Lee help or no, like any of the stuff that
he sent over?
Speaker 1 (01:32):
Yeah, I just slept it off, man, I finished the show.
I slept it off.
Speaker 4 (01:38):
So it was the number one remedy right there. Back
to bed, went, got some sheet crab soup here. It's
really good, man, it's good. So yeah, I'm good. I'm
back back today. Feel good. Gotta fly out though.
Speaker 1 (01:51):
Yeah. Well so it's not easy.
Speaker 5 (01:54):
To uh, to fly out of state college. I know
you're not in state college right now.
Speaker 1 (01:59):
But I gotta to stay college though, so oh yeah right, yeah,
So you're.
Speaker 5 (02:03):
Very similar to the football team where James, Yeah, he
was complaining about the runway there at s.
Speaker 1 (02:11):
Yeah, it's too small. It's needed to expand for quite
some time. So what he was saying definitely resonates, you know,
for a lot of different reasons. It was probably like
that when you were there, right Oh, you got to
drive somewhere else to fly out either, har.
Speaker 5 (02:27):
Just so people understand what we're talking about the airport
at State College is the runway is not long enough,
big enough to allow a plane like the charter that
Penn State will be on when they try to fly
to the west coast to go to southern Cow to
be able to take off and land without having to
(02:48):
stop because of the size and weight of the plane.
Speaker 1 (02:51):
Correct.
Speaker 5 (02:51):
So James Franklin was saying yesterday in particular, the frustration
that he's got to drive to Harrisburg to be able
to take a plane big enough to do so.
Speaker 1 (03:01):
A little earlier and leaving a day earlier, just for
the simple fact that the type of the type of
time that it takes to travel. But I mean there's
a whole lot more issues to it though, you know,
in terms of for our economy, you know, for recruits,
for just you know, everything in general. It's just it's
a headache to get in there, you know, and it's
(03:22):
it's very limited on flights. So and it's right, that's
like when we used to fly back, we'd have to
fly back we chartered like three or four different like
small private jets, you know, because well it's not three
or four but like two, two or three. So just
so you could land in State College and not have to.
Speaker 5 (03:43):
So that is the other alternatives. Half a team goes
right on one and half the other half team goes
in the other.
Speaker 1 (03:50):
You would still have to stop though, you would still
have to stop and like refuel, or you'd have to
stop and get on a bigger plane, you know what
I mean. Like you like if you guys have to
do that, you didn't really plan. No, so we would
have to drive out if we played somewhere far away,
we would have to drive out to Harrisburg or a
(04:12):
different a different airport, get on a bigger a big plane,
fly out on a big plane, and then when we
came back, we fly in on smaller planes. Like so
we would be on different planes. We weren't all on
the same plane because you can't land a big boy
in State College. So that's how it worked.
Speaker 3 (04:29):
I think it's the greatest airport I've ever been to
in my life.
Speaker 1 (04:33):
I swear I was saying this first off, no offense
to State College. It is not.
Speaker 5 (04:38):
We were there a Saturday, Not one damn thing was open.
And try to eat or drink. Oh there's only one
place to eat. Yeah, there's only one place we eat
Penn Valley established in twenty twenty four, and it's already
not even open on the saturd On, give me one
person in there.
Speaker 3 (04:54):
Okay, hold on the vending machine. Very affordable prices and
they've got enough of a snack selection that you can use.
I'm just saying that you can work around whatever hunger
issues you might have because the cafe is closed.
Speaker 1 (05:09):
I will say this. I will say this, if you
were to ever miss a flight due to tardiness at
State College Airport, you have no one to blame but yourself,
no one. You cannot blame that airport. You cannot blame
the size of the airport. If you were ever ever
(05:30):
too late for a flight, that's on you.
Speaker 5 (05:34):
It is interesting though, Franklin kind of aired out. It
kind of airs out the whole process of flying out
of Penn State. It's like you would have figure at
some point someone would have addressed this and gotten this
done for by by the way, not even just with
now the realignment and that the football team will have
(05:54):
to travel, but like other teams traveling in Q Yes, that's.
