(00:47):
we got somebody dispelling a major rumor in the world
of football. We will get into all of that coming
up here in just a couple of moments from now.
It is Two Pros and a Cup of Jones, LaVar Arrington,
It's Brady Quinn, It's Jonas Knox. Really here on Fox

(01:09):
doing so, as we take you all the way up
until nine am Eastern times six o'clock Pacific. Right here
on FS are guys, the rumor season in the world
of college football is often running off and running. At
what point is that Bob Stoops gonna get a call
while you're on the set of Big New Kickoff Brady
Quinn to try and come back. It's a great question,

(01:29):
and that's that's one of the things I love about
having coach Stoops is it keeps people interested in our
show because every every time one of these jobs comes open,
you know l s U for example, is going to
come open at the end of the year, You've got
some interest, right, you know, so it keeps it relevant.
You know, our competitor cannot say that. The only thing
they could say is, you know, maybe if there's you know,
someone looking to put a big mascot helmet on their head.

(01:56):
Levy from Brady Quinn now Jimbo who three yes, the
same answers before a fight. I gotta go. I think
sen serves um yees was a little different than yeah,

(02:17):
well listen, I mean you got any was a little
bit more raw. His was blue magic, e A S.
Yours was something other blue magic. Can you imagine that?
That's like, you know, you need to special access to
get to that part of the a s page to
get the blue magic. All right. So the reason we
talked about these coaching openings in the world of college

(02:38):
football is that does several seem to be popping up.
You've got guys that are on the hot seat, things
that are taking place at oars aron Is out at
l s U UM. You know a lot of a
lot of rumors out there that we discussed yesterday on
the show when it comes to Edo and and just
sort of what was going on there in Baton Rouge.
Jimbo Fisher of Texas A and M. He was asked

(02:59):
about the potential of an L s U spot for him,
if that would be something he would be interested in,
and he gave a classic answer yesterday to the media.
I'm gonna say this right now, and and I don't
want it's in October, right and I love being here.
This is my the job I want to I'm being here.
I got a great contract, I have an unbelievable chancellor,
have an unbelieable president, unbelievable a d that we're building something.

(03:20):
We're recruiting great players. I really believe we're on the
process of building something great. I plan on being here
and fulfilling this contract and doing everything. My family has
roots here. I got ranches here, I hunt here. I
love everything about this place. And and I and you
don't and listen, And I say that because because listen
nothing there's nothing going on there is there nothing happening there.
And I don't be disrespectful to anybody else. I coached there.

(03:41):
It was a great place. We want national championships. It
is one of the best in the best places. And
it's a wonderful place. I love being an ame him
and I planned on being an a m here and
filling my whole contract. I love everything about this place.
And let me tell you something out and the way
this place has embraced me and my family and including
our foundation, the things are going on with our foundation,
the way that people have embraced it, the way people

(04:01):
have done everything here in College Station. I love everything
about the people here, the administration here and everybody in
charge here and the people who run this organization. And
I love it here. That's how it's done, right there, folks,
That's how it's done. Clause that something. That's how you
get raised, folks. Right there, that is how it's done.
Damn right well, it's it's it's actually not um. How

(04:23):
you actually get a raise is you leave some speculation
out there. You know, you actually make it seem like
you've coached there before. You may leave to go there.
It is within your SEC West division. So that's actually
how you get raised. You gotta threaten people like, hey,
if you like what I'm doing so far, just knocked

(04:44):
off the number one team in the country this year. Yeah,
I can make that a more regular thing, but I
could do it for someone else. That's how you get
push back. I'm gonna push back on you on this one.
I think you you also this is personal, It's come
from a personal play. Well, I mean it's possible, but

(05:05):
this is directly related to James frankl Is. You know,
to to kill people with kindness and to let them
know how much you buy into it and how much
you believe in it. I think that ultimately puts a
lot of pressure on the university as well, because if
you're having that level of success and you've made it
known to the public that you want to be there,

(05:25):
then now you've really put all of the pressure on
the school. And and and then in a different manner
of saying, well, I'm going to entertain it and I'm
going to look at it. You know, who knows what
the future holds. But if you say, listen, I hunt here,
I love it here. I do all these things here.
I I've put roots down here. You you have you
have appealed to to the common man who is a fan.

