the way tire buying should be. So there was an
interesting move made in the NFL yesterday and it makes
you wonder what the hell's going on with one team
and it's the Pittsburgh Steelers. Their general manager Omar Kahn
(02:12):
was on the Pat mcaveee show starring AJ Hawk, and
he reported that a Mitch Trubisky extension should be done shortly.
It'll be a two year deal. And this coming on
the heels of them announcing that Mason Rudolph would also
be back and Kenny Pickett is still the starter there.
But it's interesting that they wanted to make sure that
(02:34):
the backups were in place with Kenny Pickett coming back
for year two of his role as starting quarterback for
the Pittsburgh Steelers, And it just makes me wonder, is
there some concern about Kenny Pickett considering and this doesn't
get talked about a lot. He also, much like Tua,
dealt with multiple concussions last year, is there some concern
(02:55):
by the Pittsburgh Steelers that he will be ready to
participate in a full season a year for Pittsburgh.
Speaker 2 (03:01):
I was gonna ask you guys, did he have two? Yeah?
Speaker 5 (03:05):
You know, I remember like reading about that, and my
reaction was what you just said, was why was so
much of it made about Tua but not as much
discussed about Kenny Pickett.
Speaker 2 (03:17):
Do you think it was just more Tua's.
Speaker 5 (03:18):
Injury history coming into the league or is it the
matter in which we we saw those concussions and we
kind of were more led to say, oh, these are
you know, they looked more vicious in nature, or maybe
just because of the timing in which they happened.
Speaker 4 (03:33):
I think to his symptoms looked worse, which.
Speaker 1 (03:36):
Is like the immediate, the immediate of it, like them
falling back down his fingers.
Speaker 4 (03:42):
Yeah, like locked up. No, they were not gang signs.
Speaker 5 (03:53):
In moments like that, you reformed to your greatest, greatest
form of training.
Speaker 4 (03:58):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (04:00):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (04:00):
But it is interesting because the Kenny Pickett stuff just
sort of kind of flew under the radar. Nobody really
talked about that. I think one of them he's self
reported as well too, and was like, yeah, you know,
I don't feel all that good, and then they pulled
him from the game. But yeah, he suffered as many
concussions last year that we know of as Tua did.
And yet here the Steelers are making moves like I
(04:23):
thought that either Mason Rudolph or Mitch Trubisky would be
gone this offset. They they're keeping all of them, which
is kind of weird.
Speaker 1 (04:30):
No, I mean, I'm three quarterbacks. I guess that's becoming
the norm. Is that the norm?
Speaker 2 (04:40):
Now?
Speaker 1 (04:40):
I mean three quarterbacks. You could use to say that's
three you're one heavy, you know, if you keep three qbs.
But that's what they've done, That's what that's what they've done. Yeah,
that's what they've done.
Speaker 2 (04:52):
It used to be the norm.
Speaker 5 (04:54):
And then they changed the third quarterback designation in the
two thousand and eleven CBA or twenty ten, twenty eleven,
whichever year you want to throw it on. But they
used to make that where you could dress all three
and the third guy didn't count against it, but as
soon as you needed to put him into the game,
you would literally take a player who was on the
(05:15):
active roster, deactivate him, and then activate.
Speaker 2 (05:20):
Your you know, your third string quarterback.
Speaker 5 (05:22):
And then all that stated was that guy's now active
to come into the game, and the starter may no
longer come back into the game. That's the player who
you would be deactivating this case due to injury. Well,
once they got rid of that rule, teams stop keeping
three on their active roster, in part because they kind
of thought to themselves, look, if we go through two
(05:45):
quarterbacks in the span of a week, we got a
problem going to a third string guy anyway, So we'll
have an emergency third string quarterback. We'll get through the
game that the likelihood of that happening is so low
it's not worth it for us to keep that veteran
guy who's going to make close to probably a million
bucks a year. We can get a million dollars in savings,
(06:06):
or let's just say we'll put them on practice squad.
We'll get you know, maybe a third of what that veteran.
Speaker 2 (06:12):
Would be paid.
Speaker 5 (06:13):
So that's how they have dealt with it for a
period of time. Some organizations are different. But it is
interesting that you know, with Pickett being drafted, they're coming
into a second year. You keep Trubisky, you keep Mason Rudolph,
who also signed back a lot of stall building that
quarterback row. And I don't know if that's just a
lack of confidence they have in Kenny Pickett, or it's
(06:34):
maybe more they like the direction of where things were
going in the second half of last year, the way
he was playing, and they want to keep as much
the same as possible.
Speaker 4 (06:42):
I mean, the other team this reminds me of is
San fran because the Niners have three quarterbacks and I
think everybody agrees, well, they've got three quarterbacks that are
there because there's some injury concerns and they want to
make sure they've got somebody that's going to be able
to play. And Sam Darnold's there, and you know, we've
talked about the discussion between the two and it feels
(07:04):
like the same thing in Pittsburgh, but it's not really
being discussed. And if you go back and watch Kenny
Pickett last year, he did show signs of improvement late
in the season, but I don't know that anybody looks
back at last year and says, oh, he completely lit
the league up, so.
