Bryce.
Speaker 3 (13:43):
Yeah, I'm not buying it. I think it's Bryce Young
as well too. And that's the way this thing is
going to roll. And there is a decent shot that
the Carolina Panthers could be a playoff team, which if
that's the case, aren't we starting to talk about Frank
Reich is maybe?
Speaker 2 (14:00):
Ye?
Speaker 1 (14:00):
There it goes bringing all together.
Speaker 4 (14:02):
Listen, if we're going to do this, let's go all
the way. Let's go all the way.
Speaker 3 (14:05):
And if you want Coach of the Year odds on
Frank Reich of the Carolina Panthers, who's probably thrilled that
he doesn't have to deal with Jim Irsay and Jim
Mersey's whale rescue movement or whatever's going on there in Indianapolis.
You can get Frank Reich at twenty five to one
right now for Coach of the Year.
Speaker 1 (14:23):
By the way, Ken that quick shout out as I
started thinking about like offense coordinators and assistance that could
be up for it. Thomas Brown their OC. I if
Bryce Young's having, you know, Rookie of the Year, maybe
he's a part of it. However you go about, you know,
dividing up that that staff. But did you see Sean Jefferson.
He was He's their wide receivers coach. He was out
(14:43):
in full pads, like shoulder pads, helmet cleats, everything with
with a with a pad. I think, I don't know
if they were working on blocks or what they were doing,
but he was out there trying to give it to
the wide series camp. It was, Yeah, I haven't seen
a coach do that in a while. But that's like
mad respect for Sean Jefferson, who's a great coach, but
(15:04):
just a good dude for putting himself in that position
to pad up man especially during training camp. That's pretty cool.
Speaker 3 (15:09):
Are those the old school power shoulder pads? He's got
on with the lightning bolts going through the middle.
Speaker 1 (15:14):
You've got to have the extra padding, you know, like
you need those remember like the Andy Katzimoyer like old
like the lineback and shoulder pads. That's probably what you
want as an older coach in the league, if you're
doing these sort of drills.
Speaker 3 (15:24):
By the way, Sean Jefferson played for the Chargers, correct, Yeah,
believe so. Yeah, I think you played a lot of yours.
He might have been on that Super Bowl team in
ninety four that went to the Super Bowl and got
absolutely blow thrushed by the forty nine Ers.
Speaker 1 (15:37):
I remember, I remember leaving a Super Bowl party. My
uncle took me to early because it was so out
of hand at halftime.
Speaker 4 (15:44):
Yeah, and I believe the that was the.
Speaker 1 (15:45):
One where Steve Young got you know, he got like
kind of over that hurdle.
Speaker 3 (15:49):
Right yeah, yeah, yeah, take the monkey off my back,
you know. That was he was talking to one of
his teammates on the sideline. I believe the final score
of that Super Bowl was forty nine to twenty six.
Speaker 4 (15:59):
I'm not mistaken.
Speaker 1 (16:01):
It wasn't even that close enough.
Speaker 4 (16:02):
I think it was Lee. Can you double check.
Speaker 1 (16:04):
That at all? I'm not I'm not saying guessing to score.
I'm saying, like, what was it at halftime? Seven? Yeah?
Speaker 4 (16:11):
There was?
Speaker 3 (16:12):
I think there was garbage time touchdowns by the Chargers,
Old Stan Humphreys slinging it late in that game to
try and help people out if anybody had money?
Speaker 1 (16:20):
Is Lee here today outside of one segment? So it
has been pretty cool.
Speaker 3 (16:22):
Twenty eight to ten at halftime, yeah, yeah, and then
the final was forty nine to twenty six.
Speaker 5 (16:27):
That is correct.
Speaker 4 (16:27):
Yeah. And then Shan Jefferson was on that team. Yes,
what that?
Speaker 1 (16:31):
How about that?
Speaker 4 (16:32):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (16:33):
So see a lot of people thought, man, it's August.
What are you guys going to talk about the Super
Bowl from ninety four? What else did we talk about?
Two Pros and a Cup of Joe? Here on Fox
Sports Radio, Brady Quinn, Jonas Knox with you here. All right,
it's coming up next from the tire rack dot Com Studios.
More proof that somebody in the NFL has no shot
(16:54):
and it's yours here on FSR.
Speaker 2 (16:56):
Be sure to catch live editions of Two Pros and
a Couple Joe with Brady Quinn, LeVar Arrington and Jonas
Knox weekdays at six Am Eastern three AM Pacific on
Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 4 (17:11):
So Soundgarden, Oh, you just go right back to that. Huh,
what are you talking about?