Speaker 1 (06:00):
A one, like USA LA. They probably had to fly
into Harrisburg and they probably had to drive in from
somewhere else, yeah, or bus in. Yeah.
Speaker 5 (06:08):
It's like you'd think the conference would put pressure on
that airport or on that the community to try to
make better accommodations for them.
Speaker 1 (06:18):
It ain't easy, and it's not easy. That's always been
a thing in terms of now that recruiting is is
taking on a larger footprint. It's not about just driving
in from Pittsburgh or driving in from Philadelphia. It's actually
you are you are having to drive in, I mean
(06:42):
you're you can't you you can't fly in there. That's
that's the biggest point. And so if you're coming from
Florida or coming from California or Texas or anything like that,
you always have to connect, always have to connect. And
it's just it's it's a headache to try to get
a flight into state college because uh, there's only so
many of those small flights that are going in and out.
(07:03):
So it's just it's been a headache for a long time.
It's crazy that they haven't expanded it yet. It is
what it is. I'm glad you got it out though.
I mean, it's it's been needing to be talked about,
it's been needing to be discussed. I mean it has
it has been discussed that length, but it's only like
been like a small conversation, like it's it's a it's
(07:25):
ridiculous how hard it is to fly in and out
of State College the State College airport.
Speaker 3 (07:31):
When we got off the plane, we we come out
off the runway, we walk in, we go down this pathway,
we hang a left, and that's it.
Speaker 1 (07:41):
That's it. That's what I'm saying. If you're ever like
and and listen, everybody knows everybody it's a dope place.
Speaker 3 (07:51):
Like am I exaggerating this? There are car washes bigger
than that airport. Yeah, yeah, like this it is tight.
I was shot a small stairport I've ever seen.
Speaker 1 (08:03):
It's small. Yeah. I mean you have what two desks,
I think it's American in United you don't have any
more desks, just two desks, a cafe that's never opened,
in a vending machine. The cafe is open just as
it opens at times, like you do have.
Speaker 3 (08:19):
A vending machine, like one of those places like be
back in twenty minutes and an hour later, nobody still.
Speaker 1 (08:24):
Showed up to the store named Roy Yeah.
Speaker 3 (08:31):
And love he's working the the United what's up.
Speaker 1 (08:36):
Love you. I see her today. Yeah, that's that's it.
But yeah, I mean it's airing and outs. It is
airing out our dirty laundry, but it's it's laundry that
needs to be aired out. That something needs. At some point,
there needs to be an expansion of that airport. Man,
this town is expanding, it's growing. Looks very good. I
(08:58):
mean people need to be able to fly. It needs
to be easier to fly in and fly out of
State College. So there you go. There's that.
Speaker 3 (09:05):
Well, the Cleveland Browns were hoping it was going to
be easier to at least they got.
Speaker 1 (09:10):
An airport get some Well, yeah, they got an airport,
and they need to be sending somebody there with a
one way ticket, damn so.
Speaker 3 (09:23):
Kevin Stefanski, the head coach of the Cleveland Browns, spoke
yesterday following that brutal performance against the Commandos on Sunday.
He spoke yesterday about potentially giving up play calling duties
to offensive coordinator Ken Dorsey and also what needs to
change on offense.
Speaker 6 (09:43):
I think there's a bunch of different things, mary kay,
that we want to look at and see how we're
doing from an operations standpoint.
Speaker 1 (09:50):
On offense.
Speaker 6 (09:52):
I think Ken's been an outstanding partner and all this.
So those are the type of things that I will.
Speaker 1 (09:57):
Always look at.
Speaker 6 (09:59):
But really it just it's back to making sure that
we're putting our guys in position is what we'll look at. Ultimately,
I have to coach better as offensive coaches, we have
to coach better. As players, we have to play better.
Deshaun can play better. He will play better. He's had
some obviously good moments and then there's times that we
have to play better around him. But he's committed to
getting better. We're committed as an offense to putting our
(10:23):
guys in position to succeed.