Speaker 1 (07:20):
Nobody ran away with it. Kenny Pickett played well down
the stretch, but he didn't run away with he's the guy,
like I mean, he's the guy, but I think he's
the guy because he's their draft pick and Trubisky didn't
play well enough where.
Speaker 2 (07:36):
You know, Pickett was going to have to wait.
Speaker 1 (07:39):
And we definitely, you know, have no expectation for Mason
Rudolph at this point. I mean, he's had a couple
opportunities and he didn't take them either. So we talked
about we talked about the whole Zach Wilson thing, and
the one thing that resonated when I was listening to
Q talk about it is you.
Speaker 2 (07:59):
Got to see what you got.
Speaker 1 (08:01):
You got to get reps to develop, And I think
Pittsburgh really wants to see Kenny Pickett be the.
Speaker 2 (08:09):
Guy for multiple reasons.
Speaker 1 (08:11):
It's great for business if Kenny Pickett develops into a
franchise guy that can lead them the way they need
to be leaded. I mean, it's such a traditional franchise.
They have done it so well where they've only had
X amount of coaches, X amount of quarterbacks, you know,
(08:33):
and and that's been that's been their thing. It's a
staple of what Pittsburgh represents. So I think there's a
lot riding on Kenny Pickett being that guy for the Steelers,
but he didn't, by any means run away with it, like, Yep,
there's our starter, this is the future, this is what
we have to look forward to. Even though I think
(08:55):
he did give Steelers fans some some positive moments to
take away before the season was over.
Speaker 4 (09:02):
I mean, the numbers aren't great overall. I mean, you know,
seven touchdowns, nine picks, like he improved late in the season.
But yeah, there's just like you look at it, but
it's just it's interesting that it's sort of not really
been like I think more of the conversation has been
about Mike Tomlin and still keeping his never had a
(09:24):
losing record, street going and just sort of, you know,
little improvements they saw late in the season. But Pittsburgh's
in kind of an interesting spot because if you look
at that division and you just look at who they're
going to be dealing with in that division, I think
it's it's pretty obvious they've got the worst quarterback situation
in the AFC North. And how many teams around the
(09:46):
NFL who have the worst quarterback situation in the division
do you look at and go, oh, yeah, that's a
team that I'm not concerned about. That's going to be
a team that'll be contending next year. Like it feels
like there's some bigger issues there that maybe it's kind
of been overlook because of the Lamar Jackson story, Joe
Burrow's extension, Deshaun Watson's fetish, and there's the Pittsburgh Steelers,
(10:07):
It's true, and there's the Pittsburgh Steelers who are kind
of floating there, sitting at the bottom. And I don't
know how optimistic Steeler fans are going to be heading
in the next year.
Speaker 5 (10:15):
I've said it before, Man, have nothing against the guy,
just havn't really enjoyed watching the film of Matt Canada's offense.
I mean, I'm just I feel like if they move
on from Kenny Pickett, you know, Matt Canadan somehow then
has survived, and I think Pittsburgh stands could probably relate
(10:35):
to that. I mean, first off, Kenny was a rookie quarterback,
so he's going to go through some growing pains. But
it doesn't matter who you talk to. And I'm not
the only one who's been critical of it, as Ben Roblsberger.
You know, he's openly talked about it as well, and
he obviously has more equity built up with the Pittsburgh
Steeler fan base.
Speaker 2 (10:53):
So I'm just saying, if.
Speaker 5 (10:55):
The Steelers really want to take a good hard look
at why their offense isn't click on all cylinders, might
want to look at the execution, the scheme and all
that and and how all that's being done with a
guy calling the plays, because that's been going on for
a while now and I don't really see it getting.
Speaker 2 (11:09):
That much better.
Speaker 4 (11:10):
Why is he still there?
Speaker 5 (11:13):
I mean, I think, you know, maybe LeVar could speak
to this better than I. But I think sometimes as
a coach, you become you know, loyal to your assistance.
Speaker 2 (11:23):
Maybe even loyal to a fault.
Speaker 5 (11:26):
It's it's it's hard to move on from guys at times,
and sometimes you know, the grass isn't always greener with
the next guy who comes in. You know, I think
any you know, the tough thing about any you know,
bright butting start, that's an offensive mind, He's only going
to be there for a short amount of time if
he's as advocates do it, yeah, because eventually he's just
going to move on to become head coach shortly. So
(11:48):
I mean, is Matt Cannada getting head coaching interviews?
Speaker 4 (11:51):
I don't recall.
Speaker 1 (11:52):
I don't recall hearing of him getting any type of
interview attention. I've only heard you talk about them, to
be honest, which which is interesting, you know the one
actually yeah, actually, now I'm thinking about it. Yeah, there's
been a couple others. Well, I'm just talking about guys
I respect, I was thinking, but there are a couple
(12:14):
more that actually have brought them up.
Speaker 2 (12:17):
So yeah, I wouldn't be able to speak better to it.