(05:50):
And I could put a lot of pressure on the
university and be like, what are you doing? How are
you going to let him go? Give him the money?
Like let's go. Yeah, it's just like a player, you know,
as a players us to the free agency, where can
they make on the free agent market? Or you know, listen, Brady,
you know he's he's representing the common man. You know,
that's my approach to the show. I'm resenting the common

(06:10):
man here. You know, it might be personal with James
Franklin and people you know sniffing around there. LaVar does
feel a little bit on edge when it comes to
James frank very protective here. There's an l you're coming
open at James Franklo don't like it. And I just
hate that he's the first name that everybody wants to

(06:31):
throw up. Like everybody's sitting there talking about oh, jimbo Fisher.
He says all that because he knows they want James Franklin.
You know all these people at USC they throw a
name out, but you know it's like James Franklin, like
leave him alone? Is l s U and upgrade over
is L s U and up Can I just put
this out there? Can I? Can? I just put this
out there? Like and and maybe it's to a much

(06:53):
smaller degree because I'm like, I'm still dealing with some
petty mess from the school I used to coach at.
So it's so crazy the things that that like, people
that like I don't know anyway. So here's the thing, right,
what jimbo Fisher said about being having a close relationship
with the chancellor and and being close with the school

(07:16):
and and understanding you know, how they do things and
the support that they give those things are invaluable in
some situations. I'd rather take less money in a situation
where I know that the leadership is what it's supposed
to be, Versus take a ton of money and the
leadership is poor. Poor quality leadership leads to you looking

(07:39):
for a job sooner than later. Well, that strong leadership
is longevity, right that, Yeah, yeah, yeah, pregnant pregnant women.
But we're talking about Jimbo. We're not talking about Oderon.
But if I don't think Jimbo did hit on anyone
at the gas station, so that might I don't believe
he did either, but I don't know that. Can I

(08:01):
get you a roll gold. Here's what I'll say though,
in regards to James Franklin or Jimbo Fisher or Bob Stoops, right,
like I work with coach Stoops. First off, if if
he was to go leave to take on that opportunity,
no different than Urban Meyer, I'd say, Okay, yeah, it's awesome.

(08:22):
Like if you want to go back into it, you
feel like you still want to get into go like
like you want that for people because there is something special, Lavre.
You know this, Like there's something special about coaching. There's
something special about being involved in the game to that degree.
Like I get that. And if you can leverage it
to make more money too, by the way, more power
to you. But like like that's where you exercise your

(08:44):
your leverage and your opportunity as a businessman to say
I have this opportunity, I'm contemplating it, you know, to
make things harder if you gave me a better offer,
because I'd love to stay here, but like it's kind
of hard to turn down that offer because of how
much more they're willing to pay me and what that

(09:04):
opportunity is. Now. At some point, like a network for example,
might say, well, this is the most we're willing to
give you, and then you just gotta make a decision.
But like when you're a coach and you're in one
situation looking at another, like, yeah, you don't get many
opportunities to leverage that when you're desired and wanted, because
we we can see how quickly it will turn. I mean,

(09:26):
ed Ords are on case in point. The dude won
a national championship less than two years ago, arguably one
of the greatest seasons ever. And and like, by the way,
I see all these people talking about how, oh it
was a toxic culture and all the stuff. Really so
with all the people who have who sat out and
who were injured, weren't playing for LSU this past week,
yet they still go and beat the crap out of Florida,

(09:49):
Like what do you attribute that to? Then? Like they
didn't they didn't know the rumors about their head coach
and they don't want to play for their head coach.
Like that's the other thing is like, yeah, I understand
there's some misconduct off the field to mere job. It
is because this had everything to do with the athletic
director saying I want my own guy. This isn't my
own guy. I don't like the direction of where this
program is scoring right now. He's not my guy. I'm