Speaker 1 (10:25):
All right, it's a couple of things. Can we stop
making excuses for Deshaun Watson? What good moments has he had? None?
Speaker 5 (10:32):
And can we stop though like someone will post a
photo of one drop and be like there it is
as wide receivers don't have his back man stop the offensive.
On seven sacks? Go back and watch the tape. How
many of those did he bring on himself? How many
times he's running around scrambling when he's in a clean
pocket he could step up and make a throw, Or
(10:54):
how about this here's a novel. Throw the football away
like it's unbelieve. This is a Deshaun Watson issue dating
back to even when he was a Pro bowler in Houston.
Even when he was a Pro Bowl in Houston. He
dealt with this in twenty eighteen. He's a pro bowler.
(11:14):
He actually led the league in sacks that year. He
led the league in sack yards as well, which means
he's running back out of the pocket or horizontally. He's
not even trying to get up to the line of scrimmage.
So spare me the excuses. I'm tired of it at
this point. This team's too talented. You have a coach
(11:35):
who won Coach of the Year last year. We watched
an offense that was operating better with a guy who
wasn't even on the roster to start the season at quarterback,
and they didn't want to bring Joe Flacco back. Why
we just watched him throw for over three hundred yards.
Has Deshaun Watson thrown for over three hundred yards as
a Cleveland Brown yet?
Speaker 1 (11:53):
No? Could someone look that up? Is that? Has he
done that yet?
Speaker 5 (11:57):
Flacco just did that last week for the Colts, and
yet they didn't want to bring him back. Why because
he was what threatening to Deshaun Watson or whatever they
want to make up, or Jimmy Haslam or whoever the
front office. It's unbelievable to hear all the excuses that
are made look sin since day one since they've got
(12:19):
Deshaun Watson, forget the off the field stuff. Still shocking
that he gets the contract and they trade for him
with all of that, this was never a good match
with Kevin Stefanski's offense and what Deshaun Watson wants to do.
It's just it's never been the case. So the problem's
gonna be, and it's gonna it's gonna it's already coming
to a head. We're watching it play out. Is either
(12:42):
you gotta get to running Kevin Stefanski's offense or we're
gonna keep watching whatever the hell this is on Sundays
with the Browns. And that's putting Deshaun Watson back there
in shotgun. Let him try to scan the field and
look around like he knows how to read a defense
or anything else, and then struggle to be able to
figure it out instead of just putting him under center
(13:04):
running all these outside zone schemes, the boots and everything
else off it, trying to make life easy for him
and doing what actually could be something similar or close
to Kevin Stefanski's offense, having a play with some sort
of sense of timing and rhythm. But the reality is
whoever is making that decision, and I think it's pretty
clear and apparent it's not Kevin Stefanski. To keep Deshaun
(13:26):
Watson in there is only holding back this football team.
And I'm sure we're gonna keep hearing people on social
media trying to come to the defense of Deshaun Watson,
and it's most likely his agent and the whole pr
campaign behind it. That's how this works, especially when he's
paid two hundred and thirty million. There's a lot of
people who put a lot of money and time into
this to make sure it looks okay, and he doesn't
(13:47):
take all the blame for it.
Speaker 1 (13:49):
But the truth of the matter is.
Speaker 5 (13:50):
It is awful to watch, and unless the Browns put
in Jameis Winston give him a shot.
Speaker 1 (13:56):
Dorian Thoms Robinson, I don't care. I don't care who
they put in.
Speaker 5 (14:00):
They need to try to find a way of getting
a spark for this offensive for this team because it
feels like this team doesn't believe in them anymore. And
it feels like this team's gonna lose belief and their
coach too, and the decision makers if they don't find
a way of getting him to play better football, because
it is awful to watch.
Speaker 3 (14:17):
So he threw for two eighty nine in a game
Week three last year against the Titans. That was as
high as a Cleveland Brown quarterback as high this year
yardage wise was one to ninety six. Derrick Henry ran
for one ninety nine last week.