Speaker 1 (12:21):
But I think that there's accuracy to what you're saying,
is that this team could improve under different leadership at
that offensive coordinator role. That's you know it, just the
offense hasn't been up to snuff for a little bit,
you know what, the last two seasons at least.
Speaker 2 (12:45):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (12:46):
So yeah, I mean it's just it's one of those things,
you know, they they maybe they learned the hard way
that uh okay, yeah.
Speaker 2 (12:58):
I can keep coming if you want.
Speaker 1 (12:59):
Oh, there's there's after I stopped that thought about it.
After I stopped that thought about it, you know, you
know anyway, Yeah, I mean we'll see what happens. We'll
see maybe this is the year that his his offense
takes takes whole takes shape.
Speaker 4 (13:17):
So just so we have this clear, Brady Quinn, Ben Roethlisberger,
did I see uh, Terry Bradshaw as well too.
Speaker 2 (13:27):
Steve Smith's in there.
Speaker 5 (13:28):
I mean, just look again, I'm not trying to be
critical of the person. I'm just saying what I see
on film with that offense. It lacks creativity. It lacks
a lot of things, and that's not you know, it's
been that way since he's been a play caller. I
think Steelers fans feel that you watch other offenses, other systems,
(13:48):
you know, you just you see more creativity, you see
more guys running wide open it's not a it's not
a lack of skill or personnel. They've got plenty of
talent and their offensive line they've invested into and it's
much improved. So there's there's just a number of things
that I think aren't really clicking for him, and I
think it has a lot to do with you know,
who's calling the plays in that offense.
Speaker 2 (14:10):
Well.
Speaker 4 (14:10):
I mean the good news is because there's so many
quarterbacks that have been brought back. If it doesn't work
out with Kenny Pickett, Matt Canada, can you spin the
chamber and go right to Trubisky or Mason Rudolph after that,
I mean, they'll be able to get through a season.
Just go from quarterback to quarterbacks. There's enough options there now.
I think Tanner Morgan's also the fourth quarterback there as
well too. I mean, just bring them all in. Let's
bring it like all the great old school Pittsburgh Steelers,
(14:32):
Neil O'Donnell, Bubby Brister, like you name it. Let's just
get them all in. LaVar, come on, let's run the gamut.
Why yeah, what's his?
Speaker 2 (14:40):
Was it?
Speaker 4 (14:41):
Mark Malone? Was he the other Loone? Mike Tom Zach,
Mike Tomzach what a poll see and Ohio guy.
Speaker 2 (14:50):
Good dude, love Mike tom Zach.
Speaker 1 (14:53):
He was always like really cool to me, like when
I was a fan fan and used to go to
the Trabe to see them.
Speaker 4 (15:00):
The Rolling Rock after practice there.
Speaker 1 (15:03):
So it is like, yeah, okay, I mean I was
I wasn't looking at that age that I was hanging
around and watching the Steelers practice.
Speaker 4 (15:13):
But from the glass line tanks of old Latrobe we
present to.
Speaker 1 (15:16):
Thee Yeah, but uh yeah, I mean it was that
he was. He was a cool dude.
Speaker 2 (15:22):
Man.
Speaker 1 (15:22):
I can remember going to those those practices and seeing
Greg Lloyd and and seeing Kevin Green, like to see that,
like to think about it now as an adult, like
it's kind of pretty interesting to think that I got
to see those guys like in practice.
Speaker 2 (15:39):
You know.
Speaker 1 (15:40):
It's like the Steelers had one of those teams that
had figures and you know guys that were just larger
than life man like Bill Cower, I mean, starting with
Bill Kawer.
Speaker 2 (15:50):
It was just they guys were just larger than life man.
Speaker 1 (15:53):
But Mike Tomsach was like Mike Tomzach was the one
who came up to me that wasn't how high school.
He came up to me doing during one of the practices,
like I know who you are, you know what I mean?
Speaker 2 (16:07):
I was like, man, that is pretty freaking cool. Man.
Like he was like, yeah, man, I'll be coming to
your gaze.
Speaker 1 (16:12):
And I had known that like a few Steelers because
I'd played in my high school is where a lot
of the Steelers lived, and so like I had heard of,
like you know, when when Steelers would show up and
come to the games, people would say, you know such
and such a looking around and such and such a
and they used to say Tom Zac used to come
(16:34):
to a lot of our games.
Speaker 2 (16:35):
So it's pretty cool, man, it's pretty cool.
Speaker 1 (16:37):
Getting acknowledged by Tom Zack was really like he had
lasting impression on me as a younger dude, just because
of how he treated me.
Speaker 4 (16:46):
By the way, how about this, Mike tom Zach kind
of ties this whole show together all right, Ohio State
obviously in Columbus, not far from Dublin where Brady grew up.
Pittsburgh Steeler. You know, Levars beloved team when he was
a child, and and he was born in Illinois, just
like me. So like I just see how that whole no,
(17:09):
not Mammoth is.
Speaker 2 (17:10):
Definitely not you were born in Illinois.
Speaker 4 (17:13):
Listen. I mean you can kind of say that, you
kind of say that cal you met city, I believe,
so not Mammoth and not mom.