(10:10):
gonna find a rap sheet of things I can put
against him and go find my guy. Okay, great, but
let's not like, let's not act like this past weekend
wasn't an example of that team could have laid down,
they could have gotten their their butts kicked by Florida.
They did. It was the exact opposite. Joe Burrow at
the Heisman ceremony cried his eyes out talking about at

(10:33):
Orgron and what he meant to him and just what
the impact he had on his career. So I also
don't buy into this idea that he's just walking around,
you know, hitting on everything. Now. Is he active off
the field at pictures and stories? Would say yes, but
you know what, he's not married anymore, and that that's
not really our business. So if it's full of testosterone, Yes,

(10:54):
a lot of testosteron. I mean what you know, what
you wanted to do? I mean he's got you know,
he's the king of Baton Rouge. I mean he's just
want a national title like that. Yeah, and listen, there's
some of that are's well too going on. Um you know, uh,
the human gas pump. If you will, now LaVar, I
would ask you this, Um, if you had to sell
James Franklin on why he should stay at penn State

(11:18):
as opposed to going to l s U, Like, what
would you what would you say to James Franklin right
now if you had to talk to him, what would
you say to m LaVar? Like, if there's something you
had to say, I've had conversations with him, come on
and and you know, you just you just got to
understand this man that there are very few special that
that exists, you know, as it applies to college college

(11:40):
atmospheres and and that's that's Pennsylvania. And you know, for
what it's worth, he should understand that just as good
as anybody else, because that's where he's from. He's a
p A guy. His background is p A. His his
roots are from the Hill District of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He
played out I believe East Straussburg College. Yea, his roots

(12:01):
are in Pennsylvania. He is a Pennsylvania and the greatest
school to do amazing. It's just throw in Pennsylvania. In Pennsylvania,
you know, is penn State. I mean, let's pit pit
head their hey day with Major's back. I need more.
I need more from you, LaVar. This is not selling.

(12:25):
Come on, LaVar, sew men. I will say this to you, guys.
He wanted to get approved the rights to be or
the plans to build. You guys are so you you're
throwing me off. It's so funny. Does feel so much
pressure because look, you guys are joking to hear this.

(12:45):
Look this is the pigs. Let me tell you something.
If I have to sell somebody on Chucky cheese, I
do a better job than this, right now, Come on, Lavart,
you guys are joking. This is a for real thing
going on, right We know this is real to me?
Are yeah? Right? Anyways, that didn't help get I was

(13:06):
a vocal voice and and the team and in the
school getting approved the budget to to expand on the
weight room and the facility. You know that I have been.
I have been helping assist in the build out of
what we're going on in terms of support and verbal
verbal acknowledgement of what what needs to happen. So frank

(13:28):
needs support. Though they got to support them, there has
to be more support from the boosters. There has to
be more support in terms of us being able to
finance keeping up with Major League UH endowed and and
supported teams. So I mean that would be the biggest
reason if James Franklin were to leave. There are things
behind the scenes that would be the reason why he

(13:49):
would leave, and I just happened to be aware of
some of those things. All Right, we're moving on from Penceton.
We're gonna move on from Tell me that is which
is a better job between L s U and you see,
because those are the two top jobs right now that
are on the market. You know, I don't know if
it was you that made the point or if it
was someone else that made the and maybe I didn't

(14:13):
even put you into equation. It might have been somebody
else outside of outside of the show. But I would
probably today say L s U would be the better job.
Um and and just because it's in the sec UM
and and just the drawl and the allure of what
you could do. Recruiting wise, at l s u USC

(14:35):
used to be considered the main deal, the main job,
the best gig to get. But that was before all
of these other teams settled in here. You know, you
got the Rams here, you got the Chargers here, and
they're playing well, so there's a you know, they're not
the only show in town. They're not the the only
you know, they're not the celebrities anymore. They're not the

(14:55):
protect anymore. I did say that, and by the way,
I've said that to a number of people, and it's
like because we were having this conversation with Petro's and
he kind of pushed back a little bit, like I'm like,
I'm sorry, dude, Like I understand, we want to act
like Southern Cow is a sleeping giant, but it's not
gonna be what it was with Matt and Reggie. Like
that was a very unique period in time. Were the