Speaker 1 (14:33):
So it's and.
Speaker 3 (14:35):
Here's the part that I find funny about it is,
you know they're asking and they're just kind of throwing
different questions and trying to find solutions. Are you getting
about play calling duties? It's not a Stefanski problem. We've
seen multiple quarterbacks in all shapes and sizes in Cleveland
have success there. They went to the playoffs with Baker Mayfield,
(14:55):
they went to the playoffs with Joe Flacco. Kevin Stefanski
was there both of those times. Like, this is clearly
a Deshaun Watson problem. Yeah, everybody's trying to find, well,
what else could it be?
Speaker 1 (15:07):
No, it is. It is a Stefanski problem, though, how well,
because he's the head coach, so it is. It is
a Stefanski problem. But I think what you're saying is
is correct in the sense that he can't figure him out.
He can't figure out how to be successful with Deshaun Watson.
So I feel like this is is kind of like
(15:30):
him saying, listen, I'm gonna get up, I'm giving up
play calling DUDEI hees like, hey, hey, Dorsey, maybe you
can figure it this dude out. Maybe you can figure
it out. I'm done, hands up in the air, like
I just there's nothing. There's nothing I can do to
remedy why this guy isn't doing more for us as
as a quarterback with me calling the plays. So he's
(15:53):
basically giving you, guys, just like how we just talked
about Coach Franklin, like kind of rolling rolling State College
air Port under the bus, you know, for not being
you know, good enough to handle the needs of what's
taking place. This is Kevin Stefanski making sure people get
an idea of the fact that I'm rolling to Shawn
Watson under the bus because I can't. I can't. It's
(16:17):
something I can't figure out it's not going to work.
So let me saying under the bus. Yeah, and what
in a way in the sense that let let somebody
else call the plays, like I'm going to show you
that it's not me, it's my team, and I have
to give up the play calling duties for somebody else
(16:39):
to call the place. But maybe he can do a
better job than what I can. I'm basically saying to y'all,
I'm done. I can't do it. Like so it's it's
kind of it is kind of he's rolling He's rolling
Toshawn under the bus because he's basically saying, I can't
help this, dude, Like, sorry, I can't help you. This
ain't no, we're holding hands, We'll figure it out. Let's
let's see where we end up. It's like, let's go
(17:02):
the place. Yeah, that's what I would call it. I mean,
I I don't think it's throwing shade. I just think
he's making sure that people understand that I can't do it,
like I can't my offense like you're saying, my offense
does not fit what Deshaun Watson tries to do, and
so I rather, can you do it? Ken? Can you
(17:23):
figure the dude out. Okay, you take on to play calling, Dutys,
you're the OC anyway, I trust you. I bought you here.
Good luck, good luck. Yeah, it's bad about it, Yeah,
because if it don't work with that, they probably all might.
I don't know, are they looking for new jobs? I mean,
are you looking for a new job if you're Kevin
Stefanski and Ken Dorsey after after this debacle with with
(17:47):
with Deshaun Watson.
Speaker 3 (17:48):
I mean, if Stefanski gets fired by the Cleveland Browns
after this year because the season's over, Like, if he
gets fired after this year, I think he'll get it.
One hundred hundred percent, he'll get another head coaching job
because people are going to look at his resume and
go listen, he's proven it with multiple quarterbacks. It was
just whatever the hell that diaper fire was that they
(18:10):
gave two hundred and thirty million dollars too, that couldn't work,
Like it just didn't work. And I don't know that
people around the league look at it as a Stefanski problem.
I think they look at it as that guy's broken,
Like Deshaun Watson is not anywhere close to the same player,
And I think if they decided to move on from Stefanski,
I don't think he's going to have a problem finding
another job.
Speaker 5 (18:31):
I think the greater issue, too, is they are they're
stuck in this situation because it's going to take the owner,
Jimmy Haslam, to move off of it.
Speaker 1 (18:43):
He's ultimately the one that agreed to the contract.