Speaker 5 (17:20):
So hold on, what do you mean you could kind
of say that like you were just either born where
you were born or you weren't.
Speaker 4 (17:25):
Right, I've got ties there were ties there.
Speaker 2 (17:28):
I mean, were you born there or not.
Speaker 4 (17:30):
Listen, I mean, I'm not here to split hairs. Some
would say technically I was born in southern California, but
I've got family in Illinois and that's where the roots lie.
So I'm gonna go ahead and count that and round up.
So I'm gonna count.
Speaker 5 (17:40):
By like the southern California community because you don't claim it,
and you keep trying to claim somewhere that you weren't
born you've never lived.
Speaker 4 (17:50):
Mike Tom's that guy. He tried to claim Mexico too.
Could First of all, you're mad, bro hold on a second, bird.
Speaker 5 (17:58):
That's because he told me one time he feels like
he's conquered, you know that country.
Speaker 4 (18:03):
That's not.
Speaker 2 (18:10):
What he took over a conquist the door.
Speaker 4 (18:15):
Yeah, like Brady tried to call me the mexecutioner one
time and I said, off, knock it off right now?
That was That was Floyd Mayweather.
Speaker 2 (18:26):
Roger remember.
Speaker 4 (18:33):
Sadio. It is Two Pros and a Cup of Joe
here on Fox Sports Radio, LeVar Arrington, Brady Quinn, Jonas
snocks with you, and you can listen to this show
as always on the iHeart Radio app. And you probably
listened to that all the way down to Mexico, I believe,
on the iHeart Radio app. All right, So coming up
next though, interesting inside details on how a deal got
(18:55):
done in the National Football League. We'll have those for you.
That's next.
Speaker 6 (19:00):
Be sure to catch live editions of Two Pros and
a Cup of Joe with Brady Quinn, LeVar Errington and
Jonas Knox weekdays at six am Eastern three am Pacific
on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio App. Be sure
to catch live editions of Two Pros and a Cup
of Joe with Brady Quinn, LeVar Errington and Jonas Knox
(19:21):
weekdays at six am Eastern, three am Pacific on Fox
Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio App.
Speaker 4 (19:28):
Two Pros and a Cup of Joe, Fox Sports Radio,
LeVar Arrington, Brady Quinn Jonas Knox with you here coming up,
we'll call it about twenty minutes from now from these
tirerack dot Com studios. We are going to have some
over unders, all right, So we're gonna have some over
unders as we get you set for a busy weekend
in the world of sports and beyond. So those will
be yours here again twenty minutes from now here on FSR,
(19:50):
also going to tabulate some of the numbers, some of
the scores from the golfers that we selected out of
a hat yesterday here on the show, which is always
a fun little experienceperience. Nobody seems to ever win except
for Eddie and LeVar in those situations for some reason.
So it feels like that's where this is probably gonna
be a.
Speaker 2 (20:08):
Live bit one time and it was Eddie at one.
Speaker 4 (20:11):
Yeah, but you're only as good as your last time,
you know, or.
Speaker 2 (20:14):
So, But why'd you throw me in there?
Speaker 4 (20:15):
I didn't win, Yeah, but you usually went over unders.
Speaker 2 (20:18):
Okay, I'm just listen.
Speaker 4 (20:21):
I'm trying to be positive here.
Speaker 2 (20:23):
Yeah. No, no, no, that's cool. What do you do?
Speaker 4 (20:25):
What's the problem?
Speaker 2 (20:26):
No problem?
Speaker 4 (20:28):
Who's he talking to? So before we get to the
update on our scores from the PGA Championship. There was
a fun little video that made the rounds yesterday in
which they showed the Giants war room, the draft room,
if you will call it, and just sort of the
movements and the things that they were doing to try
(20:48):
and make sure they landed the players they want. So
they ended up drafting center John Michael schmidz At, a
Minnesota wide receiver Jalen Hyatt from Tennessee, but they had
to move back up to take Hyatt because there was
some concern that maybe he wouldn't be there. There was
a trade with the Bears that was involved, and sort
of they release his video and the discussion back and
(21:09):
forth between Joe Shane, between Brian Dayball, the head coach,
Dayball texting Sean McVeagh at some point to see whether
or not they could work out a deal to move
back up to take Hyatt. All of this did was
reconfirmed to me. I got to get to a draft room.
I want to be in an NFL draft room so bad.
It's right up there with I got to see a
(21:30):
tornado in person. I want to be in an NFL
draft room because the way this whole thing was done,
and it's on Twitter. You go to cbssports dot com
and find the link to it as well too. Just
to see the stress that Joe Shane had. And my
favorite part was when Brian Dayball looks at Joe Shane
and just says, all right, so, I mean we want
two players. We're either going to get a guy who's
(21:51):
gonna start at center for us, or we'll land Jalen Hyatt,
I mean whatever, like, no big deal. And just to
see how everything worked out and how they kind of
navigated around that whole situation. We got to get into
a draft room. This show lie from the draft rooms.
Speaker 5 (22:05):
I think the question is what are you willing Jonas
to do in order to get.