(15:16):
Lakers who were dealing with the kind of Kobe stuff,
the Dodgers were down. You didn't have two professional sports teams.
It was an entirely different circumstance than what you're presented
with now in l A. There's a lot of a competition.
It's a tough market to get people in the stands anyway.
And I also wonder this, like how much has college
football and football in general taking a hit on the

(15:39):
West Coast, not just in l A, but anywhere like anywhere?
Like how much is it taken a hit over the
past two decades where you know, there were concerns at
one point about CT Now we've got people who are
getting concusted a game and coming right back to next week.
I'm not sure what the hell happened there, um, but
there's plenty examples of it. But but I do think
there was a hit where you're not seeing quite as

(16:01):
many kids as as involved or a part of the
sport as it once was. But that's that's for another
conversation another day. But laure I'm with you. I think
l s u is A is a better job if
you want to win right away. I mean, and I
think we can all agree here on two pros and
a cup of Joe that if you know, if you're
gonna acquire one of these big time head coaches, it's
gonna cost a lot of money, like a million bucks
at least, and speaking of a million bucks, do you

(16:23):
want to look like a million bucks but only spend
a handful of bucks? Upgrade to a Dollar Shave Club
six blade razor? Brady, how many blades? Is that? Sounds
like you said six? Damn right? I did, LaVar Arrington?
How many blades is that? Say Roberto? For our people?
How many blades is that? Damn? It is? It is
a six blade razor from Dollar Shave Club for a

(16:44):
noticeably smooth shave thanks to their six precision cuts stainless
steel blades. Find your perfect shave with Dollar Shave Club stores. Yeah,
that's Dollar Shave Club in store, So go to the
store and find them. Welcome to the club, all right,
LaVar Arrington, Brady Quinn, Jonas knocked you here on fs
are coming up next, Um, we may have identified the
one team who might actually quit on their head coach.

(17:06):
They might actually walk out on their head coach based
on these comments. We'll get to that next year. On
fs ARE, be sure to catch live editions of Two
Pros and a Cup of Joe with Brady Quinn, LaVar
Errington and Jonas Knocks week days at six am Eastern
three am Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the I
Heart Radio. So we were talking about the Penn State

(17:30):
coaching situation. Guys, um, you know James Franklin. You know,
there's a lot of people that are interested in James Franklin.
LaVar Rington's terrified. Uh, he does, He's not terrified. Terrified,
He's not terrified. Coach. Were a great institution. Yes, I
have a very very personal connection to James Franklin, and

(17:51):
I have a very very vested interest in him. Listen,
we we had some very people. People may not recall
how dark it was for us, but it was a
dark time for us at our school. And and you
know what, like Bill O'Brien beat cheeks up out of there,
like I didn't know this was going on. I don't

(18:12):
want to be here. I'm up out of here, rolled out.
We were left for dead. People don't realize that Penn
State football was left for dead. And it's so interesting.
We get a guy who probably under any other circumstances,
would not have even had an opportunity to become the
head coach of a blue blood football school like Penn State.

(18:36):
He gets the opportunity because nobody else was really going
to want to touch it. He takes the job, and
not only does he not only does he bring a
level of excitement that was sorely lacking, but he brought
a belief And and you know, to be honest, why
would you like for me? Now he can say I

(18:59):
did what I needed to do. I helped this this
this team, and I helped this community the best I could.
And now it's time for me to move on. And
you know what, I wouldn't be mad at him. I
would not be mad at him. I would be thoroughly,
thoroughly concerned. I would be scared to death about what
our future holds. Because you got to take into consideration

(19:21):
when he left Vanderbilt, all his recruits, all his guys,
they love him so much, they went with him. They
went with him. So you gotta think it's not just
the losing of a coach. If if he wants to
move on to something that he feels as a challenge
in his life, that's certainly within his his rights to

(19:43):
do so. I would never be upset with that. But
in terms of what the collateral damage would be to
to our school and and what we you know, what
we have going on momental wise, People talk about, oh,
Franklin can't coach very well. Frank Glynn is as Franklin
is that you could say what you want to say.