Speaker 5 (18:46):
When you have a contract that is record setting in
the amount, that's fully guaranteed, a fully guaranteed five year
deal at signing, when you make this sort of trade
for a guy that's twenty four separate lawsuits off the
field that you're dealing with, and you give up the
draft capital that you give up in exchange for him,
When you do all of that, that is not a
(19:08):
general manager decision. It's not a head coach decision. That
is an owner. That's an owner's decision. Jimmy has them
ultimately is the only one that can unwind this entire situation.
Speaker 1 (19:21):
And I would guess that based on how.
Speaker 5 (19:26):
Things ended for Baker Mayfield, who would have been a
better option, their best option to find a way of
working it out, getting an extension, Seeing what this team
could have been if he was playing as their quarterback
instead they find themselves now with a guy who's not
playing anywhere near to the level of football that he
(19:49):
was playing at during his days in Houston, and a
team that is as talented as any even despite some
of the injuries that they do have, that is struggling
to find.
Speaker 1 (20:00):
A way of wanting to play behind this guy. And
so there's only one way.
Speaker 5 (20:05):
Out of it, and there's only one person to make
that decision, and it's Jimmy Haslam. That's the bottom line,
that's the truth to all this. Because of the magnitude
of the contract, the cash that's been paid out, the
hit that you're going to have to take whether you
trade him or release them. And I don't even know
how you'd go about trading him at this point because
I don't think anyone else wants to absorb that contract.
So you'd have to make some big time considerations there,
(20:28):
and how much more you'd have to pay as part
of that contract, kind of something similar to the Denver
Broncos right now paying for you know, Russell Wilson not
to be there. That would be an essence what the
Browns would have to do and hamstring themselves for the
future with their salary cap if they wanted to move
on from him. So it's what I've said from day
one of this season. Regardless of how bad Deshaun Watson
(20:50):
is and plays, it doesn't matter. The contract protects them.
This is the good and bad to having a fully
guaranteed five year deal. You don't have that in when
you're talking about you know, football very often other sports, yes,
and you see players be able to flex their leverage
and take time coming back from injuries and not feel
(21:13):
as much pressure as compared to an NFL player. When
you get injured, you feel the pressure to come back
because you don't have many guarantees or you don't have
many years of guarantees in your contract, so your forced
to sometimes come back before even healthier.
Speaker 1 (21:25):
Ready not the case here.
Speaker 5 (21:28):
So the reality is this contract's great from a player
perspective because he's protected and despite the fact that he's
not playing well, he's gonna get that cash. Unless this
is off the field lawsuit, this new one ends up
playing a factor in some part. But this all comes
down to Jimmy Haslm and whether or not Jimmy Haslm
will make the decision at some point to move on
(21:50):
from Deshaun Watson or if he's gonna move on from
the people underneath them that really didn't have final say
in the decision to bring Watson in the first place,
but are gonna take the fall for him.
Speaker 3 (22:00):
It's Two Pros and a Cup of Joe here on
Fox Sports Radio, LeVar Arrington, Brady Quinn, Jonas Knox with
you coming up next here, we are going to have
an update on the status of one future Hall of
Famer in the NFL, and it's yours right here on FSR.
Speaker 2 (22:14):
Be sure to catch live editions of Two Pros and
a Cup of Joe with Brady Quinn, LeVar Errington, and
Jonas Knox weekdays at six am Eastern, three am Pacific
on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 3 (22:28):
So we are going to discuss a team in the
NFL considering a switch at quarterback. That'll be yours here
fifteen minutes from now. But now we transition over to
a team who's not considering a switch at quarterback because
they got a little bit of good news. Aaron Rodgers
banged up in the Jets loss to the Minnesota Vikings
(22:50):
over in London. I'm sure the English fans were thrilled
with that game. Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers has a low
ankle sprain, but he is not expected to miss any time.
Should be good to go for Monday Night Football next
week when they do take on the Buffalo Bills, as
they are all fighting for the AFC East crown and
the lead in the division, so Rogers will be available
(23:13):
for that and is expected to be a full go
when it comes to.