Speaker 1 (17:18):
That's a good song, buddy. Come on, you can pop
your head to it in a little bit. Get your
hips moving, you know.
Speaker 3 (17:24):
Trying to do a professional broadcast. Here, two pros and
a cup of Joe. Fox Sports Radio, Brady Quinn, Jonas
Knox with you, by the way, Yes, come up. In
about twenty minutes from now, we are going to have
ourselves an FSR IRS where we report any issues, injuries,
ailments from a long weekend in the world of sports
and beyond. And that'll be yours here at about twenty
(17:45):
minutes from now from the tire rack dot Com studios.
So we do have ourselves a little bit of a
solution for the running back issue in Indianapolis, which we
have talked about. So the Indianapolis Colts have gone ahead
and said, all right, we need to make this right.
And so they went out and they have signed Kenyan Drake.
(18:07):
So so that is the very latest on the Colts
and the running back situation there. So Kenyan Drake is
now going to be a member of the Indianapolis Colts
and Jonathan Taylor and Jim Mersey apparently still still no
solution or resolution there. So we are trying to figure
(18:28):
this whole thing out as we go along there for
the Indianapolis Colts. So there you go, there's your Colts
running back update. How the hell is this thing going
to play out? I mean, is this kind of is
this even gonna go anywhere? Is Jonathan Taylor just going
to show up and play this final year and then
everybody just goes it goes their separate ways.
Speaker 1 (18:46):
That's that's usually how this works. Okay, you know, usually
it works out that way, unless Jonathan Taylor just draws
a hard line in the sand and says, you know,
I heard what the owners said about me. I don't
have any desire to play here anymore. And I think
people in the front office who work under Jim Irsay,
maybe even Shane Steich in their head coach, which you
(19:07):
got to think that you mentioned earlier, like how happy
maybe Frank Reich is is to be with a new
organization where he doesn't have to deal with that. Imagine
anyone who's under Jim Irsay and has to then work
with an agent with a player after the owner says
something that I have a hard time imagining any head
coach or general manager would say something like that, Yeah,
(19:31):
yet here we are, and that's unfortunately the position those
guys are in, and so they're probably doing their best,
which is why you saw a number of reports come out, right.
I think it was Pro Football Talk Mike Florio had
the fact that, hey, the Colts want to agree to
a long term deal with Jonathan Taylor. I think was
one of the reports they put out. That's all like
(19:53):
front office folks, coaches trying it to patch up or
manage the relationship that their owner basic be destroyed. And
that's what's going on behind the scenes right now. So
they're trying their best. Jonathan Taylor's a hell of a player,
and he's and he's young, and he's he's proved himself
and he should get an extension. I just don't know. Again,
(20:15):
and I said this the last time we talked about it,
I don't know how far off they are in talking
about what he feels like he's owed and what the
team's going to offer, and so between that and what
the owner said, right that gap in compensation and what
Jim Mersey has said it might be enough for them
to say, all right, we'll just we'll go our separate ways.
The problem is that you know, the cold time under contract,
(20:37):
and they might not get what they want for him
in return for a trade, and so there may not
be an ending to this anywhere in sight unless there's
a team that happens to, you know, value Jonathan Taylor,
want to pay him, or want to pay him what
he's worth. Because again you have to think that any
team that trades for Jonathan Taylor, they already know what
they're going to have to agree to in an extension
(20:58):
because you're not going to trade for him and then
I'm show up and expecting to play. Well, he doesn't
have a new deal in hand, because that was the
first part of why he's you know, not wanting to
be out there in the first place.
Speaker 3 (21:09):
Also, when it comes to the Colts, there's been a
lot of I don't know if embarrassing is the right term,
but a lot of moments over the past couple of seasons.
Speaker 4 (21:18):
Yeah, okay, let's just go with it.
Speaker 3 (21:19):
It's been kind of embarrassing just the way certain things
have been handled.
Speaker 1 (21:23):
Can we actually get some game show music. It's still
over the top your top three? Oh yeah, easy, most
embarrassing moments for the Idianapolis colts. I can actually think
of a top five.
Speaker 3 (21:33):
Yeah, I got five as well too. All right, So
for those of you that yeah, we have a live
studio band. They are plugging their instruments in. We just
want to make sure everybody is is still ready to
go here. Yeah, they're tuning up. It's early in the
morning here four thirty.
Speaker 1 (21:50):
Some of the vocal things you do as a singer,
like did you just have to be like.
Speaker 4 (21:54):
Yeah, you could do some of that, or you can.
Speaker 1 (21:59):
That.