(20:03):
One thing I know Franklin is is someone who gets
guys motivated, gets them to want to come to the school.
And if we were to lose that, who do you
bring in that can replace that presence? And that's a
major concern for me because I see the implications of
if Franklin leaves, that could deteriorate rapidly, deteriorate our program.

(20:24):
And so people are looking at where we should be,
we should be challenging for a national title, but they're
not looking at it from the perspective of what's the
alternative could be. You'll still get a really good coach
because of all the things you just said, you know, like,
you'll still get a like I I personally believe Luke
Fickle would be a great pick right head coach of
Cincinnati right now, who's number two in the country. If

(20:47):
my mistake in the eight people so um He's been
able to guide that program, build that program after Brian
Kelly left, and I think he could easily take over
that And I would also feel a lot better about
the next coming in, then I would Franklin at the time,
just based on the fact that he's going to be
leaving them with such a better program than when he
got here. So you know, if he can just maintain

(21:08):
a guy like Fickle can just maintain that. So you know, LaVar, listen, look,
there's there is life, you know after James Franklin, and
it's not all that bad if he does decide to leave.
You know, appreciate you like taking this sarcastic approach, making
me feel better if coach is going to leave. But hey, listen,
everything that change is inevitable and you have to be

(21:31):
prepared for it and you have to be able to
handle it. I don't, I do not. I do not
have a problem if he decides to go. He is
as legit as as they say he is. I think
he's a great recruiter, and I feel like if we
could get over the hump of beating Ohio State, we
can take that next step in getting recruits and developing

(21:54):
the players and and possibly being in the playoff, you know, consistently.
But if that weren't to happen, I mean, I don't
know what's next. Like the Luke Fickle talking all that.
That's great and all that, but I just have a personal,
you know, connection to this and I've I've gone through
a lot. I've I've experienced a lot because I just

(22:14):
loved my school, uh, with with all of my heart
and and so it's just just one of those things
where it would be it would be an emotional moment,
it would be an emotional moment, but you know that
time has to to continue to march on. The show
continues on speaking of head coaches, UM, and we talked
about Penn State, number seven in the country, number one
in our hearts. Uh. The Penn State Nitty Lions are

(22:35):
hosting Illinois this upcoming weekend at a Beaver Stadium. Yeah,
and unfortunately there might not be anybody on the field
for Illinois based on the comments from their head coach
Brett Bielema, who spoke to the media yesterday. And I'm
all for brutal honesty, but get away of this. The
roster is going to have to change to get to

(22:55):
where we want to be to win a championship. So
I recognize that probably midway through the spring last year
through the summer, UM, just certain positions haven't maybe played
out the way that they envisioned him to um in,
particularly the offensive line. I don't believe we have a
player in a too deep um uh that that they've
recruited here over the last few years that is really
significantly doing anything for us in the playing department. That said,

(23:18):
that's a major concern. Let me let let me tell
you what this is. Let me tell you what this is,
all right, because there's examples of players when they're not playing,
utilizing the platform that is social media to be able
to put pressure on coaches. Allah Anthony Richardson, who had
something to say, the quarterback backup quarterback there at Florida,

(23:39):
and by the way, I think he should be the
guy starting, mind you, but that that's for another subject. Um.
But he's using his social media platform to put pressure
on Dan Mollen, like, Hey, if you want to play
me here, I got one free pass and the transferred
portal to go somewhere else and showcase my talents. And
whether you think that's right, wrong or in different doesn't matter,

(24:01):
because that's what's out there. Here's what coaches are doing. Though.
Did you guys see how Michigan State was able to
turn things around so quickly after being a two win
team just a year ago. Now they're a top ten
team and undefeated. They've got thirtysome players, maybe forty. I
think when you factor in, uh, the incoming freshman class
and the transfer portal they are they have literally overturned

(24:25):
their roster for the most part. You know, guys like
Kenneth Walker, Payton Thorn was still there, um Jalen Naylor
is still there, but they overturned a large portion of
their roster. And I think Brett Billiam got there identified
that and it's got to a point now where he's like, well,
let's just be honest with ourselves. This roster isn't where
it needs to be. These aren't my guys that I recruited, etcetera.