Speaker 2 (22:09):
Into that draft room? I mean, I'll pay That's where
the conversation starts.
Speaker 1 (22:15):
Okay, I think they would care about that, though you
don't think they would care about that.
Speaker 2 (22:19):
I mean, how much you wanted to pay?
Speaker 4 (22:21):
Okay, what's a reasonable price to pay. I'll get you
two hundred bucks.
Speaker 2 (22:29):
Yeah, I don't think that's gonna do it.
Speaker 4 (22:30):
Okay, what do you what price do you think would
get me in a war room or a draft room.
Speaker 5 (22:34):
I'm gonna say it's gonna be thousands, and let's move
off that, because I just I don't think.
Speaker 2 (22:39):
You're gonna be willing to pay that.
Speaker 5 (22:40):
So what are you willing to do in order to
get in that draft room?
Speaker 2 (22:48):
You want to give them some like winning, winning, you
know options?
Speaker 4 (22:53):
See, I think that you're trying to allude to, potentially,
in just a nasty rumor that's out there, that I
was willing to do something if Tony Romo got a
certain amount of money from CBS.
Speaker 5 (23:04):
And that's again, I wasn't saying that. I'm just saying,
what would you be willing to do in this case
in order to make that.
Speaker 4 (23:10):
Happen to sit in a draft room. I would be
willing to, Oh, Man, tell you what I'd be willing
to do. I would be willing to participate in your
charity golf tournament in salmon pants, salmon colored pants.
Speaker 5 (23:26):
I don't think that's getting you in either, Like what
does that have to do with what we're talking about?
Speaker 4 (23:29):
Because I'm willing to sacrifice my appearance and my presence
fashion wise to make sure that I can get in
a draft war room. That's what I'm willing to do.
Very interesting, and I'll pay two hundred dollars. I'll add
the two hundred dollars on top of that.
Speaker 5 (23:43):
You know that's that's not really moving or I'm hoping
you come up with something more creative, but this is
just falling.
Speaker 4 (23:47):
From you well because I know, I think, I know
where you're trying to go with this, and I don't want.
Speaker 2 (23:51):
To trying to go go where he's trying to go.
Speaker 4 (23:53):
I don't want to go where he's trying to go.
Speaker 5 (23:55):
I'm going thinking a lot of assumptions right now. I'm
just trying to figure out what you're willing to do.
You keep talking us up. What are you willing to do?
Speaker 4 (24:04):
All right, forget about all that, because this is going
to enter into a dark place and I don't know
anybody's ready for that on a Friday morning. See, the
problem is you guys. You guys can't relate because you
know what it's like to get your name called in
the first round of the draft. So you're on a pedestal.
The rest of us peons, the rest of us also
(24:27):
rans who have never been drafted in anything. We just
want to feel and know what the moment is like
and what the situation is like. And I'm telling you
if we pull some strings. You guys have enough goodwill
within the National Football League. I'm telling you, we could
make this happen and be inside a draft war room
because the way that whole thing was broken down on
(24:47):
the giant social media and the way they put this
thing out was fantastic. And just to see the stress
levels of everybody and then the celebration when they landed
who they wanted that Like all the crap we here,
all the rumors, the bogus reports that are out there
before the draft, I want to see what it's like
behind the scenes when we find out, oh yeah, that
(25:07):
was all crap. Like I want to see Mike Vrabel
get pissed when he finds out in real time as
the camera's in the draft room, oh yeah, we traded
away aj Brown. Like, I want to be in the
room for all of that stuff, because that was fascinating
to watch yesterday how day Ball and Joe Shane navigated
that whole situation.
Speaker 5 (25:25):
I think that's part of the reason though, why you're
not going to get in the room, because people probably
wouldn't trust you to witness all that and not say
anything or you know, not make up some sort of
ridiculous lie about what actually took time.
Speaker 2 (25:37):
I'm not a canary mine.
Speaker 4 (25:39):
You know that.
Speaker 2 (25:40):
You're a chucky no snitch in here.
Speaker 4 (25:43):
That's insulting.
Speaker 2 (25:44):
You're a chucky cheese.
Speaker 4 (25:45):
That is insulting.
Speaker 2 (25:47):
Look, I gave you a chance to try to find
some other way.
Speaker 4 (25:50):
I told you I'd pay two hundred bucks. If that's
not enough, they can kiss my ass. They got enough
money the NFL does.
Speaker 1 (25:55):
That's not enough. How are you going to take that
heart of a stand? It's jonas You're to get into
their war rooms?
Speaker 4 (26:06):
What are you willing to pay for it? You guys
don't do you guys have any interest in going to
a draft.
Speaker 2 (26:11):
Room and only to see your face? Why, you know,
only to see how you'd react to it.
Speaker 4 (26:18):
I would sit there and mind my own business.
Speaker 2 (26:20):
You know, would watch it.
Speaker 4 (26:22):
I just hang out.
Speaker 2 (26:24):
True.
Speaker 5 (26:26):
This is the guy that just chills at the corner
of the room, doesn't say a word.