Speaker 1 (23:17):
That's what they're doing. Yeah, fight for listen, hope is
not lost, all right.
Speaker 3 (23:22):
You can't just get buried in the weeds of negativity
just because they look bad against the Minnesota Vikings. A
lot of teams will look bad against the Minnesota Vikings,
the Houston Texans included, who got that work a couple
of weeks ago. So the Jets Rogers' low ankle sprain
should be.
Speaker 1 (23:37):
Good to go for Monday Night Football. I'm not worried
any work. Not worried at all.
Speaker 3 (23:43):
No, No, I'm not worried at all. Yeah, all right,
I'm not because I refuse to lose this to LeVar.
I don't because there is a divide in this show.
You're either with a Roger and the Jets and Robert
Sala or you're not.
Speaker 1 (24:00):
And here's the case.
Speaker 5 (24:01):
By the way, here's the case for the Jets right
now outside of Kansas City. All right, you probably say
Baltimore as well. I guess we throw Buffalo even though
they just lost to Houston, but I probably put Houston.
Speaker 1 (24:17):
Up there, like correct. Those are three of the top
teams in the AFC. Right, that's four, isn't it four? Buffalo, Buffuffalo, Houston,
O case Baltimos are four, So you have three spots left.
Speaker 5 (24:32):
Cincinnati's not as good as Jonas thought, but Cleveland's.
Speaker 1 (24:36):
Not as good as I thought. Nope.
Speaker 5 (24:39):
Pittsburgh not sure where they're gonna be. If there's a
quarterback change, what's gonna happen with them?
Speaker 1 (24:44):
But not as good as as they could be. Maybe
not you thought.
Speaker 5 (24:49):
The Dolphins until they get two of back, seems unlikely
they're gonna win a lot more. I mean, Huntley I
was able to could have done this past week, but
that's up in the air. New England's kind of out outside.
I mean, the Jaguarars obviously are struggling. Got the first win,
but that's not looking great. The Colts are playing without
their starting quarterback. Maybe Flacco takes the Colts on a
(25:10):
miraculous run, but outside of Houston, it feels like, you know,
Titans aren't gonna be a part of the playoff conversation.
Speaker 1 (25:16):
When you start looking around the AFC playoff.
Speaker 5 (25:17):
Picture, underwhelm, possibly the Chargers extremely underwhelming. Maybe the Chargers,
we don't know those, Maybe the Broncos. Like I would say,
if you're stacking up the Chargers, Broncos, Jets, maybe throw
the Dolphins in there, Pittsburgh in there.
Speaker 1 (25:32):
Like three of those teams.
Speaker 5 (25:35):
I just like three of them are gonna make the
playoffs as wildcard teams.
Speaker 1 (25:41):
I kind of like my chances of the Jets figuring
this out. I mean, when you put it that way,
I don't disagree. I mean that's what we see right
now at this point in the season. Yeah, I don't
know how you can feel.
Speaker 5 (25:51):
Over good about anyone right now in the NFL outside
of the Vikings and a few a handful.
Speaker 1 (25:56):
Of other teams. If I'm wrong about the Jets making
the playoffs based off of the reason then you just
gave I'm all right with that. I don't think they're
that good. There's gonna be You're basically saying there's there's
four not that good teams that are going to be
a wild card team. So it's kind of the same point.
They got in by default. Y'all stink. Y'all just don't
(26:16):
stink as bad as the other ones that stink. That's
that's how you got in. They're not a good team. Yeah,
they got personnel. That's another one. So we had to conversation.
It's like beating a horse jockey in a dunk contest.