(24:48):
So what am I gonna do. I'm gonna try to
get some scholarships, Like I'm gonna make a public statement
and let these kids know and basically say to them, look,
if you don't want to be here anymore, go be is.
I'm gonna recruit guys to replace you. I'm gonna pull
guys in from a transfer portal who are up to
my standard that I think I have. So this is
Brett Bielma utilizing I think the same blueprint that melt

(25:12):
Tucker has done at Michigan State. And he's not gonna
be the last because I think this is gonna be
replicated with schools like Illinois, for example, that are gonna
have a hard time competing. I think they're gonna do
it more and more and more. So I know this
comes off as jarring as a player. They're probably upset,
but he's already telling you you're not gonna be competing
with some of the guys that I'm trying to bring

(25:34):
in to replace you. I'll say this, I think it's
a misstep in the sense that he could have did
that behind closed doors them more more to me, more
manly would be to do it in person with them
instead of airing it out on But you also don't
know that he hasn't. Yeah, but but he may have.

(25:56):
But there's no way he should have did it. And
my my set spin of it because I look at
it from this this perspective, it's it's true as those things,
maybe I'm still not going to approach the responsibility and
the duty of of being that that leader, that authoritative
figure in those young men's lives and and approach it

(26:20):
in a way where it's belittling, it's it's you know
kind of it's demeaning. I just to me, I just
don't I don't subscribe to that, just from the philosophy
of I'm still I'm still in the business of of
guiding men to being the best men that they can
possibly be. But I'm looking at one's gonna argue the

(26:40):
fact that these kids are gonna be upset and or
an argue the fact, like, was that the best way
of doing it? And I won't even say their kids,
they're they're young adults. Like it's fine, the truth serum
is fine. You don't even have to give a chaser
with it. I'm just saying, was that something for the media.
If I'm the coach, I can say we are going
to improve this school. I can say we are going

(27:03):
to do better in the recruiting process. That that to
me says you're acknowledging the fact that this this team
is not up to standard, it's not up to snuff.
I mean, you can go back to the days of
when they had you know, Sime and Rice and Dana Howard,
and they were winning Buckets Awards back to back seasons.

(27:23):
Their defense was like the top rated defense in the
country Illinois, the fighting a line I had a serious
reputation in terms of what they were able to bring
to the table as a competitor. So you can put
out there that you want to take this this program
back to the glory days or create new ones of
what what's to come without selling out your players the

(27:46):
way that he did in that moment. I find it
hard to believe that he would just come and drop
that bomb to the media without at least having some conversations.
He's if you know Brett Bealem a little bit. You know,
he is as upfront and blunt as it gets. And
and oh, by the way, um, who do they got
this week? Jonas? Do you have to know? And now

(28:12):
now and to that point? And to that point, guys,
if he's talking about you like that, you know the
beauty of sports, you know the beauty of of our
game of football. Y'all can look each other in the
faces and be like, this guy doesn't like us, he
hates us, he wants us to go, he wants to
get rid of us. You know what you can do.

(28:32):
You can you can look at each other and say,
let's go out with a bang. Fellas. Yeah, let's let's
knuckle up, let's gut up, let's go, let's get a
good week of practice in. Let's go get some let's
go get some wins. Here's what I'd say for where
we're at with college football and and and the athletics
in general. It's it's it's more of a pro model.
Let's just call it what it is. It is a

(28:53):
pro model now, because I think some coaches, especially when
they take over a job, they feel kind of handicapped,
like they can't turn over a roster as fast as
you can in the NFL, where you can move on
from a lot of contracts and you can make some
some decisions and you can transform that into a year
or two his time, you know, until they change the
rule with the transfer portal world. Now you've got one

(29:15):
free pass and you look at these scholarships and they're
like contracts. Now, now I think coaches are like, well,
I don't want to wait three years to turn this
thing around. I might not have three years anymore, So
I've got to do things or I've got to figure
out ways of trying to get you know, turnover new
guys to come in. So Lavard your to your point,

(29:35):
if they have the ability between their next recruiting class
and the transfer portal to be able to bring in
all these scholarship players and there's only so many you
can bring in a class. But what they do is
they have the kids and roll like a day into
the semester. And that's kind of how they get around
with extending that class to have like a bigger class
than what you're what you used to be allowed to have.