Speaker 3 (22:01):
One of the things I used to do is I
used to hum like I used to go h it
would warm my voice up. But here we are, so
live studio band is with us here, all right. So
I'm going to go right to the top. Okay, announcing
the hiring of Josh McDaniels as your coach.
Speaker 1 (22:20):
That's number one.
Speaker 4 (22:21):
Yeah, well now that this is number five for.
Speaker 1 (22:23):
Me, oh number five, okay, sorry.
Speaker 3 (22:25):
Announcing the hiring of Josh McDaniels as your head coach.
And Josh McDaniels is not your head coach. I'm going
to go number five on the list of embarrassing moments
under Jim or Say and the Indianapolis culture over the
last few years.
Speaker 1 (22:37):
Can I do the voice where I count on the numbers, Yes,
I'll give you at number five, it's number five.
Speaker 4 (22:43):
Yeah, So that's the Josh McDaniels.
Speaker 1 (22:46):
My number five is when the Colts organization, which, by
the way, can I say this, Lucas Oil Stadium is awesome,
Like was just there for Big ten media days. Love
that place. One thing sticks out though, when I go
there at number five, it's the the AFC finalist banner
that hangs up there. Every time I go in there,
(23:06):
I'm like, oh, dude, come on, like, someone please take
that down. I get it. There's the deflate gate thing
and all that, Like, let's just let's move past this.
Speaker 4 (23:18):
I forgot about all that.
Speaker 1 (23:19):
Oh yeah. Every time I walk in there, I look
at him like, yep, still up. No one's no one
in the organization's taking that down.
Speaker 4 (23:25):
All right, I'm ready for my next At number four.
Speaker 3 (23:29):
Number four, deflate Gate turning into rats and complaining about
a deflated football because you couldn't beat the New England Patriots,
so you went to the league. You tattled on the
Patriots because you were upset about how things went in
a playoff game. My number four most embarrassing moment for
(23:51):
the Indianapolis Colts starting to flate gate one of the
great wastes of time in recent NFL history.
Speaker 1 (24:00):
That's a good one. That's a good one. I don't
know that that's overly embarrassing. And the other thing is
a good former teammate friend, Duquel Jackson, I believe, was
the linebacker who caught onto it. So because of that,
I'm not gonna throw it in my top five.
Speaker 3 (24:16):
Really, you know, they see but he caught onto it,
but it wasn't him who went to Ryan Grigson is
the guy who reported it, but.
Speaker 1 (24:25):
It was it was if you read all the report
of it, Duquel Jackson was the first to figure it out.
So I love to quell that's my guy. I can't
even have it as part of it, all right, all right,
what do you got at number four? All right? My
number four is gonna be the Wentz left handed intersection.
That was he just I mean, you make a play
(24:48):
like that, that kind of sticks with you forever, all right.
We talked about like the pks and that's like that's
part of it like that's gonna stick with you forever.
When you have a play that just looks that bad,
it goes that terribly. That had to have been one
of one of the more embarrassing moments for the Colts organization.
Speaker 3 (25:05):
Yeah, that was a solid one. That was pretty good.
All Right, I'm ready for.
Speaker 4 (25:08):
My next one.
Speaker 3 (25:09):
At number three, Andrew Luck sideline of a preseason game
and just says, yeah, that'll do it for me. I'm
gonna go ahead and take off here, see you guys,
and away we go. Jacoby Brissett looks at him on
the sideline when he finds out that he's serious and
just goes, oh, so, I guess it's my job now.
(25:32):
All right, well that's fun. So my number three, Andrew
Luck retiring on the sideline of a preseason game back
and I believe it was twenty eighteen, if memory serves
me correct, twenty eighteen, Andrew Luck decides to walk away
from the game of football on the sideline of a
preseason game against your Chicago Bears.
Speaker 4 (25:51):
Brady Quinn, my Chicago Bears. All right, that's my number three.
Speaker 1 (25:55):
Yeah, Well, my number three is it's always gonna stick,
okay with Jim Rsay from this point moving forward, only
because he is the most entertaining owner I think, I mean,
probably next to Jerry Jones in the NFL. I would
say when he first started to really what he got
(26:16):
the Jimmersay band going, in particular, when he was leaning
up against that truck outside of was the Washington Monument,
I believe. I believe that started the run of viral
videos and other things that have kind of gone on
that I find highly entertaining. I look for that sort
of content. I wish we got more from the Colts organization,
(26:38):
but that was the beginning of it where I was like,
how many other owners are willing to go out there
and do this and do this publicly? By the way. Yeah,
so it's got to be the jim Irsay band, which
travels a lot of different types of songs and stuff
they have going on, But that's got to be up
there for me. That's number three.
Speaker 3 (26:55):
Yeah, all right, it's clearly number three on Brady Quinn's list.