It's like, yeah, you won the dunk contest, but it
was a horse jockey, you know, like the AFC. Ain't
that great dang kind of jockey dunk? Probably not anyway,
(26:39):
probably trankly or not. That would be an amazing spob
was what hal tall? He could dunk? Really, that's true,
But I don't know if he was as short as
a jockey. So here's the thing, right, as far as
I'm concerned with New York, the New York Jets, I
look at them the same way I look at the
Cleveland Browns. It's a team that has a ton of
(27:03):
talent on paper, and there's there's I won't say in
this sense. I won't I won't compare them because I
would I would only say maybe the only common denominator
in them not doing better than what they are is
the head coach. I mean, I'm just being honest. If
if if we're looking at Cleveland, the common denominator, the
(27:25):
common factor is Deshaun Watson in New York. Here to
further your point, I'm gonna do this to back you up.
Speaker 5 (27:32):
So, if the playoffs were to start today, the Jets
would be just on the outside of two and three
as the eight seed. Now, the three teams that would
make it would be the Steelers, Broncos, Chargers. So to
your point about the difference between those three teams the Jets.
Speaker 1 (27:48):
Look at the head coaches. Hmm, it's the difference. I
think that's that's I think, at at at its bare minimum,
if we're coming to why are we looking at a
team with so much talent underperform to the level that
they are. Even if let's just say Aaron Rodgers isn't
(28:09):
in the game, this is still a team personnel wise
that should be in a lot of ways superior to
other teams that they're playing against. And that's not what's
showing to me that that totally has to fall at
the feet of the Hey guy, you got to get
more out of them. Let me give you one more
(28:29):
stat Jonas before you jump in.
Speaker 5 (28:31):
Of the teams in the AFC with the highest percentage
chance or probability of making the playoffs, the Chiefs number
one and ninety seven percent, the Texans at ninety percent
really a Chiefs more like ninety nine, The Ravens at
(28:52):
eighty three percent, the Bills at seventy eight percent, and
the Steelers of sixty six. The next highest is the
Jets at sixty three. So technically they have the sixth
highest probability in the AFC to make it in. This
is according to NFL dot Com. This is not like
my own, you know, calculation or anything of that nature.
(29:14):
So even though right now they'd be on the outside
looking in because the Chargers are coming off of bye,
they still, based on this NFL dot Com standings for
the playoff picture as of today, they still have a
higher probability of making the playoffs and the Broncos, Chargers
and every other team by a significant margin in the AFC.
Speaker 1 (29:35):
As of right now, that margin will go down.
Speaker 3 (29:41):
Here's my one concern about Rogers. Guy's going to be
forty one in a couple of months. And he's coming
off a major injury. He's now got the ankle. You know,
It's not like he went through his entire career in
Green Bay and he was squeaky clean. I just wonder,
and we threw out. You know, Matt Stafford a couple
of weeks ago, like he's starting to show his age.
(30:01):
He looks beat up more now. You know, there's all
sorts of stuff going on with him. I just wonder,
are we seeing the downside of Rogers to where staying
healthy is going to be a real problem moving forward?
Speaker 1 (30:16):
And there's only one way to find it has been
a problem moving forward.
Speaker 3 (30:19):
And that's what that's My only concern is liked, which
kind of bums me out because I hate seeing players
get old. But I just wonder if're watching Aaron Rodgers
get old and get old quick in front of our eyes.
Speaker 5 (30:31):
The one thing I'll say about that, though, is I'll
go back and reiterate what I said yesterday. What bothered
me about this most recent game was it was mental.
You know, the injury was the injury, but he was
being caught off guard by the pressure. Looks at Brian
Flores and not able to see that. Harrison Smith was
going to be the free rusher, and I at least
(30:52):
look to that side to see that he had his
tied end looking off.
Speaker 1 (30:55):
The ball for the football.
Speaker 5 (30:57):
And the one sack he took on you know that
the pick six, you know, throwing right into the dropper.
He's played way more football than I ever have at
a higher level of my life. But those are things that, like,
at this point in time of his career, you know,
he should be further ahead of and especially in that game,
(31:19):
and even forcing the football on the second interception as
opposed to just dumping it down. You know, you kind
of comb through it and go. That wasn't due to
an ankle injury. That was just poor decisions. And at
this point, like I think, if you look at Tom
brad at the end of his career, one of the
things you probably came back and looked at every time,
I was like, dude, he always made the right decision
(31:41):
almost always, now, you know, was his arm the same,
Was he moving the same, No, But as far as
the decision making and that mental aspect of it, it
was as great as it had ever had been. And
that was what was surprising about this past week from
me watching the.