(29:56):
But but so but what they can do, uh is
if you if you think about this, like these players
are playing for someone else, These Illinois players are probably
playing and putting tape on the field for their next
quote unquote team or employer, if you want to look
at it that way. No different than a free agent, right, Like,
no different than Jimmy Garoppolo. He should be back playing,

(30:19):
you know when they are coming back. He should be
back as a started quarterback. Is he the long term
answer at quarterback? No? Because they drafted trade lance, we
know the runnings on the wall. These kids are a
very similar situation where like their head coach is already
running them off. Yeah, you've got two options. You can
either quit or go to transfer now, or you can
try to play this thing out as best you can,
put his best tape on the on, you know, best

(30:41):
tape out there as you can, and give yourself a
shot at transfer portal, unless you want to hang around
and see if you could change his mind, which seems
kind of unlikely. And also Belma did point out and
one of the other comments that he made was, you
know a lot of these people were welcomed back because
of the COVID stuff, Like there wasn't an opportunity to
just move on. So it was like, Okay, yeah, you know,
you know, come on back. You know, we'll do this.

(31:02):
And it feels like now he's just kind of letting
everybody know, yes, so that's over with. So now we're
gonna move forward and actually get together the team that
I went and don't forget that every single class so freshman, sophomore, junior,
senior was awarded a free year of eligibility. And this
is one example of how that's gonna impact teams down

(31:25):
the road, where if you get a new head coach
coming in, as much as he would like to reward
them with a scholarship, that wasn't on his plate. I
mean that that's just that wasn't on his plate. So
every one of those classes now has an additional year
of eligibility. And he's like, yeah, that ain't gonna work
for me, Like I need to turn this thing over quick.
That being said, Uh, hammer, Penn State might twenty three

(31:47):
and a half. Hammer, Penn State might easy Money's Clifford back,
LaVar's Clifford back. Uh, I don't know. They can have
Clifford the bigger the b and I don't care camera
Pen States a big difference. Penn States a top four
team right now. If Clifford finishes die with game. Yeah,

(32:09):
well listen, you know and uh ruined my day. I
witness that I went, I went this grumpy LaVar. You
know what, you know, what's safe? The spirits that PJ
that private plane. Yeah yeah that and you know, sometimes

(32:31):
you just gotta take a trip to Long Island, if
you know what I mean in their LaVar. Sometimes you
gotta take double fisted up, wash it down with a
with a surve, you know what I mean? Two pros

and they have got something in common. We will get
into that here top of next hour on fs ARE.
UM so um. Just for people that maybe weren't with
us yesterday. You know, I we do a little segment

(34:00):
called the prop At Monster here on radio where you know,
I will I will come up with my own well,
I'll come up with my own prop bets and all,
you know, during the primetime games, the stand alone Thursdays
and Monday games, I'll throw them at LaVar and Brady
and kind of get their thoughts. These are goofy most
of more grabass, you know, things like that. Stuff that's
probably not gonna happen, but it's fun to just you know,

(34:21):
b us around a little bit in the morning. Um,
I threw out a question yesterday on the prop At Monster,
and I want you to hear how it sounded on
the air, and maybe somebody, maybe somebody, somebody you'll have
to answer for his his behavior yesterday on the show.
This was yesterday morning. You guys, remember the Music City
Miracle was between the Titans and the Bills. So my

(34:43):
question for you is do they show a highlight of
the Music City Miracle? Yes? Or no? No? No, I
mean think they're just gonna dismiss this. This is an
awful question. This is why to the right. So so
then when people are watching and show that highlight, I
want you to remember Brady Quinn kicking me in the
nuts and saying it was an awful question. That's enough

(35:05):
to pay off. So let me ask you this. I
jump kicked you right in the grind so that you
proud of yourself, Brady, anything you want to say later
you want, that's the gad sound like you know what?
You know? What's back? You are? What a d back
you are for going back and finding the sound to
play this out? I mean, who would do something like that?