Speaker 2 (26:30):
Literally, Hey, we're at a friendly setting. Feel free to
say hw do people introduce yourself? I'm good, doesn't do.
Speaker 1 (26:37):
Every once in a while he takes a knee though.
You know he is a knee taker.
Speaker 4 (26:41):
Well, I'm a gentleman. I met I met Levar's wife
and I shook her hand and bent the knee and
his daughter like a true gentleman. That's what I do. Okay,
class act through and through.
Speaker 1 (26:56):
Well, I'm glad you bent the knee on real turf. Yeah,
grew real grass.
Speaker 2 (27:01):
Ye.
Speaker 1 (27:02):
You know, if it was artificial, you might have caught
a knee injury doing it. So and you think about
thirty two more non contact knee injuries take place on
artificial turf. So American grass seat company Pennington is on
a mission to band turf field with their hashtag flip
the Turf movement. So go to Pennington dot com slash
flip the Turf now to learn more and sign the
(27:24):
petition for teams to hashtag flip the turf to real grass.
Speaker 4 (27:29):
All right, So, speaking of real grass, there's real grass
at the PGA Championship. And if some of these golfers
don't perform, well, their asses grass. You know what I'm saying.
Lead to lap Where do we stand? We drew from
a hat yesterday? Was that your hat we drew from? Also?
Speaker 7 (27:43):
That is yes, it was my hat.
Speaker 4 (27:45):
Yeah. I think everybody's hands smelled like Todd afterwards. But
the point is we all drew from Lee's hat yesterday.
Names for the PGA Championship at Oak Hill or oak Lawn,
whatever they want to call today. And what are the
results after the first round in early to the second
round right now.
Speaker 7 (28:03):
Well, right now, we'll just start from the back of
the pack. Jason Day was picked by Roberto. Jason Day
showed up to the course without practicing at all, so
you might guess that he didn't shoot that well. He
actually actually is plus six and tied for one hundred
and fifteenth.
Speaker 4 (28:18):
Why didn't he practice? He?
Speaker 7 (28:20):
Uh, I think he's a bombs one.
Speaker 2 (28:22):
He just won last week. Jeez, burro, he literally just
won millions last week.
Speaker 4 (28:29):
Don't be lazy. Let my daughter miss a practice.
Speaker 5 (28:35):
Come on, he might have some other, you know, conflicts
and things going on in his life.
Speaker 4 (28:41):
It's no excuse. We drew from a hat.
Speaker 7 (28:43):
He said he was exhausted and fatigued, probably.
Speaker 4 (28:47):
From winning the week before.
Speaker 7 (28:48):
Jeez, oh, lazy, not acceptable, wavele guys. Also, uh, Patrick
Cantley for Brady. You picked Patrick Catley and LaVar. You
guys picked Cameron Young. You guys are tied plus or
over tied for seventy sixth.
Speaker 2 (29:02):
You guys. Okay, well, we've got some work to do, lavarn,
A little bit of work. That's that's. That's okay. Let's
find out what Jonas is at.
Speaker 7 (29:09):
Jonas and Eddie are also tied. Jonas you pick Xander
Xander Scheffler, and Eddie picked Brooks Koepka. You guys are
plus two and for me, I am in the lead.
I picked Scotti Scheffler, who was the only one under
party's minus three. He's tied for second, and of course
Bryson de Shambo's in first right now, minus four?
Speaker 4 (29:25):
How about that?
Speaker 2 (29:27):
I thought Cole was in first?
Speaker 4 (29:30):
Who is in first?
Speaker 2 (29:31):
Eric Cole or something like that. I don't know.
Speaker 7 (29:33):
Eric Cole is also tied for second. He's already shot
for He's already shot today.
Speaker 2 (29:38):
Yeah, he's three shot today.
Speaker 7 (29:40):
Yeah, yep, he's already out there.
Speaker 2 (29:42):
Reonder they started before. It's an early tea time.
Speaker 4 (29:45):
Because I think it got a They didn't finish yesterday, right,
because it got dark. That's correct, Yeah, they got plenty.
Speaker 5 (29:51):
I'm just trying to figure out what will be the
first tea time where you can see well enough to play.
Speaker 4 (29:55):
I mean, that's what's great about uh, Eddie being here
he can provide us all the details on that serious
the course of the show here.
Speaker 7 (30:01):
This is actually through sixteen.
Speaker 4 (30:02):
Yeah, I don't know. I don't know why Leave's trying
to take Eddie spot here. I mean, this is insulting, disrespectful.
I can't believe it is. But speaking of White. For
all the latest from the PGA Championship, it is Eddie Garcia.