And we can continue on here with the most embarrassing,
slash worst moments of the Indianapolis Colts over the past
few seasons starring jim Irsay and company. So here we go,
I am ready for my next one if you are
ready to make.
Speaker 4 (27:14):
The announcement Brady at number two.
Speaker 3 (27:16):
All right, so number two, Jim Irsay decided. You know what,
I got a problem with one of my better players,
some would argue, my best skill position player that we've
had since Andrew Luck. And instead of making things right
and talking in a calm manner, I'm gonna go ahead
(27:38):
and I'm going to get down to the bare minimum
of it all. I'm going to get down to what
everything means from ground zero moving forward and what life
lesson I can teach people in the midst of this
contract dispute I'm having with a great player.
Speaker 4 (27:53):
Take it away, Jim.
Speaker 6 (27:55):
If I die tonight and Jonathan Tayo's of the league,
no one's going to as the league goes on.
Speaker 1 (28:01):
I mean, you know, we know that the National.
Speaker 6 (28:03):
Football rolls on. It doesn't matter. You know who who
comes and who goes.
Speaker 3 (28:08):
Nothing like a life and death comp while sitting in
a golf car to training camp starring Jim Ersay, that
is my number two most embarrassing moment for the Indianapolis
culture of the last several years.
Speaker 1 (28:18):
Oh, we've got We've got some overlap here. But this
is not my number number two. My number two is
back in March sixteenth, I want to say of twenty
fourteen when Jim Irsay was pulled over by the Carmel
police and you know there has happened to be multiple
prescription drugs found in the car Xanax. It was a
(28:39):
darvasset alim ambient activan. According to the rest of report.
He had almost thirty thousand dollars in cash. Yeah, toylet
a highlander he was driving. So that was kind of
to me the one that put it out there. Again,
you have to ask yourself whether the owner is putting
themselves in this situation. No one, no one but Jim Ersay.
(29:00):
So that was my number two.
Speaker 3 (29:02):
I mean, listen, you know, nothing's wrong with a hefty
bag full of prescription pills and cash. I mean, who's
not driving around with that in the back seat? You
know that makes all the sense in the world. All right,
I'm ready.
Speaker 1 (29:12):
For concoction the way of sto drugs.
Speaker 3 (29:15):
Me, sir, where do you think you're going nowhere? The
sire officer, I had a headache. All right, I'm ready
for my number one and number one, I mean the
Jeff Saturday fiasco like that is that's that's that's right there.
I mean, what the hell was that you screwed over
Frank Reich. You let him be the fall guy, after
(29:38):
you let Carson Wentz be the fall guy, and then
you're bring in Jeff Saturday. Thank god he opened up
against the Raiders because you actually won a game, but
they went on to lose in heartbreaking fashion.
Speaker 4 (29:51):
They went on to lose in amazing ways.
Speaker 3 (29:53):
We saw what happen against the Vikings, where what do
they have like a thirty point lead or some crap
like that, and the season history. Yeah, and so just
to see the way all of that played out and
the fact that that was Jim Mersey's guy and he
was so confident that this was going to work, and
to see how everything finished up Jeff Saturday and the
fiasco that was that era of Indianapolis Colts football. That's
(30:15):
my low point, most embarrassing moment for the Indianapolis Colts
over the past few years.
Speaker 1 (30:20):
All Right, A couple of things here from me on
this one. I didn't have it as part of my
top five, and part because I respect Jeff Saturday and
also in the event that that position comes open again.
You always know there's a chance Jim Irsay could hire you.
So I really was like, eh, you know, they got
through the season, it worked out, they did win a game.
The rest was disastrous. But that might be number six.
(30:41):
That's not one of my top five.
Speaker 4 (30:42):
Okay, fair enough.
Speaker 1 (30:43):
So at number one, Lee played the sound again. I mean,
there's nothing better than again your owner singing a golf
card during training camp talking about your irrelevance to one
of your best players.
Speaker 6 (30:56):
If I die tonight and Jonavan Taylor's the league, no
one's gonna miss this.
Speaker 1 (31:01):
The league goes on.
Speaker 6 (31:02):
You know, we know that the national football rolls on.
It doesn't matter, you know who who comes and who goes.
Speaker 1 (31:09):
He's not wrong, Okay, he may be right, but you
can't say it all right. There's plenty of examples of that.
For example, there's a lot of people who probably want
to say things about you know, the pks from the
World Cup. You could, I mean, you could think it.
You can't say it otherwise you're gonna be absolutely lambasted
for it. It's a bad look. So unfortunately for Jim Orsay,
(31:31):
that is the top of my list. It just just
it's the Colts. We'll look forward to the off season
every single year for them.