(35:26):
But who would do something like that to peacock? And right?
You know I I learned from who? Yeah I went, yeah, yeah,
Brady Quinn, Mr. You know it goes goes bum my
middle daughter's diaper yesterday. See a big old turn he
goes behind our backs the bar. You are, Jonas right there.

(35:46):
You want to look like you're right there, big swish
pack of TUTSI rolls altogether. Let me ask you, by
the way, roll hey tuts your roll underrated candy Halloween
coming up around the corral Green was a big tuttu
roll either. He said it made him run faster, and
he kept it in his sock, right, he kept it

(36:07):
in his sock. That's true story hey, so listen though,
listen I was I was totally mortified when I saw
the highlight come on, and when it came on, you
saw what I texted. It wasn't even appropriate for radio.
It was just so many explicitives used when explaining the
fact that I'm looking at the Music City miracle take

(36:30):
place right now. I should was going to go that direction.
Can I ask you guys this god there that that
was a troll job by Mike were able to call
that play on the punt return when you know it's
the Bills and Titans playing each other. To call that
throwback pass and the punt return, that was a troll job, right, Yeah,
but he's if you know who he is, you know

(36:51):
he has that type of sense of humor. For certain.
The Bills trolled them right back with the two point
conversion to Josh Allen, Yes, that was the play the
Titans at that one. And you know, I just don't
want to point out Brady Quinn did win last night.
Yeah I don't. I don't care because I was so
mad about how that game ended. I mean, I had

(37:11):
the under which I honestly, I honestly thought I was
gonna be a blowout. Like based on how this past
week went, and I know I talked to you guys
about it was like eight of the thirteen games before
we got into prime time or before Monday Night football, Um,
we're we're all double digit wins. I mean, it was
a it was a kind of a bad week for
competitive games. I really thought the Bills were gonna blow

(37:31):
the doors off the Titans. And now now it leaves
to me like having reservations about the Bills because that's
a playoff team. You went out there and kind of
rolled out I don't want to say a lackluster performance,
but they just seemed how to sink at times. I
I know Derrick Henry can run the football and he's
tough to stop, but like we've seen that story before
in the playoffs, Like that's not enough to take them

(37:53):
to a super Bowl. So to me, I just I
look at the Bills like you're supposed to be build
as the top team in the a f C, maybe
the top seem in the NFL, and in some ways
you kind of just rolled it out. They're almost expecting
to kind of beat them, and and with all the
injuries by the way, the Titans sustained. Taylor Lawan thoughts
of prayers with him. Caleb Fairley, it sounds like he

(38:14):
tores a c l again. Like with all the injuries
they sustained, they still were able to overcome. So give
them credit. But this was kind of revealing about the
Bills and one of the reasons why, Like I'll tell
you right now, take whatever Kansas City is to win
to go to another Super Bowl, take it right now.
As bad as their defense has been, the turnovers, whatever,
because you're not gonna find better rods at this point

(38:35):
in time. I mean, now, are we certain? Because listen,
I've been as a critical of Carson Wentz as anybody,
but Indianapolis does feel like they found a little something
in that division. You think Indianapolis is No, No, you
think Tennessee. So you don't think Indianapolis has found enough
to pose any sort of a threat the way Jonathan

(38:56):
Taylor's I don't. I'd have to get like a magnifying
glass on someone's neck and take a closer. Yeah. I mean,
if they had show at this week, they look pretty good.
But that's not enough of a sample size. I mean,
nobody's going crazy over him right now. No, one's getting
stressed out about it. Yeah, no, definitely not. I mean
if they did, if they did, he would notice it,

(39:17):
you know, yeah, he'd have he'd have a volve on
his neck up. Fox Sports Radio has the best sports