Speaker 8 (30:14):
Thanks Jonas. We'll start with the PGA Championship where they
are concluding the first round after yesterday's opening day of
action was suspended because of a couple of hours of
delay due to frost on the ground. So they are
wrapping up. But Eric Cole did have the lead, but
oh double bogie the first hole of the day today
(30:35):
you follow it up with a PARBA right now. As
Lee mentioned, he is now one shot back, tied with
four other players at three under, parts of Bryson des
Chambeau currently your leader at four under. We had the
NBA playoffs resuming last night with the Game two of
the Western Conference Finals. Nuggets were trailing the Lakers at
home to start the fourth quarter, but then outscored LA
in that final quarter thirty two to twenty four. Jamal
(30:56):
Murray thirty seven points, twenty three of those points coming
in that final fourth quarter in Nikoliokicha another triple double
twenty three points, seventeen rebounds twelve assists in the win
for Denver. For La, Lebron James and Austin Reeves each
had twenty two points Anthony Davis eighteen points on four
of fifteen shooting from the field. Denver with a two
zero series lead, They're eight to oh at home this postseason.
Game number three coming up Saturday in La, where the
(31:18):
Lakers have yet to lose at home. Six to zero.
NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs opening game of the Eastern Conference
Finals in Raleigh, North Carolina decided in the final seconds
of a fourth overtime. Panthers got a Matthew Kuchuck gold
in sudden death for the three to two victory over
the Hurricanes. The goalies combined to stop eighty consecutive shots
in the overtimes before the game winning goal. Winning goalie
(31:40):
Sergatelebrowski at sixty five saves in nets So, Flourida with
a one zero series lead, winning the sixth longest playoff
game in NHL history. Now back to Brady Quinn. The
bar Ringtona, Jonas Knox and the tirerack dot Com Fox
Sports Radio Studio.
Speaker 4 (31:52):
Thanks Eddie. By the way, Eddie, did you see Patrick
Mahomes is trying to sell the city of Kansas City
to the Coyotes because apparently they're NHI team is tired
of playing in front of thirteen people and so.
Speaker 8 (32:03):
Well, I think their fans are probably also tired of
having a crappy hockey team to watch it having to
drive out to Glendale for a few years. But yes,
I did see that, Jonas.
Speaker 2 (32:12):
What's the plan right now? They're going to play it
like a temporary venue in Tempee? Is that is that right? Yeah?
Speaker 8 (32:16):
They're playing at the Arizona State brand new facility, which
is like three thousand, two thousand plats. They played their
last year. They're going to play there this coming year
and after that. Who knows.
Speaker 4 (32:25):
It's like an echl Arena, maybe a little smaller. Actually, yeah,
it actually is because North Charleston was five thousand, I
think five or eight thousand, So.
Speaker 8 (32:33):
It's always about Charleston.
Speaker 4 (32:34):
Well, listen, I mean that's where America started, you know,
as far as I'm concerned in Charleston. Yeah, I don't know,
but so as far as they go, they can't share
the arena with the Suns because I remember you, they.
Speaker 8 (32:48):
Do have a new owner the Suns. Remember it's Nicola
Oakus's buddy, so maybe he might be open to.
Speaker 4 (32:55):
A little something something as long as they pay the
right price. Well of course, okay, I mean because remember
the Penguins. They almost took LeVar and Ice Penguins from
Pittsburgh to Kansas City. That was a real move, that
was a real threat that that was gonna happen years ago.
I think Mario mu stepped.
Speaker 8 (33:09):
In Hamilton, Ontario is another possible destination too.
Speaker 4 (33:12):
Yeah, mentioned the Penguins in Kansas City. That's depressing, doesn't
even sound right?
Speaker 2 (33:18):
Okay, but what about the Coyotes?
Speaker 4 (33:21):
Maybe would they be better off in Arizona or Kansas City? Eddie?
Speaker 8 (33:25):
I think if they move anywhere, they'd go to Houston. Oh,
h Town got an owner there that the owner of
the Rockets is it for Tita has said he's he's
willing to let him play there at the arena where
the Rockets play.
Speaker 2 (33:39):
What a mess?
Speaker 4 (33:39):
You think there are any Coyote fans left?
Speaker 8 (33:42):
I'm sure there are a hearty few, but the team
has not made it easy on them, that's for sure.
Speaker 4 (33:46):
Yeah, yeah, so it's unfortunate. All right, So there it is.
That is your update on the Arizona Coyotes potentially going
to Kansas City. Here on this show, I mean, there's
nothing we can't do. You talking about a well rounded

Speaker 4 (35:42):
How do we do last week?
Speaker 7 (35:43):
First guys, Last week we had talked about nix at heats.
The over under on that Friday game was two and
a half two eight and a half. Jonas and LeVar,
You guys were correct with the under where MIAMIOK took
the series ninety six ninety two. We also looked at
the Panthers at maple LEAs. Brady was correct that the
UH Panthers would end the series there, it would not
(36:06):
go past Game five. And then lastly, LeVar was correct
that Warriors at Lakers Anthony Davis would score under twenty
four and a half on that Friday game. He scored seventeen.
LeVar took last week?
Speaker 4 (36:17):
What I tell you?
Speaker 2 (36:18):
What up? LeVar?
Speaker 7 (36:19):
What a street going?
Speaker 2 (36:20):
What? What? Hey? Hey?
Speaker 7 (36:23):
I was killing it, LeVar?
Speaker 2 (36:25):
Thank you? Cereal?
Speaker 6 (36:26):
What up?
Speaker 2 (36:26):
Harrington? Cereal? How many of these do we do? I mean?