asked if he is contemplating the switch at quarterback to
(33:07):
Aidan O'Connell to be a full time move.
Speaker 1 (33:10):
AOC came in and.
Speaker 3 (33:12):
Spelled Gardner Minshew after a port performance over the weekend.
Here was Antonio Piers's response.
Speaker 1 (33:18):
He dude switched at him.
Speaker 2 (33:19):
Is a PC from the switch Like last season.
Speaker 1 (33:22):
I didn't even say we're going to switch, So we're
still evaluating the film from yesterday. I don't I can't
go off of hiss. I wish I could, but I'm not.
That's a factor of the decision. I'm not gonna hypothetical
on that one. Sorry.
Speaker 3 (33:34):
So it feels like that things are a little bit,
a little bit rough there for Antonio Piers and the
Raiders in Las Vegas.
Speaker 5 (33:42):
Well, you don't have your best player plan and Devoncea
Adams and you know it's that's gonna that's gonna play
a factor in a little bit of the passing game,
you know. And so this past week it's not like
Minshew has really played overly bad. He's completed almost seventy
one percent of his passes. He's thrown for a thousand yards.
You know, he had a couple of picks in this one,
and that really was what ultimately did him in, especially.
Speaker 1 (34:06):
In a divisional game like this.
Speaker 5 (34:08):
But to me, like I've looked at their team and
I think they're struggling equally just as much defensively at times.
I mean, Sean Payton had their number. There were guys
running wide open, uh in the secondary.
Speaker 1 (34:21):
And you know, whether that's.
Speaker 5 (34:23):
A lack of a pass rush or coverage breakdowns or
just scheme whatever you we to point to, that's not
a guard of Minshew problem. Now the short fields and
the interceptions, that's a that's a different issue. But you know,
when I'm looking at it, it's like, I mean, it
is ain't no kind of going to provide them that
big of a lift based on what Minshew's done Right now,
I'm not so sure he's not.
Speaker 1 (34:44):
And I think I think the bigger conversation here has
to be now can Cano Antonio Pierce, which, which by
the way, with the coaching staff of people he's brought
on is freaking phenomenal. From Kaflin to coach Lewis. Uh,
(35:05):
Why am I blanking on his name, Marv Lewis. I
mean he has he has. I believe he has Rex
on there too, or Rob rob Ryan on staff. He
has a tremendous amount of uh experience on his staff.
I think the bigger question now is if if I'm
making decisions for the future, it's just that for the future.
(35:30):
Can this coaching staff, can Antonio Pierce lead this team
into the right direction both on the field and as
well as off the field with his GM and with
his coaching staff, Because I think, I think, if we're
being honest, if we're looking at this team, there was
(35:50):
one or two players, Davante Adams being one who is
now no longer available to them and Max Crosby. You
may have a couple, you know, decent players here and there,
but those are your your pillars, you know, supposedly, you
know air quote, your pillars of your team. And that's
a little flimsy. As as Max Crosby has won it,
(36:11):
you know, has alluded to, you know, expressing maybe interest
and being traded now DeVante Adams wanting to be traded
and seemingly being done playing any games there anymore. This
is a rebuilt. It's a rebuilt. And are you is
the rebuilt based upon your belief and Antonio Pierce in
company or is it based upon you bringing in someone
new and starting from scratch, Because regardless of what who
(36:35):
does it, it's going to be a rebuilt in Las Vegas.
It's not even an entertaining rebuild either. It's just kind
of like BLI like.
Speaker 3 (36:41):
They're gonna win five six games maybe and that'll be
that like it just you know, and then then they're
in the drafts looking for a quarterback again.
Speaker 1 (36:49):
So yeah, all right, well our three next miss you
Var yep,