Speaker 3 (31:37):
So you guys always talk about how well run the
Giants organization is. I just can't imagine Giants' ownership sitting
on a golf cart talking about Saquon Barkley. Listen, I
could dilater and Saquon could be out of the league.
Speaker 4 (31:50):
Nobody cares.
Speaker 3 (31:52):
That's just something you wouldn't hear from them, but in
Indianapolis you would hear.
Speaker 4 (31:55):
So there it is.
Speaker 3 (31:56):
You're impromptu Indianapolis Colts low points, low moments of the
past few years.
Speaker 1 (32:03):
We've got some low points apparently in studio here for
somewhere behind the scenes crew, I'm just nowt finding out,
you know, while we're we're a little bit delayed at
times with some stuff golding.
Speaker 4 (32:12):
Yeah, that's all good.
Speaker 1 (32:12):
Hey, listen, Lee, what do you have this week? Actually,
you know what, save it for the next segment.
Speaker 4 (32:16):
Yeah, we will save it for the next segment.
Speaker 3 (32:18):

our songs and your sounds the exact same.
Speaker 3 (36:29):

Speaker 4 (37:22):
All right, So lead to Lap. What's going on there, buddy?
Speaker 1 (37:28):
Well?
Speaker 9 (37:29):
Yeah, Well, Brady was asking where I've been most of
this morning, and the answer to that is I've been
using the jahn most of this morning.
Speaker 4 (37:38):
What's the problem.
Speaker 9 (37:39):
I was eating like crap all weekend, which isn't very
you know, abnormal for me. But I was upset because
I was like, man, I thought I had bought a
bunch of great food, like some some salmon, some steak,
some other stuff, and uh late late, you know, I
guess Sunday morning, I discovered that I all that food
had gotten moved to a different part of the fridge
and has pretty much expired. I was pretty bummed about it.
(38:01):
I was thinking about cooking up some of that salmon,
but had like some weird residue on it, all that
stuff anyway, threw all that away. But I also woke
up Sunday morning to like the good smell of sausage.
My girlfriend was cooking, and yeah, I was like, all right,
give me some of that, and she's like, well, I
don't know. I don't think I'm gonna eat it. It was
a little it smelled funny and it looks weird. I was,
I don't worry about it. Handed over, I'll test it
(38:22):
out for you. So I scarfed all that down. Well,
immediately afterwards, I regretted that not a good decision. Sausage
came in and went out. I mean, yeah, yeah, wow, yeah,
bad decisions by lead a Lap this weekend.
Speaker 6 (38:38):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (38:38):
But Lee, like you said, this isn't anything out of
the out of the ordinary. No, this is what you do.
Speaker 5 (38:43):
Yeah, you know, human garbage disposal. Absolutely.
Speaker 8 (38:47):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (38:47):
I mean, your your diversity and the various culinary you know,
foods or things you'll do. It surprises me. But at
the same time, I'm not surprised when these sort of
these sort of thing has.
Speaker 4 (39:00):
Happened to you.
Speaker 9 (39:00):
I thought this was going to happen last weekend when
I tried revolving sushi for the first.
Speaker 5 (39:04):
Time, not my choice.
Speaker 4 (39:06):
What the hell's revolving?
Speaker 5 (39:07):
Seen these places like this sushi on a revolving.
Speaker 1 (39:12):
Yeah, it's like a baggage claim, but for sushi.
Speaker 4 (39:15):
Yeah, that's great.
Speaker 5 (39:15):
It looks awful. It looks so disgustingly they're.
Speaker 4 (39:18):
Making it fresh.
Speaker 9 (39:20):
Yeah, but you see the thing now, you see you
see pieces that just keep going around in a circle
and nobody wants to touch.
Speaker 5 (39:25):
Yeah, and you have to.
Speaker 9 (39:26):
It's like competitive, like if you don't sit in the
right spot where it comes right.
Speaker 1 (39:30):
Out and there's no one there, you know how, Like
after the suitcases go around a few times, it stops,
they take them off. They don't do that. They just
keep letting that thing ride. Eventually someone's like, oh, this
looks good. I want this one. I don't have to
wait a little bit.
Speaker 3 (39:44):
I put my buddy's phone and wallet on that when
we were at sushi one time and he couldn't find
his stuff and it just kept going around in circles.
Speaker 4 (39:53):
I don't know why. I think we were drunk or.
Speaker 3 (39:55):
Something, and I thought, then you have to pay for
the meal though, right, So, yeah, he couldn't find it
for a while.
Speaker 2 (40:00):