Do we just do it by day?
Speaker 5 (36:31):
Is that how this works? What do you mean like
these OAP runners for last Friday when we did them?
Speaker 4 (36:36):
Yeah last week, Lee? I think Lee just picked the
ones that were the most noteworthy because we do five
a week.
Speaker 7 (36:42):
That is correct. Everybody was wrong. Everybody picked the under
on the Renegades versus Defenders. That game did go over
the forty eight points?
Speaker 2 (36:49):
Hey how about big game, Bob Stoops? Yeah, yeah, laws
for the guy coming up big. All he does is win.
Speaker 4 (36:55):
By the way, you think Bob Stoops had a cocktail
after that game?
Speaker 2 (36:58):
Or now?
Speaker 4 (36:59):
Hell yeah out what about during the game they get.
Speaker 2 (37:04):
Be professional?
Speaker 1 (37:05):
Yeah, professional hip flask?
Speaker 4 (37:10):
Wait, what do you say a little hip flask?
Speaker 5 (37:14):
Yeah, how do you have a well, how do you
know about that little back pocket?
Speaker 2 (37:19):
I don't know about that trick right now? Katie on
the sideline, Yeah.
Speaker 4 (37:30):
That is hopper, Yeah, just having a flask of what
was it that flask? What is your go to in
a flask?
Speaker 2 (37:36):
Lee?
Speaker 4 (37:36):
Whiskey?
Speaker 7 (37:37):
Uh, it could be whiskey or sometimes tequila, but whiskey.
Speaker 2 (37:42):
Jeez. All right, let's let's get into this.
Speaker 7 (37:46):
Depends what depends on the event? All right, guys, heat
at Celtics game too. Jimmy Butler points, rebounds and assists
over under forty.
Speaker 2 (37:53):
And a half Wait for all those combined, that is correct. Over. Yeah,
I'm gonna go over.
Speaker 4 (38:03):
I'll take the under.
Speaker 2 (38:05):
Got use let's see here, Boston lost?
Speaker 4 (38:09):
Got a hont there? Okay, listen, don't copy off my paper.
Don't copy off my paper. All right, you're not gonna
get the answers here from this test from me? Lee,
I got this under control. I'm gonna take the under
lead under.
Speaker 7 (38:23):
Moving on to Game three Saturday between the Nuggets and Lakers,
Jokic same thing, points, rebounds and assists over under set
at fifty two and a half.
Speaker 2 (38:34):
That's a big number.
Speaker 4 (38:35):
If he goes twenty ten and ten, it hits the
under by a lot.
Speaker 2 (38:40):
Right, I mean the thing is hit what's seventeen three
pounds last year?
Speaker 4 (38:46):
Yeah? First all, the fact that that's the number tells
you how good he is. That it's fifty two and
a half, and.
Speaker 2 (38:52):
It's take the under. I still think you posted, but.
Speaker 4 (38:59):
Like thirty five, ten and five, you hit the under.
I'm gonna take the under as well too.
Speaker 2 (39:04):
Lakers have to hit one of these games, right.
Speaker 4 (39:06):
Yes, they do.
Speaker 2 (39:08):
I'm gonna take the under.
Speaker 7 (39:11):
Damn all right, fellas, we got Stanley Cupp Conference Final
Stars at Golden Knights.
Speaker 2 (39:16):
Who cares game one and.
Speaker 7 (39:19):
Really care about the Cats and dollars five and a
half over under under.
Speaker 4 (39:28):
I'll take the under as well too. It was nice
seeing a three to two hockey game last night.
Speaker 2 (39:33):
Take that many overtimes too.
Speaker 4 (39:35):
You appreciate that, Yeah, I just I love low scoring
hockey in the playoffs.
Speaker 5 (39:39):
I would have been fine after the first overtime, after
we got the result in the fourth overtime, that's like
after the first I'm like, you know what, thinking back
on it, they should have just ended it that.
Speaker 4 (39:48):
By the way, Wayne Gretzky wanted no part of that
outter about one over time.
Speaker 7 (39:53):
Guys, eight horses in the Preakness post position for the
winner four and a half.
Speaker 4 (39:59):
Under, there might be four an app deaths. I'm gonna
take the overly.
Speaker 1 (40:08):
I'm gonna take the over. Oh lord, I'm gonna take
the under now one down.
Speaker 7 (40:14):
Finally, Devin Haney versus Lomachenko ten and a half.
Speaker 4 (40:18):
Is the over under one rounds, oh under, I'll take
the over. I'm gonna take the not exactly knockout punchers.
Speaker 2 (40:29):
It's gonna be this one.
Speaker 4 (40:30):
It will be a knockout LaVar.
Speaker 3 (40:32):
Who you got in at?
Speaker 4 (40:33):
You you want Loma?
Speaker 2 (40:34):
I got Haney.
Speaker 4 (40:35):
I'll take Loma with.
Speaker 5 (40:36):
The plus decision, dumb truck fists, damn.
Speaker 2 (40:43):
Get off my stick man.
Speaker 3 (40:45):
